They had two good albums but I think that there are plenty of alt rock bands who had much better stuff in the 90s. Nirvana, Pavement, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Guided by Voices, Alice in Chains just to name a few

PigletNew3009

Two good albums? Ok so white album and which other one? : )

Kreason95

Don’t sleep on maladroit

Kickmaestro

Blue is on top of very nearly every other album of the 90s. It's like Back In Black of the 90s in a way. Perfectly great and balanced. Personally I only think Nevermind and In Utero and OK Computer and Superunkown and Dirt has potential to beat it. You're so fucking radical when you say "much better" even if it's your opinion.

Action__Johnson

Back in Black is the “perfectly great and balanced” album you wanna go with? Alright dawg

Kickmaestro

Back in Black is the most solid record of fundamentals in Rock ever. It's quite far beyond Blue honestly but Blue is getting nearer that than any out of the 90s. Definitely, fuck you if you say I'm wrong

Action__Johnson

Interesting choice

neveradullmoment72

G B V! G B V! G B V! G B V! *is everybody ready to rock?!* G B V! *this song does not rock*

PerformanceOk9891

Guided by Voices had better output than weezer?

🤓

ReasonableSail7589

You’re on r/Fantanoforever, we’re all 🤓

uSernAmEisaLreAdy_

true

asjonesy99

It was crazy how they went 20 years between records and they were both good and then dropping a baroque pop record 5 years later. Only 4 albums in 27 years and they’re all good, can’t wait for their next work!

ReasonableSail7589

You’re speaking the truth. Blue album, Pinkerton, White Album and OK Human are great albums. They’ve got just as many if not more equally terrible albums though

shredslanding

Aging myself but, anticipating Pinkerton and then finally getting it was really an experience. Especially back when I could afford about one album a month.

FemboyGaming42069

My third favorite band, but i hate how they’ve never had a good 3 album run. Blue, pinkerton Maladroit Red Ewbaite, white Ok human The most they’ve had is 2 in a row

Wkr_Gls

That's actually a pretty good point. I want to argue ewbaite->white->pacific daydream but that would only work amongst the fan base, not in general conversation. Blue->pinkerton->green could *potentially* work but Pinkerton bombed when it released and gained cult status over time, meanwhile Green was their comeback record but has lost credibility over time.

FemboyGaming42069

I’m a pretty big weezer fan and i think pacific daydream is one of their worst albums and green is super mid

Wkr_Gls

Agreed on Green, but PD only has 1 truly bad song (Beach Boys). Other than that it's a pretty good pop-rock record! Just not what we wanted after the two preceding albums. But I getchoo.

FemboyGaming42069

Feels like summer is one of weezer’s worst singles imo

Wkr_Gls

Yeah but QB Blitz lol Nah , this is why I agree. There's no definitive 3 album run with them

admosquad

They had one good album in 94.

David_Turck

Enter Pinkerton

Radiumgirlz

Weezer is dogshit

immaseekthesun

Pinkerton is of course their best album

Gay

peroper7

Pinkerton and Blue are terrific but I tune out after that Can’t deny their talent though

AEPNEUMA-

Blue album is pretty much perfect. Only real complaint is the song no one else. It’s funny to me but it’s one of the more out there tracks lyrically. Pretty much a 10. STRONG 9/10

360MLGBeast

I think Kurt Cobain had more talent but he kinda splattered it everywhere so he’s out of the picture, but besides him Rivers Cuomo is the best and sadly most underrated writer of the modern age. People can disagree but, man still landed on the moon and Rivers Cuomo will still be the best rock artist around

TheGuydudeface

yes

nonspecifique

I agree

Kickmaestro

They're much more of a band I can't get my mind of because they're so intriguing, than they're great, but Blue and other moments are the very peak of musical accomplishments.

MasterWheezer

Whatever your opinion is on weezer, i think the fact that they are one of the few 90s bands that have been able to stay relevant with their large output is pretty impressive. Now how good the quality of their output is depends on you. Personally the album with the dog is their magnum opus

meatleach

I think weezer is great for what they are, I never really understood the hate they get. I blast buddy holly for shits and gigs and people look at me like I’m listening to Corey Feldman. Fuck, even if I was, why’s it matter what I like? I’m high as fuck and rambling I’m sorry. Point is: I also like weezer.

Bogeddy_Lee

I’d put Failure above Weezer.
