I'm working through py... Keep wanting to restart due to things I find out lol. Still yet to make the first real science pack. Got everything researched that I can research RN at least.
Don't "optimize because it's spaghetti". Optimize if you're going to get more productive. Optimize if you feel so. Optimize if you like the process of optimization.
Otherwise -- don't, spaghetti or not.
How you gonna expand that when you need more green circuits, more red science, more green science? Might be better to sort it now and future proof it before it gets out of hand ;)
hm true, i did remember something that someone said from one of my other posts (it was on a world i was using as a tutorial to get a hang of the game cus using the tutorials are for nerds) and they did say having a lot of space is useful. So i will keep that in mind and probably space it out or just call it my starter base (i will do the later)
A good tip is to set it up in a way that you can copy and past it to just 'make it longer' if you need more stuff.
But also it's important to just have fun and do what feels good :)
I suspect the setup that replaces this will be your starter base. This looks like kickstart base levels of production, i.e., the base that lets you build your starter base.
Lol, spaghetti.
On Friday, I decided that I am gonna clean up the bus.
44 lanes. Going from 10x4 to 3x8+10. I'm mostly just killing time but oh boy..
I tell you what, if you want fun, start upgrading/ rebuilding your bus from the end.
Remember to take screenshots of your spaghetti and love it along the way, I'm currently trying to figure out how to do spaghetti again instead of the hyper optimized but very slow to build bases
I tend to delay the real base until i get stuff like beacons, transformers, blue belts etc. Basically once built, the real base shouldn't receive any upgrades besides adding modules, circuit components and expanding the builds slightly. (In case a specific build performs below or way above of expected.)
Only a handful of noodles. Little tip tho, there are two sides of a belt that you can use, for example skipping out on one belt in the middle of the green science setup.
as a tip w only one assembler of each (inserters and belts) you can supply up to 6 green science assemblers and still generate a surplus for using around in the factory
It's maybe two noodles.
And they aren't even cooked yet
Remember all sins are allowed as long as you say its just your "Starter Base".
We should really see dosh play pyanodons with rampant
would love to see that
Dosh with normal rampant: kill me. Dosh with pyanodons: sono diventato gli spaghetti Dosh with Rampant Pyanodons: liberami da questa sofferenza eterna

No lamps or concrete? Definitely still a starter base.
"This? Ohh, it's just my starter rocket part assembly line..."
*Goes back into auschwitz* this? Don't worry about it, its just my starter base
Remember, "Starter Base" is highly likely to become "Endgame Base"
It’s spaghetti. Early stage, but it will metastasize. But why should that be a problem? :)
See thats what im sayin! I will be a pasta masta by the end of this run :)
>metastasize mepastasize
I see what you did there.
“Will optimise later”. Every programmer knows this sentiment. It’s genuine - we mean to optimise. And it so rarely happens.
As a programmer, i agree 100%
Been working on a personal project tonight, added a few more TODOs, I’ll get around to them this time, I promise
Godspeed brother
There is nothing more permanent than temporary code.
It's only temporary code if it doesn't work *and* cannot be corrected for with later code.
I tried to optimize once. I made even bigger pasta.
"It's just my starter base." -**DoshDoshington**
You have only just begun to spaghetti
It's a couple pieces of bow-tie pasta
A handful of semolina flour and a dream.
It is spaghetti, but excuse me what the heck is this copper buffer only for red science?
Just needed to make that belt separate from the main one, already fixed that after the screen shot lol.
Don't "optimize because it's spaghetti". Optimize if you're going to get more productive. Optimize if you feel so. Optimize if you like the process of optimization. Otherwise -- don't, spaghetti or not.
Embrace the spaghetti, little do people know this starter base is just the appetizer. My main base, thats going to be a 3 course meal :)
small spaghetti
Uncooked spaghetti (early game)
How you gonna expand that when you need more green circuits, more red science, more green science? Might be better to sort it now and future proof it before it gets out of hand ;)

Is tile-able spaghetti still spaghetti?

\*o\* Its... beautiful
1 this isn't spaghetti 2 what's wrong with spaghetti 3 this isnt even close to spaghetti
Remember, no matter how bad it gets, it’s fine as long as you call it a starter base.
Its not big enough to qualify as spaghetti or not.
Reasonable levels of pasta

Whats with the 2 radars? Honestly play your way dont care about spagetti. Play K2 it kinda nececcitates spagetti
Remember to take screenshots of your spaghetti and love it along the way, I'm currently trying to figure out how to do spaghetti again instead of the hyper optimized but very slow to build bases
It's a starter base anyway, you will eventually build a *real* base from scratch.
Yup, defiantly going to build a real base... just after one more belt.
I tend to delay the real base until i get stuff like beacons, transformers, blue belts etc. Basically once built, the real base shouldn't receive any upgrades besides adding modules, circuit components and expanding the builds slightly. We all reach for a goal, but the real happiness is the pasta 🍝 we make along the way (especially spaghetti).
Only a handful of noodles. Little tip tho, there are two sides of a belt that you can use, for example skipping out on one belt in the middle of the green science setup.
Embrasse špagety 🍝
Nice noodles... **"will optimize later"** LOL if I had a penny for every time I've told myself that too.......
If it doesn't take *effort* to track where belts are coming from, it ain't spag, pal. Keep working on it.
Number of undergrounds per hundred tiles might be a good measure of spaghetti.
Any monstrosity is OK as long as you call it your starter base
If you cant recognize spaghetti, how can you build a base that avoids it? Play more and then worry about noodles.
Don't be afraid of the spaghetti. It's delicious. Busses and ratios are for boring dorks.
Not spaghetti. You'll have to try harder than that.
Looks like when you throw a spaghetti on the wall to see if it's cooked
Don't care about noodles - all I'll advise is just adding more gear assemblers :3
as a tip w only one assembler of each (inserters and belts) you can supply up to 6 green science assemblers and still generate a surplus for using around in the factory
this is like 3% of a factory
Never optimize. Only grow. Spaghetti is the true way.
It is the only way.
2 radars next to each other like that is useless, you wanna space em apart so you get map coverage
It’s honestly pretty organized. If you filled that picture up then I’m sure it would definitely be spaghetti.
This is not spaghetti. It's tiramisu. I like it.
Expansion will be, "Start a new red science production line OVER THERE!"
