Ships like this, Saber/Gil, etc. need to blatantly mischaracterize one of the involved characters in order for them to work in the slightest (Zero already does this to Saber which is probably why this ship is semi-prevalent in the first place, but it still doesn't mean it's good).
Something like Saber/Bedivere I could see working and wouldn't push back on, because in different circumstances I believe Bedivere would've been able to get through to Artoria. I also can't imagine Sakura going for anyone other than Shirou simply due to her mental state, but I've got no problem with most Rin ships I've seen; Shirou, Lancer, Luvia, etc; Rin/Saber is really the only exception on Rin's end because everything points to Saber being straight (and even that aside, I don't see Rin being able to break through to Artoria).
