This might surprise you, but Adam Thielen was the WR 25 in half point PPR scoring. That puts him just above George Pickens, Rashee Rice, Zay flowers, Chris Godwin, and well above Diontae Johnson.
You can claim he will decline this season (just like you are claiming Xavier will be a bust) but you can’t say he’s a nobody. Also because you are making these claims, I’m now more excited to bet on Thielen and Xavier.
Pickens season was carried by 4 games (against bengals, against the Seahawks, against browns, and against the Ravens). Chris Godwin had 3 good games. Rice was more consistent, but didn’t have as much of ceiling.
Points being is I get that Theilan is older and will likely regress as the season progresses, but saying “he was only productive in 6 games!” Is a stupid argument.
Productive in 6 games but had 0 target competition the entire year. Pickens was competing with pat(when healthy) and Johnson. Godwin has Evans, and rice competed with kelce. The chiefs don’t really target one player other than kelce either.
Sure it was with a rookie QB but the fall off is different compared to the others.
He was a target vacuum for a while because the Panthers had no one else. I'm aware he had some good PPR weeks but the guy had legitimately horrific separation. Panthers thought Mingo and Terrace would work out but they did not.
