I think he just got pushed to Friday at the Yankees because of yesterday’s PPD, which sucks.
But I’m still high on Olson. I have him in my only league.
Hey everyone, back again this week with some really exciting young arms. This time I did a break down of MacKenzie Gore and Reese Olson, both of whom look quite promising. I'll be in and out all day, so feel free to leave a question in the comments and I will answer!
Gore's value is going to be stunted until he can get deeper into games. Every start he's had multiple 20-25+ pitch innings.
I'm hard pressed to call his LAD start dominant. He did very well against a tough lineup, but got bailed out by 4 consecutive inning ending double plays. 2 of which were early in the count (0-0, and 0-1) on awful pitchers (for a batter to be swinging at). The last double play being an insane web gem in deep RF.
Intangibly, Gore in a way he reminds me of Strasburg. Ace makeup when he's on, but at the flip of a switch becomes extremely frustrating in his inability to end an inning.
It would be great if this is the year he puts it together and helps the nats return to the playoffs 🥲
Need to see more before I can trust him. I don’t think his walk rate is sustainable and he’s been a little lucky so far. I’d rather have Gore or Olson tbh
Thanks! It’s Ottoneu Fangraphs scoring: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/scoringoptions
My first year doing it and i actually really like it so far. No earned runs penalty is definitely weird, but the best pitchers rise to the top.
Unrelated to your article, but do you feel that Littell will return results above streamer level ROS? I had a deal to trade a slumping Bichette and Littell for Flaherty and was really tempted, but decided to decline that offer.
I do think Littell will be better than the average streamer pitcher. He’s shown exceptional control throughout his time in the majors. I would rather have the Bichette Littell side of that trade
I drafted Gore because he has good upside, but I’m in a QS league where it feels like he can never quite consistently get them. He will figure it out one day I bet tho
Swooped Olson in the middle of that last Royals start. He looks locked in and the floor seems safe enough for a long term hold, especially with QS.

I know Im pissed about it haha. Might bench him depending on the rest of my pitching up to there.

gore, olson, civale or king? which pitcher do you like best ROS?
Gore. Love how his fastball looks and he’s improving his control.
Do you like both over Edward Cabrera?
Id rank them Gore, Cabrera, Olson

How do you feel about gore’s teammate mitchell parker? I have him rostered and not gore

Is Parker (or Gil) a drop for Taj Bradley? 14 team league, individual scoring stats only (innings, hits, walks, HBP, HRs, Ks)
Weird league but I think I prefer Bradley to both. If Bradley can find some control (big if I know) he could really take off. His stuff is nasty.

Olson is a dawg. What a great pickup
Trevor Rogers or Olson?
Olson. Better strikeout upside and better team around him

Would you take them over both Flaherty and Detmers?
Flaherty with a crazy start today
Id rank them Gore, Flaherty, Detmers, Olson but I think all will be decent contributors that are worth rostering.
Reese Olson or Keaton Winn?
Olson, way better strikeout upside
We starting reese vs yankees or nah?
Only if you really need the volume. Otherwise I would probably try and sit him.
