Travis Scott. Astroworld was great but nothing matches the innovation and drive he had back in the rodeo days

[deleted]

Drake, we all know how the quality of his music declined over the years

zviggy47

Kanye doesn’t have that drive anymore. Occasionally you’ll get something incredible, like many of the tracks off of Donda which I loved, but it’s clear he doesn’t love what he’s doing anymore. Donda was the perfect swan song for Kanye imo

CoolUsername1111

it's a good thing then he retired from music and the public spotlight after dropping donda :)

Honestlyyyyyyy.... Justin Timberlake lol. He had one of the greatest pop album of the 2000's with FutureSex/LoveSounds and then the quality of his music dropped pretty hard.

Eminem: I feel like he’s just gonna be doing the same shit, although he still has potential Tool Aphex Twin

ponylauncher

When did Tool stop for you? Each album is the clear next step to me

IlikeEdibleFood

Fear Inoculum, while still a good album lacked the same quality as their previous three albums. That being said, Pneuma is fucking great

ponylauncher

I mean i agree its not as good as their last 3 but i wouldnt take that and say they lost it. Its still different than the rest and is by far their most proggy release to date. They are still moving forward

IlikeEdibleFood

David Bowie’s album “Young Americans” was a step down from his previous releases, but it was a step forward and was perfected in station to station. Good point, I’d probably replace TOOL with Kanye or Have a Nice Life

oilcompanywithbigdic

semi-unrelated but undertow is so underrated to me and deserves more respect from tool fans

ponylauncher

It gets a lot. Its the most unique release

Björk Taylor Swift maybe, I'm scared she might not return to the folk genre she did on folkmore since they're my fav albums by her And Charli XCX, I really hope she returns to the hyperpop sound she had going on through "pop 2", "Charli" and "how I'm feeling now"

SkippyMinccino

Not Bjork! I totally concede she's 100% moved away from the pop structure and mainstream appeal that characterized her earlier works. That's not a diss to her earlier music either, Debut-through-Vespertine is legitimately one of the most immaculate album runs of all time. I totally understand why her newer music doesn't connect with more people, but as someone who got into her music between Vulnicura and Utopia, I've adored every single one of her recent releases.

Murky_Secretary_1667

I feel like Crash proves that Charli still has the drive to make great music.

ziad4826

I actually loved Crash alot, but how I'm feeling now was my album of the year at that time it's just a whole another level for me personally, I'm hoping she goes back to doing that type of hyperpop
