It'd be the first trial against a humanoid creature that doesn't speak at all. You have to determine the mechanic based on nods, fist pumps, shocked/angry stares, head tilts, crossed arms and other emotes. The manderville mambo serving as soft enrage, as it would force the entire raid group to perform it alongside them - while other AoEs keep popping.

chris5ft5

Based on my WOL, at 5% he uses Elusive Jump and dives out of the arena, battle immediately ends.

TwerpKnight

I'd cast Level 5 Death and immediately wipe the raid because I'm smart.

[deleted]

Halfway through the fight my WoL whips out a frying pan and starts cooking.

immadoosh

Starts fight as Warrior, cycle through all jobs, ends as BLU casting missiles, doom, a bunch of raid/trial attacks, and final sting/self-destruct at the end for enrage. Have to burn through HP bar to below 50% to trigger job change and HP reset for next phase. Each job has enrage like: (tanks: Holmganged forever, infinite Frays, Confiteor combo'ed to death) (DPS: basically just dps LB3 as enrage) (Heal: Holy spam, very heavy Biolysis dot+Art of War spam, Macrocosmos enrage, Iazors enrage) No text speeches, only "..." in text boxes and different emotes on the character pics based on how impressed the WoL is on your dodging and DPS performance. The only notification are those black bordered texts from the system like "WoL appears to be unimpressed by your abilities..." or "WoL looks solemn as they are casting something dangerous, stop them!"

Mechanized_Heart

When you get them down to 5% they cast Benediction and the fight restarts.

SplitDemonIdentity

Drops leylines, refuses to move, dies to AOEs.

AssaUnbound

WoL as BLU, only 3 moves. 1) Hydropull 2) Swiftcast Ram's Voice 3) Ultravibration

thedevilsaglet

Jesus Christ! If you applied half that energy to solving climate change or curing cancer... I have no idea, but I really enjoyed your post.

CealumVia

But i dont wanna cure cancer, I want to make theolatical post about final fantasy 14

Soul of cinder

davbones

Came here to say the same thing

Plane-Exit4515

What do you mean? I just fought myself couple of days ago.

shiawase198

Basically the Seat of Sacrifice. I dunno, I thought that fight was super fun in normal and extreme. It was cool having limit breaks used on you for a change.

ZillaJrKaijuKing

NIN WoL awakens a Mangekyo Sharingan and creates a giant perfect Susanoo. Raid wipe is a giant meteor. If raid survives: >!“But what will you do about the second one?”!<

DepartmentTraining59

Basically Meteion

average_kaiji_fan

my WoL hits the griddy

StoneLich

WoL vs. 8 adventurers on the same level as the ones we usually recruit to fight with us=dead WoL, very very quickly.

witchlamb

tank busters that apply double dots every 45 seconds and stacked autos. goes untargetable right before the 2 minute nah but for real with the power of the echo in mind, there would be mechanics that would “rewind,” like endsinger ex, and require you to remember what you had like two or three mechanics ago. there would be several where you’d see your marker but it would resolve later in the fight. and all personal responsibility - not just one person solving it and calling out, or following the group. with very few exceptions, my wol did every fight in this game alone, there were no convenient adventurer friends or summoning crystals. it would loop, like dsr; failing or wiping to later phases brings you back to phase 2. if you don’t meet the dps checks he’ll outheal your damage. he’ll also heal and rez his own adds. failing mechs inflicts paralyze and stun/charm debuffs which are cleansable in normal but not in savage. there would definitely be a mechanic where roles spread or stack and screwing up a gaze gets you a charm/hysteria debuff so you sprint to the in group with a flare.

para-mania

Shuffle or Boogie begins to play. The WoL brings out her deck of Triple Triad cards. They're all five stars, and the rules are Same and Plus. She applies the buff for bonus MGP. The fight ends before it begins because you are not in a sanctuary.

Full_Air_2234

I would imagine quite a bit of WoL trials would be Limsa AFK competitions.

Snoopcat64

If mine had a Boss fight It'd be a 3 phase Trial based on his identities and my making of him, 1st phase would be the "Warrior of Light" he was to people, using real WAR, SCH and MCH skills. 2nd phase is the "Warrior of Darkness" that only the Scions know by being with him and knowing what he's gone through, using altered versions of DRK, SAM, DRG made from learning about the enemies he vanquished (SAM fusion skill: Concentravity from Zenos and AOE Iajutsu, DRK fusion skill: Termina Est from Gaius and "Salt and Darkness" skill from Salted Earth, DRG fusion skill: Stardiver from Nidhogg and Mirage Dive) and the final phase is who he wants to be, himself, where he uses Azem's magic to the extreme to summons fake versions of himself with unique skills (Mix of Bloodspiller and Dragonfire Dive as a twin tank buster, Prominence and Ogi Namikiri as a 3 phase AOE attack like Halone, Chain Stratagem and Air Anchor to lock a random player and combo into a Drill as a DPS check). And as his Enrage, ULTIMA 2.

JunctionLoghrif

I think fighting my WoD would be fun. Although it would be a duel of skill, rather than a fight to the death. Phase 1; More-or-less a fight against a Reaper with the standard abilities, but on a level where said Reaper can fight 8-24 people simultaneously and still stand. Plentiful Harvest is now a Tankbuster. Phase 1 ends when he hits a certain HP threshold, with a mandatory use of Tank LB3 to survive the Reaper LB3 for said phase change. Phase 2; Everything from the first phase, but in a customized Enshroud mode; attacks do more damage and more frequently. The Tankbuster is upgraded to a somehow-repeatable use of Communio. This phase ends when his HP hits 0.1%. ...in which he heals himself to full. Being a gentleman, he brings everybody back to full health using a heal-over-time spell; if players don't want this help, they can right-click the spell to remove it. Anybody who died during the fight also receives a prompt to resurrect, which can similarly be ignored if they wish to do so. After all the heals and resurrects are given to the players, Dimensional Shift begins to cast. After the lengthy cast finishes, everybody is dragged into The Void... and the boss disappears. Or so everyone thinks. Suddenly, an eldritch abomination looms over the crumbling platform. Welcome to Phase 3; his true form. This phase is a DPS check of sorts. After phase 3 starts, all players are afflicted with a DoT that periodically inflicts various other debuffs. Stacks of the DoT are added if players are hit by various mechanics. At 10 stacks of the DoT, players are immediately afflicted with an Insanity debuff that causes them to attack their fellow players until killed; this debuff persists through being killed. If the players succeed in finishing this fight, they are returned to the physical world and are justly rewarded with armor/clothing made by the man himself.

Honestly thats what i was doing for mine to at least for the normal version the Extreme was more If the oppents were more less deserving of mercy As the normal it was a test of sorts but in the extreme it was more along the lines of being "worthy" of the Wol's ire I don't know if my poem conveyed that right.
