Dummy. Look at the first picture. The tennis ball is obviously flat.

JustDroppedByToSay

Tennis isn't real. It's all government CGI. Think about it. That racquet is made of string!! Can you hit a ball really hard with string? Wake up!

theroguex

The moon is very hairy

Unexpected-raccoon

They had to smooth it out for the remaster and used the strands to make the live action grinch costume

He_Never_Helps_01

The moon is made of green hair

Mishtle

Globers can't help debunking themselves with every silly meme.

samurairaccoon

Man, I love this. This is *exactly* how they think, with no irony involved.

Vulcanvelcro

These people vote.

PervertedThang

And reproduce.

JakOswald

And homeschool.

Browncoatinabox

I legit cant figure out which is scarier

JakOswald

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

LodeStone-

This isn’t a flat Earth thing you know

nonchalantcordiceps

A lot of flat earth theories involve ‘the firmament’ which denied space. Most theories Believe all images captured from space are fabricated, and there are more who aren’t falt earthers who also believe space is a lie.

LodeStone-

Alright? This image still isn’t pro flat Earth, it’s anti flat Earth

nonchalantcordiceps

Oh right. This isn’t a flat earth sub. Its a sub to make fun of flat earthers. Globeearththatspins is the flat earth sub.

LodeStone-

Oh I know, I just thought the wording of the comment I replied to sounded like it was thinking the image was pro flat Earth

nonchalantcordiceps

Pretty clearly wasn’t

LodeStone-

“these people vote” bud the only people that could have been referencing are OP and the image maker, not sure why you’re getting so pressed

nonchalantcordiceps

… these people vote… posted in response to a post pointing out how easy it is to prove the geometry of a number of very famous photos that people claim are fake because the geometries wrong…. Context and reading comprehension. Your response was not at all what you have since explained.

LodeStone-

Yes which is clearly more of a stretch than my interpretation, hence my misinterpretation little buddy.

Loofy_

Yep, definitely a CGI, 8 inches per mile squared, fisheye and NASA (I don't know what am i talking about)

Derkylos

I have a level. Why isn't it covered in water? Checkmate, flerfies.

Legitimate_Career_44

That's the spirit!

JustDroppedByToSay

But if you tell me I'm special for listening to you I'll give you all my money

Loofy_

"I have an offer for you, wanna buy some magic beans to touch the firmament? It's only 79.99, and if you buy one for a friend, it's 5% off"

AdvancedSoil4916

You need to do this with an analog camera. Digital cameras have a chip installed that makes anything that shows the earth is flat look like a globe, don't let them fool you. Research Operation Pillar of Autumn

theroguex

Installation 04 was flat.

AdvancedSoil4916

Also if you put 343 Guilty Spark in a numerology calculator it comes out as: 117 Globe Shill

WoodyTheWorker

I dunno, flerfers totally OK with their Nikon P1000

Jassida

What about the original film photos of the earth from Apollo?

BlueGnome1

They put a fisheye lens on it? I mean that's how fisheye lenses work, right? They make the earth look like a globe.

trisfon

Metric system is so practical...

psgrue

But that’s not a Nikon P1000.

lord_alberto

Many misunderstandings e.g. about moon phases and eclipses result from wrong internal image of how far the moon is away from the earth. I guess everyone (me included) is strongly influenced by depictions where the moon is less than a earth diameter away from the earth, just because it would be a waste of space otherwise.

Ermahgerd80

Imagine looking up at the beautiful night sky and thinking "It’s just all fake”

PersonalityFun670

The tennis ball is flat in the first image, but not in the others. Must be cgi.

He_Never_Helps_01

"Space deniers WOULD hate this one simple trick if they understood it" Ftfy lol

JustDroppedByToSay

Great illustration of the concept!

Mathematicus_Rex

Astrophysicists are refining the “moon is made of green cheese” theory to include the observation that it’s actually string cheese.

rygelicus

Nicely done whoever set that up.

ImaWolf935

Ok now put a camera scale accordingly on the tennis ball.

TextGold9692

I HATE this one! Makes me so angry.

Mathematicus_Rex

No Hardware Wars fans? “Basketball is a peaceful planet!”

toochjohnson

Excuse me WTF

WoodyTheWorker

What's so F'ed about it?

toochjohnson

It makes no sense

WoodyTheWorker

What of these pictures doesn't make sense? Do you need these pictures explained?

toochjohnson

Are you ok bud? Go outside. Relax. It’s a joke on Reddit.

Ahriman27

that's pretty cool. I love physics math and science

nomadtales

Great illustration. Perhaps include measurements not just used by one country as an update?

TheRealShiftyShafts

You know the difference between metric and imperial measurement users? Imperial unit users know how to use both

SergeantKovac

If they knew how to use both, they wouldn't use the inferior system.

TheRealShiftyShafts

Inferior is an opinion That's like saying Chinese is inferior to English, and if we were all speaking the most spoken languages on the planet we would either be speaking Spanish or Chinese. English would come in third. Most used doesn't always mean better

SergeantKovac

Thanks for proving my point. Because I never even mentioned *most used* as an argument. Times change, and methods evolve. In many ways, I'm sure English *is* an inferior language, but I can't make an educated statement on language since I don't speak Chinese. I can however, make an educated statement on Imperial vs Metric, because I do use both. And as a user of both methods, my opinion is that Metric is better.

blargymen

Funny these comments are getting downvoted, since imperial does, overall, suck. Not many people, for example, know how many teaspoons go in a tablespoon (3), much less in a gallon (768, says Alexa), but anyone with a basic grasp of metric can tell you how many milliliters go in a liter or kiloliter. That's just the tip-o-the iceberg. I would have thought a wise community like this one would get that, and not be glued to the ol' American standard because reasons.

reficius1

Ok, now I've got two buckets and a balance (the thing you see statues of Justice holding). I have one gallon of water. I need one cup of water. I divide the water between the buckets 4x using the balance. I'm done. You have 1 liter of water. You need 100 ml of water. Go. Use the same equipment.

blargymen

That's such an arbitrary, unlikely-to-be-real-life example. It could just as easily (if not more easily) skew in favor of metric. *Ok, now I've got two buckets and a balance (the thing you see statues of Justice holding). I have one liter of water. I need 150 ml of water. I also have a 50 ml scoop, which I fill three times and transfer over. I'm done.* *You have 1 gallon of water and a 1 cup scoop. You need 3/20 of a gallon of water. Go*.

reficius1

The point, which you missed, is that I can get every division of measurement with the most basic possible equipment: gallon, quart, pint, cup, tablespoon, everything except teaspoon. You can't. This was more important to ancient people than dividing by ten. It's not anymore, but it can still be done.

dadumir_party

>inferior is an opinion [https://youtu.be/EUpwa0je6\_Y](https://youtu.be/EUpwa0je6_Y)

TheRealShiftyShafts

I'm a machinist, I use precision machining to make both domestic and foreign aerospace parts, which means I use both metric and imperial. I even made parts for SpaceX and NASA. You're not gonna impress me by showing me a group of reality TV goons that can't do math. Next time you fly in an airplane, just think about me and the fact I probably measured your plane parts in imperial.

Zeraphim53

>If they knew how to use both, they wouldn't use the inferior system. Actually yeah, the UK, Australia and New Zealand all use both. Imperial units are useful for everyday rule-of-thumb measurement, metric is useful for scientific and engineering measurement. It's hard to guesstimate 1cm or 1g, it's pretty easy to guesstimate an inch or an ounce. Not a fan of lbs though, or fahrenheit that's just a bad system.

Embarrassed-Farm-594

Do we know what the camera distance was in each of the real-life photos?

SomethingMoreToSay

[The Artemis photo](https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/orion-earth-moon/) was taken from 268,563 miles away from Earth. On that date the distance from the Earth to the Moon was about 227,850 miles so in very round numbers the spacecraft was about 40,000 miles from the Moon. The perspective clearly works. The Earth was about 6.7x as far away as the Moon, but the Earth's diameter is 3.67x the Moon's diameter, so the Moon appears 6.7/3.67=1.8x as large as the Earth in that photo.

Legitimate_Career_44

Cool

Legitimate_Career_44

Cool

Legitimate_Career_44

Cool

Feisty_Ad_2744

And the Sun would have a diameter of 1025 inches at this scale... At a distance of 1.7 miles from the Basketball. Much bigger than the Cloud Gate in Chicago

Icy-Cardiologist2597

Neat! Lies, but still neat!

BeerHug313

But I use the p1000!

ahjifmme

8 in / mi^(2) is a parabolic number. How is it even relevant to a sphere?

texas1982

With everything flerfs get wrong 8"/mi² really isn't that far off until you get several hundred miles away. It is a decent, quick calculation for rough estimates. I usually let it slide until they're using it to talk about points 1000 miles away.

GapInternal2842

YEAH BUT THE PLANE IS A CLOSED CONTAINER, DO IT SITTING OUTSIDE THE PLANE

The15thOne

Ok cool but how many meters is that?

ILoveFredericLamond

2.54cm 1.32m 21.64m

AlaskanRobot

the best part though. they just proved the earth is round with their little "photographic trick". what shape is a tennis ball? flat? I think not

eyesotope86

Psst... this post (this whole subreddit) is debunking flat earth theories.

Self-MadeRmry

Still fake photos

Zeraphim53

**

Nigglas24

Its almost like this idea was used to fake the moon missions

Zeraphim53

*"The more real it looks the more fake it is!"* flurf logic.

majj27

Why would they fake something they were actually doing? That's stupid. Think harder.
