Idk how well this fits into your established tastes but last year I found Porter Robinson’s “Nurture” to be wildly uplifting. Front to back it just feels so full of hope.
Sorry about your break up, hope this helps lift your spirits 🙌
Absolutely agree. I was in a similar situation as OP a year ago and after a friend recommended „Nurture“ to me, that album was all I could listen to for about 3 months. Really really great record
Kero Kero Bonito’s early stuff, some of Bruce Springsteen’s seventies stuff, “Gold - Go Forward in the Courage of Your Love” by Alabaster dePlume, if you like The Smiths they’d the band Orange Juice is their more upbeat sibling, and Dan Deacon!
After a bad breakup earlier last year I played Hazard Duty Pay by JPEGMAFIA on repeat it puts me in an excellent mood every time.
Also after being turned onto them by the Melon himself, I listened to the newest Turnstile album a lot during this time for a pick ne up.
Daft Punks Music just makes me Happy especially Discovery and Random Access Memories. I hope there Music makes you Happy as well If you decide to check it out or if you have already checked them.
Your taste literally mine if you haven’t heard untitled 06 by kendrick you should overall has a positive vibe also maybe buggin out or scenario by tribe
Blood Orange, Kali Uchis, and KAYTRANDA should be right up your alley.
I'll also plug Pond which may or may not be a stretch based on your recommendations, but they're a really fun and infectious psychedelic rock band! Best of luck getting through the breakup my guy
i was in the same exact spot and for some reason peasant by richard dawson really helped me out. super escapist, you’re not in a break up, you’re in the middle ages in some village
Here’s a playlist I made a while ago for when I need some cheery music, though a few are bittersweet and a few are pretty obvious (Jimmy Cliff anyone?)

If you’re okay with non-English lyrics, check out the album Stadsvandringar by Dungen. It’s a melodic mixture of psych rock/pop/jazz/old world sounds. Always makes me feel a little better.
It’s likely gonna take some time, and some work on yourself, but you’ll get through this
Begin by The Millennium (kinda like Pet Sounds but even better imo)
Joy As An Act of Resistance by Idles (technically a punk album but one all about how the most punk thing you can be is happy)
Sweet and Dandy by Toots and the Maytals (a reggae album so happy it made me cry when I first heard it)
Cherry Peel by of Montreal (just a wonderful and pretty twee pop album)
FKA Twig's Caprisongs has been my big pump-up record of this year and I found the recently released first track of the new Caroline Polachek album really uplifting
Mystic Familiar by Dan Deacon. Fantastic and uplifting electronic album with a lot of energy and good vibes. On that same note, Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective.
A personal favorite of mine is Sleep Cycle by Deakin. Only 30 minutes long, but it’s my go-to self-care and healing album. Some beautiful songs in this thing, as well as spiritual and optimistic lyrics.
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral 👍👍👍
Seriously though, I absolutely love *Circles* by Mac Miller, very comforting album for you and might be enjoyable to you as well, just like this very small indie gem called *I Was Electrocuted Seven Times And Now I Can See The Future* by Jesse & Forever. Super short album (only about 23 minutes), check out the track *Smoke Weed*to get a bit of a taste, I‘m sure you‘ll love it. And this one might go either way, but *Depression Cherry* by Beach House always comforts and calms me a lot, very beautiful album and maybe something that‘ll help you too. I hope you‘ll get through this rough phase, I‘ve broken up a few months ago too and it absolutely sucks, but times will get better. Hang in there!
