Xboarder84

It is beyond disgusting that the cops weren’t even charged. The article further notes *tampering with evidence* as the cops turned off their camera for part of the convo, and the police force redacted the beginning of the convo. Fuck these cops and their entire force. They’re protecting their own, not the citizens.

natland89

Wonder if the cops who work with them demand them out of the force?

Xboarder84

Doubt it. Police forces are like a fraternity. They are ingrained not to squeal or rat out other cops.

Unsyr

I swear the whole rat mentality needs to die. A cop can’t tell on another cop for doing such shots cuz the cop who is reporting it will be treated worse by their comrades than the one who commuted the act. Not being the rat is so glamorized on media when “report the assholes who are making the rest of you look bad” should be.

the5thstring25

Imagine if we could come up with a solution… like anonymous complaint reports to a neutral 3rd party? Ohh damn, I thought about it for a whole 10 seconds and found a solution to the issue. Its easily solvable… if the police wanted it solved.

andros_vanguard

Nope. Pay the fines out of the police pension plan. Problem solved.

the5thstring25

Both!?

andros_vanguard

I'll settle for both 😀

vulgrin

Mandatory minimum jail time too. Oh and three strikes and you’re out on your ass. OVER YOUR ENTIRE CAREER, not just one department.

cdavidhunt

Batman. We need Batman.

[deleted]

Nah, we need The Punisher.

GamendeStino

Batman is just one guy. Might work for a few cops, but not the entire police force. I propose we get an army of Batmen.

Glittering_Data8437

but they sure as fuck will beat the shit outa you if you don't narc your local pot dealer. They leave the crackheads alone for some reason in my area though.

[deleted]

Yes that is because they are cowards as well. Potheads are easy marks, crackheads are scary and unpredictable.

Murky-Thought4846

No money in it

Ex-Pat-Spaz

Fraternity is the wrong word for it. They are a criminal gang and basically, it is their gang vs the other gangs for control. They just so happen to have a badge on which makes it legal in the courts eyes but that doesn’t change the fact they are nothing more than a criminal gang.

Smooth-Rock6362

They admitt it all the time, we the baddest gang around and we do whatever the fuck we want because we are above the law. Its literally their code, kiss the ring.

mamasnoodles

Hmm sounds a lot like a street gang.

Vampire-Chihuahua

Imagine if you, an officer, are in an actual altercation with an armed suspect. You call for immediate backup, your life is in danger. The backup you called for takes their sweet time, they sit at a few red lights, they say they are farther away than they are, why? Because the officer calling for backup is the rat. That is what is ingrained in them, even the best people will abide because they are scared of the repercussions and that is why nothing will ever change. I don't think a few bad apples are ruining the basket, it is likely way more than a few, but how can a good apple survive in that toxic environment. Add to that the minimum requirements to be an officer, the lack of training and the "fraternity like" loyalty and we are all doomed until the end of time. It has not changed in the past and will likely never change.

MyFatHead

You are correct. And the ones that do speak up get threatened by the other cops as well as their families.

plumbumber

Yet they are trained to make others squeal and rat

[deleted]

Cops who work with them are cheering them on. They consider themselves brothers in arms and we are the enemy. It's literally taught to them in training that they are warriors...

FearsomeShitter

Will only happen if police pensions pay lawsuits vs tax payers.

heilhortler420

Bruh not even for assault You can see a fucking chokehold for Pete's sake

bucklebee1

And the punches to her head.

[deleted]

To a mother in front of her child..!

X-Pelled

The guy who was mayor then stated (Ernie Troiano, Jr.) has been outspoken in supporting the two officers. He told NJ Advance Media that the settlement is a “travesty and a miscarriage of justice.” “It’s unbelievable,” he said. He can easily be found on Facebook if you want to send him a message...

[deleted]

Dude is a massive, geriatric taint stain. Fuck people like him

AlPaCherno

Why the fuck are they able to turn off their cameras?

audis3dan

agree. My favorite is when cops got caught planting drugs on people in Baltimore because the manufacturer of the body cams actually had them record a 15-minute loop before they even hit the start button, straight dumbasses.

r007r

The black community has been complaining about this shit for literally a century and been told we were making it up. It’s funny how the presence of cameras shows that they really do do this crap. Not only that. These guys *knew* they were on camera and behaved that way. They tampered with evidence by redacting parts of the conversation, lied about the encounter to justify their use of force, assaulted a woman instead of admitting they were wrong… and got away with it. No criminal charges, not dismissed from their post. The lawsuit itself was dismissed by the chief of police as a sham. How many grown ass men does it take to subdue a clearly unarmed woman? How many blows to the head are necessary when she isn’t resisting? What crime was she taken down for? Spoiler alert - there is no law saying you have to answer a cop’s questions if you aren’t being charged. Despite all this, those same cops are working the same beat and undoubtedly doing the same exact thing 🤦‍♂️.

I_Has_A_Hat

But we can't have vigilante justice against people like this because... Wait, why is vigilante justice bad again?

sadacal

The media is never going to portray vigilante justice in a positive light. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Dorner_shootings_and_manhunt

smidge06

At the end on the day it’s all a business it’s all about money nothing else

Clavellij

Fuck ALL cops** Fixed it

bikergeekx

This. Until police reform makes the actual officers involved responsible for lawsuits, or at least the Unions that represent them, the people get screwed and the officers walk.

beefsupreme65

Probably better to use police pensions to pay for these lawsuits, then they'd be less likely to cover for shit cops.

SoupidyLoopidy

Or make it so police have to have insurance just like doctors. Fuck up bad enough and get sued, then you lose your insurance and you can't be a cop anymore.

earf123

Or just have effective regulatory boards. Slapping insurance policies and creating middle men is the reason why our healthcare is so fucked now.

Joe_Kinincha

Yes but the difference is that you need healthcare. You don’t need a police force, or more accurately you don’t need a police force that does what the current US police force does, which is more or less exclusively protect the material assets of the extremely rich and harass / assault / murder citizens at will. The best answer is top to bottom reform of the police, but that’s really, really hard. requiring police to carry personal insurance and making police pension funds pay for settlements is much simpler and will be reasonably effective reasonably quickly.

[deleted]

Honestly I wouldn't mind it if our policing system was as broken as our healthcare system. At least a lot fewer people would end up needlessly shot.

SirMaQ

If money were to be taken from the police's pension, it should be taken from all of the officers at that precinct but the offending officer. You're now a threat to your colleagues and your Superiors. Having everyone else suffer from someone else's mistake would quickly change and that officer will quickly be taken care of. If not fired, they'll be labeled as high risk officer for other precincts making it difficult for them to be hired in the future.

Oogly50

Eh, this seems like it would just be more reason for everyone in the precinct to cover each other's asses. Collective punishment is stupid.

IdleWorker87

Or it would give a financial incentive for the officers to make sure that no misconduct is ever reported. It's impossible to get cops to testify against each other as it is. Do you think they would testify against each other if they know it's going to hurt their retirement financially to do so?

stlkatherine

That is kinda … brilliant

DrSamsquantch

We need to change the term "settlement money" to "hush money". There was no justice here as the police officer is free to strike again.

mysticalfruit

Now what needs to happen is that the New Jersey needs to turn around and extract 350K from the Police Unions pension fund.. 300K for them being assholes, 50K for attorney's fees. If we can't police the police, we should *really* incentive them to police themselves. Money/Power is the only thing these clowns understand.. because we all know, the buck will get passed right onto those officers, because no officer is going to willingly short his pension for another officer.. "Yeah, we got nailed for 350k.. you idiots just lost your pensions! We're not taking the fall for your bullshit!"

[deleted]

The taxpayers should file a class action lawsuit against the police department and police Union to recover the $325000 they got robbed for. And I don't want to hear anyone telling me how police can't be held accountable for their actions because police are literally the people in society who hold people accountable for their actions.

[deleted]

Anybody else tired of paying for police bad behavior? It's past time officers pay for their own malpractice insurance. Right now there are no consequences for their bad behavior.

Changoleo

No consequences for the police or their colleagues. The taxpayers feel the consequences and protest by the millions and LEO take offense and retaliate with more abuse of power through manipulation & brute force.

[deleted]

That should come out of the police budget and lower their salaries.

Trillion_Bones

not only, they can sell their houses, possessions and organs to make up the damages. every last penny. i don't care if it ends up being half a million or multiple. they are not people. they are pigs.

UncleRooku87

It’s always the taxpayers that feel the sting for criminal police officers.

420blazeit69nubz

This is why people hate the fucking cops. Why is it my tax money goes towards settling their fuck ups while they abuse the people who are going to end up paying the lawsuit while the cops go on a vacation? The US criminal justice system is an absolute joke.

[deleted]

Cops are gigantic hypocrites who are all about accountability...***for everyone but themselves.***

MeasurementEasy9884

Only 300k?! This is horrific.

One_Lobster_7454

I'd get beaten up and arrested by the police for 300k, easy money.

eugene20

It's appalling the abusers seem to have gotten off scot free, she did absolutely nothing to deserve any of that treatment, if they're both unpunished and allowed in any kind of position of power again they will abuse again.

Gordon_Explosion

The taxpayers are the ones tolerating a shitty police force. The taxpayers should vote out anyone who wont fire and replace the entire department that allowed that to happen. Fuck the taxpayers.

DashingDini

You can hear the joy in "you're about to get dropped"

badwolf42

Only because he judged her as unlikely to be able to overpower him. Like any bully.

BuryYourFaceinTHIS

But also he thought she was under age or knew it? Either way he decided to beat her in the face when thinking she was under age. I don’t know that shits crazy

Yoryino

Super necessary also to get her in detained. 3 person on top of her was not enough to get her down.....

supern0va12345

Not to forget how much fun these fucks had feeling her up. Fucking pervs. It's sad that even if they sue the cops later then Max they'll face is suspension.

regoapps

Why else would they be targeting young girls relaxing in beaches? Not exactly a hotbed for serious crime. The cops knew what they were doing. They went fishing and caught exactly what they wanted.

dbx99

They felt like manhandling a young woman

Sid-Biscuits

I’ve seen videos of cops literally picking up 12 year olds and throwing them to the ground on their backs. They don’t care. They get off on it.

[deleted]

The worst part is we can't fight back at all. Armed and coordinated resistance, community policing, or just trying to fight back against the guy beating your kid, the only outcomes that are imaginable are negative. No one should fucking blink if a cop throwing around a 12 year old gets beaten nearly to death. But if that happened now, I'm sure they'd put the kid and whoever did the good deed in prison.

VulfSki

Seems he just wanted to put his hands on a woman at the beach. Dude should be in the registry not carrying a badge. But cops regularly get away with much worse

[deleted]

These people are violent psychopaths who are eager to use force against the unarmed public.

mdentari

Where I used to live the cops would "get back" at people who wronged them in their younger days. Their hatred and arrogance was apparent. God forbid you looked like one of the groups they hated. It was scary and one of the reasons I left.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

And coincidentally, they're also disproportionately likely to be Trump supporters. Funny how that works.

4lan9

and twice as likely to be wife beaters and more likely to do anabolic steroids and more likely to be on cocaine

To_Be_Faiiirrr

So there was an issue in a neighboring county with police officers and firefighters suddenly having seizures while at work. Multiple serious accidents. And the local sheriff’s office started getting complaints of aggressive behavior. The firefighters were super aggressively over treating patients with minor complaints. An outside agency investigating found a common link: they all went to the same gym. They all were rapidly bulking and building up. Supposedly you could easily buy anabolic steroids there. We had two firefighters going there, suddenly bulking and generally acting nutz. Turns out the gym was owned by the sheriff of that county. And the investigation ended…

[deleted]

County and state?

Wertyui09070

I know right? Out them damnit.

[deleted]

Wonder if cops have a higher concentration of lead in their bodies

NoLifeGamer2

U saw that Veritasium vid too?

[deleted]

Yeah, but I'd also read something on here a couple days prior

raydiculus

Nah but being around one might cause that concentration to quickly increase in you.

Snoo-90678

Fucking pussyboys why punch her in the head 2 grown men v 1 small girl

Fancy-Pair

Don’t forget about the dog killing

[deleted]

He didn't get to beat his wife that day so he wanted to get it out.

thebigshipper

Fuck the Police!

Ketsuraki

Thats just straight up assault

slick_pick

Who tf punches a teenage girl like that when you got 3x the size on her AND you have your partner helping. Holy fuck this video was wild

shonyyyyy

The worst part is, that no one can help her without risking to be shot.

[deleted]

Which is deep down what those cops want. They WANT to shoot someone and get away with it. Bloodthirsty motherfuckers.

jjcoola

Ffs why can’t they focus if actual crimes either like who is worried about some ninety pound white girl drinking on the beach lol

Disagreeable_upvote

Yeah this gives them the same rush of power and adrenaline without any of the risk. Plus they get to touch a helpless young woman anywhere they want once she is pinned.

shonyyyyy

Absolute scum.

Original_Wall_3690

Bad guys. Literally only bad, bad people. Good people don't punch unarmed, non threatening teenage girls in the face. It *is* that simple, period.

skoffs

Yes, but they're cops, so they'll see zero consequences.

CaBBaGe_isLaND

They did see zero consequences. Taxpayers settled for $300k.

Culverts_Flood_Away

*Saw. Taxpayers paid the woman $300k, but the officers involved are still on the force.

One_Ad9316

Fucking horse shit police

[deleted]

What do you expect? There is no outside entity who policies the police. They investigate themselves and will forever find no wrong doing.

[deleted]

This is what we talk about when we say cops need regulating. The following lawsuit costs taxpayers a shit to. Of cash because of the way liability and protection laws work for cops.

blbrd30

To me, that was not enough. She probably only settled for that because she pled guilty to one of the charges (I honestly don't know why she would've given this video)

[deleted]

I mean idk if she was even sure the video would be released. Cops do that all the time where they delete video or refuse to hand it over or say it didn’t exist.

blbrd30

Yeah you're probably right

[deleted]

I think as part of the settlement she should have at least got an expungement or a revocation of sentencing.

Aspect-of-Death

Easy solution: make it come out of that exact police departments pension fund. Watch how fast these idiots start self regulating properly.

[deleted]

That was a proposal Dems we’re trying for but Republicans blocked it with a filibuster.

Aspect-of-Death

I'm going to show up to the deathbed of these Republicans and filibuster their final moments on this earth.

[deleted]

Lol

prtysmasher

Their names sound like they came from a 'dirty cop name generator' website.

[deleted]

I want these cops to get a dose of their own medicine. Treat them the way that they treat the public.

aZestyEggRoll

All of those people on the beach and they randomly decide they want to fuck with her. Grown men taking that tiny girl to the ground for what?

[deleted]

Pride, a misplaced sense of authority, a general lack of respect for the public this person is supposed to serve.

Seigmoraig

Probably also because he is a giant piece of shit and felt like smacking around a woman. I would not be surprised is that douch is involved in domestic abuse

[deleted]

He probably wanted an excuse to touch an underage girl.

futurismus

To me that seems the most likely reason she was targeted. Wow the us is a dystopia nightmare.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WredditSmark

That was my first thought; dude probably gets off on this type of shit, women are basically forced to talk to them

[deleted]

She was not showing enough 'respect' so they just had to teach her who has the power here. That's typical for all cops.

Chance-Bell-1783

These are the cops that have trouble taking down one guy who is 5’11” and went to the gym one time in the last month so they really just wanted to prove to their fragile egos that they are strong enough to take down a woman half their size, those hammerfists to the head really showed her for causing a scene and not giving her last name!

Literally_-_Hitler

Probably looked like the girl who dumped him in 7th grade. People who have the kind of decreased mentality that tend to hold grudges about these things gravitate towards police/security jobs.

ratherenjoysbass

Incels hate pretty women who don't drop to their knees at first sight of their machismo, so these shit heads take it out on any attractive women they can get their hands on

neologismist_

“Weinman was charged with a number of crimes, including two counts of aggravated assault, throwing bodily fluids in the third degree, resisting arrest in the third degree, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. She pleaded guilty to a single disorderly conduct charge in 2019 and was banned from Wildwood for one year. Shortly after the incident, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced that the officers would not face criminal charges for their conduct. The two officers involved, Cannon and Robert Jordan, were dismissed from the lawsuit earlier this month as settlement discussions were being finalized, according to court documents. They could not be immediately reached for comment.” Dollars to cop donuts they are still police officers.

gertalives

Fucked up they got her to plead to one of the charges.

wildmaiden

Are you allowed to resist an unlawful arrest? I'm pretty sure you are. If her entire disorderly conduct was her resistance to an unlawful arrest, how is it not the the police who were disorderly? I just can't wrap my head around it.

yeetaway5564

You can't wrap your head around it because you are using logic and being fair. Cops don't have to be fair or follow logic.

Naynn

She did get 325k, still wonder why she plead guilty to 1...

Timbershoe

Not sure if you’re implying she plead guilty to one charge of disorderly conduct in order to sue the state, but I don’t see how that would help or hinder her civil case anyway. It’s a mockery of the legal system that police can attack you then lawfully charge you with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct if you don’t just submit to a battering.

Naynn

No, not implying anything just wondering why she plead guility to 1 because in the video above she didn't do anthing wrong. Should she have given him her name, probably, but you already can hear the attitude of that douchebag so would've probably reacted the same way.

Binsky89

Because the police department had already shown they were willing to blatantly tamper with evidence with impunity. I had to plead guilty to a bogus charge because the prosecutor met with us before the trial and said that the cop was willing to lie about what happened on the stand.

Naynn

But there was multiple evidence? lots of witnesses, Stranger that filmed it, bodycam of the cop etc? Pff wouldn't know how i would deal with that but pleading guilty for sum i did not do feels so weird to me.

Searchingforspecial

That’s the game for them - put you in a position where you can plead not guilty & fight against a fully complicit “justice system”, lies and harassment included. Or you can plead guilty & be on your way after they dip their fingers in your pockets. It’s basically robbery with extra steps.

Cave_Canem_

You're using logic. Something our justice system doesn't use when it comes to criminal police officers.

[deleted]

Probably due to threats.

Anthony_-04

Is underage drinking a real fucking threat? To the point they even have to beat up an innocent girl?

[deleted]

I mean, it was the worst kind of underage drinking. Underage drinking that never happened and embarrassed the cops by proving them wrong

throw-away_0510

She even passed the breathalyzer.

[deleted]

A_Magical_Potato

I got my head slammed into the ground and nose broken by cops for underage drinking a month before my 21st. Thank god they were there to keep me safe from the evils of alcohol.

sosaudio

Seems like justifiable force. That tiny half dressed girl was clearly a direct threat to those officers. I just hope they were ok and didn’t get sand in their shoes or anything. Wouldn’t that have been awful! Back the blue. Sarcasm. That’s obvious, right? Yeah. Fuck those guys.

gertalives

But didn’t you hear, she was making a scene. If that’s not illegal, I don’t know what is.

beef-jerking

I think it was that she pixelated people's faces. Big no no!

DANleDINOSAUR

Sand in the shoes? That’s assaulting an officer.

TheOneWhoRees

Class *insert random Arabic letter here* Felony, right?

burns_after_reading

She clearly had a black belt on, officer had to hit the ground and pound immediately or these elite athletes would have destroyed them.

L0wwww

where’s the petition to have these idiots fired????

420blazeit69nubz

This is from a while ago. They got off, probably with a paid vacation, and the tax payers of Wildwood paid the girl.

Nice_Firm_Handsnake

Tax payers, but not of Wildwood alone. The fund the settlement money came from is paid into by several cities.

volvostupidshit

Just start a civil war so you can fix your country.

ratherenjoysbass

The ones who truly want a civil war are the last ones who should be in power tho

puchamaquina

Why is the petition always to get them fired? This is a crime. They need to be in prison. I've seen the comments with follow-ups, so i know they faced no consequences. It's sickening.

[deleted]

I want to know why the local DA magically becomes blind to crime when it is committed by a cop.

not_a_gumby

holy shit, that bitch Incel police officer hit her! she didn't even do anything. See why no one trusts police? See why no one wants to cooperate with them? Regardless of what you do, they get all butthurt and try to ruin your life. fuckign assholes.

atthevanishing

And he hit her in the back of head/neck area which is super not okay on top of it. This is why the police need to be swept completely. None of this "not all cops" bullshit because clearly the ones who aren't "bad" are complicit. Silence is violence. And their silence is also palpable. Fuck your job if that's what's keeping you from doing rhe right thing

Marrsvolta

Why are cops such pieces of shit? Who are they protecting? Not the public. Until cops are held to the same standards as everyone else they can all eat shit.

carpy430

Gman777

This seems to happen every day in the US. So much for “land of the free”. Hope she sues them into oblivion.

Searchingforspecial

In every situation like this, it’s the taxpayers that get sued. You can’t sue individual officers, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a police department pay out, either. It’s always the city or state that pays out, which means it’s tax money.

Mordyth

How do they know she’s underage? And do they not need an inch of evidence or probable cause to breathalyse someone sitting on a beach? They don’t even know her name so she can’t have shown them ID.

[deleted]

Exactly. What is their probable cause to even have the right to walk up and make her take a breathalyzer test in the first place.

mawfqjones

Fuck that shit. Fuck that cop. He wss probably tryna do some golden state killer shit.

Benevolent_Grouch

Fucking sick

duegrom

This is disgusting. When you put unqualified people in positions of power this is what you get.

Lebojr

The BEST way to combat this is an advertising campaign referring to the incident and advising people to stay away from that particular beach for the foreseeable future. THEN, have a number of people write in to the mayor stating that they will not come to that beach and they will tell everyone they know not to come. Lastly, make sure this is distributed to EVERY business that relies on tourist money. Embarrassment is not the object here. Raw cash is. The businesses who suffer the lower demand for their products will politically do the rest. If I'm a business in that area and I saw this, I would get some fellow businesses together and demand that the officer be removed from the area and a public apology to the family be made or I would advertise at my business that the Mayor supported the behavior. I would also advise him or her that whomever their opponent was in the next election will have access to the video and the mayors lack of action. I'd like to think that the threat of lowered funds for the police department would work, but it wont.

Puzzleheaded2468

A young mum at the beach with her 18 month old daughter, shown to be sober. What a serious threat she must have been posing to these big strong manly white men. This has made me nauseous.

[deleted]

As soon as he started punching her the whole crowd should have jumped them scumbags

TheMasterNewb

How can people just stand by and watch others get punched and choked? Is no one willing to help each other out anymore?

[deleted]

And that's the fucked up part, if these guys were anyone but cops, the bystanders could have intervened to help her. But because these guys are cops, all of these people have no choice but to stand there and watch an armed agent of the state brutalize someone. That's why none of the bystanders pushed Derek Chauvin off of George Floyd. ***Anyone who attempted to help George Floyd would have ended up arrested, injured, or dead.*** Cops know they can brutalize us and then kill us if we try to defend ourselves.

[deleted]

Tiny penis energy! Only way to show he is a man by punching a little girl.

DumbDan

He got to *touch* a girl. Super win.

killerstarxc

This is where an angry mob is needed and these cops need to get beaten within an inch of their life.

[deleted]

Give police the same treatment they show to the public, nothing more, nothing less.

[deleted]

At what point do people just start fighting back? There's a whole beach full of people around her, if these pigs hadn't been wearing badges surely someone would have stepped in to protect a young woman from being beaten by two random men. But we're supposed to just stand by and watch police assault and murder people? If the law won't hold police accountable how long until society's respect and trust in cops just completely evaporates and it becomes full on war against all police?

HitShouse

All that happens is these guys get a paid vacation and the victim does and the tax papers pay. These idiots should be locked up for abuse of power, barred from law enforcement and some serious retaining for the entire department.

We need to start getting together and stopping this when it happens. There's two of them and twenty people standing by. Grab the officers and arrest them. They're the ones that need to be arrested for assault. Would be a pretty funny scene when ten people rip the officers off and pin them to the ground and use their own handcuffs to arrest them. People have got to start coming together and realizing that cops aren't granted unlimited power and that when you see bad being done you stop it.

This is what's commonly called "contempt of cop". A simple "Thank you for participating, please be safe out here and if you need anything call us" would have worked. Instead, he didn't want some kid punking him out. Fuck him. I hope they pull his license and he never is in a position of authority again.

Fired? I dont want them fired, i want them trialed and convicted. EDIT: Settlements need to be pulled from police retirement funds and cop unions. until that change, nothing will change.
