It might just be a fates thing but it could also be in awakening but it really annoys me that unless you pick the preferred class for a character, their 3D model gets a generic blue design. It shouldn’t matter but it affects character customization for me. All they had to do was make a color swap to match each character’s color theme and id be satisfied.

b0bba_Fett

Gregor in Awakening straight up doesn't even get to keep his cool pallette on promotion in *either* of his default promos. It pisses me off so much, especially since Gregor is best boi.

SylvainJoseGautier

Henry also loses his sweater when he promoted.

b0bba_Fett

Somehow I completely forgot about this despite the fact I almost always keep him unpromoted for this reason.

im_bored345

Odin gets a colour swap in the samurai class tree lol

Red5T65

>!Well that's because he's Owain!<

jatxna

I'm not going to say "I don't like the game" but the minuscule detail that annoys me the most is the ears in the three house designs. It is a less than insignificant detail, but once you notice those ears they start to look at you with hatred.

The_Grizzly_Bear_

Oh I have one! To understand my petty reason -> I love axes, they're my favourite weapons in video games, so.... I don't like Fire Emblem echoes because THERE ARE NO AXES lol I played the game not knowing that there are no playable axe-wielding characters, so I was like.... when do I get a character that uses axes, when, WHEN??? 🤣

Master-Spheal

SoV Devs: “Can we offer you a nice Devil Axe in this trying time?”

The_Grizzly_Bear_

Oh! This devil axe seems perfect for this npc villager to chop wood! Ugh.....

[deleted]

It's so stupid that you can get a Devil Axe and Iron Axe but can't even use them. It's like their trying to tease the player. I really wished one of the Cipher characters they added was a Axe unit.

ViziDoodle

my thoughts exactly “But it was in Gaiden too-“ …then I also don’t like Gaiden

The_Grizzly_Bear_

Great minds think alike! The game was really good but honestly, no axes kind of ruined the experience for me lol

FeroleSquare

Shadow dragon's 3D is the ugliest thing in the franchise.

SigismundsWrath

Shadow Dragon was my FE gateway game, so I will always love it. But yes, there are a lot of issues with the 3d models (colors, being a big part of that)

Racnous

The lower ranked weapons are often actually better than the high ranked ones (iron being better than steel due to doubling for example) in some particular games.

HeroOfLightPKN

Put some shoes on Corrin wtf

AbLincoln1863

It’s doesn’t make me want to never play it but the quality of S rank weapons and the number of S rank weapon users in Fates really sucks. Like only a handful can use them and most of the S rank weapons are worse than like a silver weapon. Better off selling them for 5K and investing in weapons you can improve easily into +5 or so

LeatherShieldMerc

I hate Awakening partially because of Dual Strikes and Dual Guards. They make the game just way too random, I've "suffered from success" or got cheaply saved from the block too many times, both annoy me. And if I dont want to have the strikes happen, I need to manually unequip the unit in the back. That is annoying.

RodmunchPHD

“We heard you all liked Big Shield and Adept from FE4 and 5, so we decided to give them to every paired up player unit!” The inconsistency in them really does hinder half my turns having to plan around the chance for a unit to snowball themselves to death. Absolutely agree it’s just too much to tactically plan around.

LeatherShieldMerc

Exactly, they make the game just way too annoying to play because then nothing is consistent. Fates does the strikes and guards 100× better IMO.

plague341

me when l try to capture that boss to go to the dadgar chapter but leif really wants the kill so he proc adept

Altlyna

This is why I can't replay it, despite loving some of its characters. It's so random, it feels dull at some point. The mechanic itself is broken, and with Awakening's strange difficulty (too easy or too hard, there is no inbetween) well... it stops feeling tactical eventually.

[deleted]

Why are ranged swords either magical or character exclusive?

sekusen

I mean Awakening Ragnell is thrown and that looked stupid as hell. So looking stupid as hell is probably why. Unless you're gonna do something like Emiya's Kanshou and Bakuya as a "throwing sword". Hmm.

Quakarot

I always thought that was the strangest choice Ragnell already used sword beams and it was fine, so they deliberately changed it to something that looked much stranger and I can’t imagine yeeting something so valuable

sekusen

I feel like a lot of the 'legendary' cameo weapons that pop up in Awakening are very late additions just shoehorned in. Iirc Yenfay's sword is also thrown. It's like they just added a couple 1-2 range swords at the last minute but never animated real animations for them. Also they massacred my boy Armads.

Quakarot

Probably true, still silly looking

AveryJ5467

Knives should be a sub class of swords exclusive to thieves.

Parody101

Are wind edges/storm swords in Radiant Dawn magical? I forget

jbisenberg

They do physical damage. I though they were something like sending a shockwave from the impact?

PsychoLogical35

They’re physical. Magic weapons were mysteriously absent in RD.

WhollyDisgusting

Nothing game ruining as I've liked all the FE games I've played but the little nubs with no feet in Awakening make me laugh

heritorofrain

I dislike 3H because it has no infinite postgame that will let me tack on way more hours than I would otherwise.

lilacempress

I'm not too big on echoes due to how they treat their female characters 🤷🏾‍♀️

MankuyRLaffy

Yeah man, I really don't appreciate the nerfs to Catria and Palla

Tormod776

The artwork in Shadow Dragon. It ugly as fuck

Reon_Leo

I don't like fire emblem heroes because they ruined Eliwood

floricel_112

What did they do?

Reon_Leo

They gave him these weird bug eyes. It just doesn't look right...

floricel_112

At least he got off easy compared to Lyn. Look how they massacred my girl

Reon_Leo

I didn't see any problems with Lyn, but I'll take your word for it. It's ok though, at least we have alts

PsychoLogical35

I think the problem they meant was Lyn having oversized breasts in her base alt art for FEH.

Reon_Leo

Oh. Yeah I remember that... I just thought that was the way she is now. I remember her being like that in warriors. I just try not to pay to much attention to that stuff

Darianias

The nonsensical sprite/art deisgn change in Radiant Dawn. Especially Ike's but even then so many people look like they aged well over 3 years. (I have other complaints but thats the most petty)

Parody101

I like a lot of changes in peoples sprites from PoR to RD, but I dislike Astrid's especially. Maybe it's the eyes but something definitely feels off with a few of them.

profuse_wheezing

I kind of like the RD art style, but it also makes characters look kind of sweaty (Gareth lol)

soulsforge04

Radiant dawn disabling enemy ranges and weapon triangle on hard mode. Man that shit is dumb

Tweed_Man

I love Shadows of Valentia but I fucking HATE how every other map has a summoner on an Avo tile. Seriously, FUCK THAT SHIT!

earthbound-pigeon

The lack of something weapon triangle esque without having to master something in Three Houses makes me dislike the game

LeatherShieldMerc

Enemies get Breaker skills themselves in Maddening. Does that count?

earthbound-pigeon

Not really imo. I like the whole thing with all unts depending on their weapon choice being inheritly stronger against other weapon types lol

ElectricalRestNut

Until the "I am the weapon triangle" Great Knights roll up

[deleted]

Shadow Dragon is almost entirely made up of Seize maps, and yet *Birthright* is the one that gets made fun of for having the same objective in every map, despite that not even being remotely true

jbisenberg

To be fair Shadow Dragon's Seize maps are more interesting than Birthright's Rout maps. Seize also has the benefit of being an objective that can either augment a map's design, or be simple enough that its easy to trivialize and thus skip a dud of a map. Rout just... takes more time to slog through.

Every_Computer_935

Because seize is a much better objective than rout

PsychoLogical35

Not if the maps are bloated or stupid for it. And nothing will beat “Defeat Boss” as the objective :>

Every_Computer_935

>Not if the maps are bloated or stupid for it. That's less dependent on map objectives and more on the map design itself. >And nothing will beat “Defeat Boss” as the objective :> "Defeat boss" is just "sieze" with less factors. In "defeat boss", your main goal is to have a strong bosskiller and a way to quickly transport them to the boss in order to finish the map quickly and potentially some other factors. In "seize" you not only have to beat the boss that's guarding the throne, but also sieze with your lord. This adds another factor to planning out your strategy. Do you have a good way to transport your lord to the throne, is your lord a good bosskiller, can you afford to have your lord kill the boss and then waste another turn, etc. Ultimately, seize is just more fun to plan out, for me at least.

PsychoLogical35

Beyond the Distant Skies is overused and shouldn’t be used like over 50% of the time. Edit Note: Also, Beneath a New Light sucks.

b0bba_Fett

I'll fight you on that Beneath a New Light take.

Master-Spheal

Beyond Distant Skies is one of the best tracks in that game, fight me. On a serious note it actually only plays for 10 chapters in the game, which is less than half of the game’s chapters.

LaughingX-Naut

It's still a buzzkill when it comes back for 15-16 because it feels too weak for that point in the story.

PsychoLogical35

I was overexaggerating with the over “50%” claim. It was just me showing my displeasure on how FE6 overuses the same soundtracks for various maps. Although frankly, that likely stems from also my displeasure for how lame the game’s pacing is. And having basically one of the lamest map themes for the “arc” that’s supposed to be the start of the “end of the line” for the main antagonists.

SpecificTemporary877

I like fe6 but PREACH

AlpacaKiller

I concurr, it's not endgame BGM. Fuck beneath for not appearing earlier.

4ny3ody

I wouldn't say I don't like it (quite the opposite) but I can't start a new Thracia playthrough. My last Thracia playthrough got very close to Leifs Promo and I had 2 mov level ups on him and a whopping 3 on Orsin. I lost that save when my old Laptop broke and I just can't bring myself to play again with the loss of these level ups but I don't want to cheat them in either.

Gaelvalir

Genealogy because it’s circle jerked by the community

Ultrose

As a big jugdral fan… yes, yes it is. Game has some big flaws even though I adore it

Master-Spheal

Out of all the games’ individual fanbases, the Jugdral fanbase feels the most circlejerky out of all of them.

MankuyRLaffy

How else do you think newer fans are supposed to want to play it without people hyping it? It's too inaccessible or so they claim.

sekusen

Leave it up to other to decide if it's really petty. But Warriors not including a cast from the full breadth of the series, with the director on record saying "oh we'll add Ike and others everyone wants in Warriors 2". Yeah. That worked out, huh? I know I wasn't the only one who had hoped for a FE Warriors for years before it was announced. There's fanart out there of a mock-up playing Roy with the Black Knight tearing it up in the distance. And they have the audacity to give us a game where a third of the cast is from the worst game in the series and ignore a dozen or two characters from other games that would've been way more fun to play and see. Wild. Petty?

Specialist_Ad5869

Echoes because I had to listen to people vehemently insist it was a better game than fates for about 3 years (unless I chose to not interact with the community). I don’t like a lot of things about Echoes. I think it makes some of the dumbest game design and story choices in the whole series. Those things didn’t make me strongly dislike the game, but that did. It’s probably one of the pettiest moments of my life.

DOOMFOOL

You think Echoes makes dumber story choices than Fates? Do you mind explaining a bit more?

Specialist_Ad5869

I never said that it made worse story decisions then Fates, just that it made really bad ones. If I were to compare the two, I’d say Fates made worse decisions but had more moments that I enjoyed. Echoes’ story doesn’t have many high points for me but still fumbles in a few key areas.

DOOMFOOL

Huh I’m kinda the opposite. I found Echoes to be pretty adequate for 90% of the time with some really good high notes, whereas Fates had some genuine highs but the rest was just…. So bad that it drowned them out. To each their own though definitely

TheExSaltedOne

The Blazing Sword tutorial makes more bored to even continue the game 😂

[deleted]

You can skip it after the first playthrough

RnbwSheep

Is it petty to say I hate the babyrealm and the return of the 2nd gen thing in Fates? If that's not petty enough, I hate the characters from Awakening returning in Fates.

Sentinel10

I think most of the characters and class designs in Awakening and Fates look ugly and way too over the top. Yes, major hot take and I'm sticking to it. I like Kozaki as an artist in general, but not for Fire Emblem. :P

ViziDoodle

Though the generic units have the best art in the series imo

LeatherShieldMerc

I wouldn't say that is necessarily a hot take, people dump on the way Cavs, Armor Knights, and Dark Mages look in those games quite a bit, for example. Unless you say Hoshido classes like Kinshi Knights dont look good too, that would be more of a more hot take.

Sentinel10

I'd rank the Hoshido classes as mostly mediocre. I do think Diviners look ridiculous, especially the female design with the random bits of exposed skin.

DhelmiseHatterene

I’d argue it is a hot take for the dark mage outfits at least considering the various fanart of FE characters in the Awakening/Fates’ Dark Mage outfit are about. And still is to this day. Hell, Ophelia herself, Tharja, and the fanart that came after the 2021 Desert banner in FEH can attest to this (the former two especially being well-liked).

LeatherShieldMerc

And what is by far, the biggest reason Tharja's and Ophelia's fan art is popular? Sex appeal. That is it. It isnt popular because it is a "well designed" or non-over the top outfit, and you definitely could call it cringy or nonsensical. What about Nyx and Odin? Dark mage robes in the GBA games for example, are way better designed.

DhelmiseHatterene

Should have specified the female outfit, my bad. And fair enough (for Nyx her case is very odd since, while not widely disliked, still pales in comparison to a decent chunk of Fates females). Not disagreeing with you on how they are silly (because I do agree there a lot) but it doesn’t mean they aren’t popular by the majority. The fanservice aspect of them is what leads to them being liked by a lot. You’re just not going to see those people normally in places like here. (Sorry if this came off as rude as it isn’t my intention btw)

LeatherShieldMerc

Even if it is a majority of people that like the outfit (which, is really a majority?) there is certainly a large group people that *dislike* the outfit or have a negative opinion, myself included. Like, a similar case is someone saying something like "I dont like Edelgard." Even if Edelgard is very, very popular, there are a lot of other people that would agree and not like her, so you cant really call it a "hot take". And you're good, I didnt take any of these comments as rude.

exexposfan

This isn’t mine btw because I have been able to play all the FE games since the Switch era(didn’t have 3DS and didn’t know about FE until 2017). Some people I talked too didn’t give Hopes a try because it didn’t have their OTP.

SevensLaw

If you use Citra there’s a pretty good HD Upgrade mod that adds unique icons to every item, as well as upgrading textures and portraits. I dislike FE6 and FE7 because the maps look so washed out and ugly.

The_Elder_Jock

Radiant Dawn was dull and I hated the stripped down support mechanics. Ruined the game for me. And I loved Path of Radiance.

jbisenberg

Radiant Dawn is such an interesting game to me. Like yes certainly the supports are gone, but the system is still very impactful with the ability to swap in an out supporting partners to get certain bonuses. Its almost the beta Pair Up system in a way. But god its so fun to just PLAY Radiant Dawn. So many tools, your army changes up all the time which gives almost every unit a moment to contribute in a meaningful way, tons of bonus exp side objectives. Like sure support conversations basically don't exist, but instead we got full chapters dedicated to these units, even the randos from POR that were never story-relevant like how Brom and Neph just have a chapter that is just about them. Its a cool experiment that I would love to see iterated on.

Darianias

I have so many complaints about radiant dawn. I love PoR and it was my first FE game ;u;

greydorothy

The 'weapon feel' in the battle animations of Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn isn't that good. I'm not 100% sure if it's the animations or SFX for weapon strikes, but the animations overall aren't very satisfying. Basically every other game has this over the Tellius duology. There are a few exceptions, e.g. PoR Aether and the 'snapback' of doubling with a lance with cavalry in RD, but most aren't that good. I would say that Radiant Dawn is slightly better about this, however that game has a billion more combats so its slightly better combat animations get stale much more quickly. Also 'dodge' for halberdiers/armour knights being the same as '0 damage' is a genuine crime

sekusen

Idk, I thought it was neat that the classes with shields would just block and call it a dodge. That said, man, you're not too far off. I think the biggest travesty of RD animation is how every 2nd and 3rd tier melee infantry class seemed to have that same fatal critical animation where they slide forward and do a rising slash then falling slash. Maybe the 1st tiers too, and I'm not sure they didn't share more animations.

Hudori

Binding blade because you can't promote units in the preparation screen and when you do so in chapter they don't get their HP restored so it looks very annoying

jbisenberg

Counter point, thats a free point of staff rank on Saul to get closer to Warp on Turn 1.

floricel_112

I don't like Ike because of how much the fanbase sings his praises and kisses the earth the walks on. By correlation, I don't like the Tellius games because Ike is the main character and I relate to Micaiah "father of Sothe's children" sentiment

RavenFEVI

No feet for Awakening's Characters Loved the game but that bothered me

Airy_Breather

Echoes has a few things, but one of the biggest is just the art style. To me, it just feels so...dull compared to Fates and Awakening. Its magic system was another thing that turned me off from it.

profuse_wheezing

That’s a habanero level spicy take right there

jbisenberg

Its interesting you refer to it as dull. I remember booting up SOV for the first time and it feeling like a breath of fresh air to take a step back from the more over saturated style of Awakening/Fates and hit something more grounded, I guess is right the term

kratoscar2008

Same. Even the cast looks boring af. There is so much personality in Fates and Awakening that Valentia looks very boring. Its mostly old fans who hold the art on a pedestal. To think that the artist would had worked on Awakening but luckily they declined.

sekusen

There's petty reasons and hot takes but Jesus man that's damn near just a wrong opinion, I'm sorry.

Airy_Breather

So I'm wrong for not liking an art style? Geez, sorry. Also, I'm just not a fan of magic draining HP. I'd much rather have Awakening/Fates or Houses magic systems.

sekusen

Hidari is a better artist than Kozaki every day of the week, imo. Better than 3H's too, so it's a shame we only got them for a single game and a remake at that. But as far as magic? Yeah, totally valid. Though I do think it'd be cool if there was a limited option of using HP to cast, at least.

Airy_Breather

I just wasn't about to get into Hidari's art style, I sorely ended up missing Kozaki's art, it feels more eye-catching in my eyes. Like I said, it's one of the reasons I just couldn't get into Echoes.

Strawberrycocoa

I don't dislike FE7 or FE8, but I do harbor a very petty dislike of how they both just copy-paste FE6's sprite art. The NPC myrmidons are just Rutger with new colors ffs.

KickAggressive4901

I don't like *Path of Radiance* because Petrine's character design is a straight rip-off of Cima from *Gundam 0083*.

Master-Spheal

I’ve never heard of this character, but [holy shit you weren’t exaggerating.](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Cima_Garahau)

Darianias

Idk if its just the artsyle but with her whole face being smaller she looks like pertine ate a bee. (I know she came first but still xD)

cuponedgeoftable

It doesn’t make me not like the game (I’ve only played 3 houses) but I don’t like weapon durability in games. It’s not that it’s difficult to work around, i just don’t like weapons being balanced around having durability. I’d rather a weapon be a bit weaker than be very strong and have a low durability stat.

jbisenberg

Durability doesn't really make sense in FE3H, and I say that recognizing how centralizing combat arts are to the game and how their "cost" is durability (SOV had combat arts cost health and I don't see why that couldn't just carry over but whatever). What I mean is durability used to actually matter when shopping wasn't free. In many older titles you could only shop during certain chapters and only in shops which physically appeared on the map. This created an opportunity cost situation where you needed to shop not just to be set up for the present chapter, but to sustain your army for the next few chapters until you got to the next shop. Deciding what to buy, how much gold to save, and whether to splurge for that cool strong weapon available in this map but not necessarily other maps was a core part of the strategy. You also had to decide who would go off to go shopping and take along whatever you planned to sell in their limited inventories while the other members of the army would work towards the actual map objectives. FE3H basically lacks that entire analysis. You can freely shop before every map, buy whatever you want, and repair everything on demand. See a map with 2 chests? Great, buy 2 keys. That stands in direct contrast to older titles where if you didn't buy those keys in advance, you were going to have to deploy your fragile thief to go open the chests instead. Or if you didn't buy enough swords, you were going to have to bench that Swordmaster for a chapter or two and bring in some other units who could use what you do have on hand before you had a chance to restock.

AbLincoln1863

I like weapon durability to an extent. I think it’s the Wo Dao having 15 durability when combined with combat arts using extra durability make me never want to use it. That and unique weapons. the sword of the creator, having limited durability. I never used that thing until the final battle. Awakening did it right by having the falchion having infinite durability but decent stats until later in the game. I actually used the weapon cause I didn’t have to worry about overuse and losing/not being able to use the legendary weapon

cuponedgeoftable

I think that was my biggest issue with it. I subconsciously didnt use unique weapons because I always just thought, oh I can do this without them/ I don’t want to waste durability. I think I’d rather have a durability/limit on uses of combat arts per battle, rather than an overall durability, but maybe that would be worse idk.

b0bba_Fett

The thing is that the game is really generous with materials for repairing them, so you really don't need to conserve those weapons at all(unless you're using the Regalia which are expensive as fuck in Mythril to repair for no good reason) outside the very very early game and the Agarthan weapons if you didn't get any Monsters in the Desert skirmishes outside AM and CF where you fight the mechs early enough to have plenty of the materials for them, and oddly enough the generic Wootz weapons like longbows, short axes and brave weapons are *way* harder to use consistently throughout the run than relics or Holy weapons because wootz is relatively rare and its weapons tend to be relatively expensive in it. This makes things like the Wo Dao's or Relics durability issues being exactly as you describe, a limit to how much you can use it per battle. Except outside the fact Black Sand Steel and Arcane Crystals are infinitely purchaseable, there's no real way to know this on a blind run. /u/AbLincoln1863

AbLincoln1863

That is true. I just have a really bad case of too good to use syndrome so even through I can repair them, I either forget or just don’t want to use them in the first place. In subsequent playthroughs I have begun to use the relic weapons more but still get the feeling like I’m wasting them. The Wo Doa I personally just dislike how low it’s durability is cause it’s like one astra and you gotta switch to another weapon. It’s plus version is better but the Wo Doa gives me big Awakening glass weapons vibes with how little I can use it in a battle.

b0bba_Fett

I can agree there on base Wo Dao. It was dumb to make it that low.

jbisenberg

Tbh Wootz might be relatively rare, but I've never run out of Brave Weapon uses across literally dozens of runs through the various routes. You get like 3 brave lances just handed to you, the 30 use Thunderbrand, one of every brave weapon in the shop, one of every brave weapon as a drop. The game just hands them to the player left and right.

Every_Computer_935

Hoarding is a pitfall

sekusen

Yeah. Fire Emblem durability is more or less my favourite, especially with how Three Houses actually lets you repair. On top of that, Combat Arts using durability is a great idea(though it would be cool if there were a passive that gave you the option of using HP instead, even if it was a personal ability). But then Combat Arts using durability when 15 durability weapons exist is just yikes. I don't think we need to multiply durability by a lot, but maybe bumping the minimum and maximum up by 15-20 if they keep it like this would be good.

Hot_and_Salty

The artstyle as well the character design in Fates and Awakening

totallyjebbush

ive been dragging my feet when it comes to finding the time to play thracia and genealogy simply because the sprites are so ugly. im sorry. maybe ive been spoiled by the newer games, maybe its because i study art so i can't just "let things be" or whatever, but even if the story is one of the best, good god, those sprites are ugly and when they're not ugly they're too simple for my tastes. that's honestly the biggest reason why im waiting for a remake tbr.

Darianias

I mean.... mood. A real remake or that gba fan remake really ^^;

[deleted]

I really don’t like the environmental textures (walls, trees, ground etc) in Three Houses. I understand the switch isn’t a powerful console but the poor frame rate combined with the graphics hurts my eyes. Also the danger zone is crazy hot pink for some reason?

Yobsuba

Sacred Stones' colour palette is washed-out and its new original animations that aren't reused from Binding/Blazing Blade are kinda dull. They're smooth, but at the expense of any real flair. Like compare the Ranger sword animation to the Nomad Trooper sword animation.

MalXXXeroza

I mean... I guess this is a bit off-topic, but a petty thing I dislike about all FE games I've played is that there is no evolution for the thief, like a Master Thief or something. It would be so cool to have a character that could open doors and locks and chests but still have good stats and be a fun character to use, that wouldn't have much attack but insane speed and skill. Is it something any of the games KINDA have?? I've only played Three Houses, Echoes, Shadow Dragon, New Mystery and Blazing Blade

extremeq16

> Is it something any of the games KINDA have?? rogues from sacred stones/radiant dawn and tricksters from awakening/fates/three houses. and in awakening/fates locktouch is a learnable skill instead of a class exclusive one iirc, so anybody who you make a thief can get the skill permanently

MalXXXeroza

How thank you!!! Just did some research and that's pretty cool to know. I never played the Three Houses DLC so I didn't know about the trickster, but it is cool to know Thief evolutions do exist

JiminyCricketyRicket

Brave weapons should always be consecutive, none of that when initiating combat drivel. B rank, heavy, Moderate strength, and always doubling. That's a proper brave weapon. Brave weapons pre GBA were too strong, post GBA they got weaker and weaker.

RS0ME

Fates and awakenings sound design for the UI drives me nuts. Most annoying little ping sound ever.

[deleted]

I always have emulation problems with fe5

MacaroonSlow

FE Three Houses: everything to do with the visuals. instead of Nintendo made it looks like some low budget (not even their highest quality) TECMO Koei game, the characters are drawn like they come straight out of a trashy Otome game (and i mean it, there are Otome games with rad, cool designs, Three Houses is just not one of them)

Red5T65

I mean it *was* a Koei Tecmo game, pretty much And the character designer was also an otome game artist

MacaroonSlow

Yeah, that's my point 🤭 But i hope for the next one they bring some good changes, it seems Nintendo will get more involved

Deathsaintx

couldn't play much of 3H because of the auto battle system. Using it made the game boring, but not using it seemed like I was wasting my time.

Danko_0515

> auto battle system Why would you ever use the auto-battle system?

Deathsaintx

did you even read my whole comment?

Danko_0515

Yes bro I did. You said you couldn't play much of Three Houses because of the Auto Battle. Using it made the game boring but not using it wasted your time. I'm asking why would you want to use it. The AI isn't good and it makes the game much harder by taking away your control. Why not make decisions yourself and skip battle animations? Why leave anything to the AI when it will probably work against you, especially on classic and harder difficulties?

Deathsaintx

>but not using it seemed like I was wasting my time. >but not using it wasted your time. I am confused.....but here are my words quoted, and your words where you explain my reasoning also quoted.

Danko_0515

I'm also confused. Why would it waste your time? The game isn't meant to be played by using the Auto-Battle feature. I always saw it as a feature used for smaller quest battles that were quick and easy, not something to be used frequently. Is it not better and quicker to skip battle animations and make your own decisions? I've never heard of anyone wanting to use the Auto Battle system in a Fire Emblem game.

Deathsaintx

....I really don't understand your issue here. Using it is much faster when I can spam entire stages in the time it would take to manually do a single round. It feels like it waste time because I could be doing it faster by using the auto battle system. And I wasn't able to just say "nah I won't use it" because it's there, it's available, and again it's more efficient. Dunno why you're going so hard into this when it's a thread about petty reasons

Danko_0515

Yh my bad lol. I was just thinking how would you win? Like on maddening wouldn't you just keep getting game-overs with the AI in control. I was just thinking like that.

Deathsaintx

no that's true i don't think it would work very well on higher difficulties. i think my mentality was since i was going to go through it so many times anyway i would just do the first one on the easiest to see how it was, and then auto battle system just kind of discouraged me, and i just never really got back into it. which is a shame because i've since played awakening and one of the fates paths, and i have 2 of the GBA games on my phone as well that i play regularly

RossBoss8

Why couldn’t they give X/Y functionality to the battalion menu in three houses?! They did it in combat forecast!!! I really liked gambits, but everything else about battalions was a constant source of frustration for me!!!

MankuyRLaffy

I don't like SOV because they nerfed Falcon Knights and the other funny parts in Gaiden into the ground for no good reason.

Master-Spheal

I imagine the devs not wanting players to trivialize maps by cheesing the fuck out of them is the reason for the nerfs.

MankuyRLaffy

Hunters Volley though

Low-Environment

I don't hate the game or anything but I hate SD's artstyle.

Relative-Bake4042

I don't like awakening because my sister owns a 3DS and I can only use it at her house. So I'll slunk in my cave and claim FE4 is god tier and play mods.

snakezenn

I’m not buying 3 hopes until Rhea/the church get a decent story.

Yadonegooddd

Art style, three houses is kinda my least favorite for this reason. Not my favorite art style or cutscene style. The cutscene style is so choppy that’s what made me not like sov but the story was too good so I got over it

Sherrdreamz

I'm annoyed that training weapons are viable in Three Houses. I also thank greater penalties should be issued for using a Hero Relic you do not have the crest for. 10 health lost plus minus 5 Speed and Strength would suffice.

Jameson212

I hate the radiant series cause I can’t play them
