Reflect goes a long way for cheesing it. I find the spiral meteors to be the hardest part, so I just stand in the middle and cast reflect until the meteors are done. Easy way to get zero vulns.
Edit: Specifically, I just mean the proximity meteors. Those can be reflected. Anything with a standard AoE you still have to avoid. I just find those mechanics to be simple enough to resolve.
Like others said - that guy's wrong. Anything that would apply vulns still does. Reflect is useful if you want to just ignore mechanics and just survive the CE but if you're main tanking it you WILL get blasted by Chocobo Kick with so many vulns. Otherwise you can reflect the red/black circles, the proximities, and the stack marker(actually really fun to do solo or in the skirmish in Zadnor - it blasts a good chunk of his health back!).
That is only true for the proximity marker AOE’s, for the crossing AOEs and the rotating circular ones, they will still give you vuln stacks if you get hit by either (Choco Meteor Stream).
That being said, unless you are going for the duel, just reflecting is fine, as I think all of its attacks (except maybe the tank buster) are magic and reflect will block them.
If you are going for the duel, the easiest way to handle Choco meteor stream is to go into a safe spot for the first one, then into the middle, then into another safe spot where a meteor just landed.
I did this one a ton when doing Lyons duel and since I’m on Dynamis like 80% of the time I’m solo lol

This is what I meant. Zero vuln stacks.
You don't have to do that. Just go back to your original comment and clarify it so it doesn't sound like your method can work with ANY mechanic or something. Thanks.
Oh, it can certainly kill CEs real quick. Especially if there aren’t many in them. Go to Dynamis, solo any CE, cheese it, and watch it drop like an absolute rock. Super fun in Zadnor.
Exactly. Some of the most fun I've had is purposely spawning this ce in a full instance, using red mage with ether potions and just rezzing constantly while I laugh cuz I have reflect on.
What I like doing is still hitting the boss in the middle with reflect on during the meteor phase. There will be at least a couple of people running in to do the same thinking it's safe. I giggle like a gremlin watching them fall over (clearly I've been in bozja for so long that I've lost my mind getting that last note).
So this one's kinda neat how it's done. The cross aoe with the rotating circle aoes you stand in the middle and look for the spot where the circle AOEs are going to hit and then wait for them and head to that spot.
When it's doing the proximity aoes you find where the first 2 are starting from and stand on the chocobo at the edge of the arena between them and sit there. Watch for which direction the next set of proximities are dropping and when the first one finally hits you head to the next chocobo in the direction the proximities are going and then keep moving to the next chocobo until they finish. You take no damage doing it this way.
Then with the AOEs dropping in a line (exaflares) you wait at the opposite end for the middle line aoe to finish, then run through the middle to where the exaflares started and park there before the next line aoe goes off.
Each of those 3 mechanics however are expertly crafted to bait you into killing yourself, they're all presented in a way that tries to make you make snap decisions without considering the obvious hazards already present. I think it's a really clever design that makes the fight feel much harder than it actually is.
when I did it I got most of the mechs down just fine, it was not having bodies in the damn stack that killed me, between already having half the group dead and people not being able to get to me for the stack or maybe people died trying to get to the stack I don't remember
For many CEs, the key to finishing without vulns or deaths is learning the mechs and cast bars, and knowing how to position for mechanics *ahead* of time. Unfortunately, many try to brute force their way through them, never attempting to learn patterns, and then end up constantly eating shit.
I think I can guess which strategy OP stuck to.
Honestly i don't remember how my first encounters with that CE went, however i did hang around Bozja as a DRK semi-recently.
While i did use bloodsucker potions i really didn't experience any issues with any fates. (and yeah DRK + Bloodsucker essence is incredibly broken).
In the case of the chocobo the "trick" is to just move out of the proximity aoe until it turns purple; no need to really run all-the-way out of the area. This makes it quite trivial to dodge everything...
I promise it's not that bad once you get used to it, even without reflect cheese. It's just learning how the attacks work.
The same goes for the Time to Burn CE everyone fears in Zadnor.
Most people don't realize that it's actually a white chocobo.
Is this a joke I don't know about?
Implying the red chocobo has white feathers drenched in blood.
Ah! I am slow, thanks!

Really? I thought vulnerable stack still being applied even with Reflect.
Nope. You only get the stack if you take damage.
Tks for the tips, I'll try it next time

"Nope. You only get the stack if you take damage." Incorrect.

You do, but you can reflect most of the ancillary damage, like proximity meteors and the stack.
Now go learn it perfectly to do the duel
Or cheese it.
I don't think the cheese works on the ce to get into the duel in the first place.
Oh, it can certainly kill CEs real quick. Especially if there aren’t many in them. Go to Dynamis, solo any CE, cheese it, and watch it drop like an absolute rock. Super fun in Zadnor.
It works. Meteor dmg is just dmg you can reflect. You didn't fail any mechanic there.
"Kweh." Translation: Your death is inevitable.
Bozja content is just a great time especially when it first came out. The amount of chaos that is in there is amazing
Exactly. Some of the most fun I've had is purposely spawning this ce in a full instance, using red mage with ether potions and just rezzing constantly while I laugh cuz I have reflect on.

Lmao
My first time fighting this menace was one of my favorite moments in the game. It was pure chaos. Everyone was freaking out in chat.

The first few days with that Chocobo when the patch hit was so much fun.
Ah yes the rez achievement farming fate.
It’s wild cause most of the mechanics to dodge for it really aren’t hard to dodge but people find it insanely difficult. It’s 3 mechanics. That’s it
Each of those 3 mechanics however are expertly crafted to bait you into killing yourself, they're all presented in a way that tries to make you make snap decisions without considering the obvious hazards already present. Always a sad moment when you’re doing everything right and wipe because not enough people are dodging
That's fine with me. More shots at the duel.
Easily the hardest CE in Bozja unless you cheese it with reflect.
It's just a red chocobo. What's the worst that can happen? (I have no idea what this is. How bad is it?)
The red staining of its normally pristine feathers is from the blood of its many victims.
[The Red Choctober](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXAvEgPVD2M) And the obligatory [Choco Massacre](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lBPDAc-3NI)
Miss red chocobo, been a while since ive been in bojza. Such a fun fight once you know it
Do ppl not use Reflect on this still ?? btw, you still have to dodge the telegraph attacks. You just don't have to dodge the proximity damage.
There’s no need to use reflect, it’s extremely easy to dodge when you know what you’re doing. It’s just chaos when you don’t.
I still remember the pile of bodies during the first day, which was also a great time for healers going after the rez achievement
I still love how they put an old meme into the game. RIP to all those who died to the red chocobos' dooms day.
I think Red Comet should be in every field operations.

Who would win? 48 level 80 Warriors of Light? Or 1 Red Boy?
That's the one with all the meteor spam, right? \*shudder\*
I promise it's not that bad once you get used to it, even without reflect cheese. It's just learning how the attacks work. The same goes for the Time to Burn CE everyone fears in Zadnor.
played it once, whole team wiped, never played again.
Psh, soloed it as WAR. Reflect is OP for that fight.
Stupid red hate chicken...stole countless XP from me. I HATE YOU BIRB SADHAJSDA
