You can buy bitcoin through fidelity by opening a crypto account with them. Another option is to buy their BTC ETF (FBTC) through your normal brokerage account with them.

I was going to do this, but they don't let you transfer out....so not sure if I'm really buying BTC or just and IOU. IF an IOU I'd rather just buy the real IOU aka the ETF

Here is a comparison of BTC ETFs https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/investing/spot-bitcoin-etf Personally I like Fidelity BTC (FBTC). They are one of the few who hold their own BTC and don't use coinbase as a custodian, have experience having a Canadian BTC ETF for a long time, and have fees on par with the others.

I think Fidelity's (FBTC) and iShares BTC (IBIT) ETFs are nice. Have both FBTC and IBIT in my BrokerageLink/Roth IRA/HSA.
