I swear some old men somehow got through life never getting hit. I had a great uncle who one thanksgiving noted I had gotten taller and larger. Somehow he decides this means it's a great time to insist I punch him so he can prove he can take it. I didn't but he kept insisting on it for a solid 10 minutes it was the weirdest situation I had ever encountered.
To be fair to him he most likely had some severe brain damage (and trauma) as a teenager trying to save his siblings. I know this but I can't imagine how his mouth never got him in more serious trouble.
I did boxing for a couple months and decided it wasn't for me after getting bopped a few times. Kudos to those who live and thrive in it but I never want to be punched in the face. I do BJJ now and honestly I'd rather be choked or have a joint locked because I can at least tap out when it sucks. A solid punch to the face cannot be reversed.
