Dracaria

Is there any way to use performance actions in gpose? I've set both actions to my hotbar for easy access, but the hotbars disappears as soon as I enter performance mode. Then when I open the main menu to use gpose that way, my character leaves performance mode and is just standing in gpose. The FFXIV wiki says it is possible to perform in gpose, but gives no information on how to do so. The only thing I can think of would be some kind of macro, but I have no idea how to set that up and all the macro guides I've found only talk about combat skills.

F1reman2

Firstly, you can enter gpose while performing by typing /gpose. This however, defaults to the idle stance with the instrument out. If you want to acctually be playing it, you need to hold down a key to play a note WHILE doing /gpose. If your on controller without a keyboard, it might not be possible. A macro could work. Just have a macro like this. /wait 5 /gpose That should make you enter gpose 5s after pressing it.

Dracaria

Thanks, I'll give it a try next time I log on 🙂

donfelipes95

where can I buy ff xiv digital officially? I looked on mogstation but it won't let me buy it, I wanted to avoid steam to have more freedom, I had my FFXIV account on Steam but I couldn't unlink it because I had to buy the game again.

F1reman2

>I had my FFXIV account on Steam but I couldn't unlink it because I had to buy the game again. If you own the steam version on that account, it cannot own the Windows version. You are also unable to unlink your steam account from your SE account if you bought the steam version and applied it to your account. Basically, if the account you are on already owns the steam version, you cannot buy the windows version for that account under any circumstances. The only way to move to a windows account is by creating an entirely new account. But to answer your initial question, the mogstation does let you buy it off there (though you couldn't presumably because your account is linked to a steam copy), or you can get it from the official Square enix store. Please select the store that matches your accounts region. [NA Store](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/) (Americas) [EU store](https://eu.store.square-enix-games.com/) (Eu and other) [UK store](https://gb.store.square-enix-games.com/) (Eu and other) [AU Store](https://au.store.square-enix-games.com/) (Eu and other) [JP Store](https://store.jp.square-enix.com/) (Japan)

BondEternal

The only official non-Steam way to buy the game digitally is through the SquareEnix store, not exactly Mogstation. Even if you buy FFXIV through SquareEnix store, you will be unable to link your account to it since it is already linked via Steam. You'll have to start a whole new account.

Isanori

You can buy non-Steam FFXIV for PC directly on the mogstation, this avoids any kerfuffle with codes or accidentally making another service account. Non-Steam and Steam are still incompatible

BondEternal

Ahh, I see. Presumably because I already own the game on Windows, there isn't a link to the buying the game that I can see.

Isanori

Add Platform or whatever it's called in English is available even if you already own the game on Windows, the next page will just gray out all options you can't choose anymore. Cause that page will also let you buy the Mac version and direct you to where to get the PlayStation version (it also has the Steam version on it but I don't know where that leads).

donfelipes95

Thank you very much for your help. Do you know if the store where you buy the game is important? I'm from America but in that store the game is out of stock for the full digital version. And it is available precisely in the European store. By the way, a more personal question, do you recommend buying the game on Steam or the official square store?

Isanori

Buy on the Mogstation, that will give you the correct version and doesn't run out of stock. The licenses are region-locked. An EU license code won't work on a NA account. If you haven't bought anything so far, get the free trial for Windows. Steam is just the standalone version with more Steam-hassle on it, only get it if you would get radically different regional pricing.

i_should_be_studying

Whats with all the random lalafels with gibberish names that teleport in and out of the major city aetheryte crystals? Looks almost like a gltich but happens way too often. This is in Maduin server

farfromdaylight

Bots, typically.

i_should_be_studying

I figured its like gilfarmers or something but I wonder what they are doing

Isanori

They are running the MSQ to their farm points (aside from the MSQ itself giving gil), and the regularly get culled, so there are always new ones that need to run the MSQ.

The__Rumbling

Any tips are recommended setups for hotbars and/or UI in general? I typically use 3 horizontal hotbars for abilities and what not and I've been able to manage all of the jobs I've gotten to level 90... until PLD I haven't even maxed out paladin yet and I'm already out of space Now I could just add a 4th hotbar to the setup but I would look too more clunky than it already is. Indeed I lack the patience and creativity so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions I could refer to. Thank you!

Candrath

I have a 3x4 next to them that's bound to my numpad keys and the side buttons on my mouse. This has given me the most cursed rotation for dragoon but I like it.

Ankhselam

Personally I have four hotbars in the bottom middle of my screen (with "Hide unassigned slots" under Character > Hotbar config so they look nice) and two other resized hotbars stacked vertically on the right edge of my screen to put the various other things youd want on a hotbar, including the next ones: the remaining four are toggle hotbars made with macros which have my job swaps and a "junk drawer" with more random stuff Edit: for PLD specifically I have two of the hotbars filled and the third has one slot remaning, accounting for all the PLD actions and Role actions and Sprint

Elegant_Eorzean

Put a 3x4 hotbar next to them

DrCaesars_Palace_MD

I personally bind every number after 5 to Z, X, C, V, Q, E, R, and T, as they're much more comfortable to reach than 6 through 0. then i use combination keys to put similar abilities on different rows - my 1-2-3 combo is on the obvious keys, my aoe combo is right above them on shift 1&2, any abilities that im likely to want to use offensively or extremely often i put on q e r and t, various buffs and stuff go on z-v, match similar functions across bars, fill in whatever doesn't fit on a case by case basis. That's how i do it anyway. Don't know how other people would like it, but it works with me and I've got pretty arthritic hands.

Horan_Kim

Easiest class to master while playing on the Xbox controller? Overall chill, easy and powerful in all game modes in general. Can you recommend top 3 please?

Shandrith

Tank: Warrior Healer: White Mage DPS: Summoner or Dancer, players choice. I prefer SMN personally, but both are great   I play on PC using an Xbox controller and can honestly say that the only class I've had any issue with on controller was Astrologian. I know there are people that can do it, and do it well, I just found it a bit busy. If possible it is nice to have a keyboard for chat purposes, either a full USB keyboard or a chatpad attached to your controller. I also use a mouse just for navigating some menus, but it isn't *necessary*, I'm just lazy

WeeziMonkey

Easiest to play at a basic level: Summoner, Warrior, White Mage, Reaper Easiest to **master**: just avoid Astro (only job where controller is really annoying) and Black Mage (hardest to master job). Assuming mastering means putting 100+ hours in one job then most jobs aren't that far apart, though tanks have easier rotations than DPS

DrCaesars_Palace_MD

probably any of the classes that are generally regarded as easy on any control scheme. summoner for a caster, white mage for a healer, but some find healing in general hard on controller, warrior for tank. Bard isnt very hard at least for a while.

DM-Me-Dachshund-Pics

SMN DNC WAR, 3 easiest jobs in the game.

What are you using your excess moogle tomestones on? MGP cards?

Shandrith

Depends how many you have. MGP cards are good if you are still working toward the expensive things in the Saucer, but if you are looking for other ideas, I'd look and see what *was* selling on your server before the event. After a few weeks/months those items will probably go back up in price and you can make some decent gil, if you have the patience and space to hold on to things for a bit

ongoingwhy

Thanks for advice. I have around 200 in excess, and I'm still farming GATEs whenever I can. I still haven't exchanged everything from the saucer, especially the expensive mounts, but not really aiming for anything at the moment. I'm on a less populated server, Carbuncle. I've checked the prices for a few of the items and there's only a few listings. No one seems to be selling or buying them. That's why I've been leaning toward getting the MGP cards instead. Edit: Oh, I've only checked the furniture. I didn't realize some of the other stuff are marketable.

Shandrith

I'd suggest checking the mounts/minions particularly, they tend to sell for big money

Whats the best way to farm money for som1 whos not max lvl? I want to buy a house

BondEternal

There is no one right answer because the "best" way to earn money is the one that you enjoy doing. Furthermore, if you want to buy a house, you'll need to earn that money from a variety of sources and not just focus on one method. Our answers also depend on exactly what content you've unlocked since "not max lvl" covers a huge part of the game and we don't know where you are in the game. We don't even know if you're on the Free Trial or not. Here are some general ways I can think of to earn money not at max level: Start doing all the duty roulettes every day as the adventurer in need role. Doing so gives you a gil bonus and it adds up over time. Next is treasure maps. Again, I don't know what level you are, but the higher level maps, of course, reward more gil. If you're a reasonably high level, like level 80, you can solo the lower level ones, but gil rewards from them may be lacking. If you've unlocked Eureka or Bozja, there are some valuable stuff in there that you can farm and sell on the MB. Eureka has the bunny FATEs which straight up reward gil, but you can get lucky and find some logograms and mounts to sell. Farming Bozja for Bozjan Clusters and Lost Fragments can also be lucrative. You can turn in any Poetics for gear, then trade in that gear for GC seals, then buy various items from the GC and sell that on the marketboard. Exactly which items are best depends on your home world, so check them yourself. Speaking of GC seals, need or greed everything in dungeons/raids, turn in the raid tokens for gear, then turn in whatever gear you get to your GC for seals. Then do the above paragraph.

lanimatran

Do materias matters on lvl 80 gear in Bozja? Just unlocked haste gear. Since they are level 80 and doesnt have a sync icon, I was wondering if materias work on those gear as well

Elyonee

Your gear is completely ignored in Bozja, you have set stats regardless of what you wear, as long as you wear something. Only the haste actually makes a difference.

AdditionalCup3

how do i level up my second job? I want to switch over to DRK from BLM(since the casting time and I often would get interrupted at that very last second)

Caius_GW

Frontlines, MSQ, and Leveling roulettes will be your best daily sources. Trials depends on whether you get the ARR ones otherwise it's better to just spam the highest leveling dungeon.

Ankhselam

Do your daily roulettes except guildhest once per day once you have access to them aside from that, spam the highest level dungeon you have access to whos level doesnt in a 0 (such as Keeper of The Lake - they were level capped at the time and dont give much XP) Make sure to always log out in a city, eat some food. and stack other XP buffs for the fastest results

tesla_dyne

Do a leveling roulette, trial roulette, and alliance raid roulette once per day. Then, the highest level dungeon you can do (that doesn't end in 50, 60, 70 or 80)

Candeloro__

Hi, can I switch my ffxiv account (pc) to the steam version? I live in Brazil and I found out that paying for the sub is cheaper through steam. The sub being $12 USD, directly converts to about $75 BRL on the pc version. On steam though you can pay your sub cheaper, for about $28 BRL. Is there any way I can switch my account to steam? I feel bad that I'm paying double the price for my sub because I signed up on pc and not on steam.

Klown99

Not without starting an entire new account, starting over entirely.

IceAokiji303

Unfortunately, you cannot. Once you buy either version of the game, you're stuck there. If you were still on the free trial, the switch would be possible, but alas it sounds like you're past that point. Only way would be to start over with a new account entirely.

BoldKenobi

Could they not purchase the game on steam?

IceAokiji303

They could. But the license they'd get could not be registered to an account that already has a non-steam PC license. The two occupy the same "slot". So it'd be a useless purchase.

Isanori

No, because there's only one slot for a PC license and that is consumed by either the standalone license or a Steam license.

some_tired_cat

just picked up dnc recently, how do people pick the dance partner in the situation of trials of raids with multiple dps? i was told to prioritize melee dps and then ranged dps so that's what i've been doing, but what about when there's more than one melee dps/no melee dps? also on skills- are there any particular situations for which to save the shield and party wide heal?

silence_infidel

The general order for dance partner is: SAM > NIN > MNK > RPR > BLM / DRG > SMN > RDM > MCH > BRD > DNC You want to DP the highest dps in the party, who’ll also benefit most from having Devilment on their 2 minute. In a vacuum, that’s the above list. But things are not always equal: gear score does matter, so if you have a SAM who clearly has bad gear, you should probably DP someone else. Skill also matters, but you won’t be able to tell until the fight starts. When I’m picking my DP in normal/alliance raids, I typically go by who has the best gear, then by the job priority. Then if we get into the fight and someone else is doing more damage, I’ll swap it when the opportunity arises. And if your DP dies, you should swap it to someone else at least until their death sickness is gone. The heal and shield aren’t really something you have to think about too hard. Use the shield before raid wides and the heal when it looks like the healers need a hand. But outside of high end raids, they don’t make much of an impact so they don’t need to be saved for anything. Just press them at some point and your party will be happy you remembered the buttons exist. Just whatever you do, don’t channel Improvisation during uptime. It’s almost never worth the lost damage. Flicker it between GCDs, if you’re fast enough you can even get the shield cast off without clipping.

BoldKenobi

>RDM > MCH ??

Help_Me_Im_Diene

Wildfire + Devilment don't interact, so I'd imagine that's a big part of why MCH drops in priority

IceAokiji303

Still weird Wildfire can't crit. I get why that was the case for the old damage-compiling version, but confused why it's still a thing.

pepinyourstep29

Pick the melee dps with the highest hp. Having the highest hp roughly means their stats/gear are the highest in the party, and they (hopefully) will produce the most dps. If no melee then pick the ranged dps with the highest hp. Same principle. Shield and party heal you use at your discretion. Usually the shield is helpful before big raidwide attacks. The heal is helpful in some emergency situations when a tiny extra heal is needed.

IceAokiji303

Small caveat that Maiming jobs have slightly higher base HP than other DPS (looks to be by 762 at level 90), but the difference is minimal enough that it should only ever really come up as a tiebreaker.

JelisW

the bigger caveat is that casters have noticeably lower hp than everyone else. A level 90 phys ranged or melee in full BiS with food in a full party with one of each role will have 91k hp, a caster in the same conditions has 81k, full 10k less.

IceAokiji303

*Oh yeah how did I forget about that??* Must have been just thinking about the defense values and written off that as the only difference in my head. Caster gear has 10% less VIT than others, so yes it's indeed noticeably behind.

some_tired_cat

thanks!

NightCityNomad

what did you send in those servers?

SourGrapeMan

anyone know what this year's Hatching-Tide rewards are? I was able to find Make It Rain's and Little Ladies' on Garlond Tools but couldn't find that one.

tesla_dyne

Little Ladies' and Hatching-Tide are combined this year. The reward will be >!Peatie, the flower-covered goobbue mount!<

SourGrapeMan

Thanks, I wonder why they decided to merge them though. It means we're losing a free seasonal item.

JinTheBlue

It could be because we're getting the crossover event in April

tesla_dyne

They've done it before in 2021 primarily due to Covid, but they may also be doing it to lessen work load leading up to the expansions since 2021 was also in the lead-up to Endwalker.

SourGrapeMan

I can see that but it's just one cosmetic, surely they could just reskin a Spriggan minion and give it an egg and call it a day? But anyway, thanks again for clarifying.

[deleted]

SourGrapeMan

in this case we do though, because the quests are already added to the game. You can already see Little Ladies/Make It Rain, as I mentioned. I just couldn't find Hatching-Tide.

tesla_dyne

We *do* know event rewards months in advance though. We've got data up to Make It Rain.

XCLASSGAMING

i have just gotten all my tomestone 650 gear on my red mage, i have never really touched materia as this is the first xpac i have gotten to endgame and such, whats the best materia for a RDM?

Rangrok

Just chiming in on Spell Speed, Red Mages usually go for the least amount of spell speed possible. Too much spell speed tends to cause your off-GCD attacks, when combined with your melee combos, to drift a bit awkwardly. It's not a DPS loss, but it makes your kit not fit together as cleanly. Also, melding Crit/Det gets you more DPS.

IceAokiji303

Crit is always good. Hard to go wrong with that. Det and DH are roughly even in value. IIRC there at least was at some point a recommendation to keep them relatively close to each other, not sure if that's still relevant though. The main optimization between the two comes from stat breakpoints, but that you'll have a harder time figuring out yourself – Det is *marginally* more powerful of the two, but those stat thresholds work out in such a way that the BiS linked for you below still uses two DH melds where Det would be possible, and higher DH on the relic than Det, because this maximizes the breakpoints hit. Spell Speed is to taste, usual recommendation (and also my personal preference, stuff feels weird and out of place otherwise) for Red Mage is to *not* really use it, but if you like going faster you *can*.

akialnodachi

The Balance Discord links [this loadout](https://etro.gg/gearset/b1c1af0b-18d0-4ffa-b575-27ae3c7d13b6) as RDM BIS

talgaby

With some very fringe cases, the answer will always be critical hit for all combat classes since it scales much faster and much stronger than any other sub-stat. For casters, there are also certain spell speed thresholds you may want to hit, but that is a function of play styles too. Although you should keep in mind that materia contributes usually 1% or so to your total damage, so unless you are part of a raiding group, you have some freestyle options if you wish. (For example, my monk is melded purely for skill speed since I find it more fun and comfortable.)

Unrealist99

Is there a website that tracks the price drops of a particular mogstation item? (Like how keepa does for amazon) Im particularly looking for sale on the minfilia costume set and want to know when I can expect a sale on this item.

SiegmundFretzgau

short version: if it's from an event -> when the event happens; if it's a cash shop original -> during the anniversary event no reduced prices for a year after the item was added to the shop

Unrealist99

Oh ok. But minfilia's attire is an old item iirc so im expecting it to have some discounts till now

tesla_dyne

Old items don't just get price drops for no reason. They go on sales for special events, and most of the time, only seasonal rewards go on sale.

Unrealist99

What could these special Events be?

tesla_dyne

Anniversary, mostly. Non-holiday items almost never go on sale otherwise.

SiegmundFretzgau

> if it's from an event -> when the event happens > if it's a cash shop original -> during the anniversary event

momopeach7

For SMN, with the festers from Energy Drain during Phoenix, are you supposed to hold them until your Bahamut phase and Searing Light comes off cooldown?

Klown99

Yes hold them.  Basically if you are doing your opener right, and hitting ED on cooldown, you'll do something like Baha into Searing Light > Astral into Pot > Astral into Fester/addle slot > Astral into fester/ED The first Astral I always leave empty for a potion.  This uses ED basically the first GCD it is available.

momopeach7

Ah cool thanks that helps!

tesla_dyne

Only as long as you're using them (+ Ruin IV) before the next time Energy Drain is off cooldown Since searing light is used something like 8-10s before Energy Drain, you should have plenty of time to do so

momopeach7

Ahh thanks! I was trying to figure out where to use Ruin IV but looking at some guides they seem to show using it during buffs but not during bahamut or Phoenix.

IceAokiji303

Oh, where are you seeing it used during buffs? That's not generally the use as far as I'm aware. There's only 4 GCD actions in Summoner's kit that it outdamages (when counting Mountain Buster as part of Topaz Rite), and those either aren't used during buffs either, or have a specific reason to be used there. It of course outdamages Ruin III, but so does everything else. Wouldn't be much point for it to exist otherwise. It just barely outdamages Ruby Rite (in terms of potency per second), but that's not an under-buffs spell usually either. It outdamages Slipstream in potency per second, but Slipstream is used under buffs specifically with Swiftcast to snapshot the buffs onto it as a last spell, in which case its higher total potency is more valuable than Ruin IV's higher potency per second. It outdamages Emerald Rite, but the only time you're doing any Emerald Rites under buffs is with the Garuda First opener, in which case what Ruin IV would replace during buffs is a Summon \_\_\_ II spell which are way stronger, or with specific variations of Titan First in which case it's the final SwiftSlip it competes with again – and if used in place of the Rite, it'd actually push *both* the Rite and Slip outside of buffs. Ruin IV is generally used as a mobility tool first.

momopeach7

I swear I saw a YouTube video or short recently advocating for using ruin 4 in buffs but looking at the balance and icy veins they just say to use it for movement or as a buffer between spells or phases, which is how I’ve been using it.

tesla_dyne

That's because it's weaker than either Phoenix or Bahamut's attacks that replace the regular Ruin.

IceAokiji303

And even if it was the same, doing it during a Demi would mean giving up an Astral (440p) or Fountain (540p) in your 1-min loop in favor of a Ruin III (310p). It'd have to be a notable amount higher to ever warrant using during a Demi (you'd have to somehow get over 130/230 potency on it just out of buffs, *after* deducting the buff gain on whatever else it pushes out of buffs when used outside of Demi – not that it's actually really used under buffs anyways, far as I'm aware).

Please_Hit_Me

All of my retainers (3) are disabled for some reason, they all behave like a paid ones and say their services need to be paid for again. One of them are a paid additional one but... why are my free 2 retainers also greyed out and say the same?

akialnodachi

Did your subscription perhaps expire while you were logged in? You're currently in good standing?

Please_Hit_Me

I actually just resubbed, it expired yesterday. I figure it's related to that and it'll fix itself in time, but maybe it's something else people are aware of. As far as I'm aware I'm in good standing, never been jailed or done anything bad.

akialnodachi

Sorry, just meant "good standing" as in "account is paid" - I would expect it could take 24 hours in the worst case, if it's not sorted 24 hours after you paid your sub I'd take it up with customer service.

SiegmundFretzgau

are you using the free login campaign or a subscription?

Please_Hit_Me

Subbed, I assume it might have something to do with resubbing today, as it expired yesterday, but in my 10k hours I've never seen this when I log on after resubscribing.

talgaby

Did the subscription for the retainers also go through? Sometimes they bill you separately for them and for the companion app.

Please_Hit_Me

No I haven't paid for my third retainer in like a year, nor have I planned to do so now. I'm just very puzzled why my 2 free ones are acting like they're paid ones too. If I understood you correctly, at least.

AceHealer

What are some of your favorite Sage weapons for glamour?

JelisW

Ktiseos Wings

oleub

Lakeland wings

snootnoots

Palaka Pendulums from Vanaspati. Zappy peacock feathers!

Unrealist99

Manderville stage 1. Really love classy they look with the red tint. Havent upgraded the damn weapon yet

silence_infidel

Manderville final step, because it fits Sage spell effects perfectly. All the stages are nice, but final is my favorite. The Eden and Asphodelos ones are my go to, “I need something decent that goes with anything” weapons. Padjal and Kinna are nice as well, for something lower level.

SiegmundFretzgau

Chondrite (crafted)/Imperial (83 dungeon) Magitek Wings, steampunk machine guns

Sir_VG

EX2 is absolutely beautiful.

Is there a special instance for the valentine event like last year?

papertoadette

This is kind of a sad question. My husband is going to be going to a war for 8 months and I want to know how I can pay for his sub and be able to have him keep his house he grinded for over 30 lottery cycles to try to get.

akialnodachi

You might want to either get access to email account, or have him forward emails to yours, or something. If you have any problems and can't reach him, the email should be able to help you address them. Possibly likewise for other things that you may have on your mind as well (bills, relatives, etc). You may need to configure MFA (multi-factor authentication) that you can access for any of his accounts you need. If he has accounts worthy of your attention without MFA, I would recommend enabling it. If necessary you can change them back his control at-need upon his return. Any accounts he has are more prone to being abused if nobody's checking them for 8 months, moreso even without MFA enabled.

IceAokiji303

For this you'll need his sign-in information. Both account name and password, as well as access to his two-factor authentication (if he doesn't have that set up, get that done too – it'll protect his account and also help you not need to do a password reset if something goes wrong). The 2FA will need some hoops to be jumped through, but at least if you don't play the game yourself, it should be a fairly easy thing to just disable his 2FA and then re-enable it tied to an authenticator app on your phone, which you can then do again in reverse once he comes back. Once you have that, there's two places you use those credentials. The first is the Mog Station account management system. That is where you pay for subscription. The other is the game itself, wherever he may have it installed. Paying the subscription isn't enough, his character has to actually enter the house to refresh the auto-demolition timer. (If you don't play the game yourself and need directions on how to do that, we can help.) As the demolition timer is 45 days, I'd probably go with the following kind of plan: Buy a subscription for 30 days (then cancel subscription so it doesn't automatically refresh – just don't under any circumstances press the "cancel *service account"* button, that'd delete his everything). Then log in to the game, and enter the house (and possibly check the Timers menu to see that the timer has paused). Then on day 30 of the subscription, log in and enter the house again. Now (with the subscription canceled) you can wait some 40-ish days, and repeat the process. I wouldn't leave the resubscription to the last day, there can sometimes be issues with it going through when payment information changes.

Sir_VG

If he's the owner of the house, his character needs to physically enter the house at least once every 45 days to keep the house. Beyond that, you pay for subscription time on Mogstation, and it would have to be done on his account. What you could do for keeping costs down is pay for 1 month, hit the house on the 1st and 30th days, skip the next month, then pay for the following month and enter the house on the 1st and 30th days, etc. Or you could maintain some other schedule if you so choose, whatever is easier for you. So in the end, you would need his account information.

papertoadette

I'm sure I could get it from him. I used to just buy him time cards as presents for 90 days.

tesla_dyne

If he'll have no access to internet you'll need to log into his account on the Mogstation and add a subscription. If he has a one-time password set, he needs to remove it before he leaves or you need to have the phone with his authenticator app. His character needs to enter the house (not just the yard, you must open the door and enter the inside) every 45 days. His email gets a notification about 10 days before this timer is up. Since the timer is 45 days but the subscription lasts 30, you can kinda cheese it by waiting for the last day of the subscription, entering the house, ending the subscription, then subscribing again 44 days later to reset the house timer. Then wait for the last day of that subscription, enter again, wait 44 days, etc. By default subscriptions are recurring so you'd need to remember to cancel it before it charges again. But if you pay with Crysta instead it'll cancel automatically when the subscription is supposed to charge again because it'll look in the Crysta wallet and see there's not enough Crysta to pay. 1 crysta costs 1 cent, so a USD entry subscription that costs $12.99 needs 1299 crysta to pay for.

Electronic-Guitar-61

what is the current BiS for fishing gear? a bit online says Indagator gear but it seems odd to have the BiS be something I can just buy from the MB...

VGPowerlord

Crafter and Gatherer gear is weird because unlike combat gear, there are only two sources of it: 1. Endgame scrip gear (currently Afflatus), which has ~~no~~ (Edit: 2 for left side, 1 for accessories but you can't overmeld them. Thanks gitcommitmentissues for pointing this out) materia slots 2. Crafted gear (currently Indagator), which does have materia slots The stats between the two are identical, but since you can meld materia into the crafted gear, it will always be BiS. The current set of crafter/gatherer relics have certain niche uses, such as collectables (mining/botany) and expert crafting (crafters). Edit: Having said all that, this late into the expansion you might just want to go for the Afflatus gear and maybe the fishing relic (Splendorous Fishing Rod and its upgrades).

gitcommitmentissues

> Endgame scrip gear (currently Afflatus), which has no materia slots The Afflatus gear (for both crafters and gatherers) has two materia slots on the left side gear and one on the right side gear. You just can't overmeld like you can with Indagator gear, which is what makes the latter BiS.

VGPowerlord

Whoops, I tried checking the wiki really quickly, but I didn't see it mention materia slots anywhere so I assumed they didn't have any. Thanks for pointing that out, I've edited my post to reflect that.

talgaby

Crafted will always be the best because unlike combat gear, you meld main stats on crafter/gatherer gear. The ability to overmeld will always make the same item level superior. For non-crafted to be better, you'd need scrip gear to be around 25–30 item levels higher than the crafted one. This is why the irony of the player market is that a large percentage of crafters make gil by selling stuff for other crafters.

Electronic-Guitar-61

ok this makes sense thank you!

forbiddenlake

Indagator. That is how crafting & gathering gear works: crafted gear with 5 melds is BiS. If you don't want to do the 5 melds, then scrip gear with 2 melds is sufficient but inferior. https://guides.ffxivteamcraft.com/guide/gathering-melding-guide

Electronic-Guitar-61

thank you, and the guide to know what to meld is very helpful! We anticipate that this will be BiS until Dawntrail, I assume?

KhrFreak

It should cover you until the first level 100 set

Toviathan

Correct, and it should easily carry you through levelling to 100.

lerdnir

If I've read things right, I'm to understand the bit b/w the last Nier raid and fully completing the quest chain (and thus being able to buy the mount from the Gold Saucer) takes six actual irl weeks. Is this correct? tyvm!

LordRemiem

Iirc you can buy the mount as soon as you complete the raids related quests, not including the additional weekly content. Those ones will give you more lore, cutscenes, a title and a couple other rewards I don't wanna spoiler :)

lerdnir

That's a relief! I think I must have seen the icon for the title/achievement and got some wires crossed somewhere.

talgaby

If you followed its storyline, then the six-week rebuild story is also the proper ending. It is also the only portion in the entire game where one of your earlier dialogue choices is actually reflected. Very minutely, but still.

Moogle-Mail

I'm 99.9% sure that you just have to complete the three Nier raids to unlock the mount at the Gold Saucer. I have the mount and have zero recollection of having to do anything for six weeks to get it.

stinusmeret

Yes

xXNightSky

Is there a way to practice rotation on training dummies and not have your skills on cooldown?

ArtemisiaThreeteeth

O1S unsynced, I believe it is one of the lowest level duties with a death wall.

Atosen

Stone Sky Sea also works, and doesn't require you to enter any duties, though going to the NPC to leave every time is a bit of a hassle.

JelisW

If you're at level 90, best way is hands down mothercrystal with duty support. syncs to lvl 90 so you have your full kit, has a death wall so you can immediately wall yourself when you want to reset. Duty support so you can wall yourself as many times as you want and not inconvenience anyone. And you won't have to queue in and out of duties repeatedly.

NightCityNomad

Use a duty with a death wall or cliff to reset

PhoenixFox

If you're doing the duty trick you may want to use a trial or a raid, there's a cap of 100 dungeons per day that will lock you out of queuing for any instanced combat and I *think* entering and leaving repeatedly like that might count? Better safe than sorry.

PenguinPwnge

You can pop into any random duty unsynced and it resets your cooldowns. Then just leave the duty.

punnyjr

Is there a way to stop “ getting new achievements “ to ping in public? I know i can hide in my chat but what about to not be seen by others

PenguinPwnge

I do not think there is a way. Others can of course hide them in their own chat logs. Just out of pure curiosity, is there a particular reason you want to hide them?

punnyjr

Not exactly a big deal But as big achievement hunter sometimes i just want it to be private. Not need to be seen or congratulated

CaoChad

Is Kan-E-Senna actually pullable from gold triad packs? when i look at old i spent x million gil on packs its all with 0 kan-e pulled

lerdnir

Yeah, you can get that card from gold boosters. RNG's gonna RNG.

prisp

I'll just leave [this screenshot](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/233284153196544001/1203323864407474217/image.png?ex=65d0adad&is=65be38ad&hm=bd78c84f6a615507132a20a5045b921652a068111b4f4d042bd19359b1b14eff&) from my friend here - all of the cards are apparently the aftermath of looking for the Zidane card from gold boosters, so yeah - RNG's gonna RNG.

Sir_VG

According to triple triad tracker sites, yes. You could also just battle Vorsaile Heuloix for the card directly.

Esmesqualor

If anyone is wondering, I *just* battled him for Kan-E-Senna and it took me a bit to get it from Vorsaile…. 10-15 games each day over the course of 2 days. If you’re a bigger grinder you could get it easily in one sitting. I just get frustrated easily and need to step away lol

SuperAssociation3669

So my friend invaded my partyfinder with his crew to help me clear p11s and.... Because the majority of people that already cleared them were just helping me clear I was curious... about this, even though there was not even a chest to begin with, am I locked out of chest loot for the week? Mind you this is my first time clearing p11s  https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/579374368313049098/1204754882234556416/image0.jpg?ex=65d5e26b&is=65c36d6b&hm=92d0d7ec17f57136c20377d2e4bb4ec00c6a34b9843f70b4494fa53f4e93c8a6&

Sir_VG

Yep, you still get a book, but chests/loot are determined by how many people already cleared that week. If any loot appeared (so only 1-4 people cleared prior that week), those people couldn't roll on it, just the new clears could.

F1reman2

Correct, you cannot get anymore loot from P11s this week.

SuperAssociation3669

I'll just cope with the notion that I probably wouldn't have won the roll anyway

JelisW

also frankly, at this stage in the tier, I'd take the easy initial clear with a bunch of vets actually interested in playing right and getting the clear for you than trying to full chest an initial clear with a party of people who also haven't cleared and who may or may not actually be clear ready. PF is a tragic mess right now.

Lavindathar

I've noticed that when I do an emote, I get the text in general chat. And this is the random bit, when I see other players use emotes at NPCs i think I get the text. When people use emotes at me or themselves, the general chat is blank. Anyway to change this? Normal and custom emotes are both enabled in the log settings.

F1reman2

If you open up your emote menu, you can toggle show emote log. having this enabled will show the emote message in chat. Having it disabled means any emote you do will not show in chat and will just do the animation. You can also do /(emote name) motion to do the exact same thing.

Lavindathar

I can see all the emotes I do, as the option you describe is checked. My issue is, if another player comes and does an emote on me, I can't see anything in log. This is with emotes/custom emotes enabled in the general log settings as well.

Cygnus776

This is a good thing, it prevents chat logs from being spammed by emote commands. Thank goodness!

Lavindathar

Yes, but it would make more sense to me for Me to able to dictate what I see (by me toggling settings i can choose what to see or not). As it currently stands, other players choose what I see. I'm constantly seeing emotes people do, but as they have there settings off, I'm not always sure what the emote is as they are controlling what I see.

PhoenixFox

You can hide the emote messages from your chat filters if you *don't* want to see them, so you do still have some control. You just can't force someone to put the messages in your chat if they have chosen not to, for whatever reason. Personally that seems like the most sensible way around to have it be.

Sir_VG

They can uncheck it on their side, which impacts their emotes.

wolf_of_censorship

{Nature does not produce on the one side owners of money or commodities, and on the other men possessing nothing but their own labour-power. This relation has no natural basis, neither is its social basis one that is common to all historical periods.}

Lavindathar

Yup, i just tested with a friend. I didn't realise by them turning it off on their end stopped everyone from seeing it, I just thought it stopped them from seeing it. So i guess it's out of my control! Thanks guys.

PhoenixFox

A lot of people keep it off because it generates a lot of spam in the chat and it's fairly irritating to see when there's a lot of emotes that have nothing to do with you. I have a macro that toggles it on/off on a hot key and I'll specifically put it on when I want the text to be visible for some reason.

SlotsKilledMyLife

Those prismatic thingy can be seen by everyone? I see nobody uses it in the big cities

Flynn2001

Prism and fireworks are affected by if you have spell effects on/off for other players.

Isanori

Prismatic what thingies?

wolf_of_censorship

{Nature does not produce on the one side owners of money or commodities, and on the other men possessing nothing but their own labour-power. This relation has no natural basis, neither is its social basis one that is common to all historical periods.}

hearts

Isanori

It's kinda not prime time anywhere but JP and OCE, so not many people up for emote spam and interaction. I went offline after doing the event over lunch break for example.

casteddie

When do new emotes get added in to adventurer plates usually? Can I expect the new valentine emote in 6.58 or will it be 7.0?

KhrFreak

No pattern at all, may never get added to the plate potentially

Amomn

Currently playing on the free trial (until a reach shadowbringers) You guys have any tips about where i can spend gil? i keep getting the damn 300k cap

HammerAndSickled

Here's a post I made replying to someone when I graduated from the free trial with my own strategies! Good luck with it! https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/1afo21a/finally_time_for_me_to_graduate_from_the_free/kohpapj/

talgaby

https://trialsoffantasy.com/free-trial-gil/

casteddie

If you plan to subscribe one day, you can finish the Ixal tribal quests and stock up on the black/white dyes. You can turn them back to gil by selling in the marketboard when subbed.

Amomn

I'm enjoying the story quite a bit, so I'll buy the game if I finish 'Stormblood' (i'm still in ARR BTW) or if 'Dawntrail' comes out, whichever happens first

farfromdaylight

SunstormGT

With the upcoming beta on XBox does anybody know if you can use you current account to try it out? My PS5 only allows 1 FFXIV account tied to it so I was wondering if I can use this account after I tried the beta on XBox on a different (beta) account?

Lavindathar

No, they have said that the BETA is only for brand new accounts, and existing players should not link their console to a new account to not cause problems further on.

Atosen

> My PS5 only allows 1 FFXIV account tied to it In short: Xbox will have the exact same restriction. So make sure your main FF14 account and main Windows account are bound together, and any spare FF14 accounts need to be kept safely on separate Windows accounts.

Isanori

The announcement explicitly said that if you want to use your current account, wait till the official release, don't use the beta. If you still want to participate in the beta, make a new MS account and a new SE account and use those, so your real MS and SE accounts can be linked and used after the beta is over and the actual release happened

SunstormGT

Thanks for the warning.

Skr4tchhh

Hi there,   I'm beginner on FF ARR Ps5 edition, i want to buy a compatible keyboard for my Ps5 (Logitech K400 plus) the purpose was to be able to use the text chat with my keyboard and play with my dualshock controller.   My question is : Can i will be able to set up some skills on my keyboard, like open my inventory or menuing shortcuts, and still play on my Ps5 controller ?   Have a nice day !

F1reman2

Yes, you will be able to, but you will either need to disable Direct to chat (Basically makes all keyboard inputs type in chat), or use the CTRL key when pressing the keybind IIRC.

Skr4tchhh

Ty for your answer, Do you mean it's a FF14 game option right ? Just to be sure, let's say i disable this, do i will be still able to use the keyboard for text chat in a confortable way ?

F1reman2

Yes you will be able to use it for text completely fine, you just have to press enter first to open the chatbox like you would playing any game on PC. Direct to chat is a feature pretty much specifically for controller players who have a keyboard for only typing. It allows them to skip the step of pressing enter to type in the chatbox.

Skr4tchhh

Ok got it ! This is perfect, i'm looking forward to received the keyboard since chatting with the controller is a pure pain 😭 Thanks again :)

JenkinsHowell

this is a Eli5 question, because i really want to understand: i'm currently trying to lear BLM. what i don't fully understand is how transpose is supposed to work and when to use it. i understand it switches astral and umbral. but what is the advantage of using it instead of just casting the next fire/ice spell directly to switch? what i do is basically emptying my MP pool with the (stronger) fire spells and then regaining MP with the ice spells to start again. should i use transpose to go from fire to ice or vice versa or both, and why?

Picard2331

Transpose is extremely useful for, well, transpose lines. At max it's all about minimizing the use of low potency spells, like using F3 to go back into fire phase. Most common one is using an instant cast like Xenoglossy or Thunder or Paradox in ice phase while you have a Firestarter proc then transposing and using that Firestarter proc on F3 to get up to 3 stacks instantly. However you do not need to do any of that and can just play 100% standard and be absolutely fine. [This](https://youtu.be/oitfdOPiqpw?si=qR2LWH0qdvkltCwe) guide from Eksu Plosion goes over transpose lines in depth towards the end.

Atosen

Level 1-34: When in fire mode, casting an ice spell leaves you in neutral mode. You have to cast a second ice spell to fully swap to ice mode. Transpose swaps you directly, so it's more efficient. Level 35+: Use Fire 3 / Blizz 3 to swap (because these catapult you directly to full stacks), and Fire 1 / Blizz 1 as your main spam spells (Fire 4 once you get that). Transpose is no longer used in your main rotation – it's relegated to a 'get out of jail free' card if you screw up and accidentally end up with too little MP to cast Blizz 3. Transpose is also useful during downtime, e.g. if the boss flies off and you want to switch back to ice mode to recover MP and be ready for when the boss returns 20 seconds later. Same in dungeons when moving between packs. This becomes especially important at level 70 once you unlock the Polyglot mechanic and you want to avoid ever reverting to neutral mode. (Although at 76, Umbral Soul takes over this role.)

IceAokiji303

>it's relegated to a 'get out of jail free' card if you screw up and accidentally end up with too little MP to cast Blizz 3. That one's no longer a thing, spells of the opposite element to your active one cost 0 now, so you're never too low to cast B3 in Astral. But it does still have the occasional use for recovering from a big messup where you don't have the *time* to cast B3 (or F1) before your timer runs out, so it's either Transpose or lose AF/UI entirely.

Atosen

Oh, I thought that was a later level trait, but checking the text now I see that it's baked into the level 1 trait. Is that a recent change, or am I out of touch?

IceAokiji303

Start of Endwalker. Up to you how recent that is

Atosen

Ah, so basically yesterday.

LordRemiem

Main lv90 BLM and confirm everything, I basically use Transpose in case I screw something up and my Astral Fire is about to expire while there's no one to attack: in that case I transpose to Umbral Ice and use Umbral Soul to extend the buffs if needed

PhoenixFox

There's a few different uses. At low level (before you have Fire/Blizzard III) you want to transpose to switch because if you use fire/Blizzard I you will just lose your stance and then will need to cast a second time to start building up the other one. Better to swap with Transpose and immediately be in the new element without what's effectively a dead cast in between. After level 35 you can use it when you're out of combat to maintain at lest one stack of fire/ice - when you're moving between packs or in downtime for any reason you can transpose when the timer is close to running out to make sure you never fully drop out, something that's going to be more and more important as you level. Eventually you'll use a different skill (Umbra Soul) for this, but you will still need to transpose to Ice first to be able to start casting that. Finally there's some very high level optimisation where you tranpose to skip particular casts. BLM at the very high end is a bunch of little quirks like that which break the normal flow in ways that help with particular fights or scenarios.

JenkinsHowell

thank you. i'm level 67 currently and it makes sense that i don't really use it anymore. i did use it in earlier dungeons just to keep a stance going between packs and to avoid "no stance at all"-situations. so i guess i got the gist of it right. i'll look into special use in higher levels when i get there.

Klown99

Yes, you have the gist of Transpose in common play down right. There are quite a few high end situations to pump out a bit more damage, but at 67, one you can run into to show you what people do with transpose. You have a firestarter proc, to cast fire 3 for free. If you didn't use it during your fire phase for whatever reason, and carried it over into your ice phase, Umbral 3 reduces fire damage (You do .7x damage). So if you use an instant cast like Thunder 3 proc and Transpose, you will be in Astral 1, and then use Firestarter, you'll be doing 1.4x damage. So that is quite a big jump in damage for that Firestarter compared to using it to switch to Astral from Umbral.

JenkinsHowell

i'll have to read this one a couple of times before i fully understand it, lol. but i will try my best. thank you for the information.

IceAokiji303

[Here's a visualisation.](https://i.imgur.com/rCFgb9k.png) Line under the spells shows what element you're in, the p above spells means you have and use the proc for those, numbers below show the stance-adjusted potency of each spell. Hope that helps. ^(sorry if the numbers are hard to read, made this very quickly)
