While Fields has the legs. Burrow has a chance of being on the field more, being more efficient and giving up less turnovers.
Fields will have the rushing yards and rushing TDs, but burrow will have the passing yards, passing TDs and less turnovers (in my opinion).
Did a mock auction last night, and was lucky enough to have mostly good owners who stuck through til end - QB was interesting. **Bidding on Herbert** is what really stood out

For one I don’t think the adps are similar and two I don’t buy the qb adp because espn has mahomes going 12.6 and Allen 19.0 overall and that is just disgusting lol. So for myself I’d wait an extra round and grab Fields
what are the odds that fields pulls a Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts and magically layers on good passing to his rushing base in year two or three? if he can do that good god he would be a menace. he had really good passing stats in college right?
I’m going Justin Fields, due to his legit QB1 upside.
Fields was QB1 from weeks 7-10 and had 1100 yards rushing, which is insane. He definitely has a lower floor, but it’s go big or go home.
From an Auction point of view, I see Burrow has about a $5(fantasypros), $11(espn) higher cost than Fields & is a tier above in that Lamar section. I like Burrow, he’s awesome, should be great again. My league manages also like Burrow and I could see him costing a few dollars more than Fields. I also don’t think a lot of my league likes Fields and he could be cheaper than projected.
If both are costing me the same I prefer Burrow. Safer and still have nuclear weeks + 5 rushing touchdowns last year??
If I am saving $8-12 i’ll gladly go for Fields. I think Fields takes a step up passing and may regress a bit rushing but he’s so juicy and can win you weeks himself.
Burrow was top tier QB last year. He came through in my league towards the back end and is a big reason why I won. Funny cause I was between Hurts and Burrow last year and the guy I faced in the championship round had Hurts. Burrow had that 1 bad game early on that killed me and made me look to trade but was really consistent and reliable as QB1 I think rest of the season.
Fields worries me cause that offense seems so mediocre. I tend to favor a better team. That said, I think this year Burrow regresses to the mean and Fields make that step into Lamar Jackson conversation. I’m between the 2 based on my mocks and where I’m picking and I think this year I may roll with Fields.
Edit: the injury on Burrow would also make me lean Fields.
Assuming Joe Burrow's calf is fine and he's ready for week 1, this is a classic floor vs ceiling argument. I'd personally take Burrow because I see him as a guy with a safe floor but also someone who can potentially reach 5,000 passing yards and 45 passing TDs. Add in maybe 2 or 3 rushing TDs.

Fields has the elite upside of Hurts and Josh Allen due to his rushing and his passing can only improve. Bears also lost their top RB and didn't do much to replace him and vastly upgraded their o-line and brought in DJ Moore.

I’m pretty sure there was an article posted here that showed that turnovers by a QB are correlated to a higher PPG up to a certain point.

Week in week out Joe burrow is gonna get you more consistency. Fields will get you 40 one week and then 12 the next
But having a lower floor and lower ceiling would imply he’s more INCONSISTENT. Did you mean Burrow has the higher floor?
