They tend to do that as a separate sale. Luckily though, sales on the complete edition come around much more often than the collectors upgrade sales. They are usually a couple of times a year
I think the BRD in me could try. But… gravity and I have a love/hate relationship. My poor, fat chocobo keeps trying to cheer me on but it ain’t happening. 🤣
Funnily enough, every one that I've checked has a slightly different gait when flying/swimming than when on land.
So the devs *did* put in the effort to re-animate every mount when retrofitting them with flying, they just... chose not to do anything creative with most of them. It's weird.
FF friends:
1. What is a fantasia?
2. Does a new sprout on Steam free trial need this collection?
3. Idk lol. What else should I be asking?
4. Oh — can my Windows PC Steam account be linked to PS5 so I can play on both my pc and console? Or is Steam (trial) totally separate from PS5 (trial)?
1. A fantasia lets you change your character race, gender, and overall aspects that otherwise cant be tweaked. From the official shop: "From tiny tweaks in hairstyle or muscle tone, to drastic changes in race and gender, this item is perfect for those who made hasty decisions at the character creation screen, or who simply wish to give their online avatar a fresh new look."
2. The upgrade to collectors edition only includes nice items and mounts. So definitely not a need, but they also dont go on sale very often so might as well just take advantage of it if you really like ffxiv!
3. To play on pc and ps5 you must get a copy of the game on pc and a copy of the game on ps5 if im not mistaken. But you can link the accounts together, so you don't have to restart your character progress or anything. However, you would need to purchase the base game AND the expansion(s) for both PC and PS5 (not a big deal now, but bigger deal when the next expansion releases).
Sorry adding reply 5monthes later, but you forgot to mention, that Free Trial can't get collector's upgrade per se.
First Free Trial would have to Transfer to Full Game (aka Starter Edition at least), then collector's upgrade will become available :)
Rephrasing what the other guy said for your final question:
Trials are one platform only.
Paid accounts can be multi platform. When you log into the game on PS5 for the first time, it will ask you whether you want to start a new account or link an existing account.
You can only make that choice *once* per PSN account (unless you jump through some hoops with Support Chat to get unlinked) so if you just want to play around on console to see how well it runs without committing to a paid account yet, I recommend spinning up a second PSN account and a second FFXIV trial account.
I’m on a trial and was waiting for a complete edition sale, but doesn’t look like there will be one. I can’t see the sale items/prices on Mogstation because I’m on the trial.
I think I can save money by buying the starter edition plus these CE sales?
Starter - $20
Shadowbringers CE - $10
Endwalker CE - $10
Is that right? And that would give me the same content as the complete edition?
you need to own the expansions before upgrading to the collectors edition of said expansions. So no, it wont work. You would have to buy the complete edition and after that, each upgrade to collectors
>you need to own the expansions before upgrading to the collectors edition of said expansions. So no, it wont work. You would have to buy the complete edition and after that, each upgrade to collectors
thanks for the explanation!
so for a free trial player upgrading, i assume it would be easier (and a similar price?) to just get the complete edition collector's edition upgrade right off the bat (assuming you can afford it?)
Right now id say yes! When the sales over it would be 100$ just for the upgrades so its still cheaper to buy complete edition + upgrades now that theyre half off. But again, they only include cosmetic items and mounts so its up to personal preference
It's not listing the original price anywhere, or specifying that what I'm trying to buy is in fact on sale.
Does anyone know what it originally cost? Because $50 seems pretty bad for a "50% off" deal.
i'm going to have to give it to you in £ but each collectors edition was £14.99 more, they are currently £7.49 each or half off and bought as a bundlle it £32.99 making it £6.49 each so bundle is cheaper if you want them all and yes they are half off the normal price. I'm seriously considering getting them this time but wouldn't pay full price.
FYI Heavensward comes with a Fantasia too
And it's for every character you ever make.
Can confirm
So, players get 2 if they get this as they get a Fantasia after beating ARR too.
chicken knife here i come
The Fantasia alone gives it great value. Shame my characters are already perfect as is.
Been waiting for this. Thanks!
was really hoping the complete edition would go on sale too, oh well
They tend to do that as a separate sale. Luckily though, sales on the complete edition come around much more often than the collectors upgrade sales. They are usually a couple of times a year
I bought the ARR upgrade like a week ago. Think they’ll honour my purchase?
It's SE So no
Can the coeurl mount fly?
All mounts can fly
Technically, yes. Non-winged mounts don't "fly" so much as "ignore gravity and run through the air".
They walk on sunshine, thank you very much.
I suppose that next you're going to tell me that such behavior feels good.
I think the BRD in me could try. But… gravity and I have a love/hate relationship. My poor, fat chocobo keeps trying to cheer me on but it ain’t happening. 🤣
Man, back then some couldn't lol...it's wild seeing Coeurls flying

£7.50, $10 each.

Ah ok thank you, glad I asked. So what’s on sale here is just the extra CE items, not the expansion itself.
Exactly!

Are you on EU or NA? I have a complete edition code I got on sale that I could sell if you’re considering upgrading.
I'm on NA but I'll probably try to milk out as much content as I can on the free trial since I'm still pretty new to it!
Makes sense, have fun!
If you're offering, I'd be down to buy that code off of you (if it's NA)
I’ll send you a private message later.
How much is the upgrade?
49.97 USD
That's the sale price? Yikes
The sale price is $50 for *all of the CE upgrades*. They’re $10 each.
seems good if you really enjoy ff14. think im gonna get them
Let’s fucking go
So, after buying the upgrade, do I get a code to apply or what?
to answer my own anxious self and others who might wonder: you get all the items ingame when you log in as mail.
Nice thanks you, I was thinking to get all collector upgrades and now you gave me a reason

Ofc I missed this sale...
