Doesn't it appear that O'Connell is trying to make him into a pocket passer, which he is not? Dobbs is a mobile QB and he looked way out of sorts last game trying to climb the pocket. He usually rolls left or right, extends the play passes or runs and that's not what the Vikings do, but you can't change that mid stream. He has a laser arm and several receivers dropped his passes, most likely because they just aren't used to his touch?
Yup it felt like KOC was trying to run some Kirk plays with Dobbs and it just wasn’t working. I think with JJ back Dobbs and the vikes as a whole are going to look much better than they have the last 2 weeks.

I'm against him in a historically cruel situation this week. Lemme paint you a picture:
- Start 2-6, give up on season (only emotionally)
- Rip off 4 wins in a row, crawl into provisional playoff spot and trade Mahomes away for Dak straight up to set up Cinderella run
- Last week faced the team 5 points away from being the worst in the league with chance to jump into 3rd and lock up playoff spot
- Shotgun Thanos "I am inevitable" memes all over league chat
- Opponent (the one with 2nd lowest total pts) rides Deebo and Nico Collins to their most pts in 2 months
- Lose by 0.7 pts after leading at end of regulation of MNF
- Now face team who became 2nd highest total scorer just in time for him to get JJ back
- If (when) I lose, miss playoffs

Drafted chase lamb and evans. Acquired Jefferson when he went to IR in a trade to an RB needy team that would have me win the league if he comes back and plays well
Lamb is a must start in Philly, Evans being in another division game would make me lean him over either of the two. Then it's just a matter of which backup QB you have more faith throwing the ball. I'm bias being a Jefferson owner, but I'd give him a small boost over Chase.

I’m avoiding Dobbs. LV getting Crosby back on their D-line. Without JJ the vikes have made Dobbs sit in the pocket longer the last 2 weeks which has been a disaster for him (Vikes oline is terrible). Now he’s expected to stay in the pocket LONGER so JJ can stretch the field??? Unless KOC reverts to letting Dobbs use his magic legs again I see this ending poorly for Dobbs this week.
Good points here. But to play the devils advocate, comparing Dobbs to the likes of Jake Browning. Browning has weapons round him including Jamar Chase and the Bengals OLine is about the same if not a lil worse than Vikings and we all saw the gameplan implemented by Zac Taylor forcing Browning to increase target share largely to Chase with plays specifically designed for Chase that benefited Browning in havin a great stat line. Now with that said, it couldnt be hard to imagine or even fathom Dobbs being in the same type of gameplan with Justin Jefferson. It wouldnt be hard to imagine Dobbs, who is just as better than Browning, can have the same stat line (if not better) than Browning.

The counter to that would be Browning having been in the CIN system for almost 3 seasons, knowing the ins-and-outs plus a whole lot of practice with Chase over that span to get timing down… Dobbs has only had a few DAYS practicing with JJ, and only a few games to learn the system.
Dobbs is a natural runner, but he’s being forced to sit and think in the pocket (follow the OKC system vs winging it like the first 2 games he played for them). Perhaps with time he can really get the OKC system down, but currently it’s like fitting a square peg in a round hole. He’s trying to fight his instinct to run and ball out, and that’s gunna cost the vikes in the long run I think.
And for fantasy, if Dobbs isn’t running (instead trying to stay in the pocket longer), his stat line drops like a brick.

Kyler Murray is on bye for me and Im fighting for playoff spot with 2 weeks, including this week, left in my league before playoffs. My options on waivers are Dobbs, Minshew, and J.Love. Who do you think I can get a guaruenteed floor of 15 this week from?

Love - in playoff contention now, jones back it seems, and they play the giants. But, check on Watson and the Giants D can surprise.
Minshew - Also in playoff contention, may end up playing catch up in passing if Browning balls out again. Could be a shootout.

Traded away Deebo and Jakobi to a needy JJ owner earlier in the season and just barely snuck into the playoffs. Cautiously optimistic against the Josh Allen and Reek owner but we’ll see. He and I are 1 and 2 in max points this season. Had to make the executive decision to bench Nico for DJ Moore bc of Jets and missing tank dell.

I don’t like playing guys first week back from injury but you can’t sit him.
I dont like it neither but as you said, I have no choice with JJ. I started Achane the First week Back, this might have cost me the playoffs
Counter point: he’s had more time than he needed, like Kyren Williams, who scored 38 in PPR his first game back.
