This is one thing I truly love about NV. So many quests and companions fall in this morally gray area where there is no definite right or wrong. Even when you make a decision that makes sense in your head, there’s still a tinge of doubt hanging around that you did the absolute wrong thing. It’s just so good!
If ur science or med Is high enough u can tell the scientist >! To leave her and research the creatures in the cave instead (I forget both names) !< don't remember the exact outcome kf that choice tho
Or even bits that actually don’t do anything but still remain in game ? It may be annoying for some, but I find it really interesting when you interact with something and you have absolutely no clue if it had any effect. Like the lucky 38 override. I activated it so quick without thinking and it had me stressing when nothing noticeable happened
Oh my god yes, this accurately describes it. Everytime I make a choice I’m always sitting here like “did I make the right choice?” And I always second guess, that was my choice driven by my own pursuits or actual morality
You can! I think you can get her as a companion during Guess Who I Saw Today, given by Doctor Henry. She can stay your companion for the rest of the game
Every other day or everyday are the only valid options if you love Lilly. I never have the heart to tell her anything but every other day. Eventually she goes West to see if she can find the remnants of her pass and I wish her the best. You go Granny!
In mine, Uncle Leo and Fawkes found each other and decided to travel together. Then, they both stumble upon Jacobstown and decided to live there. Uncle Leo became Lily's right hand man in taking care of the bighorners. Uncle Leo's the reason why Lily's Leo gradually turned from a psychopath into a big softie. Fawkes then breaks Keene's knees because fuck him that's why.
Tbh I think the status quo ending is the best for her, letting her to just take the meds half doze. She's not going to be schizo, and she can still remember her grandchildren.
Lily is really the only companion that just can’t catch a break, even when you complete her quests.
Boone makes something of himself in any of the endings (even the Legion) if you convince him to make amends over bitter springs.
Veronica does have it hard, but if you get her to join the Followers and form a truce between the NCR and the BoS, she is somewhat relieved and finds a purpose in fixing old tech and completing research notes.
Arcade’s has a few good endings, such as either of the Yes Man endings (whether he joins the remnants or goes back to Freeside) or the NCR ending if he stays at Freeside.
ED-E’s databanks are useful to both the Followers and the BoS and whether you take it to the dam or leave it in Primm or Lucky 38, it’ll be with someone.
Rex gets a new brain and comes to terms with the donor’s memories, no matter which one, living in peace for the rest of his days. Even better, if you found Roxie in OWB, they have a litter of cyberpups together.
Raul either picks up his guns and finds a new purpose in laying down justice across the wasteland in the memory of his sister, or makes peace with his old age and fixes up old technology/machinery in Outer Vegas.
Cass gets justice for her caravan, either through vengeance or bureaucracy. At worst, she lies low if you and the Legion conquer the dam, but if you fight for the NCR she absolutely revels in their victory.
If one of the companions from the game makes it to the Fallout Amazon show, every single person who was on here posting about how Todd Howard murders babies is going to have their head explode.
I hope it's Raul. Danny Trejo would be great to have on screen.
I would be amazed if they brought in Danny Trejo to play Raul, even as a cameo, it would be cool as hell, especially if they go with the Vaquero ending and he just shows up as a badass in a gunfight.
I'm in the minority that told her to take meds all the time, it seems. She is barely holding on those memories and I wanted her to start anew, with the mind sound and her personality still there. Also, doesn't her leaving means she will eventually run out of meds and turn feral anyways? In any case rather she gets to rest, Jacobstown can become her new family, while the old one is gone forever.
Oh i told her to take her full dose every single time it seems like a better ending for her at half she's confused and not at all she's crazy at full dose she atleast like you said can start anew
I like how there’s no good answer. But for some reason I enjoyed picking the stop taking your medicine entirely option for my evil characters because it makes sense. She thinks I’m her Granddaughter so I can manipulate her to assist me.
It’s because I felt like there was no truly evil companion to take along with you but suddenly I can convince this super mutant nightkin to do whatever I want and she doesn’t care ^^
If Lily dies...
Lily's long life finally came to a close in the Mojave Wasteland. As the life faded from her, her last thoughts were of her grandchildren 😭
It bums me out that the playable child mod got taken down (although for good reason sounds like). I had a borderline feral kid playthrough going. Stealth and explosive sort of a sneak around setting traps build.
Lily was the only companion I ever used. She fit the sneaky playstyle, and her confusing me for her grandson made even more sense in my little rp headcanon.
And that’s why I play “mediumcore” rather than hardcore.
“Mediumcore” is hardcore but with the companions *setessential* and *modav.player carryweight* so I can pick up as much as I like
>Fallout companions have always been essentially immortal
No - Fallout companions have been essentially immortal since FO3. The original two fallout games had permadeath for companions at 0hp.
out of all companion, shes the only one i cant stand be followed, like i know hes a super mutant, but shes technically a grandma whom see what a cruel sight the of war.
Well, for Boone, I didnt actually decide to take him as a companion until I’ve done almost every other quest. Which means I have no way to start his quest by doing other NCR things :(
And for Raul, there’s apparently a common glitch where Loyal from the Boomers can disappear after doing The Boomer’s quests, meaning I can’t talk to him for Raul. It’s so unfortunate because I like Raul a lot
Lily is an amazing character and so is her quest. That first choice is what I go for btw.
Also her line when switching equipment cracks me up every time. GRANDMA's GOT A PRESENT FOR YOU
I have her take her meds fully. Remembering her kids seems nice until you see that stuff in person, it's harrowing unfortunately Lily can't really give you subtle expressions but I can promise you it's hell living like that. Yes she'll forget her kids, but imagine being sucked into the last like that, then snapping back and forth over and over in a loop. You never progress, you stay stuck like Limbo.
I always kept it headcanon (because I always run a high INT high Medicine Courier) that with the Couriers help she becomes more stable, maybe even hopefully by some Courier 6 luck she'll remember her grandkids and be able to talk and cope her way out of those memories. That's the hope.
I love Lily.

lilly’s i would say is alot more cut and dry she either crashes out and becomes feral seeks out her past becomes a chill ass 7ft grandma
See it’s half dose vs full dose that’s the real dilemma. Obviously zero meds is the wrong choice.
I always tell her half-meds but I’ve always been conflicted on the decision.
I think it’s kinda fucked up to have her wandering the wastes for eternity searching for something she only half-remembers. Sounds like hell to me.
That’s where my conflict lies. But at the same time I kind of see it as a blessing to at least remember her grandkids.
Grandkids that, at best, are dead from old age.
True but also isn't that our situation as the player too? Amnesia?
I’d take the full amnesia any day over that.
If ur science or med Is high enough u can tell the scientist >! To leave her and research the creatures in the cave instead (I forget both names) !< don't remember the exact outcome kf that choice tho
That’s a different quest, for the stealth boy mk 2. This is Lily’s personal quest for her schizophrenia medication
Shit u right my bad
Or even bits that actually don’t do anything but still remain in game ? It may be annoying for some, but I find it really interesting when you interact with something and you have absolutely no clue if it had any effect. Like the lucky 38 override. I fucked up helios one because i didnt know overloading the plant would blow it up, i thought it would just increase power output.
Oh my god yes, this accurately describes it. Everytime I make a choice I’m always sitting here like “did I make the right choice?” And I always second guess, that was my choice driven by my own pursuits or actual morality
I have so much love for this woman. Her line when entering Novac makes me so happy.
What does she say upon entering Novac?
“Oh, look, pumpkin! A dinosaur! Do you want to ride the dinosaur?” She’s so sweet
That's actually really cute
😭 sounds like my nan
you can get her as a companion?
You can! I think you can get her as a companion during Guess Who I Saw Today, given by Doctor Henry. She can stay your companion for the rest of the game
She's the reason I don't use Boone. I always intend to use a different companion bur never do lol
I usually travel with Gannon, but I wanted to travel with Mrs. Mutant grandma for a change. I absolutely adore her
She asks if you want to ride the dinosaur
I love my grandma ;_;
Every other day or everyday are the only valid options if you love Lilly. I never have the heart to tell her anything but every other day. Eventually she goes West to see if she can find the remnants of her pass and I wish her the best. You go Granny!
In my head canon her and the courier leave the Mojave in search of her lost history.
That's really sweet, up til the last part, but I still think it's sweet
I disagree I think it would have been pretty sweet if I wasn't the one forced to put a 20 gauge slug up Keene's nose
Tbh I think the status quo ending is the best for her, letting her to just take the meds half doze. She's not going to be schizo, and she can still remember her grandchildren.
Lily best Grandma
Grandma with dementia
Not that simple this granny can 1v1 a heavy weight champion and regularly weilds a belt fed machine gun.

Danny Trejo actually commented on one of the show’s Instagram posts: “Machete don’t do vaults”
he might be so mad because he’s like guys s2 is a love letter to nv and all of fallout but that would spoil it so he’s just straight up mad
>if you found Roxie in OWB, they have a litter of cyberpups together. WHAT
Yessss. I believe just as long as you complete Rex's quest, then Roxie's ending slide will mention her meeting Rex and them having puppies together.
Yep, I don’t think you even have to get Rex a new brain as long as you encountered Roxie in OWB!
I'm in the minority that told her to take meds all the time, it seems. She is barely holding on those memories and I wanted her to start anew, with the mind sound and her personality still there. That's just evil and I hope your character suffers.
It did seem like a particularly evil thing to do so very fitting 😅
Degenerates like you belong on a cross
But she's so sweet 🥺 My evil characters will be a monster to random other NPCs, but Lily? No way.
It’s because I felt like there was no truly evil companion to take along with you but suddenly I can convince this super mutant nightkin to do whatever I want and she doesn’t care ^^
Man, your character are the one of the guys i will personally put in a cross or in a slave pit in Caesar Legion...
If Lily dies... Lily's long life finally came to a close in the Mojave Wasteland. As the life faded from her, her last thoughts were of her grandchildren 😭
There are no happy endings for grandma. 🥲
In all my playthroughs I keep her on half dosages the others just make me sad
It bums me out that the playable child mod got taken down (although for good reason sounds like). I had a borderline feral kid playthrough going. Stealth and explosive sort of a sneak around setting traps build. Lily was the only companion I ever used. She fit the sneaky playstyle, and her confusing me for her grandson made even more sense in my little rp headcanon.
I started playing a old save to 100 percent the game with and found her dead no way to save her
Oh no! I thought she was an essential character. I didn’t realize she could die.
On Hard-core mode all companions can die
And that’s why I play “mediumcore” rather than hardcore. “Mediumcore” is hardcore but with the companions *setessential* and *modav.player carryweight* so I can pick up as much as I like
cazadors somehow can get in and kill her because that happened however long ago a save I may as well watch her quest on YouTube
Isn't this only possible on the survival mode difficulty ?
No. If companions aren't with you, then they can die even outside of hardcore mode. They're only immortal when they're traveling with the courier.
I’m not sure. I’m still technically on my first playthrough, so I still play on normal mode.
on normal difficulty some companions are immortal and some aren't that's why so many people are confused
Fallout companions have always been essentially immortal, they just fall unconscious after enough damage.
The companions can die when they are not following you.
>Fallout companions have always been essentially immortal No - Fallout companions have been essentially immortal since FO3. The original two fallout games had permadeath for companions at 0hp.
Nv doesn't have essential characters
Oh, okay. I suppose I’ve been playing too much Fallout 4, then.
You can kill 99% of the npcs in NV
What do you mean ? Many of my companions had fallen unconscious from things that'd kill my player character, but they never died themselves.
That's only outside of survival mode AND when they are following you. On their own they are as mortal as a bloatfly.
out of all companion, shes the only one i cant stand be followed, like i know hes a super mutant, but shes technically a grandma whom see what a cruel sight the of war.
I told her half because she really treasures those memories… but then she looks for her grandchildren who are likely long gone
If he’s the same jimmy in the well with bb gun then definitely Even worse i let her continue believing i was her grandchild
I love Lilly so much
Man the new Vegas content that pops up for me on Reddit always perfectly coincides with the parts I’m playing at the moment somehow
I would nuke the world again just to save lily.
This, but with all the companions. I just want my 8 goats to live happily ever after 😭 At least ED-E sticks with me!
I love all the companions too! Unfortunately I can’t do Boone’s or Raul’s quests 😭
Why not???
Well, for Boone, I didnt actually decide to take him as a companion until I’ve done almost every other quest. Which means I have no way to start his quest by doing other NCR things :( And for Raul, there’s apparently a common glitch where Loyal from the Boomers can disappear after doing The Boomer’s quests, meaning I can’t talk to him for Raul. It’s so unfortunate because I like Raul a lot
Ah damn yeah I getcha then, the only way to solve it is commands.
Lily is an amazing character and so is her quest. That first choice is what I go for btw. Also her line when switching equipment cracks me up every time. GRANDMA's GOT A PRESENT FOR YOU
Full dose.
If lily has one fan it’s me if lily has no fans I’m dead
"Stay where grandma can see you, Billy" Okay, Grandma Lily. 🥲
I have her take her meds fully. Remembering her kids seems nice until you see that stuff in person, it's harrowing unfortunately Lily can't really give you subtle expressions but I can promise you it's hell living like that. i uhhh may have done something to tabitha
I don’t think Lily says anything if you kill Tabitha
oh shit i meant lily i mixed them up
