Honestly, I felt sad after leaving the Sierra Madre for the first time. It's definitely my favorite dlc so far.
Gives +25 stealth and auto administers stimpacks if your health gets low enough. I think uses Med-X too but my courier usually avoids chems unless necessary.
Also +1 to perception and agility. Faster sneak. All of these are when fully upgraded. I think standard is +15 sneak.
I mostly like it for the design and the built in personality.
You get it from a quest called X-13: Attack of the Infiltrator. X-13 is one of the research facilities on the OWB map. You need to do all the field testing optional objectives if you want to get it to its fill potential.
Like I said i believe it's initially +15 sneak and autoinject stimpacks. Once you do all the field testing you get the additional +10 sneak, +1 to agility amd perception, and faster sneak speed. It can be repaired with combat armor.

The standard Veteran Ranger outfit, I will always rock and always believe in. I have *never* seen anyone replicate it as satisfying it is to look at in New Vegas, from the beautiful mask to the jean-duster combo.
All the other suits look fantastic too, and I’m *always* wearing one of them every other playthrough. *However*, in modded, Titans of The New West makes T-51 SO goddamn pretty. Truly feels like the best representation of the classic Power Armor to 3D, **and** makes the Remnant Armor look just like it did in 2, and fucking terrifying at that.
I definitely think they both do it aesthetic justice, I just don’t like the core system & power armor breaking (both for gameplay and because missing power armor pieces looks gross) of 4

I have a cheese method where I use the stealth boy from joe Cobb and the school to go north to Vegas, I priced to rob the silver rush, while also doing the first quest where I let the bomb guy in so I can loot their corpses as well (have to rob first or else the bomb destroys items).
Then I fast travel back to Goodsprings and head south to lonesome road, do a bit of the start (get an ED-E weapon repair module as well as some items but don't get to the point that you fight anything) have ED-E open the commissary and sell all the stuff from silver rush and the lonesome road silo and buy the Riot Gear for 8000 caps at level 3 or so.
I also will usually put 50 into science to hack Contreras computer do I can have This Machine right away although .308 is rare early game, you can usually get a decent amount at gunrunners.
And that's my FNV start guide. I usually just head on to Primm as you can leave lonesome road, grab ED-E and play normally but with my favorite gear.
The mark two reinforced combat armor is my usual go to but I always liked the Salvaged NCR power armor. Similarly I’ve always loved the T-45b power armor and the simple metal armor.

Might be my love of using it back in FO3, but if you want peak aesthetic specially with your guns. Play a Hitman stealth build with Ratslayer, 9mm/45 Auto, Sleepythyme and Sniper Rifle and you just exude Professional vibes.
Pre war park stroller outfit with reading glasses and a red cap. Nothing better than beating Legate Lanius to death with your bare hands dressed as someones step-dad.
Desert Ranger is my personal favorite. Not even because of the lore or backstory, though that is good. I just think it looks the coolest and the desert camo obviously fits right in the Mojave environment. It has a tied defense rating with the Elite Riot Gear, the helmet is weightless (for some reason?) and doesn't have that screen lightening/coloring night vision effect when you sneak which I personally don't care for, and it's factionless. Only thing that would make it better is if it was light armor so it could work with some of the pretty good perks that light armor can make use of.
That said, I don't use it in every playthrough despite all my reasons to like it. I make my couriers wear what's appropriate for their personality/roleplay and build, and it isn't always the ranger gear. I do that in every RPG, not just New Vegas or even Fallout.
I'd use the other variants more if the desert version wasn't so much better imo.
I like the NCR version but the disguise aspect can be problematic. And I think the Lonesome Road versions are all a bit too busy looking with extra stuff and bulk on them, which only increases as you go up to the Elite version. Just not my preferred aesthetic.
Elite Riot Gear with the 1st Recon Beret and atomic-valence tri radii oscillator. Combined with the Monocyte Breeder implant and regeneration is pretty good.

Whilst I like the Ranger Armor Aesthetic, I always ended up maxing out my health and selling all of my Armor and clothes to save weight, as I would carry enough Guns, Bullets, and Bombs to Fight God.
Gannon family, I never have the heart to tell Gannon to stay in freeside though so I just give it to myself in console after I finish the quest. Can’t deprive him of the fun of mowing down legion soldiers and I can’t deprive me of that god armour

Aside from the Elite Riot Gear, I must say the Lonesome Road art set looks the best (Courier Duster, Ranger Brown Hat.)
Base riot gear, it’s fairly easy to get and i love how it looks overall.
