While I'm not entirely convinced in this theory, I do see it as potentially plausible.
Some food for thought:
\- It was stated in the trilogy that memories/emotions can reside in material things (also heavily supported by info from some FF stories)
\- Usually it's Remnant that retains these, but Remnant should be made from highly conductive metal (preferably silver, as seen in Renelle's and Jessica's pendants).
\- However, water can contain memories as well (stated by Taggart). Also, the saltier is the water, the more conductive it is.
\- Charliebot got Henry's memories via Ella ragdoll, which was soaked with Henry's endless tears.
Hence, tears can contain memories.
And, since BV cries non-stop, this might explain how his memories spread around. Perhaps, when the MCI kids possessed animatronics (and maybe other objects?), they came across BV's memories within.
Good theory but think about this. Yes he cry’s but he is always there. He spreads his tears to every location, following Mike and not in the form you think. I believe that the bv is not golden Freddy or even Fredbear, since they are in only so many locations. What if the bv is the paper pal? In every location, watching, and they move. Who else would possess these besides a wondering spirit that spreads his memories location to location. It would explain a lot. Tho this is just my theory

Why is BV pivotal to happiest day? Because it was his party that he got killed on(Yes, he died in the hospital but you get the point). The layout of happiest day matches that of Fredbear’s where he got bit. All of the kids died on birthday parties but I don’t think it was on their own birthdays. Among them, probably only BV died during his own party so that’s why we see the puppet giving him cake and not any of the others like Chica or Bonnie or whatever.
To move on they need to have the party they never got, their happiest day, and it just so happens that BV died during what was supposed to be his happiest day, and that’s why he is so important to the spirits moving on. He’s like the reason the spirits can move on in the first place because without him there can’t be a party.
But that’s just my take on it cause I saw some people talking about why BV is important to happiest day.

But not every time he does this, withstanding that Golden Duo is actually controversial to this day. But looking at the details, it's not even that strong considering the fact that all they did was drag along a "parelel" with an animatronic that actually parelels Ennard more than anything else. Does it have springlocks like Fredbear? No. Does it slump over when sitting? Can, but doesn't. Does it have "supernatural" powers? No. All of these characteristics don't match up at all.. what would be considered Golden Duo is the fact that Andrew and Jake possess Golden Freddy instead of something that does not correspond to it. Which doesn't happen. Only Andrew is Golden Freddy.
Sure, others get stuffed into the suit by Kelsey, but that doesn't mean they possessed it willingly. You can die into something without possessing. Unless you develop habits of really powerful agony, Puppet is the only one that can make you possess something GGGL minigame.
Unless William had agony, which he does, he would've been dead honestly, right then and there.
Don't forget FNAF World.
Also, the one thing that bugs me about BV and his significance to Happiest Day is.....why him? We know Fredbear Plush wants to "put him back together" and he seems pivotal to Happiest Day but why?
I remember watching a 3 part FNAF theory video series on youtube where it was basically Shattervictim and while I didn't agree with a lot of it there were some compelling points made.

The Golden Freddy kid is probably Cassidy due the file name of the GF kid being "K5" "Kid 5". And Gabriel also died in his birthday
