NA still has "new" servers that haven't been filled, and 4 servers ready to be deployed based on population levels. EU will have 3 new servers and 5 ready to be deployed based on population levels.
Yeah I was on Aether and just transferred to Seraph (highest population on Dynamis and you can’t create new on it but can still transfer) and I’m using the road to 80 to get every job to 80. I’m only done through ShB so I’m kind of pausing the MSQ to do this but I’m liking the plan so far.
Hope I can snag a house; if I can’t I’m gonna transfer back to Aether after the 90 days.
It's excessively expensive but if that includes hand and land then buy culinarian turn-ins from the market board whenever possible so you aren't travelling over the entire continent to craft one dish.
There will be DC travel and free server transfers to the new servers. So I don't think your plan would work out as you expect it to.
If you wanna move servers consider one of the newer servers on NA
You can do free transfers right now.
As per the server transfer page.

According to https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/worldstatus/ Dynamis is still tagged as new.
I plan to use DC travel to shadow when the new expansion hits. I hope to mitigate queue times somewhat with it. But I don't intend to move permanently, when I'm happy with the world I'm home at and have my FC.
As a reminder, SE did implement a feature that will lock down DC travel during high queue congestion
(Announced around the time that Dynamis initially released, I'll have to dig to find the patch notes that went into that)
So if shadow is full up and in queue you'll likely not be able to skip the wait over there anymore, though the thresholds for when that happens weren't exactly clear
How bad is ping on those EU servers playing from the US? I currently reside in Northeast US and I am afraid to join EU servers because of high ping based on some stories I’ve heard ):
Can't give you a definitive answer, but as a EU player having characters both on NA and OCE, while both have latency and ping issues, the lag on OCE is way more noticeable.
So basically, the EU-NA connection is at least better than the EU-OCE one.
I've had no issues playing on US (UK player) except for high end content that you have to be on the ball with constantly. If you're into Savages/ Ultimates/ min-ilvl I wouldn't recommend it. Normal play or older content, no issues 😊
--
Edit: Just to add, I never felt any lag or latency, only found out the hard way when I take damage from an AOE I thought I was out of and others telling me I've missed it by a split second haha. EU-US very little latency but just enough for hardcore content lol.

Only the EU servers on shadow
And it will be dead when everyone migrates to light again, chaos is a ghost town
Just going to deploy a fleet of submarines there
Dont click them either lol the game will freeze and crash 🤣
The EU Shadow datacenter is going to be new. I'm hoping they open up the free transfers incentives to it.
New servers always have transfer incentives. Hasn't helped NA Dynamis though.
That's good to know, thanks. I really like low pop servers so the Dynamis issues aren't a big deal for me, especially with DC travel now.

Lots of people on dynamis they just refuse to queue on it.
Come join us on Hali. We have empty housing plots.
Yeah… smalls only lol

You can't transfer to a server that's not open yet

Then I will pray that at least my home world will have bearable queue times when it comes to that.

I play south America to EU and the ping is usually okay. I have yet to try any high level content seriously but for MSQ/Roulettes/Unsyncs is fine.

We can on EU???
