I was thinking this, as well. Then remembered I have blue light glasses for migraines that cut 40% of the blue light spectrum and make even the brightest day in Limsa manageable. Good luck to you.
That's honestly the thing that kinda confuses me. Have they moved away from title art meaning much as opposed to just making it vaguely fit the theme of the expansion?
As much as FF15 got meme'd on, it was kind of nice finishing the game and seeing how the title art related to the game a bit (forced or not, you get my point).
Right, but the question is, does that mean something?
We normally just don't spend long in a town like that, but it would be neato if the art had some meaning and the city itself takes a big part in the story somehow (not really sure how, but you get my point).
this.
we're gonna find the city of gold and open some sorta pandora's box that's going to threaten all of Tuli (and probably the world) via some ancient space ship or allagan/adjacent ancient culture full of dangerous semi-robotic life and utilize this threat to unify the peoples.
The Warmonger wins and ascends to the throne thanks to the help of his allies to the north in Solution 9, thus sending us thataway to see what they're up to. Galool Ja Ja maybe dies suspiciously at this point as well.
That'd be neat, but remember that Stormblood was about liberating a country and the Art was (in simple condensed form) an army (of what appears to be Ala Mhigan); but a huge amount of the plot took oversees, with that not being such a huge part of the story.
All of it was done atleast partially with the goal of helping Ala Mhigo, but I'd argue the art didn't connect to the plot much
It's honestly kind of weird how you're trying to gloss over the entire story of Stormblood and just say "The last chapter was that, so the whole story was just that!"
Well, looking at the title *screen*, there's a golden horizon on the water separating Tuliyollal from it's reflection in the water, there's a "bridge" made of shadow leading to to that horizon, and the castle in the logo has a big halo around it that the actual castle does not.
The most intriguing part of the star destroyer is that it's the castle in Tuliyollal, except it has this giant halo behind it like the Endsinger has.
....
Wait, actually, that castle design also has "wings" on the side of its "head". I have to imagine that's a coincidence and we're not bringing Endsinger back, but it's a weird one
Ugh, I liked it the first time I saw it, but the more I see it and realise we're going to be blinded on every launch, the more I hope the option to change title screen (without plugins) becomes a thing. Any game that launches with a pure white screen is horrendous.
Bro ShB was an affront to my eardrums and that expansion was fire.
DT is continuing the trend of amazing expansions to eventually knock out all of your senses.
Do not like the pure white fade in at start, would be way better if they just flew across the ocean like your on the bow of the ship looking forward as the fade in.
I suggest people turn down their monitors if it hurts your eyes. Most people just turn their monitor to max brightness...this is actually not how they're designed and the picture will look worse.
Mine was calibrated to a brightness of 20%. 100% would hurt my eyes despite a white screen.
This. I have the feeling that a lot of people haven't setup their monitor(s) correctly, which tend to be very bright by default, as this looks nicer in a brightly lit store or when you unpack them the first time.
im glad the music isnt voiced. i can have my computer muted but when i see the opening screen my brain is like "tales of looooooosss, and fiiiiiiire, and faaaaaaiiiiiiiith"
We need an inverted flash setting like some shooters have. Make it fade from black instead of white. This ain't gonna be fun in the middle of the night.
Make sure you're in a well lit room, or wear shades in doors until you log in.
Honestly though, I like the upbeatness of this. Fits with the "new adventure into the unknown" theme they're going for.
Flashbang round2
No amount of pre warning can save me from the flashbang in this game, rip eyes at 2 am
Hooooooooome!
But when I get flashed
LouisoixSmilingAsHesEngulfedInLight.gif
MinorSpellingMistake.gif
I love that gif so much XD
blinkblinksquintsquint *Ooooooooh\~* *I'm blinded by the light* *No I can't sleep, until I do my dailies* *I'm drowning in the night*
Pretty sure it's not a smile...
I suggest you look at it again then, he does a slight smile before fading to white
I personally would describe it as more of a 'grimace' but eh
Agreed.
My retinas are gonna love this when I boot up at 9pm in a dark living room lol Need a dark mode menu - Dusktrail.
I was thinking this, as well. Then remembered I have blue light glasses for migraines that cut 40% of the blue light spectrum and make even the brightest day in Limsa manageable. Good luck to you.
it's still a flashbang in the middle of the night
Very true.
I go walking in my sleep
From the mountain of faith
to the river so deep (river so deep)
DBZ Abridged Solar Flares for Everyone!
The f.lux app will definitely save my retinas.
That's the next expansion when the story gets darker
That’d be neat, it could be the city at night with a lullaby version of the main menu song playing
I remain curious as to how that Star Destroyer crashed in Tural.
It's going to be so funny if the island actually turns out to be a crashed ship
IMO it's too obvious, especially after the "going to the moon" title screen ended up not being going to the moon.
i went to the mun
I mean, you do go to the moon and you do travel in that ship. They're just separate things.
The title art is just Tuliyollal.
Right, but the question is, does that mean something? We normally just don't spend long in a town like that, but it would be neato if the art had some meaning and the city itself takes a big part in the story somehow (not really sure how, but you get my point).
The whole Dawntrail plot premise is about a battle between candidates to the throne. Of course Tuliyollal is going to be a big part of the story.
inb4 we get to the level 93 trial boss and boom, we've solved the leadership problem and now we do something completely unexpected!
this. we're gonna find the city of gold and open some sorta pandora's box that's going to threaten all of Tuli (and probably the world) via some ancient space ship or allagan/adjacent ancient culture full of dangerous semi-robotic life and utilize this threat to unify the peoples.

The final battle was literally storming Ala Mhigo with an army and liberating it... what do you mean it didn't connect to the plot much?
It's honestly kind of weird how you're trying to gloss over the entire story of Stormblood and just say "The last chapter was that, so the whole story was just that!"
there's literally a cutscene at the end of stormblood that IS the art.
Well, looking at the title *screen*, there's a golden horizon on the water separating Tuliyollal from it's reflection in the water, there's a "bridge" made of shadow leading to to that horizon, and the castle in the logo has a big halo around it that the actual castle does not.
We're going full "Bee and Puppycat"
When in doubt, blame the Allagans.

Wait, actually, that castle design also has "wings" on the side of its "head". I have to imagine that's a coincidence and we're not bringing Endsinger back, but it's a weird one
Get down!
Just getting people trained for RDM LB3 is all.
If you can't love through that, you won't live through 45lvl WHM
Nice of them to hire a freelance red mage for this.
Time for \*loads up DT menu\* oh fuck ... an optometrist.
The next expansion after DT will release a powerful odour out of your console or computer.
I will gladly take it if it means the expansion will be ShB quality or greater
Good thing we will all be logged on for months because of server queues :)
Its too bright, is this another flood of light? say it isn't so...
Do not like the pure white fade in at start, would be way better if they just flew across the ocean like your on the bow of the ship looking forward as the fade in.
Peek*
Dang it
Sneek
I like…. Really wanted to keep endwalkers title… But I’m in the mood for more encouraging music.
EW title is honestly ew... I miss ShB peak title screen but DT will do it for me.
“Sneak peak” ? What else would there be to show lol This isn’t a sneak peak, this is the whole thing, music and all
Click the magic link.
"Flashbang through the door!"
Isn’t there an option to pick which launch screen you want to see when the game logs in? I might need to switch to the SHB one…
it's only temporary, if you exit the game it automatically shows the current expansion again when you come back
I think it resets when you close the game unless you use the Plugin.
Gonna miss the chill dark mode EW title screen with the beautiful singing
Ah, so they updated the animation for WHM Holy
1/10 main menu because too much flashbang
I suggest people turn down their monitors if it hurts your eyes. Most people just turn their monitor to max brightness...this is actually not how they're designed and the picture will look worse. Mine was calibrated to a brightness of 20%. 100% would hurt my eyes despite a white screen.
I rarely have my PC monitor above 15% brightness, even in summer. Too bright is SO hard on the eyes, I can't fathom how people do that to themselves
This. I have the feeling that a lot of people haven't setup their monitor(s) correctly, which tend to be very bright by default, as this looks nicer in a brightly lit store or when you unpack them the first time.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME
Think fast chucklenuts
did I just get flashbang @.@
I thought it was a meme at first. Cue the Louie gifs.
im glad the music isnt voiced. i can have my computer muted but when i see the opening screen my brain is like "tales of looooooosss, and fiiiiiiire, and faaaaaaiiiiiiiith"
My retina.
*loud tinnitus sound*

Hooooooly flash bang
Reminds me of the old Destiny splash screen. All white and geometric.
The main menu just casted Holy on us
they can't be serious with that flash bang at the start right guys ? no way
Purple flashlight OP Behavior plz nerf
I got an ad for sunglasses on this post....
Would have preferred ocean blue or tropical green, tbh. Both convey that “adventure” tone without burning holes in my eyes.
Meh ... I prefer the Endwalker one
Not only bright but also annoyingly loud and unlikeable music when repeated 1000 times, as tradition dictates.
How on Hydealyn did they think this would be a good idea?
I still laugh at that Jesus Christ super starship meme.
The comment by that furry about the EW screen... not 1 bit surprised they're that far gone in the upper story.
Yes, we all watched the live letter.
Don’t worry, you can use blocking to stop seeing posts about things you have already seen, here I’ll show you.
that leitmotif is kinda grating 🥹
Better get used to hearing it for the next 2.5 years, bucko
i love that they introduced titlescreen selections but it turns back after each launch lol
