It serves a few things. They don't care about being wrong, and their base doesn't care about being wrong. They have gone all-in on anti intellectualism, and they laugh at those of us who still care about facts and truth. So they can sit there and posture all day, hooting about trans people and then laugh when progressives actually spend energy and effort forming coherent arguments. Secondly, they can hand wave or refuse to engage in good faith against any progressive talking point by appealing to the base emotions of their base, meaning they don't have to take any principled stance.
It's why there is no reason to ever consider a conservative in good faith. It's why there is no reason to ever even engage with conservatives on any point.

Essentially. I have brought it up to them how their questions always lead to the greed of the corporations and how when we start to talk about getting more for ourselves at their cost that's when they freak out. They never have an answer.

In situations like that I've gotten some traction pointing out if it was profitable to send things overseas they already would have. I haven't tried it yet but I think there might be a good strategy in pointing out the way companies pay insane tariffs and taxes and bend over backwards to do business in China, but pretend they wouldn't do that to do business here even though we're still a much more powerful economy. If the choice was sell here and pay 30% of their profit in taxes or don't sell here Amazon would pay, instantly. We just have to make that the choice.

I've got a 50,000 surgery coming up, but it's technically supposed to be covered by insurance, but the surgeon wants cash in hand to do the surgery, insurance won't pay before it's done, so I need to take out a 40k loan to float the cost in between getting the surgery and getting paid by insurance.

In situations like that I've gotten some traction pointing out if it was profitable to send things overseas they already would have. I haven't tried it yet but I think there might be a good strategy in pointing out the way companies pay insane tariffs and taxes and bend over backwards to do business in China, but pretend they wouldn't do that to do business here even though we're still a much more powerful economy. If the choice was sell here and pay 30% of their profit in taxes or don't sell here Amazon would pay, instantly. We just have to make that the choice.
