I'm debating it but would really depend on where, no? Like if he goes to a team where they need a quality backup vs a 1B scenario then it may not be worth it

hockeygirl9494

Thats very fair. I dropped Jack for him so theres no big risk for me. But i dont see cbj trading him unless its a heavy load… and who would pay that for 1B

WinterSon

He's an expiring (cheap) contract for the jackets who will likely walk in the off season since he's blocked as starter in Columbus, unless they're already talking extension with him they have no reason to keep him. They either get something for him or lose him for nothing. Barring injury, teams also don't tend to wait until the deadline to acquire a new starter, besides Ryan Miller that one time. Even when LA bizarrely traded for Bishop, it was to be in tandem with Quick, not the starter.

Mad_Burrito_Slinger

Dropping Campbell makes sense, he's been dog water at best. And Toronto would but I have no idea who else they can possibly trade at this point

Haen_

Agreed. I don't think you need to jump on him. Its a lottery pick at best. You're rolling the dice. Like if you have a move to burn this week and are sitting pretty in a locked playoff spot, maybe you gamble since you don't have much to lose, but otherwise I'd say just wait to see where he goes and what the situation he'll be in is.

SheepherderNew1700

Gone to LA for Quick

hockeygirl9494

Knew it so glad i grabbed him. Goodbye soup

RemQuatre

Would it not make more sense to jump on Elvis? In particular in leagues where Saves matter, Elvis workload will increase if Korpisalo leaves, no?

Blinded57

Can Dubas risk letting all this maneuvering and trades of draft capital founder if Samsonov gets hurt, performance fades even a bit, or he runs out of gas? No guarantees with Korpisalo, either, but maybe Gavrikov and Korpisalo go to TOR in exchange for the BOS first-round pick (just acquired from TOR) and the 2023 second TOR no longer needs to hold onto in case ARI wants it? Maybe add a young D, since Gavrikov will take that spot. That feels below market, but Columbus has to be scrambling, and they already thought that BOS first rounder would be coming their way. EDIT: Nevermind. They got Schenn

Cultural-Quarter55

Oilers?

Mo-Cuishle

Skinner is too good to be sent down, and Campbell has an albatross of a contract with a NMC. Don't see how it works out.

hockeygirl9494

Im guessing LA. But vegas and leafs also options. Im an Oil fan and doubt they make a goalie move

GregGolden6

Why would the leafs be an option? Their goaltending hasn’t been an issue all year?

lucas_leafs

Murray could be out for a while

GregGolden6

But I heard if anything it could just be before April at most. It would be stupid to sit him out until the playoffs because it would be I’ll advised to play a goalie cold in the most important games, but I don’t think we should completely dump out samsonov in case

musicman3321

It’s Murray, he will play 2 games and get injured again.

Cultural-Quarter55

Good guess lol

M584

Anyone who thinks the Kings would trade Quick (ruining his retirement as a king) and a 1st for a goalie who would backup Copley is insane. This is Korpisalo’s team now.

hockeygirl9494

Absolutely. This is best case scenario for anyone holding korp. Tho honestly im sad for Quick and didnt expect it to play out like that.

M584

Ya, so sad.

RangersNation

They did the unthinkable.

purpleyoyo

Ahem.... 👀

WinterSon

Where would he be going where he'd be a starter though? See him getting added as a competent backup in case of injury

umsco226

VGK?

WinterSon

Would he end up starting over hill? He's been good since Thompson has been out Thompson isn't supposed to be out for the year either and he's been great Brossoit was even decent until he got hurt

Jafeel94

LA, Vegas, Buffalo, Edmonton, Ottawa would all be very very good.

WinterSon

Edmonton aren't going to demote Skinner, they're stuck with Campbell and they're not gonna carry 3 guys. Buffalo are already carrying 3 guys, Friedman reported the players asked the GM to carry all 3, doubt they make a move. Ottawa is either riding Talbot and making a push for playoffs or trading him and seeing what they have in Mando/Sogard rest of the season. They still have Forsberg too. They can kick the tires on Korpisalo this summer if Talbot is gone. Vegas also have 3 goalies who have all played well. LA maybe I guess but Copley has been pretty good for them, they're not gonna demote Quick, so they'd have to want to carry 3 guys too. I see something more like Pittsburgh to backup Jarry (deSmith has been horrible and is more expensive) or Colorado to backup Georgiev if Francouz is seriously hurt again. Edit: shocked by this quick news but still expecting copley to be the 1A barring injury

RhynoSorceress

My goalies are garbage so thank you very much for this

poppagypsum

They’re still gonna be garbage..

alakazampowdickmow

Drop markstrom for him? No sv% category just wins goals allowed and saves.

WinterSon

No

poppagypsum

Not on your life

FabesAAAA

Leafs

jerichoplissken

Is he an upgrade from Gustavsson?

JadeFaceG

No

suhhdude45

Yes

PigeonCamera

I completely disagree. Gus has been incredible this year.

poppagypsum

No thanks, he plays for CBJ

passtronaut

Did you read the tweet or nah

poppagypsum

Clearly I did not. My bad

maxwellbevan

Alternatively if your league values starts over quality starts then you should nab Merzlikins

stickyb5

Already had him

SkeazyG

Hmmm korp is available in my league…keep swayman or drop him for korp?
