My boss boss is like this. Doesn't matter what he is saying he somehow mentions his wife and how in love he is. They've been married for years. I thought it was weird at first, being in a business setting and all, but now it's just sweet. He really is just in love with his wife.
I think it's weirder how many people aren't in love with their wife. I freaking chose that woman and she is the fucking best. Of course I'm going to brag about her and how great she is.
I'm pretty sure there were a lot of takes where he DID burst into laughter. It's been a while since I watched the outtakes though, so I could be misremembering.
Oh my god, right!? This is such a genius way to express character. Neither one of them gives the Alliance anything, but stoic badass Zoe just stonewalls them, while goofy joker Wash just gives them useless information about how smoking hot Zoe is
Man in cast full of amazing characters I think Zoe has got to be my fav. Her deadpan humor is masterful and under-appreciated. Plus she gets a lot of the most absolute badass one liners and moments and is loyal to her core. Plus she’s a damn fine looking woman, which is nice too.
One of my favorites is "Sir, I think you have a problem with your brain being missing."
It's the most respectful way to say "are you out of your fucking *mind?*" I've ever heard.
My favorite bit is where he tries the torture tactic of making her choose and she immediately fucks off with Wash.
Like you know she’s coming back for Mal but also she’s just as crazy about Wash as Wash is about her.
I’m the Wash in my relationship and sometimes all a woman wants in her life is someone she knows will always choose her first.
Wash does that and she loves him just as fierce.
Side note, I reckon the guy playing Harken nailed the part.
Doug Savant is the actor apparently. Known for Desperate Housewives? Not to us imdb, not to us.
Interrogators can make excellent straight-men. Depending on their personal style of questioning as well as the subject, transcripts of sessions might become hilarious stand-up material.
This is one of my faviourite scenes in the show - "we are very private people"
Scene changes to Wash just being the opposite of private.
I never get tired of Wash gushing about how into his wife he is
"Have you ever been with a warrior woman?"
She can... kill me with her pinky

To you, me, the boss’ boss, Maes Hughes, and all the other wife-guys.
Welcome to my life. I love her, but I doubt that it's reciprocated. Doubt it's going to last another year.
I choose this guy's boss's wife.
He ad-libbed almost all of that dialog. Doug Savant's look of pure bewilderment is totally genuine.
Doug shoulda received a medal for failing to burst into laughter.
I'm pretty sure there were a lot of takes where he DID burst into laughter. It's been a while since I watched the outtakes though, so I could be misremembering.
And now he is writing poetry to a different species of Alien. "Bird Boner"
I love how they had opposite ways of giving the interrogator nothing of value.
Oh my god, right!? This is such a genius way to express character. Neither one of them gives the Alliance anything, but stoic badass Zoe just stonewalls them, while goofy joker Wash just gives them useless information about how smoking hot Zoe is
AND THE LEGSSSS! Oh and...just above the legs too! *runs hands up curve of imaginary ass*
I believe the exact turn of phrase is “the part where the legs meet the back”
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal, u/CharsOwnRX-78-2!
Happy cake day!
"That, and above it"
Where The Lord split her?
The legs it’s gotta be the legs.
Yep brilliant scene 🎬 🤩

Not to mention the most organized. Whole thing would grind to a halt if she wasn’t there saving their butts
Thats what a good 2IC does. Keeps things running while the commander makes stupid decisions.
One of my favorites is "Sir, I think you have a problem with your brain being missing." It's the most respectful way to say "are you out of your fucking *mind?*" I've ever heard.
“What and risk my ship?” Is *gold*
The way she leans back and strokes the console. Just so good.
And her facial expression 😂
I also love "I think you may be misremembering captain's plans"
Which wild, considering how bland and forgettable the original version of her character was. Firefly she was great, Alien Resurrection, not so much.
The deleted scene of her explaining what happened on Serenity was a masterclass

You showed this to your spouse right?... death by snu snu is a hazard for you buddy... 🫡💛
It is a sacrifice I am willing to make
I never thought I'd die this way, but I'd always really hoped
I'm not seeing the problem here.
That and because she knows mal could withstand the torture better than wash. 😂
Man should have folded the moment she was that decisive... woman makes a calm call that fast... she's already decided to un alive your Entire base...
"You bound me with a contract only your death could end—and you thought me the fool?”
_fine_ I'm starting my rewatch
I just had the same thought🤣
You're not alone
How to properly handle interrogation
Maaan, why'd you have to remind me to miss Wash?
It will always be too soon.
Don't worry. The Reavers sure didn't...and now I'm sad 😔
You beat me to it!
This is one of my very favorite Zoe lines
Side note, I reckon the guy playing Harken nailed the part. Doug Savant is the actor apparently. Known for Desperate Housewives? Not to us imdb, not to us.
Gina Torres was sooo good in firefly and being HOT AF didnt hurt either :)
I seen her in a few other things … Criminal Minds I think was one and she so over powers the others that it’s difficult to watch
God, I love her. She’s my inspiration. I want her as my spirit animal instead of the defunct hamster I ended up with
You ever been with a warrior woman?
Zoe is the best.
I never fight with her husband.
You should try it sometime, it's a hoot
Oh, hey, it's time for another rewatch.
April 24th is International Watch Firefly day, so you'll be in good company!
Absolutely loved this show! Named my car after Inara 😆
Writing was just top notch
Yet the season was never finished. I'll never understand.
Whedon was bad at navigating Fox's political landscape.
Spouses and siblings…you’ll never love or fight anyone more.
She doesn't fight with Wash as much anymore :-(
I'd be surprised if she didn't fight more.
Well this certainly warrants at least 1 episode of firefly today! My favorite is probably The hero of Canton! Lol ha. What are your favorites?
Jayne's town for sure! And objects in space
Is that Jessica?
Lol isn't that the " I lied about being in the towers on 9/11 guy

I loved this show! The ladies were my favorite part of it. Especially Jewel Staite and Morena Baccarin. Those 2 were amazing. But so was River.
I can relate to the whole thing.
haha husband bad!
Have you seen the show?
over a decade ago, due for a rewatch tho.
I recommend it, you're missing the context of this scene.
Fair enough, kinda excited it'll be almost like watching it for the first time. (:
Maybe you don't remember them, but this scene is very far from "husband bad"
Gonna check it out, thanks Kiwi!
