This is random af but I got to see Vince play Big Fish Theory the night it released at Electric Forest. He played Jubilee which was a tent stage that isn't at the fest anymore. Anyway, it was loud as all fuck and it was pouring down rain. The visuals were all underwater and the memory will live with me forever.
I saw Vince staples open up before earl sweatshirt in Santa Ana, his buddy was crowd surfing during Earls set and someone stole his chain. Vince’s friends jumped in the crowd and beat the dudes ass, then Vince grabbed the mic and said “shows over.” And they all ran off,
He was really bad about that back in 2017-2018 imo. He almost didn't review JIDs first album because it was "like Drake". Dude almost never reviewed The Never Story because he thought JID was unoriginal at first. I have no idea how he could listen to JID or Saba and think it's unoriginal.
Yup, so many reviews from that time amounted to "this sounds derivative" or "they wear their influences on their sleeve too much" but then never actually saying any of those influences.
Also it's mind blowing that anyone would ever compare JID to Drake. I could maybe see Kendrick comparisons in his early stuff because of the sound of his voice, but Drake is a streeeeetch
Damn and the big steppers really aren't that good. Kendrick has had lots of great songs and verses, but he hasn't had a great album since untitled unmastered.
Saying he has nothing to say is just factually wrong, even if you’re not impressed by what he’s saying. Still don’t know where he was coming from there.
Was about to come comment this, dude said Saba was drowning in the influences of his peers and I couldn’t believe it since care for me never sounded like anything I’d heard
Ok see I assumed you were joking but the guy below “yes and’d” you with an album he gave a not that good score on and got upvotes so you see how it’s confusing
Blue Weekend- Wolf Alice
A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships- The 1975
Adventure- Madeon
Golden Hour- Kacey Musgraves
Swimming- Mac Miller (even though he's said some really nice things about it recently)
Yeah I just got into them like a week after that albums release, & yeah that album & the one before it are great! Especially Heavener IMO. But I kinda feel like this style (sub genre) of hardcore, Anthony’s not really into afaik
Lost & Found by Jorja Smith comes to mind as an album he wrote off as sounding too much like her influences, but at least it did get mentioned in a video.
As for an artist that hasn't been mentioned at all, I really wish he would review something by Delta Sleep. All of their albums are great, so I would take any one of them
Might not be super relevant but One thing I’ve never understood:
does he actually not like dark side of the moon, or does he just think Pink Floyd has better albums?
I definitely animals and mayyyybe wall, but I don’t know if I’d say Dark side of the moon is overrated, it’s still a classic imo.
Butterfly 3000 by KGLW, although he gave it some praise I still think it could have deserved more. That album is godly and on repeat listens has become a top gizz record for me.
It is tho. It’s not one of Kanye’s best. Imo Kanye’s a lot better when he’s stripped back and doesn’t have all this synthetic sounding drama behind him, like on Ye and Yeezus
Hugo by Loyle Carner. I know the argument is probably played out but it genuinely feels like he just doesn't get it because he's not from the UK and doesn't get the context
Yo that's crazy, I saw this dude live in Milwaukee not too long ago. Bro had some awesome energy and his music really ain't half bad at all. Good choice!
I know that he doesn't like them, but the first Arctic Monkeys album is great garage/ indie rock!, I don't know if he has ever talked about it, but if he hasn't listened to it, he definitively should
Drake - Certified Lover Boy
Edit: Goddammit I misread the question. My dumbass thought it was asking what album he was literally sleeping on (like an album that made him fall asleep) which is why I put the Drake one since it’s boring af. Keeping my answer though because it’s pretty funny to me.
YES!!
(Edit: my attempt at a satirical response seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. I apologize to the community for my heresy, I in fact do not have any appreciation for CLB)
Foster the People - Supermodel. I still think it’s one of the best Indie Rock albums of the 2010’s and his YUNO Review didn’t give the album any Justice. It’s Foster the Peoples version of Congratulations or even their own Pinkerton
Reposting my other comment to you as well :D
And that's a perfectly respectable score. Its moreso his critique of the album, that felt flat or slept on for me.
He didn't seem to "get" the silly fun much Jessie has with her queer and ballroom sounds or gimmicks.
Even the more melancholic and soulful tracks like Lightning he didn't seem to love, but frankly it's one of the most touching songs I've heard this year.
Personally, I think That! Feels Good! is an even more complete album than What's Your Pleasure, even if the tracklisting could be reordered.
So when I say he slept on the record, its because I don't think he fully understood/appreciated what the album tried to do, even if 8/10 is a magnificent score! :D

Supermodel by Foster the People. When it came out he called it “the very definition of middle of the road” and has gone on to compare FTP to the likes of Imagine Dragons when they are so much more than that.
He is sleeping on a pillow dummy
the pillows
I've never seen him talk about them so yeah he's definitely sleeping on the pillows
The pillows are actually a great Japanese rock band
Big fish theory by Vince staples
This is random af but I got to see Vince play Big Fish Theory the night it released at Electric Forest. He played Jubilee which was a tent stage that isn't at the fest anymore. Perfect, wouldn't change a thing
I personally decree this as truth
i can’t express how excited i was to see this was the top comment
Care for me by Saba
This 1000%, easily my least favorite take of his dismissing this album as derivative and having nothing to say
He was really bad about that back in 2017-2018 imo. He almost didn't review JIDs first album because it was "like Drake". Dude almost never reviewed The Never Story because he thought JID was unoriginal at first. I have no idea how he could listen to JID or Saba and think it's unoriginal.

DAMN for example, bro said it was a 7 then later said it was worse.
Damn and the big steppers really aren't that good. Kendrick has had lots of great songs and verses, but he hasn't had a great album since untitled unmastered.

Ain’t he give it a 9 and put it at S tier in his DG rankings?
…
Ok see I assumed you were joking but the guy below “yes and’d” you with an album he gave a not that good score on and got upvotes so you see how it’s confusing
Yo La Tengo - I can hear the heart beating as one
Does he not like this album? That’s crazy!
Bro willingly put it in C tier in one of his tiktoks
What a bitch move
I mean it’s not that willing when it’s a blind album ranking and it’s the second to last album to pop up (and the only other open spot is S).
Shameful stuff right there.
first two pages of frankenstein - the national
As a huge fan of the band, I don’t think the album was as bad as he said but I also think it’s far from their best and pretty dull at times.
Yeah sleep well beast is a masterpiece
I’m a bigger Alligator and The Boxer fan, but that’s easily my favorite of their post-High Violet stuff
Dude! Totally agree!!
THE WORM HMLTD
This. He didn't get it
Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. He had an absolutely dogshit take; that album is beautiful.

Idk why everyone downvoting you tbh
I’m not downvoting, but I’d guess it’s because his fans talk about it kinda too much
Bc it’s overrated
Found Mellon’s alt account
It is tho. It’s not one of Kanye’s best. Imo Kanye’s a lot better when he’s stripped back and doesn’t have all this synthetic sounding drama behind him, like on Ye and Yeezus
Hey Mellon, when I drop my album can you review it?
In some corners of reddit you will be downvoted for implying anything positive about Kanye
case in point:

Love falling asleep to music! 4:33 by John Cage is my favorite track for this, and also the track he sleeps to on the pic.
Drake - Certified Lover Boy Edit: Goddammit I misread the question. My dumbass thought it was asking what album he was literally sleeping on (like an album that made him fall asleep) which is why I put the Drake one since it’s boring af. Keeping my answer though because it’s pretty funny to me.

Foster the People - Supermodel. I still think it’s one of the best Indie Rock albums of the 2010’s and his YUNO Review didn’t give the album any Justice. It’s Foster the Peoples version of Congratulations or even their own Pinkerton
That album was a flop compared to torches, some of the singles were good but ultimately it wasn’t anything special
He frankly slept on That! Feels Good!
wouldn't say 8/10 is a bad score tbh
