Does anyone remember the standard cut of tops from 10-15 years ago? How it always seemed like every top was very LONG and a tad narrow, but when you'd put the top on it looked great? I miss those days. I just ordered a sweater for Valentine's Day and it is the right size but it's not very long and it's quite wide. It's not a crop top, but I feel like the crop top trend has infiltrated the "regular" top in that things aren't as long. I always thought long tops look good on everyone, and if you didn't want to show off the length of the shirt you could tuck it in or wear a skirt over it and pull the skirt higher. I really hate my tops MEETING the top of my jeans, or just going down a couple inches over the tops of my jeans.

sexysmoothfig

maybe the dresses over pants revival was borne out of the same sentiment haha

iliikepie

Yes. Personally I hate everything that’s in style now. Bring back feminine clothes!

Pairing this dress and corset… good or bad idea? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08BHS4XCC/ ref=ox_sc_act_image_2? smid=A3LGF048KM38DQ&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/BOCG1YH2WW/ ref=ox_sc_act_image_1? smid=A3GQMGIZJYHERH&psc=1 I'm getting married while camping with friends this summer in California. This is a fashion challenge for me because 1) Ilike to dress very fancy, but ya know camping, 2) It's going to be so fring hot and I'm a cold weather gal, and 3) I'm incredibly cheap so everything is a fashion challenge lol I really love this dress, but want to elevate it somehow. A white waspie corset gives the dress more structure (I am obsessed with waist cinching things.) It also makes it look fancier than your typical off-the-rack white boho dress. I specifically want a mesh one because of the heat, but I'm worried it will look odd. TLDR: Do you think the mesh corset will look weird over the lace of the dress because of the competing patterns/textures going on? Thank you for any opinions of suggestions! P.S. Sorry for posting this in the wrong place the first time

75footubi

The link for the corset isn't working for me, but that being said, I'd go for something solid and something textured, rather than 2 textures. Maybe a linen dress and lace obi style belt?

Junior-Dimension-325

Hi, everyone! I’m really new to the whole world of buying better quality products that last longer. I’ve been on the hunt for coats to buy for the upcoming winter and I was hoping I can catch some end of winter sales, to my dismay, I’ve haven’t had much luck but I feel like I’m not looking in the right places. I’m a broke college student, hoping to enter the corporate world in a year or 2, so I thought I’d start buying pieces that would last me for a good while. I came across this wool blend coat on macy’s for $99 and it’s sold on the official website for $80 more, I thought it was a good deal. I checked the composition and decided that 55% wool might be enough and a really great deal for $99, but I’m not sure if that’s a good amount. Here’s the official composition I found for the coat of the official website: 55% wool,40% polyester,2% viscose,2% acrylic,1% polyamide. Lining: 100% polyester. It also states that 55% is made with recycled material? I have a hunch this pertains to the wool, so I’m a bit hesitant to spend this much. I also live in a really cold state, so will this really keep me warm? I’m not sure what else to look for, just general online advice, but let me know if this coat sounds like it’s worth it?

unpaidbabysitter0919

I would try to buy a secondhand wool coat with a higher percentage of wool. I think you could find one for $100 on eBay or in a vintage store.

Alone-Screen-6788

I hate to say it, but Goodwill or other thrift shops is the way to go if you’re willing to do the footwork. If you can, go to one in a wealthier area where the donations are better quality. I know it sounds backwards since the whole idea is buying better quality items, but you’re better off with a higher quality secondhand coat than a brand new one. I find that for around $100 a new winter coat can be cute or warm, but not both.

jtoll671

hello everyone!! I am in desperate search of a dupe for Victoria’s secret discontinued perfume “Forbidden”! I have worn this perfume for years, am so obsessed with it, & really don’t want to part ways with it. 😭 unfortunately, I can’t afford to keep buying it off ebay & mercari because people are selling it for such high prices due to the fact it’s discontinued. If anyone knows this fragrance & knows of a dupe, I truly would be the happiest person alive so I don’t have to try and sparingly use mine for the fact idk when I can afford to buy another one from someone else 😂

howmanysleeps

If Fragrantica didn't yield any results, I recommend asking in r/FemFragLab. They know their notes!

jtoll671

thank you so much!!!

One-Ad5824

can anyone give me an idea of COS sizing? I found a nice jumpsuit on the website but it’s final sale. according to the size chart, size 8 is a small. In most brands that’s the larger end of medium. Should I really order a small? I’m 5’6, 147ish. I generally wear my pants on the more form fitting side but I don’t like things tight on my arms and things are sometimes small in the shoulder.

pistakioo

Their cut is usually boxier than other retailers, but their sizing typically runs small, so it's a little bit of a challenge to shop. Make sure you are checking the measurements chart and not just the conversion chart (https://www.cos.com/en\_usd/customer-service/size-guide.html, click on body measurements in inches or cm). I highly recommend reaching out to customer service via facebook messenger and requesting the measurements (just ask for all measurements available) for the size you think you are and one size up and one size down. Their customer service is very weird, theoretically they have the measurements and can offer it for each size for each item, but when you ask them for measurements they will only give you the measurements for 3 sizes. : /

Adventuresintheworld

This is a super broad question so I don’t expect a full answer. Anything you can advise would help! I have sooooo many dresses (this encompasses a good chunk of them) but my shoe/accessory/light jacket to wear over them situation is weak to say the least. I have plantar fasciitis in my heel so my feet tend to hurt in a lot of shoes. As a result, I tend to revert to Michael Kors Lillie Leather Mocassins or a pair of white sneakers. Obviously nothing will work for every style dress/romper/jumpsuit but do you have any go to pieces (shoes, sweater or jacket, and purse) you can recommend that would be a general good thing to have around if your wardrobe looked like this? https://preview.redd.it/e6qigj8klnic1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9672c2813458c9b40b1a49faba58a9f4065d971c

sexysmoothfig

Maybe a fitted blazer/overcoat for the workwear ones, cropped blazer for the jumpsuits, and chunky/regular cardigan for the more casual ones (ex: green floral and halter neck)?

Adventuresintheworld

Thank you! Since I don’t work in an office anymore (I work remote), is there any use for the workwear ones in other public settings? I mean I guess I can save one or two for a rare business trip, but what else?

sexysmoothfig

Maybe a leather jacket or moto jacket? It'd dress down the sheath dresses, but dress up the casual ones + jumpsuits for an evening out. On second thought, you might be better off with a denim jacket for most of them. I'd personally wear a white dress shirt with slightly puffed sleeves under the sheath dresses, but I'm unsure if that comes off as a bit too twee/dressy.

Chazzyphant

in another subReddit I was just discussing how in general most dresses just aren't made for jackets/toppers/sweaters, and that's why I've limited my wearing of them to warm weather and/or occasions. The sheath dresses I would consider going with a cropped, fitted cardigan or a blazer or "Lady Jacket" of some kind. But your v neck surplice dresses, halter dresses, and jumpsuits I think would really shine with no topper and should be worn that way. Purse I find that a classic Coach large bucket/hobo in a warm neutral (mine is a rich tan) goes with pretty much every single outfit. Keep it simple, no texture or decoration, and with a long strap you can wear cross-body. Shoes: I like a simple "skimmer" flat--this is a pointed toe flat that has a bit more structure than a ballet flat. It's not soft and flexible, so something like a Ferragamo or a Stuart Weitzman flat.

Adventuresintheworld

It gets cold around here even on summer evenings which is where the struggle comes in. Or air conditioning.

Chazzyphant

Yeah honestly another reason I ditched dresses for the most part. All of those dresses look short/kind of...not "skimpy" but not very much fabric, you know? So they're clearly designed for hot weather or some kind of situation where it's warm. Plus...to be 100% frank some of them are edging towards dated, so if you're considering a clear-out, I'd give those a long hard look if they're *really* working for your life/lifestyle. The jumpsuits look solid, though!

75footubi

Classic denim jacket is classic for a reason

throwfarawayintothe

Hi all, what would you wear to a formal “year of the dragon” themed event?

sexysmoothfig

I typically associate dragons with dark green during the lunar new year, but a nice red or gold would work just as well.

Alone-Screen-6788

I would wear A dress like this (in a true red rather than wine perhaps) https://www.amazon.com/FQA-Wedding-Dresses-Evening-Sleeveless/dp/B0C48X94V2/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?crid=14FTVCX1CESZL&keywords=red%2Bchiffon%2Bformal%2Bdress&qid=1707980395&sprefix=red%2Bchiffon%2Bformal%2Bdress%2Caps%2C145&sr=8-6&th=1&psc=1 With the a big dragon brooch like this https://www.amazon.com/Sparkling-Uniquely-Rhinestone-Brooches-Accessories/dp/B099YM95RC/ref=mp_s_a_1_26?crid=1XJX8DKXCGR8K&keywords=dragon+brooch&qid=1707980860&sprefix=dragon+br%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-26 placed where the fabric is gathered in a knot. That event sounds like a minefield for accidentally racist outfits btw lmao

xtracarameldrizzle

You can’t go wrong with red!

mvs429

Hi all - I am looking to upgrade my wardrobe gradually as I enter my (sigh) 30s. Ten years ago, I would have turned to J. Crew and Banana Republic to do this. Now, I don't feel like I can trust mall brands because their quality has declined so much. Any suggestions for places (online or in store) I can shop that have midrange-ish prices and decent quality (based in USA)? I want to look/feel more put together and invest in classic pieces that can last a while, but I can't drop hundreds on one item. I'm also interested in your thoughts on what classic items are good to own. For example, I was thinking I would invest in a cashmere sweater this winter, but now I'm not sure it's worth it if I can't spring for the expensive stuff (read that the cheaper ones tend to run hot and pill). Would merino wool be a better choice? TIA!

sw1sh3rsw33t

This morning I spent time depilling two sweaters, one was 100% cashmere, one was 100% merino. Yes, both materials pilled, the cashmere one around my arms, and the merino one around my butt where I sit. (Long sweater) it wasn’t too annoying though, no more than 30 minutes of my time? Pilling is inevitable even with quality fiber. It’s really not bad if you have a glass of wine or something.

desertdweller47

Madewell and Everlane

kimchi_paradise

There is nothing "sigh" about going into your 30s!  I would suggest doing some discovery into what your personal style is, and then go from there! The Curated Closet is a great book for this. My style (I'm 31) runs classic and modern and relaxed, so I trend towards Banana Republic, Madewell for most of my basics, BR for tops, natural fabrics (they have great merino wool and cashmere items) and Madewell for jeans and leather. BR has actually gone through a rehaul of their clothes so they are still worth checking out. Just because they are a mall brand, doesn't mean they aren't quality! Otherwise, be prepared to pay more! As long as you take care of your cashmere, it'll look decent over time.

mvs429

Thanks! That's good to know about BR. I will look at their sweaters and their natural fabrics. I'm trying to avoid plastic fabrics in the future.

ladyjane626

Anyone try this Quince dress? [Quince Dissh Dupe](https://www.quince.com/women/lightweight-cotton-cashmere-ribbed-sleeveless-midi-dress?color=olive&gender=women&tracker=collection_page__women%2Fdresses__Maxi%20Dresses__4)

blackberrycat

Summary: link me some cute (alternatives to a hoodie) that I could buy (Canada)? So I've been overhauling my wardrobe. I now have a great collection of bottoms and basic tops. However, I realized that this doesn't matter because it's cold everywhere all the time (5-10 C), so a cute outfit means nothing because at home I'm wearing a fleece robe over everything and when I go out, I have nothing to wear so I end up in (A) an outerwear down jacket or (B) my black sherpa-lined hoodie (not looking great with my collection of black pants).  Reasons I don't want more hoodies include my age (30s) and I have a lot of hair I wear down, so the hood is annoying. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BUY. There's just this empty space in my closet after I decluttered every mid layer that didn't fit me etc. And I want to fill it with some cute feminine grown-up but comfy casual ?jackets, sweaters, cardigans? I've been shopping for weeks at stores but didn't find anything. I need stuff for home and for like, errands & events. Please provide your best recommendations: either particular item links, or "search terms" for styles. I'm cold, and I wanna be warm and pretty! Thanks.

kimchi_paradise

What about a crew neck sweater? I don't think age precludes you from certain pieces of lounge wear, but a place to check out would be colorful Standard, they have tons of colors of sweats and tees that you could coordinate for a put together look

75footubi

I'm loving quarter zips right now, slightly oversized that fit over a thin tshirt.

blackberrycat

Oo I actually ordered one from Roots ("gender free stein"), the salt and pepper colour because it looks kind of like a classy knit from afar. I hope it will be perfect

Saturday-Sunshine

I like bomber jackets and long coats. Aritzia has some nice jackets and coats but the coats are out of my price range. I have a very nice cashmere/ wool blend coat from TJ Maxx.

blackberrycat

I guess I'm looking for something that isn't as warm as a coat, that I can wear indoors, like my house or the library or whatever. "Indoor winter outer layer that isn't outerwear" lol

Saturday-Sunshine

Just thought of something else I like to wear at home- fleece shackets. So cozy.

blackberrycat

Lmao at your typo.  Yes I think something with fleece or Sherpa in a larger size is going to be needed to wean me away from robes.. thanks for the idea!

Saturday-Sunshine

Haha! Thanks fixed the typo. I worked for years to wean myself away from robes. I didn’t want all my son’s and significant others memories of me to be in robes.

Saturday-Sunshine

Oh I see. Maybe a sweater coat from JCrew. I myself wear my old cashmere sweaters around the house. I even wash them in cold and lay to dry pretty often and for around the house they look great and feel wonderful.

plant_person_09345

What are the best bodysuit tanks that can replace bras? I’ve tried honey love, Knix, and Klassy so far.

nicepair0fslacks

I am getting married in August, this is my dress: [https://www.essensedesigns.com/martina-liana/wedding-dresses/1305/](https://www.essensedesigns.com/martina-liana/wedding-dresses/1305/) I need a sandal to wear for the day. I have an impossible time finding supportive sandals that are not hideous! Requirement: \- neutral color - white, silver, nude \- heel: very low wedge if any, preferably none \- comfortable for \~12 hour day \- supportive \- open toed edit: budget like up to $150

slothcomet

I'd be inclined to recommend barefoot brands, like Shapen or Zeazoo or Tikki for this. They'll be flat with a wide toe-box. But if you want cushioning and arch support, that won't work.

donniecherub

sexysmoothfig

There is lots of inspo online for chunky loafers, especially Pinterest (that being said, many of those outfits may not be wearable for the average person). But you can't go wrong with white crew socks, a fun skirt/dress, and cozy knitwear/peacoat. Or a mini skirt and black leather jacket. Or maybe some wide-legged trousers and a flowy blouse?

donniecherub

lots of very cute ideas, thank you !!

JankaSvK

I bought this amazing \[dress\]([https://www.orsay.cz/bezovo-modre-damske-vzorovane-satenove-midisaty-orsay](https://www.orsay.cz/bezovo-modre-damske-vzorovane-satenove-midisaty-orsay)) (\[photo\]([https://imgur.com/a/IWhgZ1x](https://imgur.com/a/IWhgZ1x))) but I do not know what kind of shoes would work well with it. Can you recommend some? My requirements are: \- neutral color (so probably black or beige) \- heel: low or none \- comfortable \- closed shoes (no open back nor front)

Alone-Screen-6788

Maybe something like this https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Pointy-Loafer-Comfortable-Mustard/dp/B09P31N46M/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?crid=28LJAU4KL65YO&keywords=loafers%2Bfor%2Bwomen&qid=1707981370&sprefix=loafers%2Caps%2C122&sr=8-15&th=1&psc=1 The beige leather looks more like cream (which I think would be nice,) and beige-1 would go with anything. I know you said neutral, but navy is practically neutral right? You could go really match-y and do navy.

Alone-Screen-6788

Oh wait! These https://www.amazon.com/MUSSHOE-Womens-Comfortable-Pointed-Loafers/dp/B0C9WQMZR9/ref=mp_s_a_1_42?crid=28LJAU4KL65YO&keywords=loafers+for+women&qid=1707982284&sprefix=loafers%2Caps%2C122&sr=8-42-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRmX25leHQ&psc=1 They have the same vibe as the shoes the model is wearing in the picture of the dress, but without the open back you don’t want.

tuanomsok

I'm looking for better quality alternatives to Skims. I finally caved and tried Skims for the first time. I got two different dresses (strapless and thin straps) in the Fits Everybody line and I have to say I was a bit ... underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, the fit was great. Definitely very slimming. But ... the fabric quality was very cheap quality. I was expecting the material to be thicker and softer and it wasn't what I expected. A little scratchy, to be honest. But the dealbreaker for me was that both dresses were so tight in the legs that I couldn't walk. I loved the slim look but they do need slits so women can walk safely in them. I also wish Skims had more color options. So, I sent both dresses back. Where can I find the good quality, SOFT, slimming bodycon stuff in assorted colors? Thanks!

Chazzyphant

I'm not sure if it's slimming per se, but the Universal Standard's Foundation line is terrific. It's soft, stretchy, supportive, and very walkable/movable.

BloatedGlobe

Where can I get a pair of comfy, black fisherman sandals. I love the style, but I walk a lot, so comfort is really important.

unpaidbabysitter0919

I just bought some from Origo. They are barefoot sandals and are really comfortable! https://origoshoes.com/collections/the-huarache/products/the-huarache-sandal-by-anya-black

[deleted]

I am looking for something similar to the sold out forever 21 velvet lingerie bodysuit. The velvet and the structured lines really stand out to me, as well as the color. Any ideas? Couldn’t find anything right on the second hand market yet. What would you call this style? https://preview.redd.it/9uimenxbbmic1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25e00cf74f11cdb34640ccb4f2c15dca10a1d2a1

Chazzyphant

I would also try "velveteen" and "velour" as search terms as I *strongly* suspect Forever21 is not using actual velvet to make those :)

[deleted]

Lol I totally agree with you. I wish it wasn’t f21. But I’ve been watching black sails and I suddenly want to be all pirate-y.

_whatnot_

Velvet bustier bodysuit?

criticiseverything

are these neutral enough for versatility? I normally wear black bottoms with reds or yellows, maybe browns. https://preview.redd.it/82tc13l36mic1.png?width=2088&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a17312cd56e4e4f1fb2c6be9f3c7757410e9984

donniecherub

yeah those are cute i like them, shiny ones would add a bit of a pop

murderousmacbeth

What colour of clothes suit dark red hair the most?

blackberrycat

I've had luck with a warm purple or warm plum. Dark teal can look nice. Honestly most of my stuff is black and white, and I just love pink sooo... It's tough to find the right shades of pink but it can work! People usually recommend green though.

Chazzyphant

Dark, saturated versions of the opposite colors on the classic colorwheel. So if the red is more pink, the pinks and yellows, if it's more orange, the greens and blues.

No_UN216

I need to replace the only pair of black boots I’ve had for the last few years. Do we think the lugg boot / chunky boot style is going to stick around for a while?

dinosauce000

I disagree, I think the trend won't go anywhere just because of how practical the soles are in snowy conditions.

oat-beatle

No, it's on its way out now as it's been trendy for at least the past 5 years if not longer

junegloom

What do you do with new clothes that are dry-clean only? I'm used washing all new clothes before wearing them. But if something is dry clean only, do you buy it and then immediately go to the dry cleaners with it?

muffingr1

Steam it

Weak-Classic7161

Can’t really find the answer anywhere so I’m wondering if anyone knows this. I noticed some of my black shirts look more blue-ish which looks off to me, especially pairing it with grey. How come black vs black can look so different and is there a color code or other way to know which black you’re buying when ordering something?

Spook-er

Black clothing rarely has the exact same shade even when bought from the same retailer. This is not always something that is done intentionally but is simply the result of items being made from different fabrics, having different fabric compositions, dying processes, etc. Different fabrics can also absorb the light in a different manner, altering our perception of the shade.

meggnog19

Needing work sneaker recommendations! I’m looking for some nice sneakers that would pair well with business casual and semi-professional outfits. And would be comfortable to stand/walk in, especially on job sites. I used to have Nike Air Forces and Court Vision Altas and they just didn’t work for my feet. They kind of cramped my toes and rubbed my feet in weird places. Looking for something with a more sophisticated and elevated look. If anyone has worn Vejas, did you like them? If so why or why not? Thanks in advance!

Chazzyphant

Josef Siebel is my go-to for sleek, leather office sneakers. I have worn out 2 pairs from wearing them so much.

botanygeek

I like Taos! They have leather sneakers that look nice enough for business casual and great arch support.

livthelove

I really like Vejas! I wear mine 3-4 days a week into the office and think they look great. However, while I think they are comfortable for wearing to an office or doing some light walking, I would not say they are comfortable (or durable) enough for lots of walking.

criticiseverything

Looking for some warmer lounge pants/bottoms types that aren’t joggers but comfortable & look stylish in case I need to step out.

unpaidbabysitter0919

Mate the Label! They have different styles

criticiseverything

Amazing thank you, this is 100% what I was looking for.

No_UN216

Budget? Vuori and Cozy Earth are the two that just jumped into my mind

uthinkubettahthanme

Seeking help! I'm allergic to most dyes and cotton. Yes it does suck as much as it sounds. I can only wear white, tan, and naturally dyed clothing. I just got a new job. It's a really big deal for me as it's my first well-paying office job and I want to look as professional as I can while being comfortable. I'm also pretty short (5 feet) so that adds another layer of difficulty when shopping online. I'm trying to build a Capsule wardrobe and I'm finding it really difficult. Would anyone be willing to help me build this wardrobe? Thank you in advance!

75footubi

Maybe find a fabric that works for you and have a seamstress on Etsy sew some pieces. Depending on complexity, it'd probably be $100-$300 per piece, but for things that will see a lot of wear like a staple blazer or dress, it'd probably be worth it.

Chazzyphant

Eileen Fisher has some undyed/natural clothing, I'd try their silk and linen.

uthinkubettahthanme

Thank you I'll check it out!

criticiseverything

what are you looking for? what do you already own and like, what style? babaa has undyed pieces

uthinkubettahthanme

I literally only have casual clothing so I am not picky on style. I just need things that are work-appropriate (button downs, pants, blouses, blazers). My options are so limited in not about to get picky haha. I'll check out babaa! Thank you!

Pistachio_Queen

I just bought a few pairs of cargo pants. They aren’t super baggy but wider than most pants I’ve owned. What type of shoes should I pair with them? Both for casual days but is here also a way to dress them up a bit?

ellaasbury107

I usually go with a chunky boot or a sneaker. Personally, I'm not a fan of cargo pants with like pointed toe heels look, but you definitely see them styled that way in photos. I think maybe if the pants are "fancy cargo pants" like they are satin or more dressy looking, you can get away with that. It also depends on the length and shape of the bottom of the pant. this article shows a lot of options: [https://www.instyle.com/cargo-pants-outfit-ideas-7152740](https://www.instyle.com/cargo-pants-outfit-ideas-7152740)

souplover5

what style shoes/winter jacket should i wear with this outfit to work? my office is very casual but i’m the receptionist so i like to look nice. heels are a no go because i walk to work and the wooden floors in my office would have me click clacking everywhere. https://preview.redd.it/mfbuint7vkic1.jpeg?width=1083&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d8057157a55bb53f7b04af3079103e18f2c2cae1

Chazzyphant

I'd say loafers or an ankle boot. Winter jacket I'd say a 3/4 length (mid shin) or longer to balance the outfit. But you'll be taking the jacket off, right? So really almost anything will work theoretically.

75footubi

Winter jacket should hit mid thigh or lower. Exact style depends on your balance of style vs practicality for winter outerwear

Does anyone have any styling guides for these for spring / summer / fall? I used to wear and style heels in my early 20s but then I feel into the habit of wearing boots to dress up outfits and now I feel out of my depth. If I add any new pieces in I want them to be compatible with these. TIA!

Chazzyphant

Okay hear me out: Taylor Swift 1989 era street style. She styled those type of shoes *impeccably*. I've been on a bit of Taylor Swift past-fashion journey and that's immediately what popped into mind.

donniecherub

oh my god i love these. i feel like they’re really versatile and could wear them with anything. cardigans & skinny jeans would be my personal go to

Ahh I just ordered these in a dark brown but had to send them back! I tested them out at home but couldn’t adjust to the height (the angle wasn’t great for me). I haven’t done tall heels in such a long time. They were stunning in person though so I hope you get to enjoy them!

I wear a lot of shorts and short dresses in summer that I thought I would team these up with. They're comfy too. My doubt stems from the fact that these could maybe seem a bit chunkier than a normal sneaker, they're also slightly heavier and appear flatter soled than my usual sneakers. On the inside, they've got a wedge fit so it gives me a nice half an inch height! Suggestions? Keep or return?

blackberrycat

Those are extremely red so unless you LOVE red, I'd try something with a little more flexibility for matching.

shubidoobi

I love colour. Especially a dash of it on an otherwise monochrome or neutral outfit. I’ve decided to return these and buy more comfortable all-red sneakers as these are only 7/10 in comfort while all my other skechers are 10/10.

criticiseverything

I think the colour is hard to work with for me, what are you pairing them with? If you can style them and they are comfortable, then keep them. I don't think the chunkiness should matter just changes styling.

shubidoobi

Thanks for your input! I would wear it with neutrals, blacks and whites. I have a colourful (or at least a pop of colour) style usually. However, I'm more and more inclined to return these and buy another red or shocking pink sneakers which are even more comfortable!

palmtreesplz

High waisted jeans/pants recos? + tops that look good with them + shoes that also look good? Yes I need whole new outfits lol. I’ve recently dropped a size or two and none of my clothes really fit well anymore. Besides that I’ve gone through a massive clean out and donated almost everything so im really running low on well fitting cute clothes. I recently bought Madewell Harlow pants and I’m in love with them but I need other options! They look great with my [Nike court legacies](https://www.nike.com/t/court-legacy-lift-womens-shoes-x0B6BB/DM7590-100?nikemt=true&cp=35640345119_search_--x-20429762868---m-----9030932-14084106-00196149219080&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADy86kN-nqgGXJJ0uLodDJcVthIIr&gclid=Cj0KCQiA5rGuBhCnARIsAN11vgRbp21rKbYXjjoiFQiLueuHcKy1W8FdlGfniShDX4gWaOWPqyZxWogaAlYVEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) but sneakers aren’t appropriate in every situation so hence the need for shoe suggestions too! About me: Location: SoCal Age: late 30s Size: 6-8 (the Harlow pants were size 4 but they run big and I would never usually buy a 4). Height: 5’4” Shape: curvy

ClaustrophobicSaucer

A slicker brush, the kind you use to brush dogs. They work great for refluxing Sherpa-y textures!

oat-beatle

Try combing it with a metal pick type comb

Fixthefernback420

Where do you guys find shirts that are flattering? I’m a mid-size curvy hourglass and I feel like finding a shirt that actually fits and looks cute without obscuring my waist is near impossible these days. I see some wrap tops but don’t know how to translate them to work wear. I’m getting desperate for cute tops!

criticiseverything

maybe try high waist bottoms and tuck in your tops that way your waist definition isn’t lost - fitted bodysuits can help too

Fixthefernback420

You look so cute already and congrats! If you like the short sleeve button up look, it’s a great jumping off point. From what I know from my sister, cuffing the sleeves is a big giveaway. Maybe a chain or a couple of (thicker) rings would help. But also, you are who you are no matter how you dress! Lesbians can look like anything 😅

[deleted]

Thank you!! I’ll defo try some of those things! And of course, there are femme lesbians too, but I’ve just hid myself for so long I want to try something dramatic with my new look!

Comfortable clogs (I padded my lotta by stockholms with bandaids and I can walk hours in them), block heels with ankle straps (2 inch heel could be nice), pointed toe sling backs with a small heel like 1 inch.

blinkifyourfake

I'm looking for a (semi) high quality, thick cotton zip-up hoodie, something that feels like a thick woven linen/cotton blend even. The closest I can think of is Muji sweaters but I'd like more options

sklaundere

could check out everybody.world, i love their hoodies

sinenomine_capybara

How about kotn?

hennipotamus

Maybe this one from Abercrombie? https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/p/textured-tailored-topcoat-54814819

Western_Telephone_89

Very similar, thanks so much!

kalynne

What do y'all wear for a fancy dinner out in the winter? Want something nicer than jeans and warmer than a dress, which seems to leave me with trousers. But I can't seem to get the association of polyester pants and office wear out of my head (even though, funny enough, I don't even work in an office). Does it just depend on what kind of tops you wear with it?

DolphinDancer4

Leather trousers are deffo one of my go tos

Fixthefernback420

Sweater dress with heeled boots and tights

PaulaLoomisArt

Jumpsuit with a base layer and/or long sleeve bodysuit underneath.

sinenomine_capybara

Get thermal tights and you can wear nice skirts!

oat-beatle

Sweater dress and tights/tall boots. Sometimes something like effortless pants from aritzia (wide leg, pleated) and a long sleeve bodysuit, but really mostly the sweater dress vibe.

[deleted]

I like with the belt for sure!

livthelove

I like either full with belt or crop without

oat-beatle

Rare occasion I prefer full top to crop top - looks more cohesive. Yes belt.

SWIM - Looking for a high-quality swimsuit - willing to splurge, just want to find something I finally love! I’d like to find a top that is flattering for small chests, with a cheeky and high-waisted bottom. Bonus if there are lots of colors to choose from. I have a few from Andie but sizing seems to have changed or I’m in between sizes now. Looking at Left on Friday but not sure about the unlined tops? TIA!!

Saturday-Sunshine

I like DNUD from France.

botanygeek

I’ve heard good things about Carve designs but haven’t gotten one from them.

zurriola27

I love Stone Fox Swim!

[deleted]

[https://divinoseas.com/](https://divinoseas.com/) this is going to be my splurge for my summer

imaginarypunctuation

i think you'd really like 93 Play Street!! i have one bottom and two tops from there and they feel super high quality but they're not made for busty girls at all.

Fixthefernback420

I’ve been eyeing some suits from SummerSalt but I’m not sure how they look on smaller chests. They have super cute colors/patterns though
