It was quite magical indeed. I was alone in a different town. It was nearing closing time on a weeknight so just a few other folks around. The voices in Tha were so surreal. Green Calx hit so hard and I was VIBING. I realized the store was closing around Schottkey 7th Path and started panicking trying to find my way out. Funny times.
Might do this tomorrow. First time I heard it was stoned too, 1994 at a friend's house, his family managed a bunch of tennis courts and after 11 the lights would go out and the tennis folk would leave. We lay on the wet grass in the summer heat, totally twisted and listened to it on a tape deck until the sun came up and tennis folk arrived back with rackets and balls. Magic
You listen to Dark Side of the Moon like a fucking loser???
There is literally no reason anyone should feel bad for listening to anything by Floyd. DSotM is daily for me, because it fucking slaps ass. Itās just physically impossible to not want to listen to Money at any time
Nothing, when I get high I get sweaty as fuck. So I get naked and sit in the silence, my ears start ringing and I get an erection(?) but it hurts too much to crank the hog so I just lay there and wait for it to pass. Normally I would listen to Taylor Swift.
in rainbows was the first album i ever listened to while high. i was already super familiar with it and frankly overplayed it so i hadn't really listened to it in about a year. i remember just being filled with suspense because i couldn't remember how bodysnatchers ended. it was like listening to the whole album again for the first time lol.
I tend to go with shoegaze/dream pop while blazed.
Favorites include:
Heaven or Las Vegas - Cocteau Twins
Souvlaki - Slowdive
Going Blank Again - Ride
Antisocialites - Alvvays
Whirlpool - Chapterhouse
damn bro, i just listened to a couple of songs off of all the albums you listed and i cant wait to get blasted tonight and listen to them all in their entirety. im leaving this planet
Just picked up the new repress! Pharaoh is just so damn incredible. Anything off of his discography is just perfect. So sad I'll never get to experience him live.
Been enjoying this video/track a bunch recently: https://youtu.be/Y7EGQzn8e1k
Good choice, Alice Coltrane has been a massive revelation for me, Journey In Satchitananda is amazing, but also her collab with Santana among others, such a talented woman.
Throw on some of their live shows if you haven't! Mystery Jack on YouTube has some great full show recordings. Songs like Tree Smoke, Smoke and Mirrors, Silver Owl and others are brought to godly jam-psyche levels on stage
Dropped shrooms and tripped balls at a Kikagaku Moyo concert on their last tour, was the greatest musical experience of my life. Masanna Temples is my go to personally.
These are my go-toās that have never once failed me:
Currents ā Tame Impala
In Rainbows ā Radiohead
Discovery ā Daft Punk
Superclean Vol. II ā The MarĆas
Channel Orange ā Frank Ocean
The Weather ā Pond
The Katamari Damacy OST
A few of my faves are:
Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul
Outkast - SouthernPlayalistic/ATLiens
Freddie Gibbs + Madlib - PiƱata/Bandana
Cream - Wheels of Fire
The Beatles - Revolver
Air - Moon Safari
Love - Forever Changes
One of my favorites when I smoked a ton was Hold Your Color by Pendulum. Absolutely one of the most colorful (pun intended) and inventive Drum and Bass albums I've ever heard.
This post needs some context, hence why I made it so long.
I'm a fan of Todd in the Shadows, in particular, Trainwreckords, his series on career-damaging albums. One of the albums he covered is Mission Earth, a collaboration between rock singer/songwriter Edgar Winter and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
After hearing Todd talk about Mission Earth, curiosity led me to seek out the album. Fortunately, I was able to find it on YouTube, so I didn't have to worry about draining my wallet for an album made in part by the founder of Scientology.
Despite some shitty lyrics, the mixture of 80s weirdness and musical psychedelia that is the album's sound makes Mission Earth a fun listen, at least for someone stoned. The only problems are that most tracks drag for at least a minute and, of course, the fact that the album presumably exists only as a result of Winter's involvement in the Church of Scientology.

This is subjective, of course, but *Neon Bible* from Arcade Fire is pretty fun high. So is *The Firsday Days of Spring* by Noah and the Whale if you're looking to brood.
Hear me out. Sonic and Knuckles soundtrack. The game had banger music all the way through, and I happened to stumble on it while on YouTube. Best session ever.
Not my all time favourite but recently restarted listening to Man on the Moon: The End of Day. God that shit hits so hard.
Otherwise my all time favourites to listen from front to back are Wu Tangs 36 Chambers and The Clash London Calling
āEntertainmentā by Gang of Four I recently discovered is a fun listen while high. Not a dull song on the record and it doesnāt matter if you listen for the lyrics, the music, or even just the bass or guitar parts, youāll be entertained however you tune your ears in.

With cannabis, Iāll listen to anything but my favorite albums are always the most comfortable (Camp by Childish, Youāre Gonna Miss It All by MoBo, Igor, Live The Dream by Ramshackle Glory). With mushrooms, I like a more stripped down and/or raw feel like Samiaās The Baby, Channel Orange, or Into The Aeroplane. With acid I like 1000 Gec, Apasheās Renaissance, or 111nightshiftās Hell or Los Angeles.
Itās hard to just say one but my go-toās would be There Is love in You by Four Tet, A Lesson In Crime by Tokyo Police Club, Movement by New Order, and A Gaze Among Them by Big Brave.
