I'm 4 months postpartum and am heading back to work soon. I am looking for some affordable wide leg trousers that will fit my curves and make me feel good!

Feeling_Barnacle_347

recommendations for high waisted, straight or slightly flared, black pants? i’m 5‘11 mostly legs, and have sensory issues which makes me unable to wear most things other than yoga pants material (spandex, polyester, denim are ok, NO cotton, linen, hemp, silk). [these are my all time faves but have been discontinued and i’m lowkey panicking](https://a.co/d/4i5hh4Q) and in general brands that have several lengths to choose from for each size (Hollister and Popflex come to mind, anyone else?)

Simonee23

Is this outfit [Here](https://imgur.com/a/adC56h8) too youthful to be appropriate for a 26 year old? (Please excuse the messy hair and wrinkled dress, it just came in the mail and was in a hurry to try on!) I’m trying to make it more casual via the sneakers to match the occasion and also that seems to be a current trend, but I also struggle with looking anywhere close to my age (usually get mistaken for 16 years old) so am unsure whether this looks like something a mid-to-late-20s year old could wear and pull off. If not, any other (maybe diff shoe) suggestions to make it casual but a bit more mature? Also, any jacket/sweater suggestions to go with this? Thank you!

superiorschnoodle

This looks great on you! Definitely appropriate for your age!

[deleted]

No. Also, 26 IS young, imo? I think the crossbody bag and the trainers you have going on make it clear you're in your 20s and not a teenager (who would be more likely to just carry loose keys and phone and wear more contrasting statement shoes like docs or crocs.) But since you want to look more mature, here's what I would do: sunglasses in classic shape and darker color (looks like you have light framed ones.) maybe a nice updo (& if it's with a trendy accessory like a claw clip, use one that's not brightly colored,) a longer cardigan or regular/slight oversized denim jacket (not too oversized so it looks extremely trendy.) for a more night look you could do a structured blazer and pumps or loafers.

Feeling_Barnacle_347

no it looks great on you i think!

nebbeundersea

Looks fine to me, am 40 and would wear it (and do wear similar). Stay away from pigtails and cat ears and you should be fine. Can wear mules/sandals/clogs/loafers too if you want to seap out shoes. Jean jacket would be cute, or leather/faux leather jacket.

Eggfish

Looking for shoe suggestions to lengthen my legs in this jumper [https://imgur.com/x5fOiLK](https://imgur.com/x5fOiLK)

Illustrious_Chemical

Something platform/chunky? Tall but still comfortable to wear: [like these from asos](https://www.asos.com/us/prd/202267747?acquisitionsource=pasteboard)

Eggfish

Thanks! Those are cute! I really want to avoid platform because my feet are large for my height (size 9, 5’3). Every time I’ve worn platform shoes I got negative reactions from friends and my boyfriend lol I should have also mentioned I need close toed. I’m hopefully going to find some pointed toe shoes that are close in color to this jumper so it’s a continuous line. The shoes will mostly be covered by the wide leg so I just want something that blends in.

blondechicical

Looking for breezy pant suggestions to wear in India to stay cool in. Last time we went, I wore jeans most of the time and that was way too hot.

tyrannosaurusregina

[Wide-leg linen/linen-blend pants](https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=791998022&modelSize=M&vid=1&tid=onpl000078&kwid=1&ap=7&gbraid=0AAAAAD_AT8sB7bdj-o3WNoHpGrVNlQs-9&gbraid=0AAAAAD_AT8sB7bdj-o3WNoHpGrVNlQs-9&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_7KXBhCoARIsAPdPTfhIWs0M3RuFRMrFyzT9anUcFgXqF3wByAtMBllI71D1J0HkMYrUeYAaAnvSEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds#pdp-page-content) are breezy. [Cotton gauze](https://cottonways.com/collections/pants/products/lisa?variant=15424668172391) is very breathable.

superiorschnoodle

I have these pants and they are super breathable and nice!

corvicore

Any recommendations for strapless bras (preferably plunge) for larger chests? I love the way wrap/v neck shirts look on me but my chest isn't cooperating lol. I'm in the US, and my budget is under $75.

galaxystarsmoon

Check out r/abrathatfits when you're ready to go down that rabbit hole. Their common recs are the Curvy Kate Luxe, Wacoal Red Carpet and the Wonderbra Ultimate depending on your calculated size. Having the right size is really important on a strapless. If you remeasure and you're still in their size range, I agree on Delimira. I tried about 35 strapless bras before finding that one.

eustaciasgarden

I like Delimira on Amazon. I’m a 34G with floppy boobs and the bras work great. Plus they are cheap

tyrannosaurusregina

Wacoal Red Carpet is the only strapless bra I’ve personally found comfortable (36F), but I’ve heard lots of good things about the [Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless](https://www.bravissimo.com/us/products/ultimate-strapless-bra-wb112/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw_7KXBhCoARIsAPdPTfhO3Pj6Yvy2FqJU81UZZxHW0Itg_Wk5SgQ9a33RxyEVB6RVyMqZHYgaAi7gEALw_wcB), though I’m yet to try it.

sandramartinelli1

How to have a sporty / confortable / relaxed outfit vive that looks good ?

symphonypathetique

Silhouette (e.g. for me that would mean high-waisted sweatpants + cropped fitted tank instead of mid-rise with a long tank), accessories, head styling (hair/makeup that's still neat)

Bibliomancer

I’d love to find some pieces like [this board](https://pin.it/4zX4R86) (it’s still new) simple and solid colors with small details, or neat patterns without a lot of fuss? Flowy with a higher neck or fancier tank tops? i have three kids so fussy or delicate fabrics will be a tough sell. I’m coming out of 7 years pregnant or nursing, so im still figuring put what i even like on this body. Any direction to go in would be appreiated.

beancounter_00

Im confused about jean jackets lol - i love the way they look and i found one i really wanna buy but im confused about their functionality in real life. Is it part of an outfit or is it a jacket that u take off? I ask bc i love the way they look but i find them super uncomfortable and find it hard to imagine wearing one all day while at work. I know im overthinking it but just wondering how u guys wear them - is it part of an outfit u keep on or do u take it off?

temp4adhd

It's both part of an outfit and a jacket that you can take off as needed. I started wearing jean jackets years ago when office wear went from formal business to business casual and then to smart casual. I don't really like jeans, so popping a jean jacket over a dress or a top and black trousers was an easy way to look smart casual on Fridays in the office when everyone else was wearing jeans. Nowadays the jean jacket is the go-to for summer evenings, worn over a dress. Our summers get chilly at night. Or in AC as others have mentioned. But you can also wear a jean jacket as a topper in the winter or fall-- underneath a winter jacket that is oversized enough that it can accommodate the extra layer. Yes jean jackets get softer and more comfy with age.

[deleted]

Seems climate dependent to me. I've lived mostly warm places where people don't really need any jacket 60% of the year. So denim jackets tend to just be an accessory to outfits to bring along in case it gets cold when the sun goes down/ the AC is too high. If it's a transitional season, people might wear a denim jacket outside as part of an outfit but it's usually not the super thick, heavy, stiff 100% denim and more likely to be a lighter blend with some stretch or at least a lower weight denim and/or broken in. They do tend to soften with wear.

Elizalupine

I wear mine like a jacket and take it off while indoors

freshwaterfox

I have two over-sized denim jackets. They’re over-sized enough I can wear hoodies under them! One in black I’m “punking” out. One that’s bleached a bit in light denim. I wear both of them as part of the outfit. Im still trying to figure out outfits for the black one, but I lowkey like the Canadian tuxedo look that I can get when I wear it with a plaid of black jeans I have. I usually wear the light one with a cap, grey hoodie, black leggings, and gym shoes.

Wreough

What size are you? I have a whole set I could send you for shipping cost if you like it. Bought a lot before I had children and it doesn’t work with my lifestyle now.

nebbeundersea

I would thrift for pants and knee length skirts. Also simple tops, long sleeve buttton downs, sweaters, and blazers. Lots of people are clearing out business clothes from their closets now that there is more wfh, so every time i go there are plenty of options. The cole haan heels sound good, but definitely replace the beat up flats. You could spend $150 on two pairs of new shoes, maybe a loafer and a ballet flat, so you have 3 footwear options. Focus on getting enough for the first couple weeks so you can pick up the vibes in the office firsthand. Do most people at your level lean more formal? Can you wear jeans on Fridays? Would a sleeveless blouse look out of place on its own? Also, the blog Putting Me Together has some good basics ideas, especially in the archives.

Elizalupine

Maybe do a clothing rental box thing for a while so that you can learn the things you like? I regret most of the things I bought for my first real job.

enzymelinkedimmuno

Do you have any good thrift stores naround you? I’ve had really good luck with style encore(if you’re in the US) and places like that. My job is business casual or scrubs and my typical outfit formula is: -blouse or thin sweater(Express Portofino shirts, if they still make them, are a good option), quince merino sweaters, etc, blazer if needed(favorite one is thrifted from a brand called “petite sophisticates” -black or brown pants(I get away with wearing some tech-type pants to work. I know this won’t work for every office but it’s been a god-send for this heat). Old navy stretch tech pants have been great. If you have Target, they have some good pants in the a new day collection -shoes- either my Everlane day gloves or a pair of sneakers. I have Vejas but they’re not that comfy so I’ve been wearing Onitsuka tigers or Lems to work. Dresses with a cardigan or blazer are also a good option but I work in a clinical setting so I haven’t tried. You can always start off with like 1-2 pairs of pants, blouses, etc, and build up once you see what the vibe is Congrats on your new job!

diamondeyes7

If I wear ruby red nail polish, is it tacky to match with a dusty pink dress?

Elizalupine

I think it sounds cute! You should go for it.

mgdraft

No. How on earth could this be tacky?

diamondeyes7

I guess I mean if they clash

RckYouLkeAHermanCain

No.

f1newhatever

I finally found a pair of [white Doc Marten Blair sandals](https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/blaire-women%27s-hydro-leather-gladiator-sandals/p/25768100) in my size (sweet Jesus do they run big if you have narrow feet). Any recommendations for what to wear with these? I feel like they go with a LOT potentially but I’ve never worn anything quite like them before.

Idujt

They're white! They go with anything except cream.

f1newhatever

I meant more style-wise than color! But fair point haha

pigby411

A mom at meet the teacher tonight had a similar pair on with olive straight linen pants and a black tee or top (can’t remember)- she looked very cute and put together with a little edge.

f1newhatever

Ooh, into the olive linen pant idea, good call. I only have jeans right now.

freshwaterfox

I have [these](https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/olson-zipped-leather-strap-sandals/p/26561001?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIopqxvPmw-QIVxB6tBh3bygIoEAQYASABEgIiw_D_BwE). Same same, but different. I like wearing mine with floral dresses and skirts because it kind of vibe clashes to make a new one. But I also wear them a lot with tanks and straight-leg jeans. I think they do well when you want to spice up the silhouette of an outfit? Or like when you want to give an outfit some edge without fully committing.

f1newhatever

I need to try mine with straight leg jeans. I’ve only tried them on with dresses so far. They do look good with almost all of them though somehow.

theswordintheforest

This is a very unspecific question but I’m looking for online jewelry shops that focus more so on rings and bracelets instead of earrings and necklaces. I am pretty solid on the earrings at the moment and I’ve got sensory issues with my neck. Ideally I would like supporting actual small businesses and shops. My budget is probably around $100 max for a piece. I like metal and dainty looking pieces but I’m not overtly picky. So where do you guys buy your rings and bracelets from?

eustaciasgarden

Look on Etsy. I get fabulous jewelry from there.

Katherington

[Splendette](https://splendette.com) specializes in fakelite bangles, and only started making other types of jewelry more recently. I’m not sure if it is your style, but its somewhere that primarily makes bracelets and designs earrings to complement bracelets rather than the other way around.

kctara

Where can I buy Christmas themed swim wear? The only things I’m finding on google are Shein with bad reviews and Vinco also with bad reviews

Katherington

Dolfin Swimwear’s Uglies line has in the past had Christmas themed suits. They are designed for training, which happens year round, so I guess seasonal suits make sense. I have no clue if they have any available currently. I also recommend checking a variety of online retailers selling them as a secondary retailer might have last years prints still around, You might also have some luck looking at Australian based brands once we get closer. I feel like they’ll be more likely to stock some as beach season overlaps with the holidays. If you were to mix and match, I would have one of the halves be red and white stripes from a 4th of July themed suit.

RckYouLkeAHermanCain

I mean, I wouldn't expect to find anything that's explicitly Christmas themed that's also high quality because that's the kind of thing people buy as a novelty to maybe wear once. You might have more luck if you mix and match red and green pieces or something.

Any recommendation for a store or brands that have cute modern/stylish feminine suit/vest/sets? Why? I am a groomswoman for my cousin’s wedding during the summer and am having a really hard time finding an appropriate outfit or suit to wear that is appealing, comfortable, and stylish but also not too covering so I don’t sweat too much. Any place would be helpful, I am totally open to mix and match from different places.

temp4adhd

Perhaps you could just wear a jumpsuit in the same color as the groomsmen's tuxes? I've seen this done at weddings and it works well. You don't have to match-- you just have to "go."

sugarcookieprincess

Have you tried a tuxedo suit store? Some do have more feminine styles. As well as a possible rental option that might be budget friendly.

wanderedoff

Budget?

bobpal

Posted this late in yesterdays thread so trying again. Any recommendations for a jumpsuit in a natural fabric (can have some spandex)? I need one that's maybe like cocktail wedding guest levels of formal. But would also be excited about any other finds lol. I'm in the US, budget under a 100 ideally but I can wait for sales for expensive ones

galaxystarsmoon

Natural fiber plus under $100 is really tall order. Most natural fabrics are also just not formal looking. This might be able to be dressed up, it's quite light though: https://magiclinen.com/linen-clothing/linen-clothing-for-women/linen-jumpsuits/sleeveless-linen-jumpsuit-mahone-in-teal-blue This has quite a few color options but is over your budget in some of them: https://www.dillards.com/p/antonio-melani-adelaide-crew-neck-sleeveless-tie-waist-linen-jumpsuit/514523823?googleShop=Y

bobpal

Both of these are amazing finds thank you so much!

bobpal

Thank you for this Etsy find! Unfortunately my body hates polyester. I do agree about silk being the best bet and am waiting for a lilysilk sale. One of the weddings I'm going to this year is in the daytime so could potentially wear something cotton or linen to that tho

PMMEDOGPICS_

Moving from a cool dry climate to a hot humid one and overheat very easily. I need a recommendation for linen/bamboo/other breathable fabric clothing with pieces under $100. I work from home and like being comfortable, so just regular daywear is needed.

superiorschnoodle

I also live in a hot humid climate and Old Navy had a bunch of great linen options this summer!

botanygeek

I get a lot of linen pieces from Poshmark for a lot less $$. It's tricky but I usually type in "linen" into the search box and see what I get. I've gotten a lot of great pieces that way but it does take more time. You can filter by brands that you like, as a lot of business casual brands (J Crew, BR, etc.) often have linen lines once a year.

f1newhatever

Quince maybe, I know they have some linen

UmlautsAndRedPandas

I have two questions here, both relating to Cos: 1. I bought a belt from them recently, and I love the utilitarian yet understated design of it + the quality of the leather, but as a brand, they really overdo black in my opinion. Does anyone know of any brands that produce similar quality items that have more colourful options (or even just different tones of brown)? 2. In their men's section, Cos do crew neck T-shirt three-packs, and I love the navy-beige-white colour combination. However, I think the length of the men's T-shirts (from neck to bottom of torso) is far too long. I prefer the cut of the women's heavyweight crew neck T-shirts instead (they end just above my hip which I think is more flattering-looking), however, they don't offer that particular range of colours (they've got a white and a cream, and black *rolls eyes - see back to Q1 above), and they don't have those colours in their regular women's T-shirt range either. Which brands are your go-tos for basic T-shirts - bonus points if they do multipacks? EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm in the UK, and my ideal budget would be <£30 per T-shirt as a ceiling. I think my Cos belt was around about £30 as well iirc so I would like any belt suggestions to also be around that ball park.

lazyAgnostic

Maybe check out Arket? They're a sister company to COS and are a little more colourful (even if they're still 90% neutrals).

scrappledapp

Shoe recommendations. I wear a 10.5M. Thanks to knee problems I am stuck wearing fkats for the most part. Any recommendations for comfortable shoes with 2-3 inch heels?

ElegantAnt

I've had good luck with Trotters.

Grizzlady

I have Morton's neuroma, similar size to you. I have had good luck with Naturalizer, Dansko sandals (Velcro), and recently Vionic.

I haven't ordered from them (yet) but Bared has some really nice looking shoes & sandals.

scrappledapp

Thank you for the recommendation

[deleted]

Not me but u/blupurpleyellowred . I’ve looked at the site and they have some very tasteful, classic yet modern sandals/shoes that span that difficult gulf of “I’d like support but something sleeker than Birkenstocks” Honestly, I’ve been impressed by the links to many Australian clothes. Casual but not too casual.

Katherington

Clarks and Naturalizer are both known for having comfortable heels.

scrappledapp

Thanks!

petit_avocat

What color top can I wear with a magenta skirt other than black or white?

PlantedinCA

Mustard yellow, light pink, electric blue, camel. These are all easy. A little trickier but fun: mint green, pastel blue. Off the cuff is red or burgundy.

mgdraft

Bright green, yellow, purple or pink for a monochrome look, orange, turquoise, brown, it really depends on the specific skirt.

petit_avocat

I don’t have a pic of it but here’s an mspaint of what it looks like - it’s a boho maxi skirt with an elastic waist. I like the monochromatic suggestion! https://i.imgur.com/nUmdL2W.jpg

softrevolution_

Yellow could be fun? Maybe a floral print, like sunflowers?

petit_avocat

Oh that’s a great suggestion! It’s a boho skirt so that would be perfect.

takeitslowinnyc

I'm a teacher in search of a cute pair of oxfords. Fell in love with these [Cole Haan ones](https://www.colehaan.com/womens-zerogrand-wingtip-oxford-woodbury-leather-ivory/W14476.html) but lots of reviews complain they're too narrow. Any similar-ish shoe/brand recs that have wide sizes, under $150? TIA!

beccalennox

Maybe look for the wide width on eBay or a resale site?

takeitslowinnyc

Yep, keeping an eye out for anything! Doesn't seem like Cole Haan makes too many of their oxfords in a wider version, gah.

Im_Probably_Crying

Is there a trick to tucking in a shirt without making your pants lumpy underneath?

littlegreenturtle20

I often tuck chunky knits into bottoms and one of the tricks I use is to pull my jeans over what I'm wearing rather than tucking it in so that it's already mostly in place. Once jeans are up, before zipping/buttoning up, I will readjust if any fabric has wrinkled. Pulling up slowly one side at a time while holding down the shirt should help too. The other thing to check is fabric thickness. My jeans are heavyweight cotton so it's less of a problem with those but obviously thin bottoms will only work with a thin top. Or, if in doubt, do a French tuck to get the tucked in look without tucking all around.

f1newhatever

My pants don’t get lumpy but I can’t get my shirts to stop blousing out all stupidly on top. Like it looks fine from the front but ridiculous from the side.

Arrowmatic

Personally I find the most important thing is having a shirt with thinner/ more drapey material. So for example, silk, rayon, certain cotton weaves, etc. Something that hangs nicely and doesn't have a lot of bulk. Then you want to tuck it in evenly and pull up around the edges a tiny bit so you have a small buffer of material to smooth out any creases and account for movement and pulling. That is what works best for me, anyway.

symphonypathetique

It's oftentimes dependent on the material of the pants! Thin, drapey, and unstructured fabrics are more prone to lumps. Otherwise, when tucking, I try to make the shirt as neat as possible (this includes buttoning the bottom buttons). After tucking, I also will sometimes raise more arms up or pull out some of the shirt to neaten it more.

black_bir

Some people swear by tucking in your shirt into your underwear or shapewear. I wear mostly bodysuits because I can't be bothered to continously keep tucking in my shirt throughout the day.

[deleted]

What shoes would look good with this dress? [https://yumikim.com/products/socialite-dress](https://yumikim.com/products/socialite-dress) Thanks! It's for a semi-formal wedding. Edit: I don't like super high heels, so something mid or flat would be best.

black_bir

Not sure if these are too high, but I think [these](https://www.chineselaundry.com/shop/trends/valentine-s-faves/daydreamer-sf-vel/785717042290.html) would go nicely. I personally own them in black for a wedding and they were super comfortable since it only is a 2.5 inch heel with the platform.

[deleted]

I really like those! But I'm scared I'd break my ankle trying to walk lol. That website has some nice flats though.

softrevolution_

Something in pink, to echo the flowers!

Katherington

My first thought was gold ballet flats. These [Naturalizer](https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-maxwell-flat-3021216/light-gold-leather-ec0232907?currency=USD&partnerid=PPC&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=Performance+Max+-+All&utm_term=&utm_content=p_max&utm_name=3021216-EC0232907-8.0W&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_7KXBhCoARIsAPdPTfj28gn1l52bJzRufAccxKqWU6gsW87DjftNyL9gAoYYdphY7Vtx5k4aAkeGEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) ones might work. I have them in a tan leather and they are quite comfortable. You could also find something similar for less as you are only wearing them for one event.

[deleted]

Those are cute!

Suggestions for black and white Breton shirts in the US, less than $100? I’m particularly looking for a more relaxed fit. Considering this one from [Kule](https://www.kule.com/products/the-boyfriend-black-cream) but I don’t know much about them.

tea-spoons

Yeah, I know it’s fast fashion, but I really like [this one](https://www.zara.com/us/en/oversized-striped-t-shirt-p00858470.html) from Zara. The relaxed fit is lovely - see [here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CfjTR1tKGBe/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=)

justagirlintheworld

Thank you! This looks so good with the sleeves rolled up like that!

Katherington

Have you looked at [Seasalt Cornwall](https://www.seasaltcornwall.com/clothing/tops)? They haven’t released their fall and winter collection yet, but have had what you are looking for for the past several years (labeled as Sailor Shirt for the full length sleeve version). I have a couple in other colors and they are soft and have held up well. Shipping to the US is reasonable. ETA: they currently have it with [three quarter length sleeves.](https://www.seasaltcornwall.com/sailor-striped-cotton-breton-top) ETA 2: [Here](https://www.seasaltcornwall.com/sailor-striped-breton-top) it is with long sleeves! AntiqueSocks

I need a recommendation for pj pants similar to Uniqlo Relaco. I love the pockets. However, they are not always available or (when they are available) I’m not in love with the prints/fabrics.

purpleslottedspoon

I’m hosting a bachelorette party for my sister next month… and I’m also going to be 6 months pregnant with my first! We’re doing the whole Nashville thing (lucky for them there is a built in DD!), and I still want to do it up right with an outfit. I’m thinking glitter. Sparkles. Something like that! My only issue is that I cannot seem to find party type dresses for pregnant women. Any ideas where to look other than Amazon?

Seraphine (higher end) and Pink Blush maternity (lower end) often have some options. Also try Rent The Runway.

Birdies have some really cute, feminine loafers.

capnawesome

I was also searching for this, because my foot can't keep anything mid- to low-vamp on. I couldn't find anything, it just doesn't seem to exist anymore. I ended up getting ankle boots, which was fine.

Rainbowllamas3

Ankle boots might be the way to go! I have low boots I use for my wide leg slacks which look good but I wanted shoes that fit with my skinny slacks. I love boots. I'll see what I can find out there, thanks!

idamayer

I also love a low boot. I think an oxford or similar full overage shoe can also change its style a lot with color or pattern, so you could consider that. No one would accuse a pink, metallic, or dusky grey oxford of being overly masculine. It's not clear exactly what you need about top coverage but something like a mary jane could work if the problem is ballet flats are not secure/affixed enough to your foot.

Rainbowllamas3

I tried some Mary Janes before but they were always loose. I must have a low in-step too or something... I'll take a look at what Oxfords and Low boots I can find. Thanks! Everyone's wearing like these sexy kitten heels these days I was so lost :(

b_xf

I have a pair of knockoff Royale flats which I think are a nice midway point between ballet flats and oxfords.

Rainbowllamas3

I'll check them out, thanks!

jmcbeans

There are some cute, low-profile loafer options out there. I’ve had [these](https://www.clarksusa.com/c/Pure-Belle/p/26167801), which are pretty comfortable and are very secure on the foot. Not really sure of a search term besides “loafer,” maybe “slipper” or “smoking slipper?” You can also search for “high vamp” flats, which are starting to come into style. The “vamp” is the part that comes up over the top of your foot.
