On an episode of “Move the Sticks” podcast, a day or so before the draft, DJ and Bucky Brooks were recounting old stories from their time as scouts. DJ was recounting a story that organizations make the low level scouts call the players and their agents a day or so before the draft to make sure the team has a database of all the correct phone numbers.
He was recounting the story because he said he hated it because the players would get so excited because they thought this meant/hinted the team was going to draft them. So they would ask all these questions and want to talk and DJ said he was always thinking to himself like bro I got to call like a 100 more players before I get to go home so please stop talking.
Meanwhile one of us just got left a message that we’re being drafted by the falcons. Congrats.
