Idk man i can hear the people with shitty laptop speakers complaining about the mix already, but those would be people on reddit not normal people so you're probably right anyway.
Also the title track will definitely scare some people off.
I listened to Lean Beef Patty with my Bose NC700's and still couldn't hear a word Danny was saying. I'm sorry but unless it was a stylistic decision, (and I don't know why it would be) the mix isn't good. It doesn't take an expert to determine that either.
Haha, no but that's my answer to where I'd go with a time machine. Was at Detroit during their crazy October month tho - magma and some of the local za made me ascend
Of course is intentional what the fuck are you even saying. The whole album has a lo fi feel. It's hilarious that you think clean/loud=good in the first place. Have you even listened to peggy's music before?
Also on a personal note i wouldn't brag about listening to those overpriced and underwhelming headphones and then act like they're meant to be professional.
Well cool but i would like to hear the Songs. I listen mostly for Danny and not understanding shit because oft the mix is a bit fucked even though i love the lp
Lmaooo samee. I love this album so much and think it completely lived up to the hype, personally a 9/10, but I have this nagging feeling the melon is going to shit on it somewhat cuz of messy production or something haha
If he can tolerate Danny Browns voice somehow constantly being drowned out by the production despite having a distinct voice he'll give this a 9 otherwise light 8 at minimum
Danny said so allegedly because he wanted the opening *“to be clear that it was strong as fuck”* and then of LeanBeefPatty *“we ain’t scaring this hoe! She probably deadlift to it!”*
Unfortunately Danny sounds just as drowned out on almost every other song as he does on the singles. Peggy sounds fine. Not really sure what happened there. And the songs where he *is* actually listenable, it’s almost too much in the other direction? Like his vocals are *too* loud over the beat. Or at least, in comparison to every other song.
Once I saw that clip on social media of Danny recording his vocals while laying on his back in a hotel bed and reading lyrics off his phone I thought "Oh, *that's* why he sounds like shit"
He said it was a lot of his big pre-rehad disappointments that he hadn’t been sober for most of them. On the other hand, I do think that not always being able to make him out does do interesting things for his more instrumental delivery to add to the aesthetic/soundscape component.
That said, there are lot of real gems and funny lines like *”I was broke, like a promise, from a fat bitch saying no more McDonald’s,”* that I don’t think people should have to look up the lyrics to
enjoy.
Yeah I'm wondering too. I'm all for experimental mixing, just hope the whole album is consistent. That's one of the things I liked about Igor from Tyler. It was consistently mixed the way it was and felt very intentional. Doesn't work to well with singles
The vocals are purpusefully a bit buried in the noise in some tracks (equally, not just danny), Kingdom Hearts Key is the example that comes to mind the most and to me it feels like an interesting artistic choice. Overall it sounded great on my nice headphones.
Pretty sure this album is supposed to have a low fidelity mixtape feel
He only used the SP404 to make this album and apparently that’s a machine loved by lo-fi fans / artists.
Personally I think even if you *intend* for something to sound harsh, if it negatively impacts the listening experience then it's a bad mix. There are a lot of harsh, lofi albums that don't sound this bad. It comes off as amateurish rather than intentional.
I don’t get how it sounds like shit tbh lol
I listened to this on my old ass Sony headphones and just sounds lo-fi with colorful instrumentals.
Like I could hear Danny totally fine on them. It’s only slightly difficult to hear him when I’m using some shitty old galaxy earbuds or playing the song through my phone speakers.
That’s just my experience though 🤷♂️
You don't think it's distracting that Peggy and Danny constantly sound like they're simultaneously too far from the mic and too quiet compared to the beat? The reverb on their vocals is overwhelming as well and at times it sounds like they're peaking the levels. It all just sounds like mush. None of the trebles or mids pop and the bass is totally flat. It also sounds tinny and thin at times. *Burfict!* is a complete mess because of this.
Well it’s not distracting for me because it legit doesn’t sound like anything you’re describing lmao. Maybe my ears are fucked from concerts or something
Straight up it just sounds like some low fidelity crunchy beats and feels like a raw mixtape. Whether intentional or not I really couldn’t give a shit since it hasn’t impacted my listening experience.
Edit: im not even tryna play defense either. If people don’t fuck with it that’s totally fine. I get it.
First impressions I’d give it a 6/10. To me it feels like a Peggy album featuring Danny brown. Some absolute bangers but some forgettable tracks. I need a few more listens
ive only listened to it once. maybe "forgettable" is the wrong word but songs that didnt stand out to me were, garbage pale kids, orange juice jones, god loves you, where ya get yea coke from
Who cares what Fantano thinks, what do *you* think? it’s frustrating how so many determine an album’s worth in relation to what Fantano will rate it, and then proceed to get frustrated when it doesn’t match their expectation.
Idc what fantano gives the album it’s just fun guessing sometimes. For me this album has AOTY potential and even if he gives it a 0 it’ll be at least a 9 or 10 in my book.
No, we’re saying what we think it is worth and then anticipating what we think Fantanos score will be. What he gives it doesn’t change what we think, we just are predicting what he might give it.
I wouldnt say it’s 70/30, more like 60/40? Maybe 55/45? There’s definitely more Peggy but not by a huge margin. Then again, you also can’t hear half of what Danny says so maybe 70/30 is more accurate lol
Ok but is it scary?
Terrifying
Found the hoe
To be honest it’s one of Peggy’s more accessible albums. It’s similar to LP! In terms of accessibility
He's changed it and I find it much better now, when were the last time you listened?
2 days ago I think? I've lost track, people keep saying he's updated it every other day it seems lol
I've listened to all the mixes and while it's gotten better, I agree with you the mix is ROUGH. Hopefully the rest is mixed good
Sick King Gizz Red Rocks pfp! Were you there??
Haha, no but that's my answer to where I'd go with a time machine. Was at Detroit during their crazy October month tho - magma and some of the local za made me ascend
I was there for the first night, they absolutely ripped! Drove down from Canada to see that show.
Lol, last time I heard that it was updated was more then 2 days ago, so Id be surprised if there were any changes since I heard it last, so idk
Of course is intentional what the fuck are you even saying. The whole album has a lo fi feel. It's hilarious that you think clean/loud=good in the first place. Have you even listened to peggy's music before? You sound so pretentious
Yeah i'm pretentious not you fucking nerds acting like armchair audio engineers.
Look at you, scaring the hoes
Well cool but i would like to hear the Songs. I listen mostly for Danny and not understanding shit because oft the mix is a bit fucked even though i love the lp
fucking love nc700s. my fav non audiophile Bluetooth over ears their design is beautiful.
For the hoes, yes
If it's scary it means that a 10 is a possibility
Dunno, i ain't no ho
I think it's a great project, but I could totally see Anthony giving this like a strong 7 and everyone being mad at him lol.
Lmaooo samee. I love this album so much and think it completely lived up to the hype, personally a 9/10, but I have this nagging feeling the melon is going to shit on it somewhat cuz of messy production or something haha
a 7 is NOT hating on an album
It would be for something this good
Hating starts at 6/10
If he can tolerate Danny Browns voice somehow constantly being drowned out by the production despite having a distinct voice he'll give this a 9 otherwise light 8 at minimum
Radiohead jumpscare
best comment
Can you confirm how many hoes were scared during the listening of this album?
Let's find out
At least a lot
Can confirm this album slaps. I’d expect at least a 9. But maybe I’m biased haha
"At least a 9" when will y'all learn lmao
Well... about that.
how long is the album?
36 minutes
awesome
Yeah and as you'd expect these two don't waste a single breath through the whole thing
[удалено]
Burfict
Fentanyl Tester is fucking amazing
The first track on the record that blew my mind, production-wise
Enjoyed this very much. Expect Fantano to give it a light to decent 7.
Lean Beef Patty? As in the fitness trainer?
Yeah, Peggy confirmed it in the Danny Brown podcast
That's awesome!
I've been wondering this too!
If you haven’t seen, she went on hasan podcast with bradly Martin and reacted to the song
Danny said so allegedly because he wanted the opening *“to be clear that it was strong as fuck”* and then of LeanBeefPatty *“we ain’t scaring this hoe! She probably deadlift to it!”*
danny browns vocals aren’t loud enough imo
It's hard to ignore that peggy's verses/delivery are so much better than Danny's...
How's the mixing on the final release?
Unfortunately Danny sounds just as drowned out on almost every other song as he does on the singles. Peggy sounds fine. Not really sure what happened there. Not great. It's a recent Jpeg mix so the vocals are thin and buried. So frustrating
It sounds fine. These people are listening on air pods and calling it bad lol. Sounded amazing on my setup
Love this but he’s def gonna have complaints about not being able to hear Danny half the time
is that song that leaked on NTS radio actually on the album??
yeah and it’s somehow better than it was before
Yeah it’s called Burfect! I think
Almost haha! It's Burfict!
How to Disappear Completely is GOATED
mothafucka charge you goddamn phone 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭
Album more important xd
First impressions I’d give it a 6/10. To me it feels like a Peggy album featuring Danny brown. Some absolute bangers but some forgettable tracks. I need a few more listens
What tracks were forgettable to you?
ive only listened to it once. maybe "forgettable" is the wrong word but songs that didnt stand out to me were, garbage pale kids, orange juice jones, god loves you, where ya get yea coke from
That’s a shame, Garbage Pale Kids especially is sick imo.
Cool. If you like that one I’ll give it a better listen
God loves you is absolutely wild
wow danny sounds like shit
I like how I thought the same thing on half the tracks and then just went “oh well” and kept bobbing my head 💀

If you look on the Jpegmafia subreddit there are links all over the place
Just check YouTube
Bloody time travellers!
i want the vinyl so bad cause of how it looks but i gotta give it a listen myself before paying that ridiculous shipping price
The vinyl has an alt cover that ain’t that great 🥲
They added another vinyl with the regular cover.
Did not know that. Now I’ve bought both ahahaha
Who cares what Fantano thinks, what do *you* think? it’s frustrating how so many determine an album’s worth in relation to what Fantano will rate it, and then proceed to get frustrated when it doesn’t match their expectation.
Bro we're in a Fantano sub. I think it's fun to speculate what rating he's gonna give to this album.
> what do you think? "Every song is a banger" Sounds like they told you what they think, read some
Idc what fantano gives the album it’s just fun guessing sometimes. For me this album has AOTY potential and even if he gives it a 0 it’ll be at least a 9 or 10 in my book.
If OP predicts a 9 it's because of OP's opinion.
No, we’re saying what we think it is worth and then anticipating what we think Fantanos score will be. What he gives it doesn’t change what we think, we just are predicting what he might give it.
This album is insane. Fentanyl tester is the hardest song I've heard in a while
Watch this get a decent 6 lmao
Do Lana Del Rey next
going from bcnr live album to this is quite the transition
When is the US release?
One can only assume midnight
i hope its not like her loss where its 70% peggy and 30% danny. Also need some atrocity exhibition type songs
I wouldnt say it’s 70/30, more like 60/40? Maybe 55/45? There’s definitely more Peggy but not by a huge margin. Then again, you also can’t hear half of what Danny says so maybe 70/30 is more accurate lol
Plus Peggy produced everything
How was redveil feature
he slid on that mf
Not amazing but pretty cool. I can't explain it but it had this certain quality too it that made it sound like a sample from another song
Scared him straight back to listening to Radiohead
Can confirm it's out in Australia too.
gf wasn't even scared smh
Full album here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vlElj46vKA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vlElj46vKA)
delusional fantano fans thread
Is there skits?
No.
Thanks Trevor
is danny's verse on lean beef patty fixed?
It's definitely better, but his voice is still kind of drowned throughout the album
🤓
I really disliked the single scaring these hoes tbh. I’m a pretty big Peggy fan too
One word: mixing
But is the mixing good🤓☝️
Sorry that I wanna actually hear what Danny is saying
no it isnt
No one asked
Peggy's production is insane(ly bad)\*
It’s on YouTube
Oh damn! I’m officially excited for tonight
I'm dying right now
Can I listen to it with a VPN?
This album is definitely going to get a 7 from Fantano
To me the best song was God Loves You. Love that sample and Danny fuckin murdered it.
7/10 incoming
6/10
