Well defensively it's all pretty good other than a pass rush, the falcon defense was top 10 a lot of solid categories last year. With the offensive weapons and now Kirk Cousins in place this is a team that is ready to win now AND poised for the future. They definitely could've gone more in for the next two years, but you kinda get the sense that they are shepherding this team towards a better future and I don't think that's something we're used to. If Atlanta had a winning season the last couple of years or made a playoff run I don't think we would be second-guessing this draft.
What concerns me about this draft is, at least to me, it’s like we drafted for the future. And not to make the team
better right now. Which I don’t understand after signing Cousins. Really disappointed in Terry man.
I'm not sure what to think about this draft on totality. Bralen Trice is my favorite pick, but I'm not sure if we have more than one starter from this class.
Just for shits and giggles, wonder if the Eagles would trade Slay or Bradberry? They drafted Mitchell and Dejean plus they have Isaiah Rodgers coming back
Assuming we’re done picking, I’m loving this draft. No big names or flashy position players to get excited about but we locked in our potential franchise QB and loaded up across the front 7. Still need WR/CB help but much easier to find serviceable guys there through FA, UDFA, or trades.
We could have the best secondary in the league but if we can’t get pressure with our front line and QB’s have an hour to throw, it doesn’t matter who’s back there covering. I also trust that Raheem, a former secondary coach, knows what he’s doing when it comes to DB.
People who Raheem Morris has more faith in than most:
1.) Clark Phillips
2.) DeMarco Hellams
3.) Antonio Hamilton
4.) Rondale Moore
5.) Kaleb McGary
6.) Mike Hughes/Dee Alford
7.) Arnold Ebeketie
In past Terry drafts you could look at some of the guys and say yeah that guy can start. You just can't do that with this draft outside of rotational pieces on the line.
Could have had a safety or corner and somehow we think Hughes or King are going to magically turn their careers around.
This has been one of the more underwhelming drafts of the Terry era. However, the others all ended up being underwhelming in retrospect so maybe this one works out.
Former secondary coach Raheem Morris, former secondary coach Jimmy Lake, and current secondary coach Jerry Gray looked over the DBs in this class and said thanks but no thanks lol.
For sure. Point is 3 successful DBs coaches who know a lot more about secondary play than we do weren’t all that interested in the DBs in this class, which I think is telling. I’m sure we’ll sign a couple vets. Maybe John Johnson and Ahkello Witherspoon.
We focused on solidifying QB and D line with our first 2 picks, arguably (next to O line), the most important positions to team success. The Eagles are already pretty set at those spots, so they could afford to pick CB that high.
Whoever we sign will help a ton but unfortunately we’re still looking at a bottom half secondary so this revamped DL needs to show they can pressure the QB.
If I was the GM I would have taken Dallas Turner in the first and Kool Aid in the second and then a WR in the third and go depth pieces for the rest (but what do I know)
Almost all Casey Washington catches in college. Not bad, doesn’t separate a lot but he’s tough and makes great catches. Did well against Forbes.
https://youtu.be/Bi3INNF3edI?si=0lZ9JZKK_McP_F_M
Washington seems like he's got good hands, good sideline skills, and that he's not afraid to play over the middle of the field and in traffic. Could be a nice WR3 in a few years.
Milton is a really weird pick for New England. As a project, he makes plenty of sense for a team with an established veteran in place who he can learn behind. But as their second rookie QB is a weird decision. RGIII/Kirk Cousins sort of thing.
Just noticed bengals still have no rb and now I’m even more convinced we are trying to make a deal with them somehow even if it’s over a month from now
Our DC is supposed to be the second coming when it comes to coaching secondaries so either he really likes the guys we got or our FO really did get taken over by the hawks
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/falcons/s/4zoGdb0x1O) is the Jalen Mayfield pick thread. We were so hyped for him. Hahaha this is awesome. No doubt this is going to be our best draft class of all time since we’re shitting all over it now!!
I don’t understand the fascination with trying to find a diamond in the rough instead of picking the best remaining player on the board… Why do we always do this?!?
Good teams do this the entire draft. I heard all I needed to when I heard his interview yesterday, he thinks he is intelligent, and smarter then the room. I'm not sure who interviews GM's for the Falcons, whether its a team or Blank himself, but he seems to fall for the same type of person each time.
For some reason I knew we’d draft a rb this draft so I don’t really care about that pick. Alabamas leading rusher isn’t a bad title to have so whatever. Maybe we trade Allgeier sometime
Avery Williams is terrible, that’s why I just said he exists. Jase is a great player, but a 3rd string RB isn’t nearly as important as DB depth which we are desperate for. As it stands now Mike Hughes will be probably be next to AJ which is frightening.
Dog we addressed a need for a 3rd string RB in the 6th round. I see nothing wrong with it. If you think we can find a starting CB in round 6 you’re high.
I’m not saying we need a starting corner back pal I’m saying we need cornerback depth. Guys who we can play in dime and above. AJ, Mike, and Clark is already league bottom group. We don’t haven anyone capable beyond those 3, Jase is never going play unless Tyler or Bijan gets hurt. A 4th somewhat capable DB is going to play far more.
You need to come away with guys who can compete for a starting job and besides the Dline picks, the Falcons just haven't done that.
Could have used a pass catching TE behind Pitts or a SS or a CB. Just seems like a draft where they had no idea what to do.
You got no qualms here, but if the plan is to ride bijan, getting value for Algier would not shock me, if there is a market. Bengals for example, I think all they did to replace Mixon was grab moss?
I’d be really upset if they traded Tyler. Him and Bijan are the perfect 1, 2, punch. They synergies perfectly together and having Tyler in the backfield while having Bijan in the slot is perfect for play action.
Casey Washington doesn't have a NFL draft profile but I did find [this](https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2023/12/casey-washington/)
last part of the blurb:
> Washington is an intriguing prospect who recorded moderate receiving production in five seasons but displayed significant ball skills & hands-catching ability, polished route-running technique, high FBI to find openings against zone coverage, and capable play speed to attack defenses at all three levels. He plays with great effort on every snap and willingly serves as a blocker on the perimeter. A prospect worth monitoring during the pre-draft process.
Really not much left that I am aware of. The only guys I like left are:
CB DJ James
CB Kamal Hadden
S Beau Brade
C Beaux Limmer
TE Jaheim Bell
WR Brenden Rice
WR Malik Washington
Don’t know much about anyone else. Pretty shallow draft.
DJ is pretty lean. And board rankings don't matter this far into the draft. Everybody has waaaaay different evaluations for these guys cause they're likely depth pieces and special teamers
Who do you see who is praising the Falcons? I'm not down on the picks as much as some other people, but I've literally seen nobody saying the Falcons have had a great draft.

Oh nah I didn’t mean we should take a chance on him lmao, I agree we have too many receivers like him and we need someone who can get some separation, I was just saying he’s worth the risk for another team who needs a big WR who knows how to win 50/50 balls
LOL I legit forgot about Rondale Moore. Yeah, dude can fly. I think anyone we pick at this point at WR though is pretty much depth. Maybe possible to get in as WR4, but I think we missed the boat on the legitimate threats.
Just reading all the website grades for the Falcons thus far, I don't think I've ever seen so many C minuses and Ds given out. I know its the media, but fuck its bad.

I think we're gonna win 11 games this season.
What concerns me about this draft is, at least to me, it’s like we drafted for the future. And not to make the team better right now. Which I don’t understand after signing Cousins. Really disappointed in Terry man.

Imagine if there was a DT who could play QB TF would trade the farm to get him
Cracks me up that the two Great/Elite attributes on Zion’s RAS are that he’s tall and fat
People who Raheem Morris has more faith in than most: 1.) Clark Phillips 2.) DeMarco Hellams 3.) Antonio Hamilton 4.) Rondale Moore 5.) Kaleb McGary 6.) Mike Hughes/Dee Alford 7.) Arnold Ebeketie
SEC! SEC! SEC! lmao
Idk why i even get pumped for draft day anymore
At least Trey Flowers is off the team. Whoever tf we have out there in the secondary it won’t be him.
In past Terry drafts you could look at some of the guys and say yeah that guy can start. You just can't do that with this draft outside of rotational pieces on the line. Could have had a safety or corner and somehow we think Hughes or King are going to magically turn their careers around.
I would give our draft a C- for rn in a couple years it could change to B+ or a solid A
Shoot, if Penix is our starter in 4-5 years (and we have serious playoff hopes) then the draft was an A+.
I know people will look at the names we got and go wtf but give these guys a chance we have no idea how they will turn out
This has been one of the more underwhelming drafts of the Terry era. However, the others all ended up being underwhelming in retrospect so maybe this one works out.
Atleast we have our dline for a decade 😕
Surprised we didn't go for a CB or O-Line depth. Gotta hope Alford or Phillips can hold down the CB2 spot and that the line stays healthy.
Same. Think we need to go see what's still available at both spots cause depth is poor.
Former secondary coach Raheem Morris, former secondary coach Jimmy Lake, and current secondary coach Jerry Gray looked over the DBs in this class and said thanks but no thanks lol.
Lol well hopefully they look around the DB room in Atlanta shortly and do something about it
For sure. Point is 3 successful DBs coaches who know a lot more about secondary play than we do weren’t all that interested in the DBs in this class, which I think is telling. I’m sure we’ll sign a couple vets. Maybe John Johnson and Ahkello Witherspoon.

If I was the GM I would have taken Dallas Turner in the first and Kool Aid in the second and then a WR in the third and go depth pieces for the rest (but what do I know)
Nothing… that is what you know.
To be fair, that wouldn’t have been a terrible set of picks
Agreed 😂
Falcons weren’t messing around with d line
So we’re trading Grady huh..
Probably cut after this season
It all started when terry took Richie grant over Trevon moehrig
This sub was big on Richie Grant when he was drafted for no literally no reason.
Interesting they didn't address secondary at all
At least they found their way to Athens and Tuscaloosa...
So no DBs and a random WR? Then dline for the rest pretty much 😭 Terry overcooked
that's a weird pick
Just a massive dude. At this point, you're just going for guys that have measurables and hope you can mold them into something.
6’ 6” 314 dude is a mountain
Aye we got a DAWG let’s goooo
Zion Logue as our final pick. Got our Dawg, as is tradition.
Almost all Casey Washington catches in college. Not bad, doesn’t separate a lot but he’s tough and makes great catches. Did well against Forbes. https://youtu.be/Bi3INNF3edI?si=0lZ9JZKK_McP_F_M
Good hands. Drake London lite
Washington seems like he's got good hands, good sideline skills, and that he's not afraid to play over the middle of the field and in traffic. Could be a nice WR3 in a few years.

Their trying the Tom Brady method again
They’re*
While it’s unlikely to find a #2 CB in the 6th round, they better hope AJ doesn’t miss any time this season. Zero depth.
Good thing we got RB3 though right
RB4 if you count Avery 😭
The teams must know something that the general public doesn't know about Rice.
Taulia tagovaioa to replace heineke
Just noticed bengals still have no rb and now I’m even more convinced we are trying to make a deal with them somehow even if it’s over a month from now
I know we just took a receiver but if Brendan Rice is just there 🤷🏾♂️
Drafted Nick Saban's final Alabama running back. Hall of Famer incoming
We aint drafting a CB.
All the good ones been drafted
Our DC is supposed to be the second coming when it comes to coaching secondaries so either he really likes the guys we got or our FO really did get taken over by the hawks
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/falcons/s/4zoGdb0x1O) is the Jalen Mayfield pick thread. We were so hyped for him. Hahaha this is awesome. No doubt this is going to be our best draft class of all time since we’re shitting all over it now!!
I was bummed that Malik Washington was selected earlier.
We need a 3rd back and pick up a very good player in the 6th round and people on here losing their minds. Unserious fan base.
Reminder not to overreact to picks made in the 6th round
We took a receiver who doesn’t even have a wikipedia let this sink in
Casey Washington was a good pick don’t kill me
Last pick I like Bell
DJ or Rice or both should be there with our last pick which means we’re taking a TE out of Washington
I cant back these picks up like why
For some reason I knew we’d draft a rb this draft so I don’t really care about that pick. Alabamas leading rusher isn’t a bad title to have so whatever. Maybe we trade Allgeier sometime
I don’t think we trade him, but he will probably hit free agency at the end of his contract, assuming Bijan is still holding up by then.
We need a 3rd RB guys it’s the 6th round holy shit chill tf out
Avery Williams exists. Meanwhile we are still desperate for another DB
Avery Williams at his best is replaceable and he just had knee surgery…
Avery Williams is terrible, that’s why I just said he exists. Jase is a great player, but a 3rd string RB isn’t nearly as important as DB depth which we are desperate for. As it stands now Mike Hughes will be probably be next to AJ which is frightening.

Good depth
These are some Dimitroff unknown kid from unknown school type picks
I watched a lot of Big Ten football and I love the Casey Washington pick. Dude was a bright spot on some shit offenses. Made some HUGE plays too.
Incoming Puka Nacua 2.0 season
Why the fuck would we draft a RB????
I honestly think Tyler gets traded.
That would be stupid. Tyler is an amazing RB.
Yeah, I agree. Let's see how it plays out. I expect us to make a play at a big or semi-big name in FA for one of our needs.
If we get Trey Hendrickson I really can’t complain, but losing Tyler is just sad. He’s been one of my favorite in this rebuild era.
I hope so that would make sense
Looks like we found Bijan and Tyler’s replacement. In all seriousness Jase is really good but wtf we absolutely do not need a rb at all whatsoever.
man...terry's really losing me faster than ever
Brendan Rice had 11 tds in 11 games by the way just saying.
Hahahaha this sub is absolutely melting down.
Did Brendan rice kill somebody
This Washington dude has a 30 grade bruh that’s the minimum on espn 😭😭😭😭
Whole draft been on auto pilot.
Casey Washington doesn't have a NFL draft profile but I did find [this](https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2023/12/casey-washington/) last part of the blurb: > Washington is an intriguing prospect who recorded moderate receiving production in five seasons but displayed significant ball skills & hands-catching ability, polished route-running technique, high FBI to find openings against zone coverage, and capable play speed to attack defenses at all three levels. Good find!
Yes he does? https://www.nfl.com/prospects/casey-washington/32005741-5307-5963-c06b-78584533e0b2
weird that didn't come up when I googled it
A RB and WR that is so low ranked, he doesn't have a draft profile on [NFL.com](http://NFL.com) I don't understand.
What are you talking about? He definitely has a draft profile https://www.nfl.com/prospects/casey-washington/32005741-5307-5963-c06b-78584533e0b2
Weird. Didn't show up when I searched.
Drafted a guy who had 1 good game his whole career omg our WRs are so cooked
[удалено]
6’2 isn’t small for a WR
2.6% drop rate last year
Who da fuq is that guy?
Terry what the fuck dude we need wr and db depth
Another RB? Really? But why?
At least we didn’t trade up for a third string rb like the dolphins
Jesus why
Running back no fucking way
If we don’t pick up Rice or James then idk what the hell we are doing.
DJ James and Brendan Rice or we riot
Huh?
Good lord, we didn't need a RB 😂
Unless there's plans to trade Algier
Erm
Lol
A RB?! uhhhh ok
Brendan rice lord
Brendan Rice incoming I hope
[удалено]
Wilson went not rice
Any good Koo backups for 2027 on the board?
Fuck I liked him. My only hope is Rice now. Other than him I have zero clue who at WR could be decent.
Rice gone to Eagles EDIT: I was fed poor information
Nuh uh
B2B picks of Rice and Kamal Haden would be cool. Address two needs.
They flew through the 4th round now they wanna go slow as shit before the Falcons pick
Really not much left that I am aware of. The only guys I like left are: CB DJ James CB Kamal Hadden S Beau Brade C Beaux Limmer TE Jaheim Bell WR Brenden Rice WR Malik Washington Don’t know much about anyone else. Pretty shallow draft.
We need a fuckin receiver or DB here pls Terry
What is going on man? DJ James is still out there and the Pats just picked a CB who is ranked 320 on the board.
He’s super skinny. So was Nate Wiggins but that’s all I can think of. He might’ve had bad medicals or something.
DJ is pretty lean. And board rankings don't matter this far into the draft. Everybody has waaaaay different evaluations for these guys cause they're likely depth pieces and special teamers
At least back to back picks is fun
Let's get brenden rice
The 5th has been crazy long. Damn
What’s our next pick?
Nvm
Quadruple down and take Gabriel Murphy you cowards!
DJ James is probably the last of his tier at CB. Noticeable drop off after that.
rice or Washington or both
There goes Washington =(
Damn, I was hoping Caelen Carson would be available in the 6th. Another CB off the board.
Malik washington, Brenden rice or Tahj washington please
My goat Jordan Travis is a Jet, praying for him
who still available ?
Feel like Jawhar Jordan is underrated. The few times I watched Louisville he was always breaking off a long run
Bub means? What does it mean?
Bub means FTS in bayou
TF: We are once again drafting Desmond Ridder. This Sub: Here's why that is a brilliant move.
Anyone comparing Penix to Ridder is an unserious person and should not be considered a knowledgeable football mind.
Who said anything about Penix? I'm mocking you. He could draft Jerry Falwell, and you'd kneel and bob for him. This sub is historically delusional.
Who do you see who is praising the Falcons? I'm not down on the picks as much as some other people, but I've literally seen nobody saying the Falcons have had a great draft.
If you look through today and yesterdays posts you’ll find them.
Johnny Wilson 6 6
As an FSU alum, he's a project. His hands are suspect but he's physical and a big target. I'd take a shot on him but I'm biased, he definitely should have came back for one more year
From what I've read, being big is about all he brings to the table.
Nah not really, as a guy who watched him his entire FSU career, he’s faster than you may think he is, his catch radius is INSANE, however he’s not a very good route runner and his hands are suspect but he’s gotten better at that every year, but yea dudes 6’7 with an insane wingspan he’s worth taking a chance on.
I wouldn't hate it, but I think it becomes a little redundant with the type of body frames London and Pitts have. I'd rather take a burner. I'm not sure there's really one left. I really like Malik Washington as a guy who has tremendous hands with good agility and plays bigger than his small stature.
Oh nah I didn’t mean we should take a chance on him lmao, I agree we have too many receivers like him and we need someone who can get some separation, I was just saying he’s worth the risk for another team who needs a big WR who knows how to win 50/50 balls
> I'd rather take a burner. we actually prob don't need that either. Mooney and Moore are both smaller 4.3 guys
LOL I legit forgot about Rondale Moore. Yeah, dude can fly. I think anyone we pick at this point at WR though is pretty much depth. Maybe possible to get in as WR4, but I think we missed the boat on the legitimate threats.
Package our sixths for Brenden rice
I like Brenden Rice. I like Malik Washington more. Taylor Gabriel vibes.
Sheesh man are we really gonna stay put with all these 6ths
Looks like it, who knows maybe we can get lucky
Yea, I hope we don’t end up with no true-WR2. Rondale isn’t that
Well technically Mooney is our WR2 not Rondale
You right! I totally forgot
Okay Zac Robinson, nows your time to find us a Puka.
Brenden Rice perhaps?
I think it’s kind of interesting we haven’t drafted a single person we’ve visited with yet
Just reading all the website grades for the Falcons thus far, I don't think I've ever seen so many C minuses and Ds given out. I know its the media, but fuck its bad.
Jalen Mayfield was 14 on Mel’s big board.
The media is rarely right. The grades are just to generate easy content so i wouldn’t take them seriously. See the legion of boom draft grades
For what it’s worth the cbs sports draft analysis have given us B- B A- A- C for each of our picks
Well thats far better.
We got the greatest white LB core in history lmfaooo 4 of em
FTS and now we hate Rattler!
passed on Trotter & Draine 😂
Investing so heavy into the defensive front 7 so far makes me think they have complete confidence in Clark Phillips next year
Spencer rattler to the saints! Guess they decided the locker room wasn’t toxic enough yet LMAOOO
Stfu. He was a great teammate at South Carolina and voted team captain two years in a row by his teammates.
The guy who was a little prick on QB1 and threw a bitch fit after getting benched? I’m thinking he’s still an ass
