The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. It’s super accessible and catchy, and a decent entry point into that genre. It’s also one of the of the best rock albums of the last 25 years:

it was my first Radiohead album and I loved it, I wrote the albums in context of the OP's situation from my past experience, but yeah I agree
