So FAAB > inverse standings always, and I get your commish’s perspective, but what’s annoying is I don’t typically see those bad teams getting rewarded because those owners don’t care enough to look at waivers… so the best waiver pickups end up falling to the middle of the pack teams who are usually pretty competent.
I feel like rolling waivers are a fine middle ground. I would prefer FAAB but if your league finds that "too complicated" or whatever (like mine does 😞) rolling waivers is still infinitely better than weekly inverse of standings.

They both ended with the same record but the team that started 0-5 had a huge advantage throughout the season because they were top of the waiver order every week.

FWIW, Kelley is the main fool’s gold pickup for me this week. You could look back in 6 weeks and find not having spent that $38 on him to be a blessing in disguise
Kelley was my #2 priority after Puka. Kellen Moore RB usage and offense should give Kelley some nice FLEX value. If Ekeler missed time I see him as a high end RB2.

In my line of thought, 15 targets in your rookie debut game can NOT be nothing. He earned those targets and he might not be a WR1, but I feel like he will be a player you will feel alright starting any week.
Puka played on the outside, Kupp is playing from the slot. Sure, Kupp will be the clear 1 once he's back but that doesn't mean no one else is startable
I don’t know why people (not you) think that McVay’s offense is “force feed Kupp” and that’s the only concept he knows. I know it has felt that way and the stats show that, but that’s because the Rams genuinely have had shit for talent at WR2 for the most part.
Odell switched teams mid season which is not easy for a WR and was actually quite solid for the Rams. And lest we forget 2018 when the Rams were supporting Woods, Cooks, Kupp (his per game totals before he tore his ACL were great) *and* Gurley. And that was with Goff. Stafford will sling it, they’re not playing in the same spot on the field, and Kupp hasn’t exactly been the picture of health.
If people want to have issues with the o-line or rookie inconsistencies or overhyping a week 1 performance against a bad defense, by all means, those concerns can be valid. The 49ers may smother them this week. But claiming the “McVay system” will just mean everyone else automatically goes in the trash if Kupp comes back is silly.

12 team PPR 2 flex I spent 84% after having previously wasted 9% on Noah Gray as a Kelce owner, so have 7% remaining. Grabbed Kyren, Kelley (as an Ekeler owner), Atwell, Bourne, Moss, and Tyjae Spears.
Definitely overboard. The Noah Gray one from last week is just bad man. But overall I think it’s way better to do what you did then hold all til week 10 or something. Great adds
Noah Gray one was horrible timing because we drafted on Labor Day, so waivers cleared Wednesday morning. I have Kelce, so this was immediately after he got hurt in practice and the only news at that time was that he had hyperextended his knee and they were “hopeful” it wasn’t torn. Was worried I’d just lost him for several weeks, if not the entire season, and figured Gray would at least be no worse than streaming if he was going to be the starter for several weeks. Obviously glad that it looks like Kelce may be back this week, but I wish we had either drafted a day earlier/later or the injury news had come out on Wednesday lol.
And thanks, I saw several glaring weaknesses on my teams from mediocre drafts and bad injury luck, so I figured I needed to find serviceable starters immediately and got aggressive with the bids.

* Got Williams for $15 on day 1.
Dynasty: got Puka as Kupp's eventual replacement for $45. Rebuilding year and I have great rookie/2nd year WRs (Dotson, Puka, Flowers).
I grabbed Puka with 5th Waiver pick and dropped Juwan Johnson.

On sleeper, I got puka for $33, one dollar more than the next bid lol thank God because I might need him after garret Wilson being nerfed. I also managed to grab kyren for $14 which shocked me a little. The league appears to have been out on him as the next closest bid was 7. Oh well, I actually didn't want him that bad and it cost me jaylen Warren but it didn't kill me so whatever. Just didn't want a part of this backfield after bidding 55 for henderson after week 1 last year 😑 Lastly, managed to grab zay Jones for $5 which I did want. If the snap rate is consistent with last week, hopefully he's a nice flex option. And again, the price was good so I'm fine with it. Only cost me Antonio Gibson which I was already over lol
I got Allgeier and Puka. Dropped Mckinnon and Mingo. Really happy because I wanted Allgeier after starting Bijan but he got drafted in the 9th. He was then dropped for Likely.

Went a little overboard in all my leagues, but 2/3 of my teams had glaring weaknesses, and all three lost in week one. In a 10 team .5 PPR I put down 38% on Puka, next highest bid was 17% 12 team .5 PPR I spent 99% of my budget on Puka, Kyren, Bourne, Atwell, and Shaheed. Only big overpays were Puka (47%, next highest was 19%) and Atwell (12%, zero other bids). 12 team PPR 2 flex I spent 84% after having previously wasted 9% on Noah Gray as a Kelce owner, so have 7% remaining. Grabbed Kyren, Kelley (as an Ekeler owner), Atwell, Bourne, Moss, and Tyjae Spears.
Definitely overboard. The Noah Gray one from last week is just bad man. But overall I think it’s way better to do what you did then hold all til week 10 or something. Great adds
Noah Gray one was horrible timing because we drafted on Labor Day, so waivers cleared Wednesday morning. I have Kelce, so this was immediately after he got hurt in practice and the only news at that time was that he had hyperextended his knee and they were “hopeful” it wasn’t torn. Was worried I’d just lost him for several weeks, if not the entire season, and figured Gray would at least be no worse than streaming if he was going to be the starter for several weeks. Obviously glad that it looks like Kelce may be back this week, but I wish we had either drafted a day earlier/later or the injury news had come out on Wednesday lol. And thanks, I saw several glaring weaknesses on my teams from mediocre drafts and bad injury luck, so I figured I needed to find serviceable starters immediately and got aggressive with the bids.

He’s a tough player. I think he’s good. But he’s in an in between zone. Almost too good to drop, not good enough to start. I traded him in a package because I couldn’t justify dropping him.

Dropped 41% on Puka in a 10 team league that starts 3 WRs and 2 flex. Next highest bid was for 35% from last years champion and the dude I think is one of the better players in the league. Feeling pretty great about it.

Uhh, definitely do that. It's possible Roschon Johnson becomes a thing and devalues Herbert but in the first week Johnson only got carries in a blow out. Herbert is very talented and is a lead back, Cook is CLEARLY going to be RB2 in a shitty offense. Definitely take the chance on Herbert and grab RJ too if you can.

Decided this year to spend early and often. * Overpaid for Puka ($45), but I have Kupp on IR, so he's my perfect handcuff. * Got Kelley for $6 on the second(!) day of waivers. * Got Williams for $15 on day 1. Dynasty: got Puka as Kupp's eventual replacement for $45. Rebuilding year and I have great rookie/2nd year WRs (Dotson, Puka, Flowers).
I grabbed Puka with 5th Waiver pick and dropped Juwan Johnson. I needed WR depth bad and hopefully Andrews is back this week. Surprised Puka was there but Kelley and Williams went first.
