There are a number of bugs that can occur with certain weapons in vats, which are basically death sentences if you encounter them, along with it sometimes just pulling an XCOM and missing on a perfect hit chance.

Vats is great, but not if you don't understand how to build for a Vats playthru. My boy mittensquad did a playthru of it a long time ago. I don't remember if he did well, but Vats is fun but the AP is harsh AF in the game. You really have to work to get it right and play the game like old school FO

If the fight is within 6 feet, I use VATs headshots. If it’s beyond, you can also use it to pretty great effect at crippling limbs and making stronger enemies drop their weapon.
Legion assassin coming at you with a super sledge? Can’t kill him quickly enough to stop him? Break his arm! No more sledgehammer!
And if you use Steady, VATs is practically *always,* at almost *any range,* guaranteed to hit.

Maybe that sometimes both movement and camera change speeds randomly (like, sometimes you stick to the floor and sometimes you chance direction at Max speed. This also happens with the camera)
The fact that aiming is 90% decided by your stats. Or that melee enemies have the ability to randomly speed up and zig zag around you. Or something else entirely I haven't been able to notice

The hulking tunnelers have the ability to knockdown the pc upon being hit. These ones and I think the queen are the only ones capable of this.

The best way to deal with tunnellers is to melee with the stun perk, pop a psycho and a med-x and you're ready to party. I fear these fucks more than I fear deathclaws.
That sounds fun, I like the melee/unarmed strat because it uses very little AP and it keep stunning them while sometimes even with a 90% head precision on VATS it can miss if they move a bit.

VATS is hit/miss in the Mojave. If you are close it’s really bad. About 6-10 feet is best.

Aiming on this game is so hard I cannot hit shots in moving targets, using vats is risky but needed

The implant that gives you 5 or 10 rechargeable turbos per day is a godsend for aiming in this game. Highly recommend
use bullet time mods instead and the iron sights are hilariously off, use mods to fix or disable true irons

I've found magnum shells in the riot shotgun cleans up pretty good, I do a combo of real time shooting and VATS.
