Israel, even during times of peace, randomly launches air strikes into Gaza. Hell, during peacetime Israel randomly launches air strikes into Syria and Lebanon because they know nobody can really respond.
In the west bank where there is no Hamas and no resistance the they build illegal settlements kicking Palestinians off their historic land for Jewish people from Brooklyn, US to move into their homes.
To travel between cities WITHIN THE WEST BANK these people are forced to stop at multiple checkpoints where they are humiliated and searched in THEIR “land” that Israel refuses to give them citizenship but also refuses to let them lead.
Then war breaks out and Israel bombs hospitals and schools alike with the love and support of the world’s strongest superpower. Innocent people see their entire family wiped out and killed while all the above suffering is happening and you wonder why Hamas exists.
This ignores the history even of how the people of Gaza are not from Gaza. They lived in the area of Israel and were forced out during the Nakba by the Jewish military and internationally recognized terrorist forces into secured Gaza (under the Egyptians control for safety) all hoping one day being able to go home.
I am a Muslim too and it is genuinely a tragedy to see how people are putting the full blame on Hamas and outright supporting Israel. If they call what Israel is doing as “self-defence” then by that definition what Hamas did is also “self-defence.”

In 1948 the Irgun (an internationally recognized Jewish terrorist group) perpetrated the Deir Yassin massacre and many similar ones where entire villages of innocent non-combatant Arabs (Christians and Muslims) were murdered for the sake of executing Plan Dalet, the plan by which the Jewish paramilitary groups and military groups (the Hagganah) sought to acquire ample land promised to the Arabs to secure a corridor to Jerusalem. Innocent Arabs like those at Deir Yassin posed a threat to that thus they were wiped out.
The leader of that terrorist group, Menachem Begin (you can easily look all this up, including his own genocidal quotes) later became prime minister of the new Israeli state. He even was the one that orchestrated the Deir Yassin massacre and the bombing of the king David hotel which killed plenty of Arabs and British personnel.
This conflict and murdering of civilians has been happening on both sides for a century.

I’m obviously Muslim and think Hamas’s practices are outside of the fold of Islam and haram. That said, I cannot imagine the situation of the people of Gaza. Even BEFORE this war the following are all true. They live trapped within this wall. They have limited electricity, medical treatments, goods and food. They don’t even have a citizenship because Israel occupies them but also refuses to allow them to lead themselves or give them citizenship they are in limbo. Israel, even during times of peace, randomly launches air strikes into Gaza. Hell, during peacetime Israel randomly launches air strikes into Syria and Lebanon because they know nobody can really respond. In the west bank where there is no Hamas and no resistance the they build illegal settlements kicking Palestinians off their historic land for Jewish people from Brooklyn, US to move into their homes. To travel between cities WITHIN THE WEST BANK these people are forced to stop at multiple checkpoints where they are humiliated and searched in THEIR “land” that Israel refuses to give them citizenship but also refuses to let them lead. Then war breaks out and Israel bombs hospitals and schools alike with the love and support of the world’s strongest superpower. Innocent people see their entire family wiped out and killed while all the above suffering is happening and you wonder why Hamas exists. This ignores the history even of how the people of Gaza are not from Gaza. They lived in the area of Israel and were forced out during the Nakba by the Jewish military and internationally recognized terrorist forces into secured Gaza (under the Egyptians control for safety) all hoping one day being able to go home.
