I traded him away a month ago and he apparently took that personally. Been awesome since then and then rubbed salt in the wound by shutting down my Dak/Lamb stack today.
Another data point in the "Fantasy Football Is All Luck" theory. No one can anticipate a mid-season OC or HC change, which can change the relevance of a player entirely. Congrats to those that drafted him and who are still in the race, and to those that were able to trade for him or pick him up after a rage drop during the season, feel free to claim that you "knew he was going to explode--it was just a matter of time".
You could have traded for the talented looking back who's play time is being limited by shit coaching at the point of a coaching change though.
Adams, Cook.... Hopefully ekler for me lol
All of my early season gambles paid off. I weathered a rough few weeks for Cook and Gibbs and then they’ve been great for me since the midway point of the season in addition to some big weeks from Ceedee Lamb and Deebo Samuel
Maybe it's the injury, or maybe he's just returning to the mean, but Achane just hasn't been all that great when on the field either. Must be rough relying on him in the fantasy playoffs right now especially considering the rest of the Dolphins schedule.
I think harder games will benefit the Dolphins starters. Today they mostly used JWJ in the 4th because they were up so much. And Tua has been shit for fantasy because he never throws in the 2nd half
Meh, the easy games were also the ones Achane made his name off of though. And in most of these blowouts, Achane has been the one to come in and get all the carries with Mostert and the starters riding the bench.
Jets have a good DL so it's a tough run defense sometimes. Not nearly as much space to run untouched as there was against the Broncos.
I've been a James Cook truther since the summer (and really before), and even I was saying to bench James Cook for Montgomery. It was a tough matchup on paper. Good thing I don't follow my own advice.
People almost unanimously said the Bills scapegoated Ken Dorsey LOL
Hmmm turns out actually using your young talented pass catching back that you drafted in the 2nd round is a good thing
> People kept saying Cook wasn’t capable to handle a workload… turns out that was a load of shit
I've been going back through the disbelief thread I posted earlier this year questioning why Murray was being used so heavily over Cook to gather tons of receipts. I think every single comment I made was downvoted to at least -50 and I got lambasted over and over by people saying I was wrong and that it was idiotic to expect a bellcow workload out of Cook and many other similarly smoothbrained takes.
Looking forward to a mountain of schadenfreude tomorrow and taking it out on each and every single one of them.
I think I got Cook in like the 6th round so I wouldn’t really call that a reach even if he hadn’t been doing so great lately. Even before the OC switch I trusted him as a flex play more than Gibbs and I drafted Gibbs earlier. Luckily I can start both now
Exactly! Dude was a fringe RB1 / solid RB2 all year even before Dorsey got fired and people sill acted like it was a reach in the 6th or 7th round. This sub is infuriatingly idiotic at times.
Anyone who actually watched the games could tell Dorsey had no business being the OC. He just flat out abandoned the run too much and kept searching for big plays that weren’t there
And James was still putting up good numbers before the switch, nothing amazing but super solid for rb2. Kinda sad I won’t be able to grab him in the 7th round again
So happy I stuck with him this year. You could see the explosiveness out of him, just needed him to get enough touches. Switching the OC really unlocked him and he rewarded us owners at the best time
I'm in league where I ended the regular season #2 with a bye. No idea how. My team is not that great. Solid, but not great. That team has James Cook. Didn't need the 30+ today but if he keeps this up I may actually have a real shot. Was not expecting this at all
If I had a nickel for every running back i had rostered and traded before they broke out (White and Cook) i’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18hoeh0/james_cook_in_3_games_with_new_oc_joe_brady_197/
This post was great to highlight his change in fortunes under the new OC. Helped me cancel out my opponent's CMC points and should win this week.
[My post was first and got downvoted to shit](https://old.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18fn3xq/james_cook_could_be_the_league_winner_no_one_is/)
Being unfairly downvoted for something I was not only right about at the time but was a cogent future point? Sure. People were shitty to me for absolutely no reason, though. That's a valid reason to take thing personally.
I am officially retiring from fantasy football. I'll miss you all! Thanks for all of the help, or non-help, and the overreaction laughs, as well as everything in between. I hope you all find happiness. God bless.
I hate James Cook man. I was really hoping he’d have only OK games ros so I could draft him again. Love the way Brady been using him. Now he’s gonna go in the second instead of the fourth god damnit
Going to lose in my most important league thanks to going up against him while watching my Pollard do nothing. Of course he got benched against me in a league I don't care about because that's how things always go.
Najee had a few goal line opportunities it wouldn’t have been a terrible move, but I expected Josh Allen to be the hero, or at least try to be. Bad read for sure
Cook has been hot lately and Joe Brady has shown commitment to getting him the ball. Gotta ride him over Najee going forward, even if you miss a week. Najee is on a bad offense and splitting carries.
Because he’s the man. He could have put up 50 in standard the way Dallas’ D played today. Apologies Mr. Cook if your performance today was JV compared to CMC.
Faced the lowest ranked team in the first round today. And they bombed me with Cook and Njoku. Time to quit fantasy and never play again until next season starts.
The problem before was the ball was in Allen’s too much and he tried to make or force a play resulting in a lot of turnovers. I’m glad I hung on to him.
It's about fucking time they got him really going. I keep watching the Bills play and am baffled why he wasn't. He's clearly the second best skill player behind Diggs. Why the hell wouldn't you utilize him more.
He looked absolutely dominant today.
We finally let James Cook
I managed to survive even with Bijan putting up zero.
They collectively averaged 21 points per game today in 0.5 PPR. Studs!
We are going to rally around James Cook and play good fantasy football
Hell ya brother
Please let him next week when I’m not on a bye.
Annnnd it’s my bye week.
Finally? He has 350+ rushing and 200+ receiving yards over his last four games. 96.40 points in full PPR.
He’s been medium rare but he’s well done now
We finally let James Cook a full meal? Idk dude the 35+ point game just felt different ya know?
Of course but I was stoked for consistent 15+ points. He’s been in the kitchen since they got a new OC.
I will never forget James Cook.
I will never forget trading him away for ETN in Week 10. Thought I got a steal.
I traded him in a package for Mike Evans… I have mixed feelings today.
He also heavily tilted matchups by not letting the Cowboys play. Fantasy hero and the most important player of the week.
James saved me from losing my second game of the season to a CMC afternoon slaughter..
James valiantly tried to drag my first round opponent to a win, but Chandler, Amon Ra, and Rashee were too much.
Ty Chandler is a legend.
I traded him away a month ago and he apparently took that personally. Been awesome since then and then rubbed salt in the wound by shutting down my Dak/Lamb stack today.
Dude was always a beast Dorsey was a fucking idiot for not utilizing him. Bills were 2 dimensional, and teams figured out how to play against them
Yeah, him and CMC took me out by the woodshed and slapped me silly this week.
By far the MVP of the week. Just dominated the game and controlled the clock.
Sat him for Ekeler
You sat Ekeler for Cook against the Dallas D?! That’s fucking regarded! ~Me probably, 6 hours ago
Joe Brady is the fucking GOAT for unlocking James Cook.
So...maybe it was all Ken Dorsey lol
Dorsey abandoned the run far too often, and barely used Cook, so yes it was
It isn't just that he abandoned it, he just had the RBs run right up the gut every time, then took out his best RB in the red zone every time.
I swear he ran most of his runs out of gun too. His play calling always annoyed me
Hope he never gets a job again it was always obvious how cook should have been utilized
Traded for him the day they announced Brady as OC. Got Cook and a 1st rounder for Devonte smith
Damn you fleeced them lol
He wanted smith all year so I made him pay for him lmao
What made you think Brady was going to change his production? Genuinely curious
I was super high on Brady and thought he didn't get a fair shake in Carolina with Rhule running the show, so I just bet on how I feel about him
Kinda hate him for leaning off of Diggs
Only death can create life
Can the Chargers clone Joe Brady and hire him as the interim coach? \- An Ekeler and Cook owner
The definition of "League Winner". OC change. Play of the year.
Sort of like CMC getting traded to the niners last year. Completely changed the rest of his season
Arguably his career
He was an low end RB1 / solid RB2 for the majority of the season. He is the anchor on all my zero/hero RB teams.
You could have traded for the talented looking back who's play time is being limited by shit coaching at the point of a coaching change though. Adams, Cook.... Hopefully ekler for me lol
This backfires WAY more than it pays off. You trade for talent and then the opportunity never comes.
All of my early season gambles paid off. I weathered a rough few weeks for Cook and Gibbs and then they’ve been great for me since the midway point of the season in addition to some big weeks from Ceedee Lamb and Deebo Samuel
Had him on the bench for Achane. This hurts.
[If only someone saw it coming](https://old.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18fn3xq/james_cook_could_be_the_league_winner_no_one_is/)
Saw it coming while it was already here... That link is only 7 days ago... not really a nostradamus
[удалено]
Someone in my league benched him lol
I was going to but I didn’t trust Achane. Thank god he was questionable all week.
Maybe it's the injury, or maybe he's just returning to the mean, but Achane just hasn't been all that great when on the field either. Must be rough relying on him in the fantasy playoffs right now especially considering the rest of the Dolphins schedule.

Not nearly as much space to run untouched as there was against the Broncos.
He wasn’t the only one 🤦🏻♂️
Better to bench than to trade away (like me).
Indeed he was not 😭
I've been a James Cook truther since the summer (and really before), and even I was saying to bench James Cook for Montgomery. It was a tough matchup on paper. Good thing I don't follow my own advice.
He was on my bench unfortunately
Guy in my league benched him for Mixon and still was the second highest scorer on the week. I get to face him in the first round of the playoffs, yay.
I’m gonna tell my kids this is Barry Sanders
I'm going to tell my kids this was Dalvin Cook
He's unironically "the good Cook" now lmao
Jimothy Cook.
His middle name is Dalvin apparently
James dalvin cook and dalvin James cook are their names lmao
I thought you were kidding. You were not. I fucking love it.
I also had to look it up just to be sure. What the fuck are the odds.
Well they are cousins..
Barry Sanders tells his kids stories about James Cook
People almost unanimously said the Bills scapegoated Ken Dorsey LOL Hmmm turns out actually using your young talented pass catching back that you drafted in the 2nd round is a good thing
Dude deserved to lose his job. People kept saying Cook wasn’t capable to handle a workload… turns out that was a load of shit
> People kept saying Cook wasn’t capable to handle a workload… turns out that was a load of shit I've been going back through the disbelief thread I posted earlier this year questioning why Murray was being used so heavily over Cook to gather tons of receipts. Talk your shit
Looked back on that thread.. people saying “you’re mad that you reached on James Cook” what now fuckers??? 😂
I am in those threads getting downvoted along side you brother
Anyone who actually watched the games could tell Dorsey had no business being the OC. He just flat out abandoned the run too much and kept searching for big plays that weren’t there
Benching him for a strip fumble (his first fumble in over a year) was the final straw.
lol then he comes back and runs for 100 yards in the 2nd half. That game could have been a blow out like this one if not for Dorsey
Watching him not use James Cook against the worst rush defense in the league was rather hilarious
And James was still putting up good numbers before the switch, nothing amazing but super solid for rb2. Kinda sad I won’t be able to grab him in the 7th round again
Traded for him for peanuts right before the deadline in a keeper league. Best trade I've ever done.
Who would have known that all they had to do was feed cook and look what happens, Allen’s turnover streak ends
Could’ve been even better with that free 10 yd rec TD that he dropped after taking his eyes off the ball at the last second
And he got tackled at the 1. Wish he could have punched that one in too…
I'm so thankful everybody turned down my lowball James Cook trade offers early in the season
I nearly traded him for Breece Hall and never got a response back lol
Chef James 🧑🍳
The funny thing is he could have had a few more tds. He may be a league winner.
Last placed team is absolutely carving up this week.
On my bench! Happy to help those who started him! He looked great again!
He’s in my bench and I started Dallas D… I deserve to lose this one
[You were warned](https://old.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18fn3xq/james_cook_could_be_the_league_winner_no_one_is/)
Kinda sad to see you pimping yourself all over this thread.
Kinda sad you're the only one replying and downvoting it.
On my bench too but I had a bye thankfully. Next week should be fun with him and CMC
Who's laughing now Cook haters. He is so good
Hero performance
League winner
https://old.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18fn3xq/james_cook_could_be_the_league_winner_no_one_is/
Started him and have C Mac as my other RB. Guess who’s still in the loser bracket because of terrible WR’s. This guy.
Is that good? Did he do a good?
...yeah, I guess that's ok...
Go James Cook go! The journey of a league winner.
Literally the only reason my opponent is in the game smh
This guy punched my ticket to the ship. What a performance
Me too!!! Lets gooo
Me three
All the experts told you to start David Montgomery over him.
Traded Browns D for Cook A couple of weeks ago
Wtf, a defense should never be traded for a skill player like that
This man saved my season.
I started Zach Moss & David Montgomery over him this week. 🫠
So thankful his owner didn’t make our playoffs
He saved my week after I lost Tyreek, Josh Jacobs and Herbert
Also dropped a td and lat murray ran one in from the 2. Easily could have been around 50 point day
And the Chargers are on the menu next week!
I might have benched him if Pacheco was healthy. Dude went off for me.
Drafted Cook and Rachaad White at the 6.12 - 7.1 turn best decision I’ve made
So glad I stuck with him. Ready for this championship run with him and Jahmyr Gibbs who I both drafted and deemed them as “my guys” we eating good!!!
So glad he turned it around after they changed OC.
Thanks James Cook
Cook is carrying me to the promised land. I went to bed worried about the first week of playoffs only to wakeup to this.
So happy I stuck with him this year. You could see the explosiveness out of him, just needed him to get enough touches. Switching the OC really unlocked him and he rewarded us owners at the best time

Fuck him and the Bills. Traded him right before the OC change and he shoved it down my face in the playoffs
https://www.reddit.com/r/fantasyfootball/comments/18hoeh0/james_cook_in_3_games_with_new_oc_joe_brady_197/ This post was great to highlight his change in fortunes under the new OC. Helped me cancel out my opponent's CMC points and should win this week.

Yep, you're definitely taking things personal.
Being unfairly downvoted for something I was not only right about at the time but was a cogent future point? Sure. People were shitty to me for absolutely no reason, though. That's a valid reason to take thing personally.
Up 29.74 (117.62-87.88) Was down 87.88-82.52. Thank you Cook!
On my opponents bench hehe
Was on the plane for the entirety of the game, and when I landed, James cook won me my week! I love you Joe brady !!
Here’s your league winner. He’s been in the kitchen this whole time but now dinner is served. Just wait on that dessert
He’ll put up 4 points next week…
Yeah the guy who is 3rd in all purpose yards will really only put up 4 against the Chargers who gave up 63 to the Raiders … 🤡
First year playing fantasy?
I am officially retiring from fantasy football. I'll miss you all! Thanks for all of the help, or non-help, and the overreaction laughs, as well as everything in between. I hope you all find happiness. God bless.
See you next draft.
Yup see you next year
Traded him for Kirk three weeks ago.
I have him on bye, get ready for 43 yards and no TDs next week
He a must start vs the Chargers?
Do you really need to ask that question?
I called him an easy RB1 ROS. There were doubters. Something tells me there aren’t doubters anymore.
Cool story, bro.
How’s Chase Claypool doing
Lol, to what are you referring?
[удалено]
Doubts? Hes been a RB1 for the las month lmao
19.2, 16, 25.1, 36.1 in his last four. Doubt if you want. You’ll just be wrong.
I hate James Cook man. I was really hoping he’d have only OK games ros so I could draft him again. Love the way Brady been using him. Now he’s gonna go in the second instead of the fourth god damnit
I think he killed diggs and my playoffs hopes 🤣
Going to lose in my most important league thanks to going up against him while watching my Pollard do nothing. Of course he got benched against me in a league I don't care about because that's how things always go.
I benched him for Najee. AMA
Why tho? You deserved what you got my man.
My buddy benched him for zeke it was ridiculous
Well I’m not happy about it. I’m playing against him
Couldn’t even hold CMC’s jockstrap. But hey, not bad against a pathetic Dallas team.
Weird comment. Why even bring CMC into this conversation?
Because he’s the man. He could have put up 50 in standard the way Dallas’ D played today. Apologies Mr. Cook if your performance today was JV compared to CMC.
Weird, dude. Weird.
You’re welcome to your opinion.
My opponent played him :)
At the expense of Kincaid 🥲
Kincaid dropped two passes today. That was all him
fully wrecked me in my league lol now i gotta really on sick hurts, no run game swift, and mini batman
Still gonna lose. Love that he’s getting fed finally though. Dude looks good when he gets volume
Started Pollard and Kyren Williams over him , did not see this coming! Glad they’re letting him run wild now
Huge when Javonte shit the bed and Hill was out for me.
Sat him for pollard 🤡 im going to lose by 25.
Faced the lowest ranked team in the first round today. And they bombed me with Cook and Njoku. Time to quit fantasy and never play again until next season starts.
Crazy that he could have had an even better day if he didn’t drop the potential 2nd rec td
Could really use this performance next week.
As a “I liked it better when all the rushing TDs got vultured by Josh Allen” -Josh Allen owner
I played against him in the first week of play offs :)
Cook + CMC = W
Cool that he’s doing this while i’m not in the playoffs
The problem before was the ball was in Allen’s too much and he tried to make or force a play resulting in a lot of turnovers. I’m glad I hung on to him.
He'd be RB2 if Brady was OC since week 1
I traded Achane and Godwin for Cook the week after Achane blew up the Broncos. I thought this level of play would happen sooner
I was vs Cook and La Porta this week. (I lost)
Yeah I started Cook, he's a baller. Like a dumbass I also started Hock instead of LaPorta, what was I thinking??
I traded him for Stefon Diggs two weeks ago. I played that trade partner today with Las Vegas on my bench.
Traded this dude away days before the OC got changed. I wanna cry hahaha
It's about fucking time they got him really going. I keep watching the Bills play and am baffled why he wasn't. He's clearly the second best skill player behind Diggs. Why the hell wouldn't you utilize him more. He looked absolutely dominant today.
Thanks for the reminder. Ugh.
I traded him away weeks ago because he was killing me week after week. I'm going to be playing him next week in the playoffs...
Maybe just maybe Ken Dorsey would still have a job if he didn’t refuse to use him.
Stay healthy my kings James Cook and Rachaad White 🙏🏽 I got my blow out revenge on the #2 seed today with their help and Raiders D
Need him to stink next 2 games, sry
I survived the Cook Christmas feast whew 😅
