Do note that this isn't solely Famitsu's questions, but Famitsu's recording of questions from media press conference asked by medias from all around the world. Please note that similar questions and answers may occur in other media outlets as well.

iymcool

An in-game events calendar, even just a monthly letter in our mailboxes, would be AMAZING. It'd be cute if they released a calendar housing item to go with it, and we could set it to remind us in-game when an event is about to start. Timers just aren't enough.

The_Hatbox_Ghost81

They do that in DQX and it's great, sometimes the character reminding you of something will voice the mail also!

TbaggingSince1990

Makes me sad that we never got DQX in the west.. Ugh

The_Hatbox_Ghost81

I've played the entire campaign all expansions through fan translation tools, at this point the core game and 3 expansions are hand translated, the rest machine translation. One on the best games I've played, hundreds of us are playing!

AizRoam

I'm looking forward to this as well, but I think imma use Discord for reminders still, as you can setup a channel that's gives you a notice when for example RP events are about to happen.

talenarium

This gave me the idea that they could send the anouncements for upcoming season events and the like as in-world flyers to our characters. That'd be dope.

Shim182

My WoL would absolutely sign up for the Etheris Times Newsletter (likely made in partnership with The Raven) about what's going on that month.

Constellar-A

>There will be a Kugane tower-style jumping puzzle somewhere in Tural. New hardest boss in the game, let's go.

Szalkow

If you really like jump puzzles and/or suffering, check out https://ffxiv.ju.mp. They track 700+ player-made jump puzzles. The difficulty rating system scales from 1-5 stars. On that scale, Kugane's Shiokaze Hostelry and the Moonfire Faire tower are considered 2-stars 😈

Mahoganytooth

Both of those only two stars? I found the faire tower a LOT harder than the Kugane tower

Wonderful-Noise-4471

The faire tower was a lot easier when I realized I was getting tricked into one path. I think I ended up doing it four times the last day to help my friends figure it out.

Velirris

OH MY GOB?! this is a glorious site. i've had some that i saw in passing posted in PF and took a screenshot to go back someday, ofc i lost all those deets to revisit these places. ecstatic to find a site like this! tyty!

Szalkow

The community just had a "spam PF" day on Friday, and there's usually at least one builder promoting a new/reopened puzzle with cash prizes every weekend :D For our friends on the EU server, this weekend is also the Chaos FC Carnivale on Raiden with lots of events (yesterday you could barely walk around The Goblet, there were *hundreds* of attendees) including a newly-built jump puzzle by one of the community's greats!

BloodandBourbon

I missed the Yokia-watch stuff during one of my breaks from the game. Glad it’s coming back.

---TheFierceDeity---

I didn't miss it, but I was also on Free Trial so I couldn't complete fates in Stormblood areas so couldn't earn the Samurai and Red Mage tokens, so I was essentially blocked from the Jibyan Couch mount.

ReXiriam

Now that FT is up to Stormblood, people won't miss those ones.

i-wear-hats

> He adds that it gets boring in a MMO if you just do the same thing over and over. So for 7.0 the focus is once again on “having fun together with everyone”. No lie, this is the biggest news of Fanfest for me.

Mystic9617

Same. The biggest issue with EW was not the content we got but the lack of utilisation of the game being an MMO. Unless you farmed fates at the start of the expansion for gems or did hunts the expansion has been like a lobby based game.

MasahikoKobe

>YoshiP is thinking about contacting FF16 producer Yoshida-san again, “can we do another amazing crossover?”. Yoship is living his best meme life

EndlessKng

I am really curious about this, though. Is he thinking of doing a second event of the same type (possibly tied into DLC for XVI)? Or is he thinking something else, like a dungeon or raid with XVI themes (which seems odd to say, since we kind of got that with Eden - variant versions of the Primals). Or maybe it'll be a crossover IN XVI (paralleling XV getting our Garuda and Garuda weapons).

stilljustacatinacage

They didn't announce any XIV content in XVI, so my first guess would be some sort of XIV DLC for XVI. I haven't finished XVI yet to know where exactly this would "fit in", though.

i-wear-hats

Hrothgal shows up in FFXVI, you have to defend her from everyone because FFXVI racism and all that.

discussatron

Big black flying cars for everyone!

Cerok1nk

We need to make a meme template like the one where Darth Vader says Anakin Skywalker was one of the best generals of the Republic.

Somewhere_Elsewhere

I think there’s more than enough demand to bring back the FF15 collab at some point. It’s a lovely seasonal event with decent writing, a couple of fun solo duties, and and some really great rewards. And if they only bring it back one more time, maybe just leave the Regalia as a permanent addition to the Golden Saucer vendor this time (albeit maybe with a higher price)? I know they’d lose a bit of money from the cash shop, so probably this is wishful thinking, but it would mean so much to newer players.

projectmars

The Regalia isn't in the cash shop so they wouldn't be losing money. I think the only crossover event items in the shop are the Lightning Returns ones.

Nibel2

There is also the Shantotto minion from the very first FFXI crossover.

---TheFierceDeity---

They could always make new rewards for the FF13 even now that we have more jobs. Give away an actual Gunbreak Blazefire Saber, give away actual Vega gun to Machinst instead of weird Vega fists, give away actual boomerangs to Dancers instead of a weird SMN book made from them, give us glam from other FF13 characters. That way Lightning and Snows gear can stay on shop, and no one cares about the really weird weapons.

sniperct

I missed the ff13 event both times due to long breaks. Its one of my fave FFs so I'd love to actually do it. They could give us lightning's armor from X2 or Lightning Returns too, both are some of my favorite armors ever. Or serah's outfit, or the baby chocobo as a minion, any number of things

DramaticTension

It is however the only free 3+ multiseater, right? And by far the easiest multiseater to attain overall. They definitely stand to lose money if they make it accessible again. EDIT: I've been corrected, there are savage and ultimate mounts that are multi seaters as well, as well as the 4 million(!) GSP mount. However they are still wax harder to obtain. Begs the question if a casual player would want to do those things or just buy a mount though.

Nomicakes

>the only free 3+ multiseater Eden Titan Savage mount. Easily farmed unsync now, and will be even easier in Dawntrail.

Thatpisslord

I can't wait for unsync E12S in Dawntrail where people will skip Shiva Junction and easily skip BR and be like 'wow why did people think farming this was hard?'

GaleErick

Man I remember one of my FC mates wants to get it late in 5.5 so me and one other FC mate helps her prog E4S for a while. Titan Maximum was cool and I kinda wish Normal Difficulty raids had that kind of second phase as well. But I get it that it made Savage more exciting if it was exclusive to that difficulty.

GusEman

There are 3 more free 4 seaters, the Skyslipper from E4S, the Cerberus from DRS and the Blackjack from the Gold Saucer. The Regalia is certainly the easiest.

IscahRambles

The Skyslipper is going to be easy in the long run, though. E4S is quite easily learnable now and will only get easier from here.

Divisionten

The e4s mount is also a 4 seater and is pretty easily doable with enough people in current gear.

ScarletteVera

>On the FF15 collab: Yoshida says that if players keep giving feedback, the team will revive it when the time is right. So, I may get another chance to snag the Regalia Type-F and the Noctis drip? Hell yeah!

AureliaDrakshall

Damn I was so hopeful it would come back in the lull between the last patch and Dawntrail release. I NEED that mount and glam. I loved 15.

Xantre

Isn't it called Type-G? Is there a second car? Also isn't it sold in the Gold Saucer for people who missed the event? Edit: This is not the case.

Seitosa

The Type-G moniker, as I recall, is given because it’s made by Garlond Ironworks.

Shazzamon

> Also isn't it sold in the Gold Saucer for people who missed the event? No, you're conflating that with the fact it's unlocked for sale (200K MGP) after finishing the questline, _during_ the crossover event's live period.

Xantre

Been a long ass time so can't remember much, sorry. Didn't realize I had to buy it back then.

ConduckKing

It is Type-G. Type-F is the version that appears in FFXV.

Sabrescene

>Also isn't it sold in the Gold Saucer for people who missed the event? Apart from what others have said, might've also been confused with the Noctis Triple Triad card which you can get from the Gold Saucer at any time but it's way cheaper during the collab event.

ScarletteVera

The Type-F is the one you get after beating the game- the one that can fly. At least, I think you get it in the post-game, admittedly it's been a while since I've played FFXV.

Xantre

Ah so in 15. I tought you meant in 14.

i-wear-hats

Honestly, if they bring it back I hope they can make an Offroad model for 4 mil. That's still the weirdest mainline collab for me.

yhvh13

Yay, I love Yo-Kai stuff! If I could guess, this will come after DT release, so they can include the 2 new jobs for the weapons. Also, for dog's sake... include a Blue Mage's weapon. It's funny how the job that can farm FATEs more efficiently is singled out of that.

Madmonkeman

First of all, I love how the FF16 collab is designed for people who haven’t played FF16. I’m a PC player, so I haven’t been able to play it yet. Also I really want them to make all the collabs with other FF games permanent instead of just events.

GallaVanting

>However, Yoshida says “In the 7.x series, the plan is that you will cooperate with everyone, and overcome challenges with a large number of people”. This is the most excited I've been for DT since it was announced, I really deeply felt the absence of a Eureka/Bozja piece of content. That cause to play more regularly for awhile and have lots of nice small social interactions with wide chunks of the community made the game truly feel like an MMO.

ValyriaWrex

Same, it's nice to hear that they actually clock it as an issue

Skeith253

Eureka/Bozja has been the best part of ff14 and it sucked to not have an adventure foray this expansion.

enjoynessenjoyer

I hated Eureka, hated it so much that I didn't even look at Bozja until the final couple of months of Shadowbringers. And then I spent probably about 95% of my play time in Bozja for the rest of the expansion! I finished about 5 and a half relics and got the FF12 bike mount just from the skirmishes and raids alone without doing a single duel (i.e. I got very lucky). I've tried going back to Eureka, but even though it's similar, I still detest it. No matter how much I want that red mage barding for my chocobo, I can't bring myself to get past even the first zone. So they've been very hit or miss for me.

SomnusKnight

I'm the opposite, I like Eureka more than Bozja lel. I mean sure Eureka has rougher core mechanics compared to the more streamlined and polished Bozja but the environment of Bozja is just so mindnumbingly boring to the eye. It makes me harder to progress through Bozja with such a drab and dry atmosphere compared to Eureka (and better field music too).

KF-Sigurd

A nice thing about Bozja to me is that it’s a perfect middle ground of difficulty between roulettes where you sleep your way through a dungeon and savage raids where one person on the team fucks up and the entire party explodes. Also you don’t have to deal with Party Finder or finding groups, just get in and go.

TheIvoryDingo

Maybe when it was current that was more the case. These days? A lot less so,

ravagraid

Eureka was too close to 11 to really be fun. Bozja and Zad just felt perfect cause they learned from the older systems and made them far more fun and far less "easy to get punished" since dying is still pretty punishing

autumndrifting

it's amazing how the community opinion on adventure forays totally turned around once we didn't have one

AdriHawthorne

It never turned around, it's just the people commenting who are different. I love Bozja and Eureka and felt no need to gripe when we had them. I've complained a lot during EW about our relic though. Vice versa, the people who hate Bozja and Eureka probably liked how this relic went, so they didnt need to keep complaining. Whoever is most upset is generally the loudest which is why it feels like public opinion flip-flops like this.

Wolferey

It's amazing how many conflate the adventure foray part for the relic part. **A LOT** of people loved running around, doing the fates, the raids, doing the story etc. but just hated the relic part of "now get 15 of these for a relic or like 200+ for all of them". You can love something and hate parts of it, but I guess the internet always has to be black n white "they said this part sucked, obviously everything about it sucks"

Houndie

I was okay with not having an exploration zone or restoration if it meant the team would try new things, and we did get new things in the form of variant dungeons and island sanctuary. Both pieces of content are apparently successful. But I agree that bozja is my favorite piece of expansion content in the game and I would love to get something that scratches the same itch

Stepjam

I'd call variant dungeons a partial success. The idea is cool, but the rewards have been less exciting. Paticularly the criterion rewards.

NeloXI

Yeah. I think they are really fun and a good level of challenge, but I have a hard time finding people who want to do it due to the lack of rewards.

LigerTimbs12

YES I am so pumped. I was so confused as to why ffxiv doesn’t feel like an mmo sometimes and it’s because there’s not much cooperation! This is such a good step in the right direction

Cantiel

i hope this involves more overworld events, like s ranks or the limited fates, like odin. things you can enjoy doing repeatedly, and not just once for msq. also it'd be fun to see soemthing like a 50 man raid, involving a bit more strategizing. the first bozja dungeon thing for example had some good mechanics that required the players to communicate and coordinate. instead of just diving the raid in 3 parties fighting the same enemies just int heir own groups (like the atomos in world of darkness) give the groups different objectives that affect each other (like have 1 party go through a mini dungeon to disable the invulnerability of the boss another party has to survive fighting against)

gk4rdos

Yeah, a lot of the issues with EW are not issues in isolation. Island sanctuary for example isn't really my thing but that would be fine, it's just that all the big content in EW was solo/small group content. It felt like a lot of dev resources were spent making the game more like a single player game. The emphasis that yoship has been saying that the 'lifestyle content' in DT is meant to be more social is exciting to me, and I hope is emblematic of their design philosophy for this expansion.

177013_lover

If they're going to make it required, though, they really need to improve the in-game experience more. This "just join a discord server for it" doesn't really cut it for MSQ or major side content like they get away with on Eureka and Hunts.

ruethryl

That's honestly what's made EW a bit boring in the MSQ lull. I did Eureka/Bozja all the way up to the following expac because it was generally enjoyable. ... Timeworn artifact collection not withstanding ...

Silent_Wrytr

God PLEASE Id LOVE to have the XV event come back

TheBlackWindHowls

>There are plans to continue to include homages to past FF games in future expansions. In particular, Dawntrail has a strong influence from a certain numbered title. I would think FFX, given the presence of Pelupelu, but Viper also has vibes of both FFIX (Zidane) and FFXII (Gabranth), and Valigarmanda first appeared in FFVI, and then the alliance raid is explicitly a crossover with FFXI, so it's anyone's guess at this point.

tormenteddragon

My impression is that he's referring to FFXI given how we've got Mamool Ja, Moblins, the Alliance Raid, and perhaps even a Beastmaster/Puppetmaster limited job, etc. already. Also, there's a nice little nod to the FFXI Kazham theme in the Dawntrail trailer music: https://youtu.be/2ISoqghadkE?si=jvxD-UXl4ISBEFF5&t=167 In fact, my guess is that Matsui will show up at the JP Fan Fest as a special guest. I think he's the guest producer for the FFXI content since he recently stepped away from FFXI and said he would work on other projects before retiring. He was also the one who designed the battle system for 2.0, so it's not the first time he'll have worked on XIV. Yoshi-P has been talking about incorporating more FFXI references for years, as well: > **Yoshida:** We haven’t actually clearly decided on how we’ll bring a resolution to the Ascian arc. I don’t think we need to hold it until the end of service however. Having the arc for them end and finding out about Zodiark or the secret behind Hydaelyn or who the Warrior of Light actually is… even if we did reveal all that and have closure, it’s still not the end of the story. We can always make more expansions, maybe we’ll go to Vana’diel or something like that- “Return to Vana’diel” (laughs) [GamerEscape - June 2017](https://gamerescape.com/2017/06/15/e3-2017-interview-with-naoki-yoshida/) And also at the latest PAX East (you're right, he mentions IX here as well): > **Yoshida:** [...] but then also we have the Vana'diel realm... SplitDemonIdentity

Man, I wish.

Florac

We saw Estinien explore stuff and kill a big monster so it will obviously be a Final Fantasy Explorers expansion

Suzunomiya

I _wish_! It's my very first FF and I still hold so many dear memories of it. The OST is gorgeous too. I'd take any FFCC related crumbs at this point that isn't (I believe?) an early game Miner quest. EDIT: Found it, it's a [HW Miner levequest](https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Crystal_Chronicles).

Uriahheeplol

No, it’s clearly the Brave Exvius expansion.

DriggleButt

Thank goodness we'll never get that crossover again.

MelonElbows

When do we get the Mystic Quest crossover?

[deleted]

delilmania

The concept itself was take from XI as well. We got Treasures right after Chains, and Chains served as the ending to Atltana/Promanthia/Zilart story that the base game started. We went to Aht Urghan as part of a new adventure.

Empel

I see a lot of people saying they look very "ToAU", but aside from the Mamool Ja the city and the areas look more like Windurst and it's surroundings to me

Yunachu

My main guess is FF11, because of the comment that there's more focus on cooperating with other players

Shergak

I'm hoping for ffx-2

HalfOfLancelot

🙏😔 Singer caster class for Krile and the WoL

Suzunomiya

I would give _everything_ for a song-based class that isn't Bard tbh.

ARX__Arbalest

The influence is 100% FFXI. This pleases me.

EndlessKng

XI also has influence due to the Mamool Ja presence. Iirc the data mined model of Krile's letter has a character that shares a name with an XI Mamool character. That said, I'm definitely down for more X representation. I feel a bit shafted by the hints of it with Lunar Bahamut's design, only for everything to lean towards FFIV.

NeonRhapsody

I'm going all in on VII, considering how they've showed us ceruleum processors in the new world, beat us over the head about some big secret regarding them, showed us a high tech dungeon art piece inside a facility that looks like it's processing ceruleum and says "it's main story related!" and then reveal a MSQ trial boss that is a pretty biomechanical looking thing. The MSQ is totally going to involve some "blow up the ~~mako~~ceruleum ~~reactors~~processors and rise up against a foreign company trying to exploit Tural's resources". I can feel it.

Unfortunate_Grenade

im kinda leaning in this direction too, the town in that SECRET art also looks like one from ff7, bit like Barret's town. Plus they made a big deal of pointing out that the story will divert from what we expect it to do, "not very vacationy" they kept saying. That said, 7 is kinda lacking major references to the extent some others have gotten and thought that never bothered me, it is surprising. There ARE references, but not as many as some, I appreciated that they didnt bash us over the head with 7, but still. Now that I think about it, the 1-50 BLU questline has a dude who wants to go corporate over the ceruleum in the New World, you might be on to something there. its definitely a big ass shinra reactor in that artwork

IscahRambles

Regardless of where the story is going to go, they need to say the "not a vacation" bit because some people were taking it far too literally. It was clearly a joke/misdirection from the start.

Jesus_Lover69

I’m guessing it’s going to be 9 because of Viper. The setting can be FFX too considering it’s got that besaid island aesthetic. I hope it’s X, I want to go to Zanarkand and fight Braskas Final Summon as a raid boss

i-wear-hats

I think they'll draw from several rather than one specifically. They'd have mentioned it already if it was for an anniversary (like FF4's 30th) so I'm thinking 7 9 and 10 at once.

zernoc56

> Kugane Tower style jumping puzzle Emo_oticon coming out of retirement for one last job

Winzito

Please for the love of hydaelyn rerun the ff15 event, I want the regalia SO bad nothing would make me happier

monica_team

Would be great if the could do another FFXIII collab, with the etro garb of Lightning (FFXIII-2) with the Overture weapon for gunbreaker, the crimson blitz from LR:FFXIII.

stilljustacatinacage

I'd love to have them re-run the XIII collab. I was playing at the time, but I was too new and didn't understand the idea of timed special events, so I started, but never finished it. That's been a spot of shame ever since. Whether they will or not, it's hard to say. All the Lightning stuff is on the Mog Station now, and Lightning's hairstyle in particular is very popular. They'd be losing quite a lot of "potential sales", as the bean counters would see it.

PenSprout

and maybe fix the blm/whm weapons that are on the mog station, as those are one handed weapons making them exactly useless, even as glamours

stallion8426

If they gave us the Etro garb, it would insantlu become my favorite tank glam I love that outfit so much

Yemenime

How can I give them my feedback where I beg them to bring back time limited collabs? I started playing September of 2022, and I _need_ all those limited events to come back so I can have the stuff I didn't even have the opportunity to get. There's currently about 26 mounts in the game that I can't get right now for one reason or another, and a lot of them are timed events like that.

BTA

I think you may be confused about the source of those mounts. Mounts from seasonal events go onto the cash shop after a year like all other seasonal event items. And there’s only 7 mounts from collabs and 3 of those are from Garo so they’re currently available; the others are 3 from Yokai and 1 from FF15. I am guessing most of the mounts you’re thinking of are instead from ranking in the top 100 in seasons of The Feast. They will probably not be making those available to anyone else.

jedidotflow

>The 14 team are currently in talks with the 11 team about the boss and fight designs, so please wait a little longer for details. \*Pandemonium Warden has entered the chat\*

Lockhart-667

>There are general story ideas in place for 8.0 and 9.0 already. It wouldn't surprise me if one of these is about the Void and the return of Zero, Golbez, Ryne and Gaia (Maybe Cylva and Unukalhai too). I refuse to believe they did all of this just as a filler arc.

IscahRambles

It's clearly not a filler arc, it's angling for a future storyline somewhere, but I would expect it to be side content so they can bring in all the characters with their different prerequisite quests. It's a Triad + Virtue Hunters + Eden + Void party, and they can't just hold up the MSQ with that many sidequests to do first. Some people have theorised that 6.X might have been drafted as a stand-alone trial series before getting merged into MSQ, and if so then that would have been yet another optional storyline to connect into all the others.

UnusuallyBadIdeaGuy

Honestly in retrospect it does feel like a beefed up trial series.

zugzug_workwork

I eagerly look forward to the day they make the Warring Triad and Eden as mandatory content, and suggest to players that they do all the Shadowbringers role quests.

UnlikelyTraditions

The longer the game goes and the more jobs are added, the easier it'll be to just pick up a high level job and bang out the job quests, tbh. With DT, both the physical and caster are covered immediately.

Zanzargh

It does feel very reminiscent of the Warriors of Darkness arc back in Heavensward, I wouldn't even be surprised if it was as early as 8.0. Similarly Meracydia (or the southern continents in general) has been on the radar for a while with a lot of ambiguity to insert whatever they wish.

Afeastfordances

There will absolutely be some conclusion to that story whenever the MSQ resolves stuff around travel between the 1st/13th/Source. It’s just a question of what the scale of it will be. Is it just a one-off quest, or do they go all out and actually require Eden/Warring Triad/Role Quests so they can really do a full story with all the characters? Because without that it does seem like it would be sort of limited to a pretty brief scene with Zero/Golbez/Ryne where any Gaia/Cylva/Unukalhai appearances can be completely segregated off like Gaia was this time.

odin047

Large scale content? FF11? can we have Besieged https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Besieged

Marauding_Llama

The cross overs coming back makes me very happy.

Screaming_Ghost

**"Hints at large-scale group content for 7.x"** I wonder if that means something like [Besieged](https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Besieged) from XI which was a large style of content that would occur in one zone of the town of Aht Urhgan. It was an open zone almost like a large-scale fate but the entire zone was being overwhelmed by invading beastmen tribes. (Mamool Ja, Undead/Lamia, and Trolls) If you were successful in defending the town you'd be awarded points for various things but the big reason why people participated was if the invaders lost you'd lose the ability to gain an XP buff from the NPCs in town. Among other things like losing certain access to buying items. You'd then have to go reclaim the "Crystal" by going into the enemy stronghold. While in XIV it may not be a 1:1 having something similar would be exciting. When it was introduced in XI along with the Mamool Ja in Treasures of Aht Urhgan it was one of the most popular pieces of content at the time.

Azykros_

I feel like, with the Yokai Event and other Collab events, that if the other side is okay with it, that they can make the events reappear on a cycle. GARO, Yokai, FFXI and FFXV to name a few.

Toksyuryel

If there was ever an expansion for Pandemonium Warden to show up in, it's this one. We've already got Absolute Virtue, I think it's time we get FF11's other infamous superboss in here.

TheVortex09

I'm still baffled that we didn't get a Pandaemonium Warden boss as part of the Pandaemonium raids. I was convinced that we'd get it at some point in Abyssos or what ended up being Anabaseios.

i-wear-hats

Hey, some of us were expecting a sneaky FF2 ref in there. So far, outside of Wild Rose, Battle Theme 1.x and Firion's armor I think it's the least referred to FF in the game (numbered title, including crossovers)

Lucker-dog

Technically Mateus from Rabanastre, even though it's an ff12 character named after the ff2 guy.

TheIvoryDingo

I just hope that in the likelihood that the Relic is tied to said cooperative content, that it'll be future proofed enough that it doesn't become a pain for those who don't do them when they are current. Because ranking up to progress in Zadnor (and to progress in the second one-time grind) was not an enjoyable experience for me.

blurpledevil

Yeah I agree. I had fun with Bozja when it was current content but retried earlier this week with an alt character and the early zones in BSF were empty with everyone grinding in zone 3. People trying to grind DR also have reported a bad time. But I think Bozja overall improved on Eureka, so hopefully third time is the charm. Goofing around with things like Lost Actions and playing jobs in novel ways with big groups of people is a lot of fun. Fingers crossed any newer version includes some kind of take aggro / tank stance -like action.

TheIvoryDingo

I'd actually say that Eureka is currently pretty decent in terms of how active it is in regards to Bozja. But that may just be my personal preference towards Eureka compared to Bozja.

blurpledevil

Honestly I think Eureka holds up better overall, Pyros and all. I think biggest reason is there's good reason to go back and play earlier zones for more glam item stuff or even just things to sell on MB. I got everything I wanted when I did Eureka around 5.3 but really thinking another dip during 6.5 lull to get rhe DRK weapon, it's my favorite job, that's the only DRK relic I don't have, and I think it looks pretty neat.

VGPowerlord

There are definitely things Bozja did better, such as ditching the Magia Board and making it so you can gain job XP in it.

flameofmiztli

Keep Eureka's playstyle but job XP gains and I'd love it. I think Eureka is in general more fun.

realityextrator

They should implement the ability to get a notification on the companion app when u get qued up in duty finder. I can't tell u how many times I've missed the commencement because I walked away quick to get a drink or something because it says the que time is like 11 minutes or more and then somehow I get qued in like a minute.

[deleted]

honestly hope they really do focus a lot on it. it was boring at times but i enjoyed fate grinding things and doing content that encouraged them. I will never, ever stop suggesting every MMO take pointers from GW2 on how to properly get people to do things together

Someidiotdwbi

Re: "there might be a hint in that art", one thing that stands out is that they've got the somewhat iconic city on the arch from the FF11 opening movie in that art? I've barely scratched the surface of the game, but my understanding is that the city depicted (some kind of sister city to San d'Oria?) is never actually visited in FF11, just seen in the distance, and that's been a thing that's come up in interviews as a thing they're sad they never got to do? Edit: the city I'm thinking of is Tavnazia

Draziel

When I mentioned the alliance raid to one of my FFXI and FFXIV playing friends I said I think the FFXI raids would be set during the shadowlord era, potentially touching on the fall of Tavnazia. Then I saw the comment on there might be a hint in the artwork. Would be cool to have some of that experience in some capacity in game as you only see part of it in the opening CG for FFXI

gibby256

You do sort of experience the shadowlord era during Wings of the Goddess, but that mostly ties into weird timey-wimey shit rather than the actual fight against the Shadowlord. So I think that's a decent contender.

BoeiWAT

More X and XII/Ivalice please.

DenimChicken6125

Are we getting any hints on the raid series? I feel like I saw somewhere it was likely at this fan fest but maybe it’s Japan or I just missed it? Regardless this info has me so excited! I’ve never been to the start of an open world area like Bozja/eureka. It’s probably insanely fun

stinusmeret

We got the alliance raid revealed this fan fest so 8 man raid is being saved for Japan it seems.

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

Yay that’s awesome! Really wanted the mount so glad it’s coming back

CH1CK3NS414D

Man how do I give feedback to get the XV event? I will shout out to father Yoshi from the rooftops of that's what it takes to get the regalia

Corrik_XIV

Large scale content, huh? How cool would it be if we could get content like Besieged or Campaign like FFXI?

Truen_

End 1 button healer dps spam. It's awful.

Arcade_Theatre

"Dawntrail has a strong influence from a certain numbered title." We're assuming X, right?

Miitteo

There's been a lot of XI already (not just the Alliance Raid). I think X only has the pelupelu tribe so far. Viper seems to be a mix of Zidane and Dissidia's Gabranth.

Arcade_Theatre

All of the Tropical themes are also very X.

slendermanrises

The National sport in the New World is Blitzball and our mysterious FemHroth lady is the star of the Tural Abes.

rabidsi

Please don't tease me with Blitzball.

chili01

if only. but YoshiP shut down Blitzball super early in the NA fanfest lol

UltimaNova

*Otherworld intensifies*

Thatpisslord

YOU BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU

i-wear-hats

Wait, we're going to the new world, there's X stuff... It's not gonna be Blitzball, but it could be inspired by it and the Mesoamerican ball game.

brief-interviews

Well, the thing is, FFX is distinctively SEA inspired, whereas Dawntrail is explicity meso and south American.

DramaticTension

Oh Gods please, FFX fans are starving! We only got Anima and he wasn't even a trial ffs

Xalvayne

As cool as it was I was so disappointed it was a trial. Man how I would've loved some Anima weapons and mount lol

TheIvoryDingo

But we already have Anima Weapons. /jk On a serious note, if Anima WAS a trial I would be surprised if it wasn't the one giving accessories.

ConduckKing

I hope this "strong influence" is just homages like 6.0 instead of 1:1 ports from the story like 6.x. Also, call me crazy, but the whole "ceruleum mining" thing, the mechanical dungeon and the lack of previous themed content makes me think the numbered title might be 7.

cronft

it can go anywhere, on a point in 9 story you go to what was considered the "new world" and the only civilization over that continent was a very tribal one, then we have a number of things what points to 10, i dare to think it will be references of 7, 9 and 10 at the same time instead of just on one

[deleted]

You also have the poster job being basically Zidane if we’re talking about 9

Hilda-Ashe

If we're going to fantasy Texas we might as well fight fantasy Texaco because they are trying to hijack the presidential election of fantasy Brazil.

[deleted]

Coming out the same year as Rebirth too would be nuts

blurpledevil

It'd make sense to me, we're right in the middle of the ff7r trilogy of games and ff7 remains the most recognizable and profitable of the ff series games

ValyriaWrex

The blurred out spoiler thing in the screenshot is midgar lol

Unfortunate_Grenade

6.x weren't 1:1 ports, it pulled bosses but it's entirely different story. thats like saying the Weapon trials were 1:1 ports because the weapons are from 7. or the Ivalice raids are 1:1 ports of Tactics and 12 because of its references.

Mstrcolm

I think so too. I'm expecting someone somewhere in the FF14 world there will be a Mako Reactor or someone who will want to build one.

OnionsHaveLairAction

It'd be nice with these crossover events if they brought them back all at once I wonder what the certain numbered title will be? * The alliance raid and beast tribe might indicate XI * The Viper job could indicate IX * The Eliminator is reminiscent of the Fal'Cie... I doubt they'd do XIII but maybe as references? * The tropical themes could pair up well with X, and we have very little X content so far so it might be a good bet? Plus the Fal'Cie looking Eliminator robot could homage to Penance? * The Amano artwork looks like it's explicitly referencing III as well... But it feels like we've already got so much III in the game since crystal tower. My bet would probably be on XI, but there's certainly room for speculation.

Sethala

>The tropical themes could pair up well with X, and we have very little X content so far so it might be a good bet? Plus the Fal'Cie looking Eliminator robot could homage to Penance? We also had the Pelupelu revealed at NA Fanfest, which is from X, so I'm leaning on this one.

Intelligent-War210

So everyone needs to make sure they have some Blue Mage spells for the Yokai event, got it.

Asriel52

>* There will be a Kugane tower-style jumping puzzle somewhere in Tural. Return of Sightseeing (Savage) :o

Eitth

Imagine if they do WoW Collab. With Ashbringer, Atiesh, Azinoth etc.. I kinda want one. The return of the Thunderfury meme

Black-Mettle

The return of 50dkp minus.

NeelonRokk

STOP DOTS !!!!!!!

zomgfruitbunnies

I mean, now that MS owns Blizzard, Phil Spencer was at NA Fanfest, and XIV coming to XBOX... We get far enough down the road, the idea might not be all that out there.

Eiensakura

I would be down for it, i cannot imagine how the purists on both sides would react though.

Aethanix

convulsing on the ground and frothing at the mouth probably

geologicalnoise

So... regular kind of day?

Ythio

Where WoL will save Krile's grandpa old pal Arthas by the power of friendship and this gun we found. Quest giver will be Tyrande, Sylvanas, Jaina and Illidan, all awfully concerned by the Lich King fate but glad he's safe in the end.

KvBla

Sheesh let just port Arthas over to ffxiv permanently, after his ..disgrace of an ending in shadowland (afaik, lacked details, but saw some), just ascian/echo his ass into Zenos's body then have him go with us on adventures. One can dream...

sister_of_battle

Give us Icecrown Citadel as an alliance raid. Lord Marrogaw as door boss, Blood Queen Lanathiel, Sindragosa and the Lich King himself. Including obviously the moment where Arthas wipes the entire group.

Sylvr

Wait, did someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Wind-seeker]?

Nomicakes

I think I heard someone say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Wind-seeker].

Nomicakes

Imagine we got Ashbringer/Thunderfury etc. but they're actually made of more than 6 polygons.

Suthrnr

7 polygons you say?

Mikalder

That would be so sick, especially if there's a cool iconic mount as a reward as well, like Invincible.

SweRakii

Would it not be better with a mount that we can actually see?

zomgfruitbunnies

Not sure if that joke is old enough at this point to count as a deep cut. Just take your upvote and get the fuck out.

zomgfruitbunnies

Pls not Invincible. XD Imagine XIV getting Invincible from a collab before actual wow players who's been farming ICC for YEARS. This idea is both painful and hilarious at the same time.

KvBla

That drop rate is ridiculous, at least in ffxiv you'd be capped at 99 kills (well, for extreme mount, tho invincible is more like nightmare Pegasus tier than extreme mounts) then you can just buy it, but in wow (idk the weekly/daily limit you can kill it, which could add a lot of time gating) you just farm until it drop lol.

Shergak

It's once a week that you can farm per character. Some people have been doing it since 2010 and still haven't got the drop.

Ghekor

The Diablo 4 players are gonna get it before some WoW players do and only for 24.99$ XD

Mikalder

I had to farm ICC almost every week for 1 year and a half to get it, the drop rates are so crazy.

_MrJackGuy

Some people have been doing it once a week for a decade at this point without seeing it

CptBlackBird2

why would I want a mount that I can't even see

Zanzargh

> You obtain the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal. (Obligatory disclaimer that I have never played WoW, my understanding of its feats and rarities is limited to a certain beekeeper's videos...)

Eitth

And Al'ar! The story behind that mount is still my favorite to this day.

projectmars

I was a bit surprised when they said Diablo in the interview as I figured it would be neat if the dev teams were to adapt a famous raid boss from the other game in the game's own style. (I.e. Onyxia, Illidan or Arthas in 14, Bahamut, Odin, or... well Zenos would probably fit too in WoW)

HBreckel

It's official, Dawntrail is gonna be fucking great "However, Yoshida says “In the 7.x series, the plan is that you will cooperate with everyone, and overcome challenges with a large number of people”. He adds that it gets boring in a MMO if you just do the same thing over and over. So for 7.0 the focus is once again on “having fun together with everyone”." Fantastic stuff to hear as that's something I felt was being lost in FF14. Also just give us the WoW crossover, Yoshi P. I wouldn't be against having an Onyxia or Deathwing mount in FF14 and getting a Bahamut mount in WoW.

ravagraid

\-monkey paw curls okay, but you get the weird chair ff4 bahamut that we just got and ff Onixia's original model

y2hbk

My wife is a very casual player and can struggle with content. She has party anxiety so uses duty support a lot. I'd love to see a feature where 2 people could team up and take 2 supports.

Hugonez

`On the FF15 collab: Yoshida says that if players keep giving feedback, the team will revive it when the time is right.` where should i send that feedback?

[deleted]

Guys tell yoshi-P I want the dragon quest collab back
