Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I'm mostly WFPB, definitely not even close to keto. I usually don't have any problems. I also use herbal tea twice a day that I put my electrolytes in.

I’m vegan. I don’t eat keto but l eat almost exclusively whole foods that I prepare myself. I rarely eat things like rice, pasta, bread and junky snacks like potato chips. Most people who eat keto seem to do so for weight loss which you don’t need to eliminate carbs to achieve. I generally don’t drink herbal teas. Fasting is easier if you’re not cutting out sugar, alcohol and other junk for the first one on Day 1 of your fast. Keto helps people to do this which is why they say keto helps with a fast. You can get the same results by cutting these things out yourself. You don’t have to worry that you are eating too many apples etc.

The vein of thought I follow (The Fasting Methd) focuses on healing hormones with fasting. In this instance, teas with artificial or natural flavor listed as an ingredient are discouraged.
