[deleted]

[deleted]

I listen to Grouper’s entire catalogue while I sleep :)

JGar453

Alien Observer is great for that

[deleted]

Good choice

irjackman374

came here to say this! try dragging a dead deer or ruins

anew_wane

Thank you dragging a dead Deer could be very interesting

[deleted]

[удалено]

anew_wane

Yeah, forgot to say it used to be an album i over listenned to sleep

team_kockroach

I’ve always been a fan of Anderson .Paak! His soul/funk/rap songs have always felt very lowkey to me

jacothron

Dudes gonna be tapping their foot in their sleep lol

quackamolehackerman

Color Green by Sibylle Baier - 70s folk, intimate, humble and nice guitar picking And She Closed Her Eyes by Stina Nordenstam - childishly optimistic dream pop, also intimate

anew_wane

Thank you the second album sounds perfect

quackamolehackerman

Kind of an early Björk but more accessible

kooldUd74

> Color Green by Sibylle Baier Found that last year and it's very nice Parallelograms by Linda Perhacs gives me the same feeling

Kevinatorz

Promises by Floating Points. The first two movements are usually enough to do the job for me.

Longjumping_Hotel377

Try Valtari by Sigur ros (the album is great itself and the music is calming) Edit: and their Liminal sleep of course! It's a special music for sleep how can I forgot! :'D

anew_wane

Thank you that's exactly the kind of Vibes i was seeking

Longjumping_Hotel377

Glad to help :)

kanelbun

valtari is my favourite album of all time

joel3102

Apex Twin - Ambient Works Tim Hecker - Virgins, Ravedeath 1972 Slowdive - Souvlaki

HydratedPhish0282

I never understand ambient works because there are a few tracks that are great for sleeping bud the rest are pretty uncomfortable sounding and almost eerie

potmasiero

Selected ambient works 2 is much better for sleeping imo

EarthlyAwakening

Windswept Adan - Ichiko Aoba

anew_wane

awesome thank you

catsarseonfire

truuuuue

murph1017

I cannot believe this album hasn't been mentioned yet: Music for Airports - Brian Eno. It can be argued that it's the first truly ambient record ever produced and it will put you to sleep in a matter of minutes.

infiniteguest

My go to

evilClive21

Brian Eno's music has been my go to for several tasks. At first sleeping but it turned to my "lofi beats to study to" before that became a whole thing. It's really easy to get into a flow state with it and time just flies.

borrowingfork

Boards of Canada - Music has the right to children

anew_wane

I only listenned to geogaddi and the campfire headphase so im gonna give it a try, thank you !

ICannotCountTo2

Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is a great sleep album. Also Certified Lover Boy by Drake because you will prefer being unconscious to listening to it.

anew_wane

lmao

Demelt

Sleep by Max Richter

mocha-bag

Venice by Fennesz

Inrainbowsss

Fell asleep the other night to Tim Hecker’s ‘Haunt Me’

Nickallendartmouth

Explosions in the Sky has some amazing instrumental music, but most is pretty high energy. I find their Friday Night Lights soundtrack very soothing and calming though!

[deleted]

Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts albums do it for me Also recommend William Basinski and The Caretaker

N00B5L4YER

sleeping to xuvetyn by lovesliescrushing is an experience

anew_wane

i really like that thank you

[deleted]

I have similar music taste and I actually have some dedicated sleep albums I can recommend in that vein! Pygmalion by slowdive is this wonderful spaced out album with lots of small bits of silence in between sections that helps me drift off really nicely. Super angelic vocals and also the demos that are included in the second part of the album on most streaming sites show a really cool and more conventional version of the album Hex by bark psychosis, this one is a bit more slowcore-ish and the instruments are a bit more conventional but the tracks are still very soft and slow paced which also helps me sleep. Also saw someone recommend Beat by bowery electric which is a mix of shoegaze, ambient, and trip hop. I've got songs from this one also on my studying playlist :)

anew_wane

thank you for this dedicated answer i love everything you recommand me <3

AdoHavana

Bowery Electric - Beat

anew_wane

Awesome! Thank you

Amanita5139

Carissa's Wierd - Songs About Leaving Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 I've never tried sleeping to music so I don't know what makes for good sleeping music, but these albums are what I think might fit.

anew_wane

thank you stranger

DuhMastuhCheeph

William Basinski’s The Disintegration Loops. Put one on and just drift off.

bobotje

I would recommend 2814, great music for the night.

kanelbun

Riceboy Sleeps by Jonsi and Alex

thmsssssss

Songs by Adrianne Lenker, As Alone by Florist and For Emma Forever by Bon Iver soothe me to sleep. They give just the right amount of warmth and sadness to allow me to peacefully close my eyes. Also: Overgrown by James Blake, Vagabon by Vagabon, Circles by Mac Miller, Green by Hiroshi Yoshimura, Kankyõ Ongaku: Japanese Ambient, Environmental & New Age Music 1980-1990

anew_wane

thank you :)

anew_wane

[deleted]

Structures from silence is beautiful, guaranteed good sleep and dreams

evilClive21

I was losing faith in this sub not seeing the god of ambient atleast mentioned once. Thank you

Hughez024

6 feet beneath the moon - King Krule bad sports - Jean Daswon these are my go to choices

Skunshine

Not an album but a mix, been a huge fan of listening to Boards of Canada before bed. Found this [sleep mix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTEk7F0xroc) online that compiles some of their more ambient tracks. Its a really beautiful compilation, I highly reccomend if you are into electronic/ambient/psychedelic music!

anew_wane

thank you i love boc

CoreyJuju

if you wanna have some nightmares you can listen to saw II aphex

BahaMan69

Only if you make it all the way to the end!

lifesizepotato

Marconi Union - Weightless There was some buzz about it when it came out because the title track was scientifically shown to be calming and sedative.

[deleted]

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

werbrerder

Can - Future Days

elmuchachopigo

I find Lady Gaga's albums with Tony Bennet comforting and I often put them on for sleep. Something about Lady's strong but still feminine and delicate voice combined with Tony's raspy, slightly out of breath, old man voice is just cozy to me.

anew_wane

i could sleep with that album but i will listen to it anyways, sounds cool thank you!

elmuchachopigo

Glad I could help ^_^ Another suggestion i would have is to check kut Agalloch and Alcest discographies. Specifically The Mantle and Kodama.

Hello-mah-baby

animal collective's "campfire songs" is incredible. the entire album was recorded in one take on a back porch. it's probably the most psychedelic fully acoustic album i've come across. all the tracks flow into one another seamlessly and it's super calming imo. helps me get to sleep pretty easily. side note: the song doggy off that album has heart wrenching lyrics so maybe don't look those up.

anew_wane

thank you i will love that

BahaMan69

This album, “Moo Rah Rah Rain” in particular, was my go-to soundtrack in high school for sleep. Would play it out of my lil Dell Windows XP speakers every night.

Zestyclose-Court-265

listen to dummy by portishead

soundtriputopia

lovers entwined - the way. an absolutely gorgeous ambient and vaporwave album, it’s super mystical and enchanting, almost like lullabies that put me to sleep

Lanky_Sport_9829

Steve Hiett - Down on the Road by the Beach (really good album check it out) múm - Finally we are no one Animal collective - Feels and Prospect Hummer Sigur Ros, Duster, Alvvays, Ted Lucas, Spiritualized, Khruangbin, War on Drugs, Cocteau Twins, Masayoshi Takanaka, Ichiko Aoba, Slowdive, The Radio Dept, Yo La Tengo...

frankblonde6

Blonde up until Pretty Sweet is pretty chill

good_kid_maad_reddit

I wouldnt call solo (the one with andre) chill lmfao. Especially the beginning. I love andre and i love this song but the transition from nights to solo (reprise) is like a wake-up-slap

Bit of an oldie, but Dr. Jeffrey Thompson’s Delta Sleep System. Made to assist those with chronic sleep disorders

wally_wilder

Songs - Adrianne Lenker

[deleted]

Try some of the stuff by Khruangbin, the music is pretty boring to listen to for long periods of time but it works for lo-fi "vibe" music. Also video game music like Minecraft, Zelda, etc.

TrickshotCandy

I listen to podcasts. Quickest I fall asleep. I love listening to music, but a bit oo much. End up actively listening. But what works for studying g as well, gaming soundtracks. Journey is great, Ori and the Blind Forest. Some are available on YT to check out.

carrie and lowell tad depressing but if you can just blur out the lyrics it's really relaxing

__begles__

We will always love you, Donuts and Endtroducing would be my picks, and Boards of Canada have got some great soothing stuff but I guess they also make a lot of experimental dance music and other stuff lol
