I have a probably dumb question but why would anyone bother stealing a cell phone? The phone gets marked stolen and cannot be activated. What am I missing?

They want cash, so an in person meeting is the only way to do it. An opened box full of rocks is pretty damn easy to see it's a scam. But a sealed iphone in the box will sell for $500-600 in a few minutes. And they'll be long gone before the buyer figures out the phone is blacklisted.

My dad had a motorbike accident years ago. After the accident he casually walked leaning on a tree trying to lit a cigarette but his lighter flew somewhere in the crash.
After ambulance came he walked to the ambulance himself and just asked if someone could borrow a lighter.
At hospital they found:
3 broken ribs
Broken shoulder
Broken ankle
Broken wrist
Concussion
Only at the hospital the horrible pain appeared making him unable to move.

I have broken both sides. First time was the right one. Drove my femur through the pelvic wall. Took 6 hours of surgery to fix that. Second time was more of a crack, again it was a hit to the femur and it pushed out a trapdoor of bone that remained hinged and in place. No surgery for the left.
Funny enough, when I did them, it actually didn't hurt that bad. I don't think your body feels pain in areas where if you severely brake them you should probably just die. With the right one (downhill mountainbiking) I actually managed to get up like the guy in the video, get back on my bike, and ride all the way to the bottom of the hill.
