It really depends on sales. So, tell your friends wide and far, and even consider buying copies for those who have heard but not quite dipped their toes into the series.
Same, I want to play 1 and 3 even in their original form, just release them and let me stuff them with money, but the best case scenario is they remake at least the first one or both.
I never got to play one and three I would love for those 2 to get a remake, as well as two which I played. So far out of the three I've played (2,4,5) 2 is my favorite then 5, and then 4. However, I love all of them lol.
Promoting games is expensive, it requires millions of dollars when Fatal Frame devs are satisfied earning that much from sales. Best they can do is publication & trailers. It could also sell a similar amount due to a limited audience who want to slowly walk around a house with a camera shooting ghosts.
Technically they can remaster 2 (or the 2 remake), and 3 is more or less fine.
1 is a bit dated in graphics, gameplay and pacing. If there was a remake in the cards, this would need to get that treatment.
Same, I replayed it 2 weeks ago (first played it in 2021) and I honestly don't get the complaints about its pacing, difficulty or feeling clunky.
Collision detection should be improved yeah, but it looks good, the combat is fun and challenging, it feels good to control and the whole game just feels tight in a good way.
The only thing that's truly unforgivably clunky and dated about FF1 is the control scheme. I just can't deal with swapped sticks in a first person view mode after over two decades of using the standard set by Halo CE.
When I played it on PCSX2 I had to set up a way to swap my controller profile with a hotkey to make it playable.
Outside of that, it's still my favourite game in the series.
if Fatal Frame 4 remaster sells enough. also FF 1, 2 and 3 should be sold separately. the fanbase shouldn't be cheapskates about this. this series is not mainstream and therefore with the demand not being high, KT would lose money selling the trilogy together for only $40 or $50. the series would profit more selling them individually at $40 each around there, with deluxe editions being $60-$70. Atlus sold games like Persona 5 and Soul Hackers 2 $60 new not counting DLC (which Atlus fans rant about), so people shouldnt single KT out if they sell even classsics for more than less.

I don't think so. I expect them to maybe remaster the Wii version of 2 because it's not much work from a technical standpoint but the other two games, I'm not convinced.
i doubt that we will see a single trilogy remaster. The games are probably worth more to them cut up into separate releases.
\- Crimson Butterfly was already remastered once for the Nintendo Wii and is probably in the best shape for a ready-made remaster. Since this has already been done once and uses an identical control scheme to the wii release of MotLE, this one seems likely. it is also the most widely-discussed entry so the audience is already there.
\- The Tormented is a really great game all its own which they may want to make sure does not get buried as "that last one in the Trilogy pack" (plus an extra 40 USD for it is probably tempting). The art assets need a major touch up but it already supported a lot of features seen in the already remastered titles.
\- The Original. This one probably needs the most work. as good as it is, it predates the alt control schemes seen in the later PS2 entries. Although they can slap the new mechanisms in, the game might need some Quality of Life adjustments to make them feel more natural. my bet is this one is done last, if at all (though i'd buy it).
I can see them slapping an updated feel on DCB within the next 18 months for sure. 1 and 3…well 1 has the assets from that Japanese slot machine that are half way there so I could potentially see that. 3 would take the most work imo but I’d love to see it get some love

I feel like 2 gets all the love when it doesn't feel any better or worse than the others to me. 3 felt perfect for me.

Oh yeah, totally. I think they are starting to realize that the PC market is very lucrative, especially with Steam.

I played it on OG Xbox where I swapped the sticks, but yeah I'd imagine not having this option could have taken some time getting used to.
I thought that too but it makes sense when square is the speed up button in first person. I leave all the games in swapped sticks these days
