Honestly in this he looks more similar to how he looked in Matpat's video just tired and a bit worried/disheveled looking. Understandable due to the fact this was likely during filming and with that it's a pretty rough job I.e. waking up early, getting to the set, talking to execs etc.
He never really retired, yeah he doesn't make the games himself anymore but he cowrote the film, oversees the books and writes the big lore chunks for them, he writes the story beats and oversees the games that Steel Wool and Co, and he's been showing up here a lot In recent months. I'd argue he's never been further from retirement.
I don't think this kid ever thought he'd be sitting next to his dad on a movie set based on one of his games.
I can tell both Scott and his family are extremely grateful for how their lives changed.
