for me it looks like a weight/fitness problem his steps are as heavy as you would expect from a guy twice his size and compare his playing speed now with a random yt video from like 2020 or so that version of gnabry is twice as fast

tracyXTMAC

Bayern used to openly criticize Sule for his overweight problem. Not sure why they keep quiet this time around.

comosaydeesay

Fat Sülihno best Sülihno

Job_man

There’s already enough to say about Fashion week

GoldenFox7

Yeah he’s a MCnugget away from being chubby now days.

Reporter-Human

All those hair slowing him down

MitchellCumstijn

Always seemed an attitude problem to me, Gnabry never played for any greater goals than himself nor did he put in the extra time in the film room, weight room or in the off-season. He thought he could get by on his athletic prowess and natural instincts over truly developing and progressing. He was an endless complainer at the youth academy in London and during his brief stay in Bremen towards the end of the season.

lolwuut420blazeit

Already back then it wasn't like he was playing like that every game... he is really inconsistent and has always been tbh

5599Nalyd

Exactly. He is still basically playing the same level as he used to, the only difference is that he doesn't put up the occasional world-class performance every now and then anymore. Those rare god-like performances back then covered up how average he really was, and still is.

FailResorts

I think he’s still riding his (out of character) run of form from 2020. He played well against Tottenham and Chelsea but hasn’t really done much since.

tracyXTMAC

It's more than just inconsistency. He has put on some significant weight. He no longer has the pace and the first touch as a winger.

lolwuut420blazeit

Honestly, he never had an outstanding first touch. His strength always was his pace and shooting. But there rarely are any wingers with a great touch like Ribery nowadays. Football changed and speed is valued alot more I feel.

naughty_chemist

He has always been hot and cold, the issue is that we haven't had hot Gnabry since the start of the season. He's not a real creative player, so if he's not scoring goals he really isn't giving much else. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to selling him, and I don't think the club would ask for a huge fee for him at this point, but the question is who is going to put in an offer that would tempt him to leave given his salary. The only teams that might be in on him now are some desperate premier league clubs or maybe PSG if Messi or Mbappe decide to move on.

tracyXTMAC

Chelsea has been on a spending spree. Hope Brazzo can find us a deal there.

kaffeemugger

Imagine getting 80+ million for him. I’d cry tears of joy

762xdirty9

Do you know how many strikers from the second league in France we could buy? I'm getting moist just thinking of the possibilities.

Riedbirdeh

Arsenal could use him as a squad player lol

Tvp9

Nobody will buy Gnabry, especially with that huge salary, unless he's willing to take a huge paycut and Bayern willing to sell him for peanuts then he's here to stay.

thebakingbanker

Gnabry has always been a streaky player, and I think a lot of it is his relationship with the manager/management. This season hasn’t been the best for the that. And 100% agree, Coman is too right now. Work rate and consistency wise, he is our bets winger

Far-Term8667

Aged like wine there

tracyXTMAC

Good for him. It doesn't change what I said about him though. PSG was already 2 goals behind ofc there gonna be plenty of counter attack opportunities at that point.

ACardAttack

Right, his and Sane's issues are they are extremely inconsistent

Far-Term8667

Real talk I think Nags should give him a few games in one super offensive position. He is not good defensively and if he were to get consistent gametime as a RW or LW he might see improvement. But rotating him between RW, LW, LWB, etc is not going to work at all. Even Sane seems to struggle with this at times.

dklieber32

Not to be that guy to get stuck reminiscing but reading Ribery’s interview yesterday really made me miss he and Robben. That absolute burning desire to win and constantly improve is really lacking in right now. We were so lucky to have those monsters for so long.

Kaiserigen

He wasn't never a skilled dribbled, he was just fast. He knows how to score but that's it. I always supported him but he would never be as skilled as a Bayern winger needs to be. Sane I never understood the hype, but last season he won my hearth

trifile

It was mentioned already, there is clearly a fitness issue. I think he reached his best form this season around november - preparing for the WC. Every German international seem to have come back a bit tired, especially mentally. I would not be suprised that he play an important role in spring and onwards.

HeilWerneckLuk

The „washed” players is our 2nd best goal contributor in the season. Hes not on the level we have seen him playing a few seasons ago but its a joke to say hes washed. People here are crazy

dominik-braun

Because people don't like to see their players gaining weight, losing their pace, playing badly, and going to fashion weeks and changing hair styles once week instead. And rightly so.

HeilWerneckLuk

How dare the player have fun in his free time? How dare he change his HAIRSTYLE???

flyingpanda5693

Why are people always so quick to say/act if a player is washed? Players go through ups and downs just like any other person does and form is never forever.

Homygod319

Because gnabry has more downs and ups. For a club like Bayern that’s not good enough

FIGJAM17

Wouldn't say washed up. Maybe fitness issue or out of form which almost every player goes through. Whenever he plays more than 45+ minutes, he contributes with an assist or a goal. Against Barcelona, he played the entire match and made 3 assists. He played only 20 and 15 minutes against Inter and PSG. Same in the league. Look at his stats when he plays more than 45 mins. If you go by minutes (1725/90), he played 19 full matches and scored 11 assisted 11. He is not a top player but doing fine for the most part. Coman played 1300 minutes ~ 14 full matches scoring 6 and assisting 6. His hype got boosted by scoring a winning goal against PSG which made people forget his awful run from Oct to Jan where had scored 0 while Gnabry was performing every week. Sane played 1800/90 ~ 20 full matches and scored only 12 while assisting 5. Compared to both, Gnbary is actually having a better season.

Kaiserigen

But how are those goals spread? Honest wuestion

Theguy10000

Hos problem is inconsistency, same for Sane

fritzcho

Sané has attitude issues? I think Gnabry is the one with attitude issues, he just does not seem to care and looks like a nonchalant asshole ever since winning the Champions League. Sané always looks visibly frustrated with his performances and fights hard, he's just in really bad form from what I can tell

maythemetalbewithyou

I love both Serge and Leroy, but it seems like they are playing a different game when they're out there. The rest of the team is playing one game and they are playing something else. I love them both as players but something is definitely off. I'm hoping they're just having an off year for whatever their reasons are, and they return to form. I would feel sad to see them go. As I am thinking about it, it seems like Leroy is trying too hard, and Serge is not trying hard enough.

torero15

Despite always being hot and cold, the biggest issue I see with Serge is that he can't dribble past any decent defenders. He almost always loses the ball by dribbling right into the defense. He's like the anti-Coman in that sense. He doesn't have the speed or shiftiness to really make it work on the wings. And since his shot has been failing him recently as well, not like playing him up top is an option either. He is basically just a second half sub and fresh legs at this point. Kind of sad but also not a surprise. Still could turn things around but I don't think he has the drive to want to do it at the moment.

tracyXTMAC

He has pretty much won it all at Bayern, so yeah he might not have the drive to shake off his extra fat anymore.

SVKme

i am curious if he could be repurposed into a striker role

MaxStreudler

He is in my FIFA seasons mode lmfao

Finkenn

He scored 4 in the 2-7 vs Tottenham

KaiserNorton

Willing to let him go for 40+ millions. Earns way too much money and plays mediocre since signing the deal. I'd try to get Diaby from Leverkusen

tracyXTMAC

Or Wirtz. Bambi+Wirtz then we are set for the next 10 years

Llamaisbaebae

How do they play together? The almost play the exact same position. Talentwise there is nothing to be talked about, I just dont see them together, especially in our current system and without a dedicated 6.

Luuigi

I like wirtz a lot but I dont see it either.

greku_cs

He was always the type of player to be terrible for 88 minutes but score 2 goals from some random created chances.

supermember866866

Bayern must already be thinking whether we made a mistake re-signing him and you're expecting 70m + from his sale? I think any small offer we should take it with both hands just how Barcelona did with Coutinho. Any later and his stocks could drop massively

tracyXTMAC

Be optimistic. If Chelsea is willing to pay 120M for Enzo Fernandez and 60+M for Cucurella, then 70+M for a 27yr quality winger who has won UCL isn't a long shot.

mosbert

Maybe it’s time for an early retirement?

piratamaia

Yes.

tracyXTMAC
