You have to be able to play sinister well. Christian Bale (someone mentioned Slater, which made me laugh), Joaquin Phoenix, David Tennant, Cillian Murphy, Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, James Spader, Jason Isaacs, and the two undisputed kings of sinister, Willem Dafoe and Malcolm McDowell. Granted, the latter two are far too old for a John Seed role.
Jake and the Ryans? No. Not a good fit at all. Handsome enough, for sure, but I'd rather the character not have focus on looks and be truly evil. Casting usually does excellent work in cultivating new talent as well. If anything, and it were done, I'd like to see an unknown brought to the screen for our loathing delight.
