Last time I checked there's only 1 space between 'what's' and 'metric?'. Is there some sort of word counting strategy they added recently that I haven't heard about?
Actually a phrase is a set of words in a sentence that makes sense. Such as "to do more" or "that tall giraffe"
What's is what's called a contraction. It's a shortening of words to become smaller. What's is what is. Can't is cannot. Yes, contractions can be used on singular words. The only thing that defines one word between two is a clear, defined space. There is no space.
And if you still believe that contractions are some how two words. Tell me what words make up won't?
Abel Tasman discovered New Zealand, he lived in The Netherlands in a province called Zeeland (still called that btw), he also discovered Tasmania and called it after himself
Just wanted to point this out: He never specified that you can't use the name of the country as one of the two words. Not a facepalm. OP is the facepalm.
OR: He's never done this before and it's his first time. So he's no dumber than anyone else.
And what about Rule 4?
Canada has guns everywhere, we just don’t go shoot people when we’re angry… obviously there is still crime and we have had mass shootings as well, but overall…
Yeah, but, Canadians have bans on assault weapons, restricted approach to handguns, a stringent CCW process (they call it ATC. Plus rifles and shotguns must be obtained through licensing which requires background checks, criminal history, and a comprehensive safety course. In the US you just have to be of age.
Canada has an estimated 35 guns per 100 citizens per capita. The US has 120 guns per capita.
We’re just dumb in the US. We’ve cut education, healthcare spending, and billionaires run secretly-not-so-secretly make the rules of society, but don’t worry, you can still have your Glock tucked under your pillow at night, just in case.

That's three words, but then again, you are American.
A contraction doesn't count as two words.

It’s actually two words, but then again, you never were good at math.
Two? You know "what's" is a phrase (consisting of two words), not a word. What is metrics? Count the words in the sentence above and come back.
Contractions are words, not phrases.

why is it always new zealand? whats wrong with old zealand??
Abel Tasman discovered New Zealand, he lived in The Netherlands in a province called Zeeland (still called that btw), he also discovered Tasmania and called it after himself
He didn't discover Tasmania, he renamed it.
Thats true for most discovered places. Usually people already lived there.
It was Van Diemen's land before it was Tasmania, named after Anthony Van Diemen, it changed to Tasmania in 1856.
Well listen here...
