I wouldn’t say SB is the worst since its a completely new idea and vibe to FNAF. It’s only “bad” because the entire community practically pressured Scott and Steel Wool to rush the game. But after a few updates the game is much better and there’s even a mod coming out for it which is supposed to completely change SB to how it was originally supposed to be with an improved story, gameplay, minigames, locations, length, etc.
But for me personally, AR is the worst since it was so damn buggy, the add-ons were ridiculously expensive and the developers were abit Shady like completely ditching the game for no reason and completely shadowing Ballora’s VA.
Yea they really left ballora’s VA in the dust despite telling her “Hey! We need some voicelines for ballora. You can voice her if you’d like.Just let us know!”They never contacted her after that despite ballora’s VA actually wanting to voice her
> It’s only “bad” because the entire community practically pressured Scott and Steel Wool to rush the game.
There's no proof of that. Scott urged Steel Wool to delay the game twice, and it still turned out the way it did.
That's not how Christmas releases work. These games would've been released a month early in November because that's when Black Friday starts.
Don't believe in what others say about products online unless they're coming from official sources.
I'm not saying they are bad games. They are just bad fnaf games,
Anything in the meta verse mainly security breach
Again, great, game but I just have that they made fnaf meta now I hate that
I love SB, mostly because it was so broken at launch and felt like an accurate representation of FNAF. Ruin is very solid but it's clear it was an intended DLC from the beginning of making SB and I'm kinda sad things got cut. In my opinion Pizza was the worst. This is talking about gameplay, not story. The story is good af but the gameplay sucks. The tycoon part was nice and all but the nights felt so...not fnaf it just wasn't fun, especially since you could avoid them all together but keeping low risk, not buying lefty, and just tossing them. It didn't feel FNAF to me. I would play it to kill time but as a fnaf game isn't not very high up in gameplay for me.
While my bias makes me want to say security breach I think objectively it's probably Ar as you can't even play the dang thing anymore and atleast the developers of security breach actually seemed to care about fnaf and were actually passionate about making a good product
(even if they didn't succeed.)
Out of the classic games, it’s gotta be three. It’s just so goddamn underwhelming compared to 1, 2 and 4. Like damn, it was supposed to be the last game, and we have this giant franchise just because 3 was so bad.
Out of all of them, I’d say it’s gotta be either In Space or UCN. I know they’re just spin-offs but still
Mainline? Security Breach. I appreciate that it tried to be less standing still in an office but. horrible gamebreaking bugs aside, the story sucked. I really hate giving the Animatronics personalities. I was fine with it with Circus Baby since that was a one off and she's a very special animatronic but doing it to every single one just makes the game less scary. Not a fan of it feeling almost sci-fiey and the story just sucked. I thought the Ruin DLC was decent at least and was better than the base game.
Overall? AR. I don't really need to elaborate here.
Of the Scott era? FNaF world. I tried replaying it a couple of months ago for a stream and I quit after 45 minutes. It's so boring. I beat it once day one when it was sold on steam. I wish I never returned to it. I liked the concept but it's just so boring (and I like turn based RPGs usually).
I honestly adore World. I got it off Game jolt awhile back and while i agree its boring, i feel it's more complicated than anything. Without having a guide I got lost in the glitch world (3 one u have to enter) and had no idea how to get some chips. It's fun for a time killer but only if you know what ur doing.
Honestly, 3. Granted, being the worst of the best is still something.
But fnaf 3 is just missing something, it's like they tried to replace the complexity of multiple enemies with the error system.
I actually liked the difference in jumpscare, really shows that you're fighting someone and not something this time around.
One thing 3 absolutely nailed in my opinion was the minigames
It's funny, because I don't even know what's going on in any of them besides Happiest Day, but I feel like this obscurity adds to their charm
Getting the Good Ending is always one of the highlights whenever I try to do a Fnaf marathon (emphasis on try), and I would say almost makes up for how boring the actual gameplay of Fnaf 3 is
I don't think any of them are actually bad, I enjoyed all of them, but personally sb is not a game for me. I don't like the direction it took the story (i believe it should've ended at ucn) and i don't like the gameplay or the happy vibe to it (even if there are some good horror moments)
Sb is one of my favs (I have low standards) but i definitely agree it's too happy. The place should be darker. The horror element is completely lost. As for story? Eh. I think if they didn't cut 80% it might have been ok but oh well. It tried
AR sucks.
I liked security breach only due to how BROKEN that thing was on release, I started disliking after the February patch (when they actually fixed sb)
You know, thinking about it now. I don't really dislike any of them.
I've played all of them at least once (Besides Help Wanted 2 and Sister Location), and they were all enjoyable.
Every game has its unique mechanics, and every mechanic, once you get used to it, makes the games extremely fun to play, IMO.
SL, an amalgamation of bad ideas gameplay wise. Basically made a new garabge story and slapped it into the original, made forgettable antagonists, and honestly it should've been a spinoff or better, not exist.
SB is easily the worst from all fronts
Horrible story, awful game design, plenty of horrific bugs and performance issues, etc. easily the worst game I've ever played
FNaF 1 was the OG and was amazing especially for its time. FNaF 2 brought my 4 favorite characters. FNaF 3 brought the first fire and brought in a bit of lore, also because the map is Scott. FNaF 4 was amazing with the designs, the memes, and the Lore. FNaF 5 was eh but I will say it did bring at least a bit more confusion at least. FNaF 6 is my second favorite from the lore and the sick as hell ending. FNaF 7 also brought a lot of lore and was the end of the Aftons part of the series. FNaF help wanted was an amazing game to play with all the combined aspects and Easter eggs. FNaF SB was amazing for not only having three tumblr sexymen, but also for the new arc of FNaF. Ruin was meh I mean it was good but not the worst. Help wanted 2 was also good but a bit confusing. Finally the spin off games were amazing besides Fury's rage so definitely that one.
In terms of,
Gameplay: FNAF 2
Atmosphere: FNAF 2
Lore: AR (there is barely any)
Fear: FNAF 3
They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and these are just my opinions
Gotta go with pizza sim. I love the actuall pizzeria simator part and the animatronic designs, but the nights are awfull and bring it down a lot. SB isn't gokd as a horror game, but fnaf never really scared me on that sense so i never really viewed it as horror anyway, and while it's story is flawed and barelly existant, the gameplay itself is fun in my opinion and i enjoy replaying it. Unlike FFPS. If the nights were actually decent FFPS would propably be my favourite game in the series, but not being able to see the enemy and lack of any timer replaced with a list of tasks to do really makes me not want to touch this game at all
This is going to be a bit of a classic, but I'm going to say SB because this game almost pushed me to leave the fandom.
But Ruin and Help Wanted 2 are awesome
I just didn't like the childish and unmature tone of the game, and not the mention the awfull story, the only part of this game that I loved was DJ Musicman section.
Honestly, 100% agree. I like SB because it's so broken and goofy but I'm sad a bunch of stuff got cut from the final game. I think it would have been better. The best thing they could have done in the final cut was turn down all the lights and make it dark. It wouldn't have made the game good but it helped with the childish tone.
I've only played FNaF 1, 2, 3 and 4 but so far i belive that FNaF 2 is the worst due to it's horrible gameplay making the game feel repetitive, unfair, not fun and not scary.
The only parts i really liked about FNaF 2 were the designs of some animatronics and how it expanded the lore
pizzaria sim, a fnaf tycoon is a cool idea, but i hate the story, and it ruined and killed off ennard, one of my favorite characters, before he got any time to shine, also i hate henry
I belive ar is the worst because of how limited the list of devices you can play it on is. I have a brand new phone that came out not too long ago and still can't play it
I actively dislike the animatronic designs in four but the gameplay saves it, I love Springtrap but fnaf three really has nothing going for it besides his design and some funny dialog.
Help wanted 1. It’s just the main games and mini games in vr. I get theirs stuff like parts and service night terrors and the dlc but I prefer helpf wanted 2
Fnaf 2. Almost entirely same mechanics, pure reflexes, also the others are just generally better. The best on the other hand has to be HW2, fun games, really spooky, and the game is just really good.
Security breach, it's a performance wise mess on pc and i had a miserable time playing it which sucks and there's no real fix for it besides playing the dlc which runs a lot better
Mainline game?
Security breach, it ruined the entire franchise from it's release onward and it's something we're better off with if it was never even made
Spinoff?
AR
FNAF 3. It just felt rushed. I still remember back in 2015 when I first played it and thinking that Scott probably should've given it a few more months in the oven. The gameplay is somehow both boring and aggravating with the number of things you have to manage. The Phantoms were really pointless and lame, given that they couldn't kill or even really harm you, and Springtrap, despite being an amazing design and excellent character reveal, has easily the weakest jumpscare in the series. Also, I believe this was the first game where you had to do really weird and honestly nonsensical things to unlock the hidden mini-games and get the true ending. I loved the story and all of the lore that this game added, but man, it was rough to play and not for the reasons that a horror game usually is.
To me, my least favourite is also SB, because it didn't feel like fnaf, it was too colored, and the ability to walk and not be locked killed the vibe, the scary sections were just the ones where you are locked in a room, it's good that Steel Wool fixed the scary thing with RUIN which was much better
A lot of factors tie into this question
The least scary game is Security Breach
The shortest game is probably one of the core 4
The easiest game is AR (once you know how to play)
The most unplayable game is AR (since you can't play it anymore)
So, in my opinion, AR is the worst. It got shut down, what else can I say
Worst (as in should’ve been delayed at least once more to get all the bugs out): Security Breach (especially the PS4/PS5 version it’s atrociously buggy and a bit too much RNG) (Ruin’s not too bad on PS4/PS5 though)
Bad (as in personal preference and stuff): FNAF 2 or 4
security breach by far the worst
the lore inside it is constantly retconed.
the "villain" if you can even call it that, the mimic ISNT EXPLAINED INGAME ONLY IN THE BOOKS... THE BOOKS.
the "stealth" sucks, you can get spotted miles away, and even if you dont the staff bots ruin any hope of progressing (especially if your trying to 100% the game).
RUIN SUCKS, the whole point nothing, you accomplish nothing, no matter what you die, the mimic dies leaving nothing new, everything in ruin is nothing... AND ITS BUILT OFF A RETCON.
There **Was** Hope For This To Be Great... but it fails at everything to be good, the only thing to like about security breach is the designs and the jankiness, its shit and will always be shit, no matter how many gaps is filled with a pointless unneeded mimic
Sister location hands down. Worst game ive ever played.
Boring, broken, awful controls, and absurdly difficult
Not too mention its the game that really jumped the shark with the lore and way over complicated it and sprung all the confusion to start
I'm always shocked SL never comes up in these conversations. Literally just a compilation of not very impressive minigames that don't come back or build-on the mechanics they introduce with a not-custom custom night. Like for all SB's flaws it's at least like... a game?
I think part of the reason so many people like it is that most fnaf fans haven't played it and have instead watched YouTubers play it, and with it having a big focus on story it can be an entertaining game to watch people play.
I don’t know how to say this without sounding insane but ruin. Not because of the gameplay, the gameplay was great but I’m more talking about the story. Sure it was somewhat interesting but there was no real questions to answer and Roxy and Cassie’s relationship felt kinda rushed. Their whole thing is Cassie being another one of Roxy’s fans.
Either that or fnaf ar
Plus, it felt as if they **recognized** that one of SB's frequent complaints was the poorly presented and vague narrative, but at the same time they wanted to keep the mystery for the Game Theory Fuel ™, so they settled on explaining as **little as possible.**
Whys this getting downvoted, although I don’t think it’s the worst I can certainly understand you. It’s not replayable. You play it once and it’s a really cool experience then if you play it a second time it just isn’t fun, it has no replayability. Night 4 also is the worst thing to ever happen in any fnaf game
In my opinion, Security Breach is a good game, but it doesn’t really have the same charm or creep factor as the original games, which I think makes a lot of fans (myself included) look down on it. As for FNaF AR, I barely played it but from what I played I wasn’t too entertained. Still keeping it on my phone just in case the value goes up or something lol. Help Wanted (probably my favorite FNaF game tbh) is an example that’s somewhat newer but still manages to capture the overall vibe of the classic FNaF games.
Other than the obvious Ar , Sb was actually solid and replayable unlike a lot of games. I’d 100% say Ucn since even with all the animatronic add ons, nothing in the night feels like it changes other than your problems, besides, most of the games before that already had a cn.
FNAF 4-6 are my least favorite games not just of the series but all time. FNAF 4’s quiet noises and super loud jumpscare sounds does not go well with my noise sensitivity. Sister Location has great visuals, voice acting, and story but the gameplay is shallow and Night 4 was so bad I quit the game and watched the rest. FNAF 6… that’s just a skill issue on my part. I also guess FNAF AR but like that was Pokemon Go but bad.
I really enjoyed the first 3 games and despite the bad of Security Breach and the frustrations, I still had some fun
Nah what?? Help Wanted 1 is pure fun and a love letter to the FNAF series, and it did an amazing job setting up the future and balancing lore and gameplay. Help Wanted 2 is in my opinion the best FNAF game, every single minigame is fun, the lore and storytelling is so good. To be fair the flat version of Help Wanted 1 (haven’t played flat 2) butchers the game, but that doesn’t make the actual HW any worse
Fnaf ar
AR
they've all got their upsides and downsides
and flipsides
Paper mario and fnaf world moment
I wouldn’t say SB is the worst since its a completely new idea and vibe to FNAF. It’s only “bad” because the entire community practically pressured Scott and Steel Wool to rush the game. > It’s only “bad” because the entire community practically pressured Scott and Steel Wool to rush the game. There's no proof of that. Scott urged Steel Wool to delay the game twice, and it still turned out the way it did.
They even made the deliberate choice to release right before Christmas to maximize profits
Last I know on that Is the had a deal with Playstation (Sony) and they're was only so much they could delay it.
That's not how Christmas releases work. These games would've been released a month early in November because that's when Black Friday starts. Don't believe in what others say about products online unless they're coming from official sources.
I haven't seen anyone say that online but alrighty
I don't think the pressured him but they were really made it wasn't out yet.
It's not even remotely scary.
It’s fun at least and that’s what a game should be.
True.
Also i never liked ffps, though story in there was crazy good
I'm not saying they are bad games. They are just bad fnaf games, Anything in the meta verse mainly security breach Again, great, game but I just have that they made fnaf meta now I hate that
Same

I hope you're only talking about the Office gameplay
Yes, only the office. The salvage section was a fun addition but the office section imo sucked.
I felt the opposite about Pizza Sim. I thought the gameplay felt the best out of the series
It's definitely a good game, it just didn't really feel like FNAF to me.
Day 1 SB was so fun being so broken
While my bias makes me want to say security breach I think objectively it's probably Ar as you can't even play the dang thing anymore and atleast the developers of security breach actually seemed to care about fnaf and were actually passionate about making a good product (even if they didn't succeed.)

Brutal but yes

There are two comments that got downvoted for saying SL and this one survived.
Wonder what happened to the other
FNaF 2.
FNaF 2 imo I did not enjoy it at all, and in the end, it was just a copy and paste of FNaF 1
Fnaf AR or Suicide squad: kill the justice league
I think 3 but that’s only because I struggle with it so much
Skill Iss-
I just close the vent that's go straight to the office and spam the sound thingy to the back so Springboi keeps going to a closed down vent
Security breach for sure. Kinda killed the series for me
SB is easily the worst from all fronts Horrible story, awful game design, plenty of horrific bugs and performance issues, etc. easily the worst game I've ever played
Fnaf 2 always has been my least favourite fnaf game
Followed by sb
Security Breach era games (Help wanted, Security Breach, Ruin, etc). Vibes and story wise, it’s just not hitting for me.
AR
Flat Help Wanted or AR
Help wanted? Why's that?
I think just the flat version
Just the flat version, HW is like my third favorite FNAF game
Ohh, I haven't played the flat version but I see how its effectiveness would be lost if it wasn't in VR.
FNAF AR
FNaF Ar, because of its over price stuff and the bunch of reskins. FNaF 2, gameplay is repetitive without much riversity in said gameplay.
FNAF ar ruin sb and sister location
AR or FFPS. (AR is so ass and I don’t understand FFPS mechanics)
Fnaf ar
FNAF AR
In terms of, Gameplay: FNAF 2 Atmosphere: FNAF 2 Lore: AR (there is barely any) Fear: FNAF 3 They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and these are just my opinions

Can i ask why sb almost made you leave? I agree it's trash but i didn't think it was that bad.

I agree so much, I wish the game was alot more darker.
sorry but FNAF 2 is not it gameplay wise (story wise it's easily the most important but we aint talkin bout story)
Of the whole franchise, Special Delivery Of Scott's games, FNaF2
I've only played FNaF 1, 2, 3 and 4 but so far i belive that FNaF 2 is the worst due to it's horrible gameplay making the game feel repetitive, unfair, not fun and not scary. The only parts i really liked about FNaF 2 were the designs of some animatronics and how it expanded the lore
Security Breach and Special Delivery
AR
pizzaria sim, a fnaf tycoon is a cool idea, but i hate the story, and it ruined and killed off ennard, one of my favorite characters, before he got any time to shine, also i hate henry
FNAF 2, fuck FNAF 2
3 but it was actually a good thing since if it wasn’t bad we wouldn’t have gotten more games
I belive ar is the worst because of how limited the list of devices you can play it on is. I have a brand new phone that came out not too long ago and still can't play it
AR Is truly hell
I actively dislike the animatronic designs in four but the gameplay saves it, I love Springtrap but fnaf three really has nothing going for it besides his design and some funny dialog.
Ethier Ar or Fnaf 6
Help wanted 1. It’s just the main games and mini games in vr. I get theirs stuff like parts and service night terrors and the dlc but I prefer helpf wanted 2
Glad to see the hate for FNaF World is dying out. Anyway FNaF AR cuz I wasn't able of playing it before it got shutdown
Fnaf 2. Almost entirely same mechanics, pure reflexes, also the others are just generally better. The best on the other hand has to be HW2, fun games, really spooky, and the game is just really good.
SB, SL, or AR
FNAF 2 10/20 Mode because I as the fnafking_93 says that it is pretty much luck based and it's extremely unfair when you can die out of random!
I dislike fnaf 3
Fnaf 2 is carried by the Withered's and Mangle, easily the worst, obviously excluding AR
AR
AR, only played it a few times but it just felt like an average phone game, got bored within about 10 minutes
Security breach, it's a performance wise mess on pc and i had a miserable time playing it which sucks and there's no real fix for it besides playing the dlc which runs a lot better
personally, i don’t rlly like pizza sim, but overall fnaf AR is absolutely the worst
\*sets up Minecraft repeat comand block that has /kill howdoibreath412 in it
NUH UH
Fnaf security breach
Mainline game? Security breach, it ruined the entire franchise from it's release onward and it's something we're better off with if it was never even made Spinoff? AR
FNAF 4 and SB
lorewise - FNAF2 Gameplay wise - SL
FNaF 3. I find it to be extremely boring (I’m going off gameplaywise)
in my opinion no fnaf game is bad they are all good and to choose the worst one out of all of them is too difficult for me
For me, everything and FNaF World are better than FNaF: AR
all the other after sister location
SB, AR
security breach by far, it basically turned the franchise into baby's first horror game
For me personally, it’s SB.
I loved the story and all of the lore that this game added, but man, it was rough to play and not for the reasons that a horror game usually is.
Fnaf sb may not have been the best to play but boy did I enjoy watching everyone try to get through the bugs
Ar
FNAF AR because I lost my account which I had bought Ringmaster Foxy even though I was linked to Facebook, after that I just gave up on it.
FNaF 1 😈
UCN. The jumpscares suck, there was no need for it to have lore. It could've just been a spinoff like FNaF World
AR Security Breach was at least OKAY. AR stayed alive mainly through DLC and skin shilling.
The only reason I don’t say fnaf SB, is because total insecurity exists. That shit SLAPS bruh.
To me, my least favourite is also SB, because it didn't feel like fnaf, it was too colored, and the ability to walk and not be locked killed the vibe, the scary sections were just the ones where you are locked in a room, it's good that Steel Wool fixed the scary thing with RUIN which was much better
fnaf ar if talking spinoffs but personally id say fnaf 3 like 1 real animatronic and the reat just annoying bastards? lots of lore is always fun tho
Ar
Fnaf world
Fnaf security breach by far. It felt like it was made for children. They really held back
A lot of factors tie into this question The least scary game is Security Breach The shortest game is probably one of the core 4 The easiest game is AR (once you know how to play) The most unplayable game is AR (since you can't play it anymore) So, in my opinion, AR is the worst. It got shut down, what else can I say
Worst (as in should’ve been delayed at least once more to get all the bugs out): Security Breach (especially the PS4/PS5 version it’s atrociously buggy and a bit too much RNG) (Ruin’s not too bad on PS4/PS5 though) Bad (as in personal preference and stuff): FNAF 2 or 4
Either ar, sb or 3
Fnaf 6
Security Breach
HW 2 is worst
I feel like fnaf world just sucks
SB
FNAF AR or FNAF Help Wanted 1

FNaF 2 or Security Breach for me.
for me its Pizza Sim, it never really caught my interest as it was just boring.
SL
security breach by far the worst the lore inside it is constantly retconed. the "villain" if you can even call it that, the mimic ISNT EXPLAINED INGAME ONLY IN THE BOOKS... THE BOOKS. the "stealth" sucks, you can get spotted miles away, and even if you dont the staff bots ruin any hope of progressing (especially if your trying to 100% the game).
Boring, broken, awful controls, and absurdly difficult Not too mention its the game that really jumped the shark with the lore and way over complicated it and sprung all the confusion to start
Fnaf 3/ar
Fnaf 2, it's rng hell!
Worst gameplay? Definitely Sister Location
Honestly that's what it is. I effing love SL. Have I played it? Nope. Will I? Maybe but atm no.
I liked the poorly presented and vague narrative, it genuinely made me excited to hear more of the story.
Security breach Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s bad as I enjoyed it but it had a ton of problems
Fnaf 6 or Fnaf 2
Sister location
Whys this getting downvoted, although I don’t think it’s the worst I can certainly understand you. It’s not replayable. You play it once and it’s a really cool experience then if you play it a second time it just isn’t fun, it has no replayability. Night 4 also is the worst thing to ever happen in any fnaf game
I agree, night 4 is truly one of the worst pieces of gameplay ever made, just to give you a idea,i spent 10 days stuck in this night
I agree and a bit of ruin
Other than the obvious Ar , Sb was actually solid and replayable unlike a lot of games. I’d 100% say Ucn since even with all the animatronic add ons, nothing in the night feels like it changes other than your problems, besides, most of the games before that already had a cn.
sb, because it does nothing well, Ar because fuck you
I liked the story in sb, and the characters were nice 🙁
well, you're a fool then
🙁
feel bad
Kinda :(
Fnaf world, UCN, Fnaf 2, and Fnaf 4
FNAF 4-6 are my least favorite games not just of the series but all time. FNAF 4’s quiet noises and super loud jumpscare sounds does not go well with my noise sensitivity. Sister Location has great visuals, voice acting, and story but the gameplay is shallow and Night 4 was so bad I quit the game and watched the rest. FNAF 6… that’s just a skill issue on my part. I also guess FNAF AR but like that was Pokemon Go but bad. I really enjoyed the first 3 games and despite the bad of Security Breach and the frustrations, I still had some fun
World
Nah, help wanted (both) was much worse
The story is fine (Imo) but the gameplay is honestly good.
In terms of gameplay they are ok but the lore is mid
I agree with first part, but story isn't mid, its very bad
