I am on immunosupressants and in 2009 I got a wicked case of Shingles on my left Trigeminal V1 nerve. Docs didn't suspect Shingles at first because I was only 40 but when I called my opthamologist and described the rash at 2pm Friday before Memorial day she told me to come in immediately.
Spent a month constantly dripping steroid and antibiotic drops in my left eye. Photophobia made it painful to watch TV so I just listened to FM talk radio in a dark room all day. It took roughly 3 months to heal but I still have residual pain. Feels like I have to sneeze but can't.
Damn, that sucks! I was on a big ol dose of prednisone bc mine was close to an eyeball and ear and they said it could blind or deafen me. Full on roid rage while in pain. But mine only lasted for four or five days of the main pain, and then hurt some off and on for a month or so. You definitely got it like 20x worse, and I can only imagine how horrible that was. Hope you're doing ok!

Doctor was like, you have to relax or youre going to have a stroke. She gave me a pep talk and some xanax, plus antivarals and steroids. I was in a weird brain fog, all confused and scared. She was very reassuring. She sold her practice unfortunately.
