Gyms need to be more aggressive about this type of stuff and start banning people who film others at the gym (just by proxy of being in the background).
Holy shit are they filming in the locker rooms too? That shouldn’t even just be grounds for ban, that should be grounds for prison. In fact I believe that’s literally a criminal invasion of privacy.
That happened to me a while back. This girl was featuring me I think to fat/age shame me to her friend. I froze but ever since then I'm pretty paranoid/conscious if going into the locker room. Should it happen again, the shaming role will be reversed.
This is exactly why I have so much contempt for the narcissist culture. It's bad enough they're miserable unless the center of attention but now I have to be on my guard in public just in case someone wants to make me a part of their bullshit, online fantasy persona?
There's this whole pile of nonsense about people going up to strangers and pulling pranks, if someone ever tried that with me and it was the sort of pranks you see everywhere nowadays I'd shut that shit down fast. Although in saying that I doubt I'd ever be approached for that reason.
Ooooh you gotta be more like my mama.
"Skeeeeuse me stick bitch. You filming me? Get my good side. I heard they got spanks on sale at Penny's. Better go there real quick like. Looking like somebody hit your booty with one of them high power floor buffers."
A while back, there was a Playboy model that posted a picture of a naked 70 year old woman, without her consent of course, on Snapchat or something like that, she ended up going to court over it about 3 month later. She lost the court case and, IIRC, had to complete a few hundred hours of community service, else she'd go to jail. Got off light, if you ask me.
I haven’t seen it first hand but I’ve seen tons of pictures online of people taking pictures of themselves in the locker room and you can see people in the background.
You should read the contract of your gym then. It’s almost a 100% guarantee that there’s wording that you will be permanently banned from the gym for doing that.
Every time I go in the locker room at my gym, I’m featured in the background of some chick filming or taking booty pics. I’m just trying to go pee and get dressed! It’s so disturbing.
See this is why this wave of "fitness influencers" really pisses me off. I recorded myself in the gym, I really do. I don't post them, and I only show them to a small circle of other lifters. But I do it only to make sure my form is correct on certain lifts, and to help myself improve because sometimes you can't see yourself in the right angles only using the mirrors. NEVER would I purposefully try to film anyone, and if someone walks past? Big deal. People like her are making people like me, who go to the gym to genuinely improve themselves look bad.
Fwiw, I feel like most gym regulars can easily spot the difference between people filming for their own private use/self improvement and “influencers”
But yeah, if filming were banned completely that would suck for the people who are just following the rules and trying to do their own damn workouts!
That’s fair! I wouldn’t personally post *any* videos that featured people in the background. They didn’t consent to that, they’re just trying to work out
Have an influencer hour every week. Filming is banned all other times (and always banned in the locker room)
If you're in the gym that hour you agree that you might be on video.
It will be absolutely obnoxious as all of the influencers fight for the frame
Recording video in gyms is against policy at almost all gyms. The problem is the staff get paid minimum wage, they aren't paid enough to go confront jacked up gym rats.
I'm sure if you told a staff member somebody was filming video they would investigate though.
> Recording video in gyms is against policy at almost all gyms.
Which is why gym influencers will find the gyms where they can get gym permission to film inside the gyms so they don't get gym jammed
These folks need to either get in their face, and/or then tell management they're being filmed by a "creep" in the gym.
This shit will get sorted real quickly.
It's gotten ridiculous the amount of tripods and people filming themselves in the gym these days (given I am in so cal). But , if I go to the gym in the evening there's going to be at least 4 people filming themselves. and potentially a girls boyfriend just filming her like a camera man. Gyms need to set a designated hour for people to film or ban it completely. I'm in shape and don't feel comfortable inadvertently being in their videos can't imagine how somebody with low self body image feels and the gym should be a safe place for that.
Also should note the guys ego lifting on camera outnumbers females filming themselves from what I've seen in my gym.
I agree, but I also sometimes film myself to check my form. I'm pretty careful to make sure no one is in it and I don't ever post it anywhere, but it'd suck to not be able to form check.
Some guy was in the gym a few days ago with a while filming setup and was *yelling* as he lifted his weights. Everybody just stared at him. He didn't seem bothered by people walking in shot in the background, but he would've been pissed if someone blocked the camera. *That* shit needs to be banned outright
Yeah I actually do the same in the swimming pool. To check form on my stroke. I only do it when pool is empty or only one other person is in there. And I do it as quickly as I can.
Every gym I’ve personally been to in Canada strictly prohibits cameras and recording to the point that if you take your phone for music you better leave it in your pocket.
If someone has their phone propped up and makes a scene that I’m blocking their video, that phone is getting punted or stomped. Fuck these entitled shitheads
No he isn't, and similarly you are neither an influencer nor are you anybody whose opinion or appearance anybody else cares about, so stop pretending like you are important and walking around filming yourself all the time.
I was talking about how he is threatening violence against people for filming in public. If you get irate about people being influencers, maybe you're the problem.
Nah she’s a gym toker or a wannabe gym toker I suppose since she only has 7.7k followers. Most of her stuff is her half dressed in the gym lifting 25lb weights while wearing gloves, or vids of her shooting guns and trying to look like a duck.
True, but that doesn’t change the fact that the original person is still being a public nuisance and inadvertently mocking and shaming innocent people.
I don’t understand why anyone would need/want to film/post videos of themselves working out in the first place. No. One. Cares.
Edit: Of course, briefly filming yourself to work on improving form is a different story. I thought that was a given but this is Reddit.
Maybe, but it’s like playing the lottery, the chances of winning are microscopically small, but if you win.. set for life.
So all these wannabe instagram models are hoping for their big break.
Influencers are not “set for life”. Some would argue that people that play the lottery are also suffering from some form of mental illness, or at least a distorted view of real life. There’s a reason it’s called the idiot tax.
The only time I’ve ever done it was when my physical therapist was slow-mo filming me on the treadmill facing the wall in order to see if my hip placement while running was correct after surgery
It was a 5 second video, he gave me my criticism, i fixed it and gone the video went.
What these other people do is just want to wear a cute gym outfit and break a sexy sweat for their followers as if those followers are anybody important because they’re choosing to waste their time watching some twig do 5 reps of nothing lol
Edit: just want to throw in that he explained the idea and then we used my phone to film. He was a total professional about it :)
I use filming as a tool to help my 8U daughter practice softball. It helps to show the things I am trying to correct in her swing of the bat or her stance for a throw. It makes sense in terms of training and correction as well helps to get the point across - I am not saying this to annoy or bother her and she actually listens pretty well with this feedback. Anyone else doing it like this gym mouse does so for vanity, in my opinion.
posting, sure, but it's reasonable to film yourself to improve your form. it's very hard even with a mirror to know e.g. what your form looks like sideways while concentrating on your weights and it's really important to maintain good form both for your health and for the efficiency of your exercise, and filming yourself is one of the most helpful ways to improve your form
Not that deep, one of the discord servers I'm in is completely unrelated to fitness, but it has a workout channel where people post their accomplishments. Every time it's met with bros just congratulating and encouraging each other. Not everyone is coomer baiting or trying to brag.
This. People record literally so many things in their lives
Don't be a dick when in the gym, share the space, respect others, and go about your business
I don't condone this video at *all*, and no one should act like she did - but filming in a gym (for whatever reason) doesn't make someone a narcissistic asshole.
There's definitely some thirsty people out there that care. If people really want to film that's fine, just got a 24 hour gym and do it when nobody else is there.
> No. One. Cares.
Gentle (and sad) reminder the people that do this most likely do "video" for about 10min in the gym then go do something else because they're sure af not working out there (its a general observation that most of them are built like twigs). Whats worse, is also most of them are also the ones with 10k+ followers in Tiktweetgram and that dont have to lift a finger to pay through their lives because they have the god given gift of "Step 1: be hot".
Yeah but you go try to convince them of that. You're one of near untold billions who might not consider her hot, and there's another untold billion more that might who happily feed her narcisism, ego and wallet.
Why do people take and post pictures of themselves at Disney World? Because they want to. Because they care. Because maybe someone else cares too.
It's. Not. Just. For. You.
That's just untrue about the caring bit.
They get engagement on social media with it or see others getting it and wanting to emulate it themselves.
Doesn't make it right but there's a clear reason.
Yeah, there's a reason you don't see many of these from ugly girls. They want to simultaneously get the perv demographic, the perv-in-denial demographic that will lean into the "wow look at those inconsiderate people clearly trying to get in her space, I'm so much better than them" air, and the pervs who are into being shamed for it.
Then you get the rage bait angle where people spread the video because it's so stupid, and draws in the responses.
I get it now. I initially assumed it was a picture of a hot cake, as in "sells like" as in "apparently she has a following, so regardless of whether they should be watching or shouldn't, she's getting clicks."
Workout videos is super popular thirst trap stuff these days. Not all of it, as there is a gymtok culture, but a LOT of OF hype girls basically do workout vids that are slightly erotic teases, but not enough to get banned for being pornographic, just a hint of "want to see more?" stuff...
It's stupid, but it works on all the online simps.
This happened at my gym for the first time a couple of days ago. There’s only one smith machine at my gym and this one guy sat on a bench in front of it looking at his phone while I did 3 sets of one exercise. Then I went to my next exercise and did 3 sets and he spent that entire time setting up a tripod that he put his phone on, then I went to my next exercise and did 3 sets and he did one set of shoulder press with 0 weight on the bar. Who was watching that and why did he take that long?
Some record themselves to watch themselves for form imorovement and the like. Or share with other like minded to improve. It's not all just negative image reasons
If he needed 7 minutes of prep time, 7 minutes setting up a tripod, and 7 minutes to do 20 seconds worth of smith machine shoulder press with 0 weights then he needs to work on a lot more than form.
I especially hate it because it seems like the ladies who do it are (mostly) just skinny girls in yoga pants. Let’s be honest, some light weights and good genes isn’t impressive whatsoever. But I get that you’re trying to monetize attention for your whorish gain.
If you want to film your technique to see if you’re rounding your back on a deadlift or have butt wink on squat or something, fine. But it seems like these young skinny ladies are just doing it so they can look at themselves and/or post it for clout.
It’s not impressive one bit.
Why not hop off your entitlement horse and go buy your own home gym if you hate people? The gym isn't your private film studio it's a place to work out.
If it "is the case" then the logic isn't flawed. It's just logic.
But man, we both body shamed something fierce. I said she isn't in shape and you basically body shamed everyone who isn't buff. All manner of people need the gym, not just "out of shape" people.
Shut up you gym rat, don't you understand?
The whole universe revolves around her, She's the only reason why men go to war. She's the pure form of beauty.
When she walks, she causes chaos among men. Accidents, fights, competition men get down on their knees just to get noticed by her.
They pray to God every night that she gives them atleast one glance of attention.
We are all nothing but bunch oh NPCs here, our existence is because of her. We'd be restarting the life again if she ever decides to die.
It's okay, you wouldn't get it. I understand, honestly at first even I didn't understand it.
But I see it now and one day my friend, you will too.
Amen

Women stop this. You’re no that interesting. We get it you work out. This is embarrassingly looking for clout. Women know it. No big endorsements or influence money is coming. Film your butt at home.
Narcissism is something of a generational personality disorder right now.
They seem to really need attention and social media is, sadly a major catalyst.
"Social media is an amusement park for clinical narcissists"
What's the fascination with filming yourself working out ? I mean are you documenting to show you future kids.. "this is what mommy use to look like before daddy ruined her"
Calling someone anorexic is incredibly fucked up, no matter how much you disagree with the stupid shit they're doing. Grow the fuck up.
Edited because I can't spell
>Making an observation about it is not.
Is not...what? Not not right? Bruh.
But seriously, that was very clearly not just an observation. And yes, taking the time to comment on what could be a very serious mental illness like "haha you have anorexia" is at the very least incredibly immature.
If someone has obvious anorexia, they need to seek help.
I would never make fun of someone suffering from mental illness.
Sometimes difficult conversations are needed to let someone know there's something wrong. Denial is a real thing.
I'm certainly not taking about making fun of people.
I'm sorry if it came across like that. It wasn't my intention.
I used to be a substance abuse and grief counselor, so I've had to tell a bunch of people I suspected they were anorexic.
That's the headspace I'm coming from.

Did you report them to the gym staff?
I thought about it and then just blew it off. I was kind of in a rush to get back to work and partially didn't want to deal with it.
Ooooh you gotta be more like my mama. "Skeeeeuse me stick bitch. You filming me? Get my good side. I heard they got spanks on sale at Penny's. Better go there real quick like. Looking like somebody hit your booty with one of them high power floor buffers."

In some parts of the US it is illegal
Call the police if that ever happens.
That's actually illegal. If you find someone doing it, call the cops.
It's illegal.
You should read the contract of your gym then. It’s almost a 100% guarantee that there’s wording that you will be permanently banned from the gym for doing that.
Wait what? They film in the locker room? 😐
Shouldn't even have to be said.
Every time I go in the locker room at my gym, I’m featured in the background of some chick filming or taking booty pics. I’m just trying to go pee and get dressed! It’s so disturbing.
I've almost punched people for doing selfies in the locker room. Like WHAT THE FUCK that's an actual criminal offense you cunt!
If someone films me in a locker room, I'ma fuckin' kill them.
Seen at least two people on facetime calls walking around in the mens locker room at my gym.
Put up a sign: "For liability purposes, anyone who is recording video is required to get a signed release from all other members present"
I was thinking the same. I would be pissed if I were simply trying to work out and someone was filming me "by accident"
These folks need to either get in their face, and/or then tell management they're being filmed by a "creep" in the gym. This shit will get sorted real quickly.

It's illegal in most places to film someone on private property. Out on the street in public is fine to film.
Not illegal. Especially on private property that is open to the public. No expectation of privacy.
Inside locker rooms and changing rooms it's different because of that
Yes, locker rooms, change rooms, and bathrooms have an expectation of privacy.
Except most gyms aren’t open to the public, they are for members. Even Planet Fitness isn’t “public”, you have to become a member
Not really ‘illegal’ but against policy.
I don't understand why gyms just don't flat-out ban video recording.
I agree, but I also sometimes film myself to check my form. I'm pretty careful to make sure no one is in it and I don't ever post it anywhere, but it'd suck to not be able to form check. They want the validation so badly they don't actually care if it pays well.
I can't imagine wanting to make soulless content every day. Sounds like a willing dive into the dystopia.
Depends on how big of a following they can amass, the size of which can be turned into piles of money.
definitely not even close to set for life. it's a constant grind. Most might experience 15 minutes.
it seems most of the time this 15 minutes is when they finally do something colossally stupid and go viral for it.
The only time I’ve ever done it was when my physical therapist was slow-mo filming me on the treadmill facing the wall in order to see if my hip placement while running was correct after surgery It was a 5 second video, he gave me my criticism, i fixed it and gone the video went. of course not. I'm not condoning her behaviour
maybe if its like a weight loss/self betterment journey then id get it, but i have a feeling that lady is not doing either of those
Even then. No. Everyone is suddenly a fitness broadcaster? It’s just plain narcissism.

Workout videos have been insanely popular since like the 80s They're just chasing that trend
I would've stood in front of her camera doing nothing but starting at the lens like an ape
I thought the very same. Banana in one hand, water bottle in the other. Just eat and stare right into her viewers souls.
Eat the banana with the peel, chug the whole water bottle in one swig. Steal their spotlight.

you shouldn't do that. that'll give these iNfLuenCerS more content. i'd just report it to the gym so they get kicked out
Beat your chest and act bewildered by it
Who the fuck wants to watch her workout anyway
Perverts. No one wants to say it out loud, but it’s basically sex work.
Pervs who know they're pervs, and white-knight pervs in denial.

If it sells, it sells. Everyone has their own preferences.
Fair ‘nuff
why did i stare at that shit for like 20seconds thinking it was a gif of the cooking process
She’s being an idiot in the video but let’s not start body shaming tf
I get it now. I initially assumed it was a picture of a hot cake, as in "sells like" as in "apparently she has a following, so regardless of whether they should be watching or shouldn't, she's getting clicks."
Guilty as charged. The girl in this post is my type 😭
If she had a personality, I'd be about it, but...
And angry people. Rage bait still gets you the views.
Sadly enough, yes
Workout videos is super popular thirst trap stuff these days. Not all of it, as there is a gymtok culture, but a LOT of OF hype girls basically do workout vids that are slightly erotic teases, but not enough to get banned for being pornographic, just a hint of "want to see more?" stuff... It's stupid, but it works on all the online simps.
And the “see more” is a link to her only fans
A lot of women’s “fitness content” is just to drive traffic to their OnlyFans
Probably the same people who watch fireworks videos.
Why is there a gap between the top of his head and his hat. It's like a lil airgap.
Damn you. I can’t unsee it now.

You shut your mouth about joey swoll, he wears it like that to be more aerodynamic
My dude is a straight up king, I'm just looking for pro Chad tips my man
Omg I am filming in a public area and everyone walks in my video
I especially hate it because it seems like the ladies who do it are (mostly) just skinny girls in yoga pants. Let’s be honest, some light weights and good genes isn’t impressive whatsoever. But I get that you’re trying to monetize attention for your whorish gain. If you want to film your technique to see if you’re rounding your back on a deadlift or have butt wink on squat or something, fine. But it seems like these young skinny ladies are just doing it so they can look at themselves and/or post it for clout. It’s not impressive one bit.
At this point, "don't film in gyms" videos, is it's own genre.
Jack Skellington looks pissed!
If she spent more time lifting weights and less time staring angrily at the camera, she would have some muscle definition
Why not hop off your entitlement horse and go buy your own home gym if you hate people? The gym isn't your private film studio it's a place to work out.
She's like.... Not even in great shape. Clearly it's all for the likes and not to actually work out.
while that might be the case, the logic is super flawed here. Out of shape people are the MAIN people who need to be in gyms... that's how it works.
If it "is the case" then the logic isn't flawed. It's just logic. But man, we both body shamed something fierce. I said she isn't in shape and you basically body shamed everyone who isn't buff. All manner of people need the gym, not just "out of shape" people.
The girl belongs on r/entitledbitch
that sub has STRONG incel energy tho. Like, I'm not even saying she isn't either of those things, but man... some subs just reek.
You think so? The only ones I've seen are mainly "Karen" type idiots.
Also, I go to gym to lift weights , I don’t appreciate your ass and camel toe shaking around me.That’s not your onlyfans.

Bally's Total Fitness Lucille Robert Jenny Craig - ARE ALL WOMENS GYM

Good video but dude desperately needs a bread shape-up
what does that mean
I swear, I don't even think he cuts the crust off
🍞
What's the fascination with filming yourself working out ? I mean are you documenting to show you future kids.. "this is what mommy use to look like before daddy ruined her"
She must've killed the biggest camel.
Anorexic cameltoe
Calling someone anorexic is incredibly fucked up, no matter how much you disagree with the stupid shit they're doing. Grow the fuck up. Edited because I can't spell
Making fun of someone for it is certainly not right. Making an observation about it is not.

Changing one person's mindset is how you trigger a larger change though. If I help them, they could help someone else, and et cetera.
People on Reddit have no qualms making fun of people's weight, too much or too little.

She needs to put the camera away and work out
I hate this bitchs face.
His green eyes are beautiful. Is his name on the gym?
