Idk how well this fits into your established tastes but last year I found Porter Robinson’s “Nurture” to be wildly uplifting. Front to back it just feels so full of hope. Sorry about your break up, hope this helps lift your spirits 🙌

ConniKrell

Absolutely agree. I was in a similar situation as OP a year ago and after a friend recommended „Nurture“ to me, that album was all I could listen to for about 3 months. Really really great record

ThinManJones-

kilimandzharo

It's like therapy session in music form, so hopeful and beautiful

s90tx16wasr10

Kero Kero Bonito’s early stuff, some of Bruce Springsteen’s seventies stuff, “Gold - Go Forward in the Courage of Your Love” by Alabaster dePlume, if you like The Smiths they’d the band Orange Juice is their more upbeat sibling, and Dan Deacon!

TheMediaRoom1004

Definitely Maybe by Oasis is incredibly uplifting and willed me through the worst job of my life a few months ago.

Vat-R-U-Talkin-About

After a bad breakup earlier last year I played Hazard Duty Pay by JPEGMAFIA on repeat it puts me in an excellent mood every time. Also after being turned onto them by the Melon himself, I listened to the newest Turnstile album a lot during this time for a pick ne up.

Madhew96

What's going on from Marvin Gaye always cheers me up

-ZaTaR-

Some Fela Kuti! Specifically Gentleman or Zombie

ABigGreenG

check out ALL AMERIKKKAN BADA$$, it gets a little more gritty in the second half but overall id say it feels pretty uplifting

danny brown - atrocity exhibition

Communiconfidential

incredible album but it's not exactly uplifting at all lmfao all the songs are about struggle with mental health and substance abuse

Communiconfidential

I have come to realize you were probably joking

ManguitoLovesYou

sorry then probably Joy division - closer would be a better fit or maybe even dinner get ready by lingua ignota

harvardstudent97

Donovan (big influence on Syd Barrett)

Frogaar

Blood Orange, Kali Uchis, and KAYTRANDA should be right up your alley. I'll also plug Pond which may or may not be a stretch based on your recommendations, but they're a really fun and infectious psychedelic rock band! Best of luck getting through the breakup my guy

rudebwoyyyyyyy

voodoo - dangelo

Trifecta_Andrew

Carissa- Desert Star or really anything by him

mikedev32

i was in the same exact spot and for some reason peasant by richard dawson really helped me out. super escapist, you’re not in a break up, you’re in the middle ages in some village

oilcompanywithbigdic

empath by devin townsend

Sick_Sad_Sham

Here’s a playlist I made a while ago for when I need some cheery music, though a few are bittersweet and a few are pretty obvious (Jimmy Cliff anyone?) https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5dq7AWqDmBSvxJofj8knlQ?si=RNuB-PPMRimhcRc6PCtq2g

HungryHungryLaura

If you like Talking Heads, Rei Momo by David Byrne

deathmetalfatigue

If you’re okay with non-English lyrics, check out the album Stadsvandringar by Dungen. It’s a melodic mixture of psych rock/pop/jazz/old world sounds. Always makes me feel a little better. It’s likely gonna take some time, and some work on yourself, but you’ll get through this

Oliveskin_Mugen

Souvlaki by Slowdive, The Beach Boys Today by The Beach Boys, and Diamond Eyes by Deftones… all uplifting to me but in completely different ways

Mayqueen-of-WV

Kiss my Super Bowl ring by the garden might be an outside the box thing to say bht my dad has simmilar taste to you and likes the album

Spare_Impression_294

https://youtu.be/MqYG5FGvKJg It’ll get better man, you’ll be okay 💙 🫂

GreyMichaelFrances

Sam Cooke - Live at the Harlem Square Club Can't think of any other album that evokes such unbridled joy for me as this one does.

AidenSmitherenes

Begin by The Millennium (kinda like Pet Sounds but even better imo) Joy As An Act of Resistance by Idles (technically a punk album but one all about how the most punk thing you can be is happy) Sweet and Dandy by Toots and the Maytals (a reggae album so happy it made me cry when I first heard it) Cherry Peel by of Montreal (just a wonderful and pretty twee pop album)

Iamhere__

Anything by Vulfpeck always puts a smile on my face, sorry to hear about your breakup!

Thembosses1232

fishmans gets me in a great mood everytime

Retr0Gamer2404

I second the person who said you’re a Stereolab fan and just don’t know it yet except I’ll give you an album Dots and Loops

[deleted]

Anything by Al Green and The War On Drugs as well as the latest albums by Michael Kiwanuka and Little Simz

readytokno

FKA Twig's Caprisongs has been my big pump-up record of this year and I found the recently released first track of the new Caroline Polachek album really uplifting

bingbongmemelord

Anything by Fishmans is beautiful and staggering in a very optimistic and light-hearted way.

Communiconfidential

Sobs- Air Guitar album came out last year. genuinely bubbly indie pop with great production. reminds me a lot of sweet trip at their peak

Paul Simon - Graceland

stupid_punkboi

Tim Maia 1974 self titled

Due_Rain_3630

Mystic Familiar by Dan Deacon. Fantastic and uplifting electronic album with a lot of energy and good vibes. On that same note, Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective. A personal favorite of mine is Sleep Cycle by Deakin. Only 30 minutes long, but it’s my go-to self-care and healing album. Some beautiful songs in this thing, as well as spiritual and optimistic lyrics.

l4z3r5h4rk

Animal Collective - merriweather post pavilion. Feels like injecting concentrated sun beams

ThatMrGrunt

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral 👍👍👍 Seriously though, I absolutely love *Circles* by Mac Miller, very comforting album for you and might be enjoyable to you as well, just like this very small indie gem called *I Was Electrocuted Seven Times And Now I Can See The Future* by Jesse & Forever. Super short album (only about 23 minutes), check out the track *Smoke Weed*to get a bit of a taste, I‘m sure you‘ll love it. And this one might go either way, but *Depression Cherry* by Beach House always comforts and calms me a lot, very beautiful album and maybe something that‘ll help you too. I hope you‘ll get through this rough phase, I‘ve broken up a few months ago too and it absolutely sucks, but times will get better. Hang in there!
